We went for lunch today and we were so impressed! Beautiful space, lovely waiters and staff, and fantastic food! The fish was very fresh and beautifully prepared. Excellent salad and bread. We even had dessert (panna cotta) and that was great too. Prices were extremely reasonable considering the high quality of the food. They have a lunch special with three courses for $23, so we are already planning our next visit. Don't miss this great place! read more

My husband and I were here over the summer and had dinner outside. Everything was pretty good and their instagram makes it seem like its an awesome place to have a fun night out, so I decided to have a few of my girls out for my birthday this past weekend. I made the reservation a month prior. I responsibly called when the party number went from 10 to 7. They then proceeded to call me back and say we can only have the table from 8pm-10:30pm. Which I fully understood. We arrived right on time for our reservation and were told the table wasn't ready yet and to have a drink at the bar, ok not a big deal. Forty minutes later, we were told there is no time frame for when our table will be ready. Then we were told , about fifteen minutes later, that a table upstairs are finishing up and we would be seated shortly. Now the place was getting insanely packed with many unhappy customers. The manager then said if we want to sit any time soon, we would have to take a table in the tent and then commit to a bottle service table inside if we wanted to dance and listen to the DJ. After trying to unsuccessfully explain that this isn't ok, not what is advertised all over their instagram and not what I had planned for my birthday AND that they were jerking me around, I just wanted to sit and eat - so I agreed to the outdoor table. He also told me there was another reservation with the same name as me, who the table upstairs was for, my name isn't very common, so we knew he was lying to us. After sitting and another forty five minutes of not even having water on the table we decided to walk across the street to Grissini (who accommodated us right away and we had a great time, thank you Grissini) No one deserves to be treated the way we were. They didn't even offer a drink to smooth anything over or an apology!!!!!! They didn't care at all. My birthday was almost ruined because of their attitude and horrible management. I'm not sure who these people think they are but I do not need to be so "thirsty" to take whatever they give me. So not worth it!!!!!!!! This was the worst restaurant experience of my life. What made it worse was their callous, derogatory way of dealing with us. read more

This is a new restaurant. Portions were good not to over filling so room for dessert. My other 3 friends liked their dish a lot. I had the lamb chops wanted medium well; was more like very well. Deserts were okay. Very cozy nice ambiance just felt rushed at 9:30 PM for a Saturday night. read more

I am a wine & spirit brand ambassador in NY and I have been dealing with over 2000 on premise (restaurants) in NY and NJ for the last 8 years. I just want to let people know that Lefkes is the place where they bring top line service and food quality far beyond the expected standard in NJ People who are working in this area are lucky enough to experience right after work but also i believe this will be great place who would want to experience real mediterranean food. The GM Michael went beyond and above to take care of us! read more

Englewood Cliffs hit the jackpot! Great new Greek restaurant with an amazing fish display! The beer is fully stocked and the wine selection is one that legends are made up! Service has improved by an exponential amount and is constantly improving! Open for lunch and dinner! read more

Elegant service and delicious food! Lefkes has become one of my favorite places to dine. The lavraki was amazing and the oysters were so fresh I loved every bite. The service was quick, efficient, and lived up to the expectations I had. My server Zoe did an excellent job of making sure my drinks were cold and the food warm. She timed her appearances perfectly making sure everything was to my liking. Overall it was a very enjoyable meal and I definitely would come back. read more

Me and one of my girlfriends came to check this place out on a Thursday night. Despite some of not so great reviews I heard. We had a greek salad, Lefkes crisp our main entree la vraki it was excelente ! And for dessert I don't remember the name but it was deep fried Crispy phyllo, it was delicious! Our server Greg was very knowledgeable and helpful. Overall I give my experience 5 stars ! read more

The food was ok. I ordered Black Sea bass, octopus, and beet salad. All mediocre. It was not authentic Greek food. It doesn't beat the Two top Greek restaurants in Bergen county. The ambiance is nice especially in the garden. The waitress was friendly and accommodating but somehow a busboy removed the heater that kept our table and another table warm and placed it in front of the table behind us. I found that rude since it was 50 degrees and chilly. I purposely asked to be seated by a heater when we first got there. The place is really spacious inside with high ceilings and modern ambiance but as soon as you go to the bathroom it seems everybody missed the wicker trash can and piled the hand napkins on top. It needed to be cleaned. Gross. Lastly there was absolutely no pandemic inside the restaurant. Maybe 10% of people (customers) really wear their mask to get up and go outside or in the bathroom and it was at 100% full capacity and 30 people were standing at the bar! If you're not comfortable with visiting Texas or Florida don't come here. I think we need a slower transition to normalcy. I don't think everyone is on the same page right now and the rules are still in place in other places of business in NJ. They need to calm down with the rule breaking. I'm surprised they haven't been busted by the health department by now after reading previous reviews. To top it off horrible club music and supposedly it's a club scene at night with dancing. After hearing the music before 10 I didn't want to stay. Especially with no high tables by the bar. This was a total twilight zone. read more

Hmmmm! Friends of ours were there & said it was good. We went with them last nite and I don't know what happened??? Took a really long time to even ask if we wanted a drink to start off. Then, when drinks did come, martinis were actually warm; not even a little chilled. Pre-fixed dinners came with no sides at all! The waiter said we were getting grilled veggies and a side of mashed potatoes with another dish. Hmmm! Not sure I would ever go back to even give them another chance. read more

I like the vibe at Lefkes. I'm a Grissini regular, dine at Sofia's, River Palm and all neighboring restaurants in Englewood, Englewood Cliffs and Edgewater. I always dine at the bar. The food is exceptional! I've had a few special evenings there. When chef Yianni is in town, the experience is quite memorable. He introduced me to the octopus pate, wow! Start with the grilled octopus, exceptional! Oyster are always very fresh. Try the key lime pie! The sour apricot glaze on top is amazing. If you enjoy seafood, you're in for a treat. I can't speak to the table service. I'm a bar guy. I always like a full bar (my thing) and choice, Basil Hayden, Japanese whiskey, Remy Martin, vodkas, etc. It's a nice place for brunch too (try some Basil Hayden and orange juice!). I've had a great burger as well. Lemon potatoes are a must. There is also an impressive wine selection (very affordable wine list). Bottom line, the owners/partners/managers/"new bartenders" have made this place special. It's going to be very special in the spring and summer. Give it a shot! read more

Best restaurant in town.. Had a problem with my food and a nice women named Bridget came right over and helped. Best customer service ever

Excellent Greek food & service. The food was wonderful - and we know our Greek food. They took great care of our elderly parents - even walking mom to the restroom. Looking forward to going again soon! read more

Great high end Greek addition to the area. I was expecting to see a slightly changed version of its former tenant but they completely gutted the place and the space is incredible with the addition of a huge wraparound bar. Great cocktails and we tried the moussaka croquettes and squid ink risotto with shrimp and scallops it will be back for more. read more

i really want this place to do well, but it seems they are a little confused. The sushi i had was really good, but i was thrown off....i thought this was a greek restaurant. Service was sub par, but i can tell they were only opened a short time and have alot to work on. I will go back again, i hope the menu items that i will try our better than a few other things we have had....and please fix the wine list! read more

Lefkes offers a wonderful new and excellent dining experience for the Englewood Cliffs neighborhood. I have been there first for dinner, then a small birthday gathering, again on Christmas night, and, most recently, for lunch. Each meal has been fresh, imaginative and impeccably prepared. This is one new restaurant that truly gets even better each time we visit! The staff is most professional, and at the same time, personable and helpful in meeting individual needs. Highly recommended! read more

Very disappointing-waited one hour for food which arrived cold-mezzes very mediocre-so sad!

Dinner for 4 last night 12/5/18. Interior space is warm and inviting, service solid, food very good. High end healthy Greek with many fun contemporary updates. Prices are high but we got what we paid for.... a very good experience and nice to have a high end local spot to enjoy. Well done!! read more

One of my favorite restaurants in town. Went with my girlfriend and I must say we were both left with a WOW. We are greek and so we've been looking for a nice, elegant, traditional Mediterranean place to go on a more regular basis ( since we don't cook) and how awesome may I say the whole experience was! We each ordered a cocktail . I ordered the Santorini sunrise my girlfriend ordered the blood orange margarita ! Both great cocktails . We definitely had a second-round! To start out with our food I must say you can tell that they use good ingredients . From ordering those Mousaka Crocketts to our greek salad (which you can tell the veggies were farm raised) to the traditional greek recipes of the spreads. The grand finale was our fish! Our server was so knowledgeable on explaining to us where and what our fish was from and how it tasted! We ordered the red snapper and grilled octopus that they kindly deboned and filleted for us our fish cooked on the grill! It was mouth watering! Are desert choice where the hot galaktobouriko which I HAD TO order onother order to take home and enjoy it in the morning with my coffee!!! Service was on great. We weren't rushed. Simple and with a smile. Very important to us for we look for that anywhere we go. There's ALWAYS a manager on the floor checking on tables and being inviting. Hospitality at its finest as we all know the Greeks are known for ! oh and btw it was a Saturday night! We would of liked to hear some "greek music" in the background just to maximize our experience but I guess that can be a preference thing. We're looking forward in the summer to see that beautiful patio open and enjoy with our friends many cocktail nights in the open. Kudos to the manager and his team! read more

I would not typically do this but I'm frustrated. On Saturday night, we tried Lefkes. I have emailed them twice concerning our experience without any response. I called but didn't get anyone helpful to speak with. We were very much enjoying our meal there until he got a fishbone stuck in the back of his tongue, pointing into his throat. We spent all night in the ER only to have to go back to the hospital in the morning for the bone to be surgically removed. If you are a NEW restaurant, doing a soft opening, wouldn't you check the email address on your website and address any and all concerns? The meal was not inexpensive and now we have medical costs to deal with plus we were supposed to spend a great afternoon at the Giants game-- it's certainly not a financially friendly ordeal. And on top of that it was very dangerous! If you can't properly debone a fish or the type of fish is going to have large, sharp bones that are hard to see in a dark restaurant, you shouldn't serve those things. I hope this note brings the necessary change for this restaurant to be successful not only with their menu but with their customer service. Like I said, the meal was lovely until that point. This experience was rather unfortunate all around. read more

We came here with our fiends who had gone to the Lefkes in Santorini and thought we would like it. What we liked was the look of the restaurant- very cool spot. They need about 8-10 more employees. There was no one at the hostess station when we arrived, there was a beautiful bar but no bartender. We were seated promptly and ordered the cauliflower, the Greek salad and 3 dips to share. They were all pretty good. Trying to get a glass of wine was challenging...if I owned a restaurant, I would make sure that if my servers see 3 empty glasses on a table-ASK THEM IF THEY WOULD LIKE ANOTHER DRINK! I ordered Halibut from the menu and it came out so hard that I almost needed a steak knife to cut it. Not flavorful, did not come with what it said on the menu and was not cooked properly ....$38 too! My friend struggled to order her fish because at 7:45 they seemed to be out of all the special fish they had. She was talked into red snapper and she thought it was ok, nothing special. Since she didn't eat all of it, she was asked if she wanted to bring it home. She declined. At that point something we called Fish Shaming started. The waitress must have come over 3-4 more times to ask her if she liked it and wondered why she wasn't bringing the leftovers home. It got to be very uncomfortable. We laughed about it after, calling it Fish Shaming. We will never be back because it is too expensive for sub par fish. Shame on YOU Lefkes - you have a lot of work to do! read more

I was so happy to hear that a New Greek restaurant opened up near where I live in palisades park. It's hard to find great Greek food nearby. A couple of my friends told me to go visit as they went last week during the soft opening. I believe today they had a different menu so I'm guessing it was the actual opening. Me and my 3 friends we ate close to the bar and it was a bit noisy during the food but we had our own fun conversation. The food well... appetizers were amazing. Our waiter recommended some sushi for us and we were like sushi in a Greek place that's really weird, but it was so fresh and delicious. The main course we had some pink snapper, salmon, and the ink risotto. The pink snapper had a few bones but the waiter told us there would be a few which were fine. The Brussels sprouts were absolutely bland, no flavor. Salmon was cooked nicely, a bit dry though and the risotto was beautiful, great recommendations by the server. The service was great, he knew a lot about the food and made a few fun jokes and was totally honest. My wife cracked up when he said he prefers the salmon raw than cooked and it was a hilarious time. Besides the time waiting on food like 25 minutes for appetizers to come out and some of the side dishes, everything else was great, a few things need to be fixed, but would come back in the near future. read more

100 F outside they sit us down for 6 pm dinner without telling their air conditioning wasn't working. We had a fan nearby we should have realized... After we ordered and got drinks we started to feel hot ... after approaching some one at the front they admitted that they lost air conditioning about two hours ago but no one told us upon arrival.. I was upset since this was our family dinner with kids! Finally the owner comes up and started to argue that some must have told us apron arrival, she didn't even apologize and just said I'll give you "deserts on the house then" . It was too hot to wait till desert so at the end we didn't order any. The services as so slow, we had to sent shrimp back as it was very tough . My kids didn't eat and we couldn't wait to get out. The bill was around 300so only 25 dollars off ... we left very unhappy and will never return because if something is broken they should warn their customers not manipulate them in ordering , if their refrigerators broke would they tell us? read more
