If I was to translate this you would receive a 1/2 tray of scrambled eggs and your choice of pancakes or french toast. What we received was 1/8 of a tray of scrambled eggs and 6 halves of french toast. Granted the food was good, I just don't think we received what we should have. read more

The food was excellent, however who wants to pay $19.15 for a chicken wrap? When I questioned the price, the woman in charge had a nasty attitude and began arguing with me. We have gone to Lenape Grill multiple times and have been usually satisfied with quality of food and service. Our visit today was less than satisfactory. Our server notified us that we would need to request pickles as they were no longer routinely plating them due to most people not eating them- understandable. I ordered a gyro and asked for extra tzatziki - the servicer did not tell me that there would be an additional $1.95 charge. When the owner was asked about this he stated that greek yogurt is very expensive- that is not a satisfactory explanation for charging almost $2 for less than a quarter of a cup of yogurt which was not even very good- They have lost customers over this. A notch higher than your average diner. I've never had a bad dish here and am actually surprised at the quality they're able to produce in spite of their large menu. In fact, the menu is so large that anyone could be happy, from someone who is looking to classic diner food to anyone else looking for trendier dishes. I'm still sick to my stomach over how the trashy owner treated me and my family today & I'm hoping this deters someone else from wasting their money at this dump! First off, the tables are squished together. I was touching elbows with the couple next to us. Then all hell broke loose once the food came out. The kid's meal came out first & the taylor ham was completely charred. We asked for a new one. Then our food arrived. My husband's so called milanese salad? Lettuce, about 30 whole tomatoes, 3 shreds of cheese, and chicken. When we questioned why it was not as described on the menu... the trashy owner goes "what do you mean? Everyone raves about this salad!" Lmao, not sure what they're raving about. We asked for well done bacon and it was gooey. The food was cold... AND the bacon in my omelette was raw! So we let the owner know that we'd pay for our drinks but were not paying for that disgusting food. He proceeded to call the police to "report a theft" LOL pretty sure we were still there, ate nothing, were sure as hell not ordering anything else AND AGAIN offered to pay for the drinks. Some hostess and a waitress decided to get involved too (not sure why). Three police cars showed up. We explained what happened and they agreed it was also not a theft because- hi!- still here trying to sort it out. Since it was not worth it to make a scene, and apparently the owner was so hard up for a $57 bill, we went inside to pay. He was cursing up a storm, saying he didn't want us back in there. I was confused... did he want us to pay or not?!? He made a whole big stink about the bill when a normal manager would have just understood it didn't work out and let us pay the drinks. If we finished the meal, or just one meal was messed up... ok I'll give it to you. But everything? Nah. And on top of it you want to call the police and make a scene at your own business? That's on you. But good job! Hopefully everyone sees what classless, thirsty, unprofessional losers run this place and avoid going there. Keep driving to Oakland Diner and save yourself the aggravation. Maybe have some room to actually eat in peace! read more

Delicious food ,generous portions and good service! My favorite is the Dinner specials .The grilled Salmon and grilled vegetables are excellent The lunch Shrimp salad is the best. Hostess is always very pleasant and servers are nice. Atmosphere and cleanliness are good. Ramapo Valley Diner/Lenape Valley Grill misses on the small things consistently. Asking for crispy bacon two different times in a row delivers non-crispy bacon. The table across from me was perfect this morning - probably just an order error with my server(s). The waffle, though, was doughy. My wife described her French toast as doughy too. If we go back, I would go with an omelette. This place still rates higher than the Oakland Diner, but is light years behind JD's. This is our back-up when JD's is closed. read more

I used to come here when I was younger. It was originally named hens roost. The food is still great and service is way better here than Oakland Diner. I visited here about two weeks ago with my wonderful mommy. She ordered ham and cheese in French toast and I had French toast and an egg platter with meat. Yeah I was hungry!! Be careful about the prices on the menu. When you get your bill they may list your order with a higher price. This happened to me with the bill showing a one dollar higher price than what the menu stated. When I went to pay and told the clerk that the menu price was one dollar lower, the manager jumped in and pointed to a little sticker near the cash register that said due to inflation, prices may vary. Not acceptable. Change your menus or tell the wait staff to inform patrons that the prices may be different than what is on the menu. The manager in a reluctant way said that he would charge me what the menu said THIS TIME. I doubt there will be a NEXT TIME. read more

My family and I had a lovely experience here. We were seated right away and they happily let us sit close to the door to accommodate for my grandma with a walker. The staff were very attenentive and and super nice. They even offered to take a picture of us when they saw us trying to take a group selfie. I was happy to see that there were more vegan options on this menu than I am used to seeing at other diners. I chose the veggie burger and I was happy with it! We have visited many diners lately. Keeping it simple, we don't order prime rib, triple decker sandwiches or Italian specialties. Strictly breakfast foods, chicken wings. Some places get it just exactly perfect. Some places fail miserably. Others are ok. Lenape falls in the ok category. My omelette was ok. The hash browns were of the shredded variety and had very little taste. The english muffin needed more toasting time. My Dad's ham sandwich was fine but it was weird to learn from our server that the kitchen would not put mayo on the bread-he could do it himself. I'm sure there is a reason for that. Good coffee. Prompt arrival of the food. A great server. Very personable and eager to please. Wish I remembered his name. Perhaps we will stop in again if we are in the area. read more

We Ordered food and it was really good! I recommend ordering over the phone though because grubhub messed up with us and we had to go pick it up. The quesadilla was tasty and the coleslaw. I always enjoy breakfast at the Lenape, but have never had dinner. I was pleased to see outdoor dining offered behind the building under a large tent. Plenty of fans available. I wish I took pictures of our meals. I had the mango chicken salad. It was HUGE with lots of chicken, large portion of avocado, no skimping on the walnuts, and delicious ginger dressing over fresh greens. This use to be our spot for early lunch on Saturdays but the quality has declined significantly in the last few months. Once well seasoned food has become either bland or tasted off. Ordered the French onion soup and tasted exactly like Italian dressing. Complained to management but only offered replacement. Rice and salmon kabob has been consistently overcooked/bland. Breakfast pancakes, French toast and potatoes were borderline inedible for being dry. Went here 3-times in a row before swearing off from here forever only because it has been so good in the past. I have ordered Take Out from here quite a few times. They have 1/2 tray specials that are excellent. The Chicken Francese was so good. The side of pasta was not overcooked. Fed my family for 2 nights. Price is $25.99 and so worth it! You can't feed a family for 2 nights for $25.99 anywhere! If you are in Oakland, check them out! Terrible. I ordered a Margharita pizza. I got a regular pizza on ready made frozen crust. I spoke to the owner and told him this is not a Margherita pie. He said yes it was and tried to defend it. What I was served was grated crappy mozzarella cheese on thin tomato sauce. Well duh! That is any pizza! Shredded mozzarella on red sauce on a ten inch pre frozen pie crust . The reason I know it was pre frozen is bcaust it looked and tasted like any pie you would get the freezer at shop rite. I sent it back and explained that a Margharita pie is FRESH tomato or sauce, Real Mozzarella (wet) and basil. There wasn't even any basil on the pie. I walked out and went to Lucas down the road where they do it right. I should have just gone there first. How the heck do you own a restaurant , advertise brick oven pizza and not know what a Margharita Pizza is? SMH read more

My family frequents the diner quite often, it has always been a nice experience and the quality of food is good. My Father always enjoys going for the early bird specials until the other day when they went at 5:45pm and he was told they can't get the early bird because it's too close to 6pm and the diner is making changes! Unfortunately that is poor customer service and was enough to make my parents go elsewhere for their diner experience. There are 50 diners within 15 miles. You would think they would want to keep formerly loyal customers. Young managers need to understand what customer service is all about. Not too good customer service. Waitress wouldn't leave us alone when we had our food. But when we needed a check we had to wait forever. We needed to split the check and some guy said he couldn't do that and then we had to talk to another waitress to split it up. Food was adequate. Definitely not a solid experience. read more
