On my lunch break, I was Yelp'ing nearby Thai restaurants and decided on Lemongrass Cafe. Unbeknownst to me, they reopened just a few days ago and have moved to another location next door. The interior decor is just so picturesque and pretty! (All of the chandeliers, SAH CUATE.) Ambience was relaxing and music was wonderful. French music was playing by two of my favorite artists: Françoise Hardy and Madeleine Peyroux. During this time of the day, I was the only customer in the restaurant so I thought to myself, "What a perfect opportunity to snap and share a ton of photos for my fellow Yelpers." ;) My eyes (and growling stomach) first became fixated on the Agedashi Tofu Provolone Wrap, but the waiter suggested the Sesame Chicken Milanaise which is 'a pan-fried panko-crusted tender chicken with an organic salad and lemon beurre blanc sauce'. I loved the colorful salad with its flavorful, citrus dressing whereas I thought the chicken had too mild of a taste. Regardless I still finished it lol. At the end of my lunch, the waiter asked me if I would like coffee but if you know me, you know I love my tea. He brought out a box of tea and I chose the Ginger Twist from Mighty Leaf. It was a nice finish to a good meal, but I thought it was a little pricey for a stitched tea bag. All things considered, I would return to try something different and also bring my friends and family because I think the menu offers a variety of options from vegan, spicy, gluten-free to even this Kobe Beef Burger that might sound very appealing for some meat lovers. Not even exaggerating when I say this; seriously the best food I've tasted in FOREVER! We had the pan-fried dumplings for an appetizer, so flavorful! For an entree I got the sesame chicken milanese and wow, just wow! We had the lemon berry cake for desert, not too heavy at all. I can't say enough good things. Ordered the fried shrimp ($14) and the plate only came with 3 pieces. The beef satay was tasty with the peanut sauce and roti. The cup of tom yum soup was very, very sad. Little to no seasoning, over powered by ginger/lime/lemongrass and was served luke warm. The seafood clay pot was fair, compensated by lots of bell pepper and not enough seafood. Sorry, the staff seemed very nice, but the pad Thai was not good at all. Additionally, they charge $3 extra to add shrimp to the pad Thai (no other meat included) which is 3 tiny shrimps on a skewer. There was a stale or musty smell inside the restaurant. I think the server knew we were not happy since most of the food was left on the table, but wasn't quite sure how to tell him it was no good. Lemongrass is one of those places where you find yourself coming back to again and again. I've been coming here since they opened many years ago, and their food has remained consistent, always fresh, and always tasty. Curry crab firecrackers are a favorite, the delicate dinner rolls they serve are addictive, and they have a flavor for practically every palate. Massaman curry is a favorite of mine, and now they serve it with roti, a nice traditional Thai touch! Even more intriguing are their great desserts. I'm not an egg eater, so next time I'll ask for it without the egg crepe. The Asian salad was fresh and tasty with a variety of greens, roasted cashews, tomatoes, and a nice dressing. The blossom rolls are always winners. The wonderful dipping sauce that comes with them is especially good. I ordered 4 rolls, and the sauce container held only enough for 3 rolls. I noticed they have a slightly different menu for dinner than lunch which is a nice touch. It made me try a few new items for lunch that I wasn't planning on. I always order the tuna tartar but it wasn't available during the lunch hours so we picked the chicken avocado sandwich and shrimp pad thai. Both solid. And the sticky rice and mango was sooo good. Lemongrass has been one of our "go to"dining spots for more than 10 years. Recently reopened after an extended absence due to total reconstruction of their Bellaire strip center. Consistently delicious with mostly Asian fusion food; their braised lamb shank is incredible if you like lamb/fresh fish dishes/ unique approach to Pad Thai. Older children welcome. The new Lemongrass is more intimate and noise level is such that one actually have a pleasant conversation! BC construction is ongoing on the rest of the center finding the parking area is daunting; that should resolve in a few months. It's definitely worth the search! read more

Ordered the Massaman Chicken Curry. Curry sauce had large chunks of onion and whole carrot halves with tops. A whole chicken leg was plopped on top that wasn't stewed with the curry. Had to debone/slice the chicken leg and slice the carrots. Curry was very mild and temperature not hot. Much better food at the Thai restaurant close by. read more

I have been wanting to do a better job supporting local businesses. Went on a Friday eve around 545p for outdoor dining. There was maybe one other family dining inside. As much as I wanted to love everything, I just couldn't. The ceviche appetizer, though, was excellent! So fresh! Would be nice if it was accompanied by something nice to dip with. The dumplings were good but the crab firecrackers just didn't have much flavor to us at all. Entrees - salad, pad Thai and lamb were all decent but not mind blowing. I appreciated the covid precautions (silverware and plates wrapped nicely!) and seeing masked employees! Service was slow, but I get it - staffing situations... and we were in no big rush. Located in the heart of Bellaire near the Bellaire triangle and next door to Auntie Pasto's, Lemongrass is a great lunchtime stop - and a wonderful choice for a business lunch meeting. I have been a couple of times and have been very happy with the food and service. They offer a gourmet menu with lots of fresh ingredients without the gourmet prices. Don't be fooled by the name though - it is not a typical Asian menu. They offer fusion dishes and the variety should satisfy most palettes including vegetarian. As you wait for a meal, be sure to savor the slightly sweet, light, layered roll offered at every meal (it's even better dipped in the herbed olive oil on the plate). Both of them are amazing especially Tuna Tartare, gave this order two thumbs up!!!! However, the portion for salad is too big. I think it's better for sharing. I also order Chang beer which is a number 1 selling beer in Thailand. It is very nice, crisp, and give me a clean palette after drink it. The service is better than the best. Servers are all nice and professional. Restaurant decoration is also nice and cozy. It doesn't make me feel pack even in their busy time. Overall, I couldn't ask for more!
