This was a great first visit to the Left Fork Grill. We came at lunch time, and based on the number of people waiting to dine there, we knew we made a good decision. The Left Fork grill is a little older, and the decor is a little eclectic, but the staff was friendly, and the food was delicious. I ordered a pretty standard diner breakfast, two eggs and hash browns, and was very happy with that choice. The eggs were cooked to perfection (over-medium is often cooked too long), the sausage was house made, and the pancake I substituted for my toast was awesome.

I ended lunch with a slice of blueberry pie. Good meal, good service, good decision!

When we landed in SLC we wanted to find a spot that had basic breakfast offerings that was close to our rental car pickup. I was delighted to find Left Fork Grill right down the street and when we pulled up there was plenty of parking left in the lot as we made our way inside. The smells of bacon, sausage, and hot brewed coffee hit us right when we walked in. We were greeted and sat in a modest booth not too far from the entrance. As Texans we were a little shocked with the cold crisp air so I was happy to walk in and feel like I was wrapped up in a warmth of pancake smells and some warm coffee. The menu was diverse and there was plenty of us to check out including their pie selection. Also, while sitting in the booth, I noticed and loved the pie shelf that is included in every single seating situation around the grill. Super super cute idea and just begs for you to get a pie so you can display it for yourself, and everyone else, what lovely pie dessert you have to eat! Our food was delicious and since we had a long morning of commuting from Texas to SLC we finished every single bite of our dishes. I opted for a 2 egg, seasoned home fries with some tasty caramelized onions, toast, and sausage dish while my partner had a hearty 3 egg ham and cheese omelette. Service was fast and friendly. Our waitress was super attentive with our coffee and refilling us up as well as making small talk about our day and our plans which I appreciated it. It was a fantastic place to jumpstart our time and eating experience in SLC!

Sad-sad. Left Fork has jumped the shark. NO PIE ON MONDAYS?! WTF?! Compare the former & current pics, & see for yourself... Higher prices. Lower quality. A few weeks ago, The meatloaf was more of a dry burger with a few peppers & onions in it. Chili sauce tasted of HFCS. Today, Eggs in a Hole flat gross... greasy eggs & bread, burnt bacon that even smelled old (almost gagged me), homefries coated in some msg maltodextrin junk, no onions or peppers, hollandaise lumpy & no flavor. Attitudy server... negative ambiance. I guess Jeff is "over it." Understandably, but I won't be back. Sad-sad.

Cute local diner. Our server Roxanne was so kind and sweet and made our day, she is a phenomenal waitress & kept checking on us to make sure we were happy. The eggs Benedict were delicious, the New York steak had great taste but was not very tender. Would come back for breakfast. The parking lot is very small.

I have found the diner of my dreams! Tucked away on 3900 South in SLC, this little restaurant is just the kind of comfort food I was hoping for. I have a friend who was moved to an assisted living facility and loves rhubarb pie. I'm not much of a pie maker, so called all over trying to find rhubarb pie. Hooray! Left Fork had it and said they'd box up a few pieces for me. I also ordered a tuna sandwich for lunch to go even though my hopes were low. Most places don't make good tuna sandwiches and when they do, they often taste odd and aren't good. However, Left Fork's sandwich was perfect! Pickles, cheese, the right amount of mayo, lettuce, tomato, and tasty bread. Very generous size, too. The pie is amazing! I got some extra slices for my family and the crust is delicious. We will definitely be going back soon to try more items! Everyone was also really friendly, on the phone and in-person, and I love the pride flags this month, too. ‍

First off, the biggest plus was that we were able to get seated right away! We had first tried to go to Penny Ann's nearby and there was a 1 hour wait. The service overall was good. At first our waitress was very impatient and short with us, but all of a sudden she flipped a switch and was very nice, so I don't know what that was about. The food was just okay. It wasn't anything to write home about, but wasn't bad either. We got the pancakes and breakfast sandwich. The pancakes were HUGE, but lacking on sweetness and flavor. The breakfast sandwich was pretty good though. The restaurant itself definetly has a 50's mom and pop diner vibe. I di have to say the building does look a little run down, with water stains all over the ceiling and such. They also display and sell local artists work, which is pretty cool, but boy are they overpriced. Seemed like the average piece was about $150. Overall, if you're looking for somewhere to take the fam for lunch or breakfast every once and a while, this is a good choice.

Great breakfast deal! From 6 am - 11 am $5.99 1 very large pancake house made sausage and 2 eggs! Also had a slice of banana cream pie! Beautiful crust and yummy! Really nice folks and good food!

After hearing so many other people talking about this diner, I wanted to give it a try. So my wife and I visited for breakfast recently. It encompasses the entire meaning of "divey" by being a bit dated with a good percentage of patrons on first name basis with the staff. It's almost like something you'd see in a RomCom-but here in Salt Lake City. We were advised to take a specific table when we walked in. There was no host, just a waitress running around taking care of everyone-she was also the one who greeted us and directed us where to sit. We watched for a few minutes and realized this poor lady was running the place herself. Not a single other staff member in sight. (Hopefully someone will notice the big "help wanted" sign in the window soon.) She came to us, took our order and returned a few minutes later with drinks. I felt bad for her-I really wanted to grab a notepad and jump in to help. Some of the other guests were getting antsy and we noticed one party left early and asked for their food to go. She remained pleasant and did the best she could. It's not her fault that she's the only one there. The food itself was great! I had eggs, pancakes and bacon. I couldn't tell what was in the eggs, but it made the flavor stand out in a good way. The pancakes were a little thin for my liking, but not terrible. And the bacon was fine-two of the pieces were perfection and the third was just about all fat. I left that one behind. I will add this place to my list of those I'd like to return to. Some of the lunch and dinner menu items looked really good and I'd like to give them a shot.

I'm sad to say, but my experience here was just OK. Prices are a smidge over priced for what you're getting. I ordered the hot cakes (2 big pancakes, choice of sausage, ham, or bacon, and 2 eggs) for $12.99. My pancakes lacked flavor and there was a short hair in the butter. The pancakes needed salt and I tried a bite of my friends corn beef hash and it was very one note and needed more salt as well. We also got the clam chowder which had good flavor but didn't taste like traditional clam chowder. It was still good though! Took photos of the menu since they don't have the menu updated on their website!

The special of the day, huevos rancheros. Super tasty. A bit spicy.

This is absolutely a five star diner. What a lovely spot with wonderful food, amazing prices, lovely service, and a great diner vibe. This time I got the asparagus scramble special. It was just wonderful. The potatoes that came with it were also just heavenly. My mom got the French toast and substituted fruit for the protein and they gave no extra charge. She loved the French toast and the fruit. Just a quality spot that you need to check out if you long for the small town service and home town cooking you get from small towns. Yet with this place too get it ten minutes from downtown. Amazing service and just good vibes. Five stars all the way.

The western omelet is full of veggies and real cheddar cheese! You can't go wrong with the side of breakfast potatoes, they are crispy with peppers and onions! Halibut fish and chips are super good too! Don't forget to order pie! We shared the chocolate cream. The crust is perfect and flaky and the whipped cream is the best part! You wouldn't think by driving by but it's worth dropping by for lunch or dinner. They let us order breakfast even though it was really close to 3pm. read more

I was very pleased to see this place was very clean. There are so few places you can order liver, onions, and pie. You won't find glutten free, vegan options, or even almond milk for your coffee and yet the place is packed on a Sunday morning at 11. read more

We go there often, I don't think I have ever been disappointed. The burgers are one of the best in town and they have some of the best breakfast choices, including different specials each time we go in. They also have some of the most unique pie choices around (like grapefruit) if you don't think you have room take a slice to go. I think my favorite has been the banana cream! read more

Quick service even when its busy but the quality of the food and service lacks. Four of us received warm-ish plates but one was a wrong meal. It took the time for everybody else to completely finish their meals before the correct one finally came. We also had to ask for syrup, coffee creamer, ketchup etc because it wasn't brought out with the sides. Finally we also had to wait for coffee refills, our check and a to go box. I wouldn't go back however our waitress was apologetic read more

Roxana and Bianca are very pleasant servers. The spinach bacon omelet was very good. One of the best omelettes I've had in a very long time. Counter seating is nice when dining alone. All of the staff was pleasant and constantly helping each other. Coffee is hot and dark but not bitter. The air conditioner could have been much lower but over all it has been a very pleasant dining experience, I will definitely be back and recommend to others. read more

The food is great...however a few of the hostess's lack personality. Jackie is rude very...don't ask for anything because she will look at you and with the deer in the headlights. I don't often write reviews, but this place made me mad. The food was not bad, but nothing extraordinary and the prices were not bad. However, the service was abysmal. We were seated, after a good 5 min our waitress came over to take our orders. We told he they would be separate checks. I order a sandwich (meatloaf) and a soda and the people with me also order sandwiches. We did not see her again for a good 15 min when our food was ready. At which time I had to ask for my drink which she then went and got. That was the last time she stop by the table. My drink was never refilled, I had wanted pie, but I had to get back to work and we had not see her for another 15 mins. I eventually was able to flag her down and ask for the check. Another 20 min past before we received it. However, the table next to our asked for their check after we did and received it before we did. This alone annoyed me, but it was the attitude of the waitress that made me mad. When we expressed that we were upset about the lack of attention, she was rude, and completely unapologetic. I don't think I have ever left a $0.01 cent tip before, but I think that was too much for this waitress. Overall a one course lunch took us more then 70 min and late return to work. I will never go here again, and I recommend that you do not either or at least leave 2 hours for a 40 min meal. read more

I love this place. Good variety of food and it almost always is super delicious. (fish and chips I wasn't crazy about). Waitresses are so nice and really add to the experience as well. This place really doesn't need Yelp, as it's packed nearly all of the time. read more

Good cafe for breakfast. Not lots of fancy options, just good solid traditional breakfasts. Staff is generally quick and friendly. Decent pricing. Can be busy but generally no wait to get a table. Have never been here for anything other than breakfast. Great place to go in, get a solid breakfast quickly, and get on with your day. Recommend. read more

We go to this place a lot. The pie is excellent when you get it in restaurant. The service has been good for the most part, and the restaurant is clean. We like the halibut here, highly recommend it for lunch. Just like my review of Tammy's, this place serves tasty breakfast also. One of my trusty standbys. read more

Well since I'm on my wife's account Ill start with her review first"I liked my burger." OK now I gave it three stars for one reason that just got my ass a little burned ordered breakfast and my egg's medium) and they came with a nice dark brown crispy edge and I hate that, but since Ive never been there before I was cool about it and even told my server that I wasn't trying to be a dick about it.Its a personal thing and I was going to keep them.She just knew something was up cause I made a gross face when they hit the table. The three stars is because two booths down the other servers were folding napkins and when mine went and sat down she started talking shit.I could hear her and they all looked over at me like I was a dick.I swear I was cool about it.Call me petty,at least go out of earshot...The pie I hear is pretty good but at 11 am they were out of all but one kind. So there you have it.I would go back.The food wasn't bad at all..... read more

The servers were fantastic, attentive and friendly. Booths were comfortable and they had larger tables for groups . Will be back soon to try more of the menu .

These are tater tot nachos, they were excellent, normally I don't like cheese sauce on Nachos, but given the consistency and flavor of this sauce (house made, I'm guessing. Not canned) They were excellent. The Beef Dipper and Au Jus, also top notch! Generally in a French dip, there is a lot of fatty pieces, this was not that. Also at my table was the Chile Verde bowl, this one has a kick... but my friend having it really enjoyed it. The fish and chips was great, smelled fresh. Lets talk about the sides. Choice of Fries (appeared to be battered fries, always a favorite of mine.) Tots, or house made potato chips. I had the Potato Chips with mine, these were excellent, crisp and tender on the inside. The Athena (Lamb Burger) got rave reviews from one at the table The Service: Because we were in a large group they advised us they were going to be taking our orders as we came in so not to overwhelm the kitchen staff. Excellent communication throughout service given that we were a large group. I talked to one of the Owners, Laurie, I could tell she had a huge sense of pride in the place. Very friendly! The Restaurant: Great atmosphere, Fun artwork, best of all, VERY Clean, nothing sticky or no grease buildup on any surface. The glass ware on the wall behind the bar as all polished. In the bar area they stack their silver, tableware, condiments etc. in a cute little cozy box on the table, with the main dining area setup as a diner with the traditional paper napkin and silverware. For a diner motif to have shined silver and glassware is a nice touch! Summary: Eat here! The prices are reasonable, the food is excellent, when I looked at the menu online I was a little put off by no actual entrée's on the dinner menu, however the in house experience made up for that, it's a pub food vibe and they are doing it well!
