Their Korean Cold Noodle was horrible. It was like they made cold broth with plain water. The broth had no deep or rich taste at all. I was so disappointed. The cold broth must be blended/made with ice slush instead of ice cubics. The broth was not cold enough. On top of that, they put sliced apples on the top, not pear, cucumber & radish slices. Is that a fusion style cold Naengmyun? Honestly, $4.99 instant cold Naengmyun from Korean market (DIY) tastes much better than this. read more

This continues to be one of the most rock solid tofu houses in the southbay. There may be fancier ones but this one always hits the spot. for 10:49 you can get yourself a korean tofu soup (Soon du bu jigae) i always go for the combination (meat and seafood) EXTRA SPICY honestly its not that spicy even when its extra. They crack a fresh egg, and its served with all you can eat banchan (love the kimchi, beansprouts, and fish cake here) and served with a stone pot rice, which gets crispy by the end of it. The bibimbap used to be my favorite here, however after going here for a couple years they have increased the price, discontinued the runny egg, and added lettuce in the mix now as filler, meh. The short rib even though it is expensive is very good here, some of the best but at a high price of 23.99. Worth giving it a try, but I dont usually order it as i can go here twice for that price. The place is well maintained and always clean and will remain one of my favorite tofu soup spots in the southbay :) read more

This was my first time trying Korean tofu soup and it was amazing. The soup was mild in spice which is what I wanted and just what I expected. The tofu was extremely soft and fluffy and it was my favorite part! The stone bowl rice was very good and came with the soup and was a nice addition to the soup. As a picky eater is was greatly surprised to find that there were no vegetables, you can of course add them in but if you have picky eaters I'm sure they will enjoy it still! read more

For tofu soup (soon dubu), this is my favorite place and also the place I like to take soon dubu first-timers. It is reasonably priced and the food is good. I don't pay attention to the other entrees, I only get the soon dubu. My favorites are the mushroom, the clam, or the beef, depending on my mood. Key points to remember: If you don't want a raw egg cracked into your boiling bowl of soup when it comes to your table, speak up quickly! Also, be careful not to burn your tongue because the soup stays hot a long time and it tastes good so it's hard to resist gobbling it up without cooling it enough. For spice wimps like me, don't order mild -- go fo the NON-spicy level option, which has NO spice, also called "white" because there is no red pepper in it. There is still plenty of flavor and you can always add more using banchan (side dishes). The non-spicy banchan includes the seasoned bean sprouts, fishcake with reddish sauce that isn't spicy, and a stack of flavored nori. They also have both cucumber and nappa cabbage kimchi, which I can nibble sparingly without feeling like my mouth is under spice assault. Of course if you like it hot, you are covered with soon dubu levels all the way up to extra-spicy. Another nice touch is that the rice comes in a stone bowl. You can scrape off the crispy rice stuck to the side of the bowl. Or, add some soup broth or water to get it to come off more cleanly, but that may reduce the crispiness. The staff here is super busy running around serving and cleaning up all the many dishes, but you can get their attention as they rush by. They may have to come back to find out what you want, depending on what is going on. It's all good, they will take care of you. read more

Its location is definitely in a trendy area of varying eateries, so good luck trying to park nearby (it's better to park in the back of the lot and walk the rest of the way, otherwise spaces get tight). But their food has been consistent in quality, flavor, and freshness. Their staff is so nice, friendly, and responsive.. During peak times you may get a longer ETA if you're ordering via Yelp, but it's accurate on time and when it's ready, and worth the wait. It's authentically Korean and I feel safe eating there and taking out (doing Covid and non-Covid situations alike). read more

I love soon tofu and this is the place to be! When entered, seated quickly and I never had to wait more than 5 minutes. After the lady brings a small salad which is very good and refreshing :) I usually get the mushroom tofu - has 3 different type of mushroom and get spicy. Not that spicy, and has the right amount of kick without being too bland or super spicy. Comes with a rice bowl but I usually just take out all the rice and ask for barley tea to pour into the rice bowl so that it turns into rice soup . I came here for lunch a couple weeks ago, and I was pleasantly surprised. As I've mentioned in other reviews, I frequent the Tozai Plaza, and have walked by this place many times, and had not tried it yet, which is strange considering how much I love soon tofu. I usually eat soon tofu at Cho Dang, although it's a lot further from me. We walked in, and were seated right away. I noticed at first glance that the restaurant seemed very clean. I liked the variety and freshness of the ban chan, all were tasty. I ordered the combo soon tofu with beef, the soup was delicious! My only complaint was that although I ordered the combo, I think they may have thought I ordered the seafood, since there was no beef in my soup but a lot of seafood. My hubby ordered the kimchi soon tofu with beef, and he barely had any beef in his soup. I would definitely have preferred beef in my soup as I had ordered, and my hubby would have liked a little more beef in his. Other than that, the soup and ban chan and service were good enough for me to give this place 4 stars. The servers kept coming by to check on our ban chan, and see if we needed more-this was really nice, since I'm used to having to find them to ask for more. Got the medium spice but it wasn't very spicy. Next time will try extra spicy. We called ahead and didn't wait a long time. You get a large rice and the bancham sides!!!!! With tax and tip it was $16 but enough for two meals so such a value for something g that was so tasty and was like Korean comfort food They were super nice and it's great to support a local family run business. I used to like this restaurant. But I was very disappointed with their service and quality of food tonight. We ordered two soon tofu and waited for 35 minutes before we were served. 25 minutes after we ordered, I asked the server for their banchan which were sitting on the counter. He said he will serve them with our order! Most restaurants would serve us the banchan while we wait. And they used to do that too. The staff was not friendly. I was hoping to love this place, but it's nothing to rave about. The soon tofu are decent, but I've had better. I was actually super disappointed with the Japchae. No one commented about it, so I should haven't known. But I was craving it since I had really good Korean food at a friend's house in Gardena recently. The Japchae was on the moist side, and it did not have that same delicious perfect texture that just satisfies the taste buds. On top of it, it was pretty sweet which didn't taste right. I thought the banchan was just ok too... and I usually love the banchan and it's what I looked forward to. We didn't even requested any refills for the banchan, which isn't a normal thing for me. I love soon Tofu, but Lees is my FAVORITE! I usually order the mushroom or seafood soon which comes with stone rice and lots of side goodies such as wakame seaweed, kimchi, fish cake, bean sprouts, nori, spicy cucumbers etc. you can refill these sides as much as your heart desires(: food is always delicious, fast, and steaming hot! The service is outstanding and the waitresses are always quick to help you with what you want. Hot Tea is complimentary and the place is usually not packed, so you can sit down immediately. Located at Tozai Plaza so parking can be tough (due to the popular boiling point and honeymee) but def. one of the most slept on spots here! It's an okay tofu soup spot in the area. I came for lunch with coworkers and they had combo menu's as well. You can get a lunch special for cheaper price but smaller size. Compared to other tofu places I've been to this place doesn't have "deep" flavors. As a Korean, I've had my fair share of soondubu my whole life. Seasoning was okay but seemed a bit watery. I wouldn't necessary come all the way over here for the soup, but maybe if I crave it while in the area. It's not that cheap compared to other places in ktown as well. read more

I love tofu, lots of little sides, and kimchi is on point. I ordered kimchi soon tofu with oysters. Definately made me full and it was very tasty. Only complaint is that it got pretty salty towards the end. Which is why I docked a star off. Boyfriend had combination tofu and kbbq. He said it was delicious. His first time at a tofu house and he was amazed. Overall, it's very satisfying if you're craving tofu. I thought just a few pieces still uncooked, but nope, the whole thing were uncooked which make me really disappointed. Lee's Tofu used to be my go-to restaurant. I recommended a lot of my friends and family to come here, I hope they won't get disappointed like me. The price goes up but their quality really goes down. Never waste my money here. It is spicier than the original yudduk if you know what itThe should have told us how spicy the noodles are since we were first time here and thought the spicy noodles are pretty same as other korean places. Also, don't order the spicy pork ribs. They are super hard to chew and super smelly. It came with 4-5 pcs and some pcs don't even look like ribs. The tofu soup is okay nothing special. A friend is a fan of Lee's Tofu and suggested that I try it. I finally got around to it and have to say my experience was a big disappointment. I went with another friend and we where seated rather quickly. We were asked what we wanted to drink and shown the menu/place holder to order from. Unfortunately I can't eat onion's and asked the server which dishes should I select that has no onion's. I was shown a list of dishes that She claimed would be good for me. The dishes came and were extremely hot. The server then grabs an egg and breaks it open into the soup and walks away very quickly while I was trying to find out why the dish was covered in onions. From that point forward the wait staff ignored our table and just kept looking around the corner at us, pointing and commenting to each other in Korean, but would not acknowledge us. They would not even come back to fill our water glasses...not that they were assisting anyone else with water either. I tipped according to the level of service I received (not very much) and promptly left. This is not the kind of service I would have expected from the rave reviews a friend gave me. I will not be returning to Lee's Tofu and I will never suggest them to anyone. Even if the food was great the table service we received would be the major reason I would have for telling others to avoid this place. read more

This place has very much a "hole-in-the-wall" feel, located in a strip mall, but I feel like all of my favorite restaurants are located in strip malls these days, so I think that just means strip malls are where its at!
