So sad. What happened? First time back since lockdown. Ordered 1 of my favorites, the crispy pork belly banh mi. Beyond crispy, it was inedible. So tough and chewy, like bad jerky. Avoid! This was takeout so didn't discover until much later. Also ordered the grilled chicken sandwich. Much better. Smaller than I remember but still yummy. Originally I was a bit sad that I wasn't able to get Chè ba màu or other desserts you'd see at a Lee's in the South Bay and others. This Lee's is a little different compared to what I'm used to, where you walk in to shop a little to grab some premade items (from the fridge or counter) or order off the menu. It is a fairly small place and I've only come here on off hours, thankfully never had to deal with much of a line. Service is pretty quick here, does get pretty warm in the summer though as the place is relatively small. It's more a good grab n go place. There is one kiosk to order or someone can take your order at the counter. So to preface this, I am not really affected by caffeine. I can have a energy drink (200mg) or a strong espresso and still go to sleep pretty quickly afterwards... Coming here yesterday, I just wanted a Cà Phê Sữa Đá (iced coffee) as a pick me up when I noticed that there was an option for 'HULK'. Both my bf and I laughed at that because nothing has ever really bothered me before. I've gotten an 8 shot espresso drink from Starbucks before and was fine (yes, it's not the best for me but it's yummy) - nothing has bothered me since I've started drinking caffeinated stuff over a decade ago. What's the worst that could happen right? I honestly have no idea how many shots or what's in this 'HULK' iced coffee... but this is the first time I've actually felt the caffeine working - it's magical. This almost makes up for the fact that I can't get any Chè desserts here!! As for food, I usually order a container of savory sticky rice with chicken and Chinese sausage with a side order of a meatball skewer- my go to for this specific Lee's. Yesterday, my bf also got a #6 - bánh mì with bbq pork. The rice and chicken/sausage always very hearty and I never had a complaint, as well as the skewer. As for the bánh mì, the bbq pork was pretty dry and a bit tough; the sandwich being filled generously did help with it all together... but I don't think I'd want another bbq pork one from here, I'd try another filling. Final Thoughts: The iced coffee - HULK. I can't get over how strong this is, I'm dead curious how many shots or what's in it (with condensed milk). Grilled pork banh mi was so so salty omg! And also kinda way too sweet. I didn't think the veggies they put on it were crisp and fresh either. I'm gonna need some more authentic fish sauce which they call "Vietnamese Dressing" on their ordering app option.. This place was so good I came back twice in one week. Huge waste of time. Waited 45 minutes for one sandwich. Ordered 12:33 and got the order at 1:22. Yes it was Mother's Day and I overheard the bread machine breaking, but what a horrible experience. Cashier personally went up to people who ordered after me and offered free appetizers. I was offered a free appetizer right when I got my order. I can't believe I haven't left a review for this place yet! This is one of my go-to's when in Dublin! I always get a signature Vietnamese iced coffee. Today I did a blended coffee, the flavor wasn't as strong as it usually was so I wonder if I got less coffee and more ice? I also tried a bahn mi bowl this time, with carmelized steak... We were so excited to finally have a Lee's Sandwiches location in the East Bay. This locatkon is clean but tiny with limited foods. We got some pate chauds (chicken and pork) and they were decent. The bao bao was a miss since the meat was way too ,dense and the flavor isn't what the real Vietnamese bao bao should be. The worse part was the sandwiches. We ordered 5 different kinds and they were all below average: the bread itself looked almost under baked and lack of bread taste. The meats (grill chicken, cha, BBQ pork...) were all dried and lack of flavor. And all of them were very salty. Perhaps the person who made it added too much soy sauce in them. The vegetables (rau chua) was soggy and almost taste-less. We love the location and how clean this place is. But if their sandwiches don't improve, we won't come back... read more

Love their surf and turf spring rolls. The steak is so flavorful and probably hands down one of the best places I like to get my spring rolls from. They don't serve their rolls with peanut sauce which is usually my most favorite but it comes with a different sauce that compliments it perfectly. I have yet to try a sandwich yet but maybe next time. My only two negatives is their boba was too hard and not fresh and also they close too early at 6 pm. read more

It was not extremely busy, probably about 5 customers ahead of me but waited 40 minutes for our food (ordered 2 grilled pork rice plates). My Lees in Dublin is better than the one in Sunnyvale and that says a lot. The quality of the ingredients is excellent and the taste is incredible. The menu of Bahn Mis is huge...Keep in mind I used to go to the one in Garden Grove - Yes, little Vietnam and I honestly think ours in Dublin is better. Service is good but a revolving door of new cashiers. However the service is always nice and not rushed. The ambiance is nice but small. This is not really a place to dine but if you include the outside seating it will do. If this place were bigger it would be awesome. Good food and a good value. I've only ever DoorDashed food from here but I'm satisfied with the food I order every time. Nothing crazy or special, just normal eats here that you can't go wrong with. If you're just hungry rather than a foodie, then this place is for you. The grilled chicken or pork bahn mi is always good and sandwich size is bigger than a typical Vietnamese restaurant. Sometimes I'll get the wings or skewers which I enjoy but I can also see why some might not like them, especially the pork meatballs. Inside unfortunately wasn't air conditioned. They have many banh mi selection. Based on the number of western cafe offering banh mi, Lee's prices are quite reasonable. I opted for the grilled chicken banh mi with boba milk tea. In addition, I ordered the fresh shrimp spring roll. The banh mi was good. Unfortunately I didn't have the spring roll until the next day. I ordered Lee's for take out and I can't really decide if I had a 3.5 or 4 star experience. I ordered online: surf & turf spring rolls, #6 Asian bbq pork sandwich & #24 grilled pork and bbq sandwich. I really enjoyed the spring rolls. They were chewy and a perfect crunch, great flavors from the caramelized steak and shrimp. Online ordering didn't specify if the rolls came with peanut sauce or not...it does! So don't be like me and order an extra sauce on the side. The Asian bbq pork sounded so good but some parts of the meat were so tough it had a beef jerky-like texture. The parts that were easier to chew were good! My boyfriend had the grilled pork & bbq sandwich, he had no complaints! Overall, order & pick up was simple. Price point was reasonable. The store has easy parking and quick pick up. I always love going to this Lee's when I'm in Dublin. I got a signature iced coffee and ordered two vegetarian spring rolls. The employee who took my order was nice and asked how my day was so that is always a great customer service experience when they ask how your day was. There was not a lot of people inside. I loved the egg rolls I ordered. It was 2 for $4.13. It was like eating pancit inside of an egg roll. It had cabbage, carrots, tofu, and vermicelli noodles inside of it. I end up at Lee's from time to time during lunch time- basically I have 2 favorites that I keep coming back for. It's the freshly rolled Vietnamese spring rolls (not fried) and the Lemongrass tofu bowl. I always get the bowl with the vermicelli noodles and the tangy tamarind sauce. Pure vegetarians and vegans be aware that the tamarind sauce can taste a little fishy sometimes. Their sandwiches (Banh Mi) are decent too, I just love the bowl too much so end up ordering the same thing every time I go. They have a bunch of desserts usually- cannoli, cookies and pastries. This place has fast service, casual grab-n-go ambience, but a thorough menu that includes snacks (including fried rolls and fresh rolls), sandwiches, drinks, & bowls. I used to love coming for their vegetarian fresh rolls, but more recently the ingredients do not taste as fresh. I love the food here, and employees are always kind/ efficient. This review *however* is for the owners or upper management. This week, there has been another heat wave, averaging 100° every day. A couple weeks ago, it was hotter. I am concerned, considering, every time I walk inside this location, there is no air to speak of? The door is usually kept open (we have heavy wind here in Dublin).. and I saw hard-working employees with nothing but a fan in one spot to keep them cool otherwise. It doesn't feel right to me to get food from employees working in 80°+ indoor heat. Let me know if there's anyone else I can reach out to, and I'll be happy to. I'll not be going to this location until this is no longer the case, and I'll be discouraging those I know from going regularly also. I love the Lee's near home so after doing a bit of shopping while visiting this area, I was thrilled to find one not too far from where I was. I got famished after all the running around, so it was a pretty good choice to go to. My go-to has always been #11. I'm also a sucker for their pate chauds. So, I went for both. VERDICT: just as good as the ones I get near home! It completely hit my hunger spot. It's always a plus when things are made to order and that's exactly why this business is thriving. The bread came with that familiar fresh crunch and chew. The spread and the meats just worked well together and paired with the fresh veggies.... YUM. The pate chaud's appearance is completely different from what I'm familiar with (it's better presentation-wise) but just as delicious. FOOD: 4. Nothing wrong with I got. SERVICE: 4. Staff was friendly and interactive. VALUE: 4. Really fair for what they charge. PARKING: Shared with other spots. Not an issue. OVERALL: 4. I didn't hit any snags at this visit EXCEPT that they don't slice their sandwiches in half. Then again, they don't do that at the one I go to near home either. Some good, some not great at all! Bahn Mi sandwiches: 5 stars! There are lots of veggies in it (my fave) and the bread is large and fresh! The prices typically range from $6-8, which is a good deal. My favorite is the grilled chicken bahn mi with a fried egg! (The egg is worth the additional charge!) Bahn Mi bowls: hard pass. 0 stars. It costs over $10 too, which is unfathomable because you get less food than if you ordered a bahn mi sandwich. The plastic bowl they serve it in is super shallow, the brown rice that was my "base" was undercooked so it was hard, and the lemongrass tofu was my "protein", but it was super duper salty that my lips and tongue were numb from all the excess sodium after only a few bites! I had to chug my drink just to wash down the salt. I wanted so badly to like the bowl since I'm trying not to eat gluten for health reasons and want to continue coming here since my friends and kids like Lee's. However, I would never get this bowl again. It was close to inedible with the over-seasoned/over-salted tofu. Sides: 3 stars. Things like sesame balls and sticky rice are okay. They are usually dry because they've been sitting under the heat lamp for too long. They'll hit the spot if you are craving it, but the taste is highly average, bordering on "not worth it". Seating is limited but they do provide some outdoor seating, which is good during the pandemic. Ordering seems safe because they have a clear wall up between the cashier and customer, but you don't need to yell because they have 2-way microphone/speakers! It's a quick and easy ordering and checkout process. 4 stars for that. Vietnamese coffee: 4 stars. Delicious flavor and it has a strong aromatic coffee flavor, but the price for the content size makes it not worth it. It is full of ice and doesn't have much coffee in it. OK, I've made enough visits here to finally write a review of this place. Staff is pretty friendly, but mostly just straight to the point. No small talk, just takes your order and serves you your food. (Not necessarily a bad thing, I actually dislike small talk.) I've tried a few things here so far... - GRILLED PORK BANH MI: 6.8/10 It's decent. Everything I want in a banh mi is there, but I just don't like how much sauce is on the grilled pork. And I've ordered it enough to know that it's consistently very saucy. - SHRIMP SPRING ROLLS: 6/10 Again, it's decent, but plain. Vermicelli, lettuce, mint, water sprouts, and shrimp wrapped in rice paper. The peanut sauce is nice, it's not too tangy or too nutty. Very balanced. - STEAMED PORK BUN: 1/10 Not my cup of tea. When I ordered it, I think I was imagining it being more like pork siopao. It definitely wasn't that. And there was peas in it. Not a fan. - THAI TEA: -- I'm almost certain they served me spoiled milk. I took one sip of my drink and it literally, LITERALLY tasted like vomit. So much that I almost actually vomited. As soon as I stepped outside, I threw it in the trash can. Disgusting. (That said, I cannot give an honest review on this because I do think the milk was rotten and had it not been, I'm sure it would have been a decent thai tea) - SESAME BALLS: 9/10 So good, I can eat these everyday. The staff is friendly and delivered my sandwich, as ordered, very quickly. From the many menu options, I went for the Asian BBQ Pork (minus the mayo) sandwich. The pork had a delicate blend of sweet, savory & lightly smoked flavors, in a bed of pickled daikon radish and carrot, cilantro, and topped with jalapeño slices, on a traditional Vietnamese-style baguette.
