OPA!! I absolutely adore this casual little restaurant. My family have been frequenting this place for years. I've tried lots of dishes over the years and it's all good.. From gyros, souvaki, skewers (love the sword fish), grilled octopus (any grilled fish is done right here), stuffed tomatoes and peppers, lemon potatoes, greek salad (that dressing.. yum-o!),.. and oh man the soups... mmm mmm good ;-) I could go on and on.. All awesome and the portions are ridiculously generous . The staff is friendly and helpful. George is the best waiter ever ;-) The decor is typical old school Greek restaurant.. murals of Greece on the walls, white and blue checkered table cloths.. Greek music playing, it's totally kitchy, but I love it.. lol. Whether takeout or dining in I have always had a great experience and I always look forward to it. This seems to be our spot when dining out on the town. I've never been to the Tarrytown location. I've only been to this one. It's not especially large, so I can only imagine how small the original location must be. This is quite a hot spot here in Mount Kisco. It's very popular. If you're going for dinner (esp. on the weekend) I would advise you to get there on the earlier side. (Your mileage may vary? IDK. Don't take my word as gospel. Better check with the locals, because a Mount Kiscan? Mount Kiscoite? Mount Kiscoer? I ain't.) This appears to me to be like the most popular place in all of Mount Kiscoal. So busy. Hustlin' waitstaff move fast. The service is attentive and excellent. The entire staff is friendly. I liked 'em. The food? Eh, so-so. I've had some really positive experiences at the original Lefteris Gyro in Tarrytown. But for some reason, I've never been able to duplicate them in the Mount Kisco spot, Lefteris Gyro II. In terms of positives, they do give you a ton of food for the price but it's mainly a case of quantity over quality. While I've enjoyed the Gyro platters, the rice is almost always bland and nearly tasteless. Sides of broccoli are usually covered in so much garlic and butter that the taste of broccoli is nearly unrecognizable underneath it all. Similarly, orders of shrimp were prepared almost the same way. If you are ordering delivery or take out, you can be almost assured that your steak fries will arrive home completely soggy and steamed over. I'll probably give it another shot at some point and hopefully it will compare more favorably with the quality I've come to experience in the Tarrytown branch. read more

I was there yesterday, after i read the reviews and i was sure that I'm going to enjoy this dinner. OMG BAD BAD BAD. I'm a restaurant freak and i ate in a lot of Greek restaurants, that was by far the worst. The food was not fresh. we took as appetizers taramasalata ( taste like from a can), tzatziki ( yogurt with nothing) and humus from a can for sure the fishes was cooked in advance and just heated for us it was dry. the kids like the souvlaki, however the chop lambs were dry and the spice.... you got my point. don't go there all those reviewers you don't know what is a good Greek food ( ASTORIA- NY). and to think that they have 3 different locations. read more

I've been here before and it has been ok up until today. I called in an order for lunch and the guy hung up the phone on me before I could ask to pay over the phone. So I called back and asked if I could give my credit card. The guy who picked up was different but he was literally bickering with me about why I wanted to pay over the phone? Do I really need to explain myself on that part? He literally asked "why" and said "well is it not you whose coming?" "you're coming in anyway, right?" After this back and forth I told him to cancel the order. So much for customer service. I really shouldn't have to argue with you about PAYING for an order. read more

service was ok, food ok but a lot of space for improvements. Pros - Greek salad was awesome - it was the best thing tonight. In general portions are really big and prices are reasonable. Cons - My calamari dish with french fries was really bland and not salty at all! even tomato sauce that came with it - all just almost total absence of salt or other spices. i have tried my friends spinach(to check if its my "taste perception" tonight or my dish) and it was ok (actually it has too much garlic in it for my taste but this is "personal") it was nicely spiced and salted. So it was my dish for sure. my friend complained that her moussaka was lukewarm and more on a cold side. it tasted ok, but was not enjoyable because of temperature. read more

Food is sub-par Greek. Some good options on the menu and would rate higher except the service at this location is not good. They are rude when there are problems with your order and don't act as though they value anyone as a customer that may return to their establishment. They bank off of being the only Greek in town. Ordering over the phone is impossible with the language barrier and staff laughs at you if there is an issue. Overall, ridiculous. Go to one of the hundreds of other places quick to treat you well and value your business. read more

Been a loyal customer for years of all Lefteris locations. Called today at 8 months pregnant to see if someone could put the food in my trunk (ya know, because we are in the middle of a global pandemic) and the woman who answered the phone was beyond rude. I had to beg for them to place it in my car, which I pulled up directly in front of the restaurant. She came and threw the car in my trunk and wouldn't say a word to me. Never again!! The lamb gyro sandwich I had here was fantastic! It was huge and delicious and very filling. If I were just rating the food, I'd easily give them 4 or 4.5 stars. But I had to knock it down to 3 stars for service. I came in for dinner with my two young children and we were promptly seated. Our waiter seemed very impatient. Like it was a major inconvenience to ask a question and he was literally ordering for me/finishing my sentence and walking away. After that I grabbed a take out menu so I could really get a look at the menu. I wanted to order some hummus while we waited for our food, but despite my trying to get his attention, it was as though he was deliberately avoiding eye contact. I then flagged down another waitress to ask for the hummus. Long story short...we never got the hummus, we never got my daughter's milk, but we were in and out quickly and the gyro and grilled cheese were great (fries were only ok). read more

The food here is delicious and I always try to make a stop in here when visiting family in northern Westchester. I love to share the cheese saganaki appetizer and then eat an abundant greek salad. The food strikes me as authentic and fresh. I've been coming in since high school and it's the one part I miss about living in Westchester! I was visiting town and of course went in with an open mind, hoping for a nice experience and delicious meal. The service is great, friendly and fast. No issues there. The best item I had was the stuffed grape leaves. As a vegetarian felafel and soup are what I'm giving most feedback on. The felafel is dry, oversized and does not have a very good flavor. They serve a large portion. The Tadzhiki sauce they serve liberally has no flavor whatsoever so is completely bland. Hummus could not be more plain and bland. Soup was also mushy and bland. There was a drip from the sealing that I thought smelled quite bad. That spoiled everything. Sorry, I will not be back. read more

Been to Lefteris Gyro twice now. A must try if you are anywhere near Mount Kisco. The waiter (who I believe was the owner) had a fantastic sense of humor. Every time he visited our table, he left with us with a dry comment in his Greek accent that really made the meal an experience for us. I was fairly full when I went to this cute little Greek restaurant with my friends and ordered the Avgolemono Soup. The menu described the soup as "Chicken chunks with egg-lemon sauce with rice." I dipped the seemingly endless amounts of pita bread we were given as an appetizer into the soup and it made for the perfect meal. Portion sizes are HUMUNGOUS! Best french fries I've had in a while. Also, get the lamb...in any form. Very high quality. Overally, 5 out of 5 stars. Well-priced, fast service, delicious food. read more

The food here is amazing and the price is even better. My dad and I love to come here when we don't feel like cooking. I love the chicken souvlaki and the French fries (lol). One of our favorite places. Love the choices of greek food, great service, café style setting. Feels like you are in a café in Greece. Sad that George is no longer there as he really added to the place, but there are some other good waiters still there. In the past I would have given this Greek restaurant 4 stars however we we're disappointed tonight. We decided to order a different appetizer. We ordered the spinach pie. It came out in about 60 seconds. That was a sign that something wasn't right. When I went to cut into it- the dough was complete rubber. Really? You put food in the mircrowave?!? Inexcusable. The gyros were very good however our town diner's gyros may be just as good. Bottom line- stick to the Greek salad and gyro on the menu. read more

Inexpensive, large portions, excellent service. My favorites: hummus, grilled cheese, saganaki cheese, Bacon Cheeseburger, Greek coffee. . . Shrimp stick. The veggies on the side of the platters are great too (yummy spinach pie!) In fact, I like everything on the menu except for the dandelion greens. Although you might want to avoid the peak times because it does get crowded, most of the time they can seat you immediately and have food on the table in less than five minutes. Take out is best to call ahead and pick up and has slightly smaller portions. Family owned, and family friendly. We were in the mood for something other than our typical go to's - Italian/American/Mexican neighborhood restaurants, so Lefteris Gyro's it was! Had only been there one time many years ago and I wasn't sure why we never returned because I didn't recall having a hard opinion then-one way or the other. Well I guess for us, that hasn't changed. Waitstaff friendly. Restaurant is clean. Food is plentiful (large portions)...but after eating our DELICIOUS and flavorful appetizers, Avegolmano Soup, Vegetable Soup and the Mambaildi(stewed eggplant, squash in red sauce w/melted feta- all so yummy) our palates were left to wonder what the heck happened? Not bad, not good- just bland all around the table- from the 2 Gyro platters, to the Chicken Souvlaki platter to the Beef Souvlaki platter. Perhaps a heavier hand on any of the seasonings (didn't taste as though any were used) would have probably made for a delightful experience. Not sure if this was an off night or if this is standard? And then only because I'd forgotten (and truth be told I'm the only one in our group that enjoys a glass of vino with my meal ha ha) this restaurant does not serve alcohol/beer/wine. For some this could be a make or break, so just thought I'd mention. Honestly, we're on the fence about whether or not we'd return.
