Spinach Linguine Carbonara
Michael R.

What a winner this place was. If I lived in hoboken it would become an easy go to spot! Our waitress was so nice and helpful and every part of the meal was fantastic. Their bread was freshly baked, the meatballs in red sauce were delicious, the clams oregenata were shucked fresh and nicely breaded. The chicken Milanese was our favorite entree the chicken cutlets were nice and crispy! The spinach carbonara was good but it was more like a vodka sauce than a carbonara but we enjoyed it anyways. Would highly recommend trying to anyone in the area, even the prices were super reasonable.

The best desserts in Hoboken. Nanny celebrating her birthday at her favorite spot Leo's.

My #1 Italian food restaurant choice. Love the Cavetelli and broccoli and stuffed Calamari. I've been going here since I was a baby. 60 years and loving it. My grandmother Mary Pepe passed at 99 and 1/2 and this was her favorite spot. It's like having dinner with your family but better because they can't fight in public. Bring cash and Don't try to jump the line, sit at the bar, have a bar pie and enjoy the wait.

The food is authentic Italian food , they have specials everyday and everything is always well seasoned. The service is always so great , Linda is one of our favorites haha we always have such fun times with her . Definitely a great place to go for food , drinks and just a great experience . P.S: We Love Leo's

An iconic Italian restaurant in Hoboken. While unassuming on the outside, this Sinatra-dedicated restaurant serves authentic Italian food in a cozy environment. Their food is delicious; however, the prices are a little more expensive for the amount of food (I had the Sinatra Gamberi). Their wines are full of flavor and they provide full glasses. But I will say that the service is impeccable. The staff are extraordinarily friendly, full of heart, and for some of the locals, know them by name. While it is a small restaurant, reservations are not accepted, so be sure to get there early to get a seat.

A classic Hoboken Italian restaurant with cozy Sinatra-infused vibes! I surveyed the Hoboken Sailing Club members to see what people thought was the most Hoboken-y Italian restaurant in Hoboken because I had family coming in from California. Leo's was one of the top suggestions and it was exactly what we were looking for. The restaurant is bustling and has a welcoming, warm ambiance. There are string lights that adorn the old school tin ceiling and the bar has a nice energy to it. The food is your standard Italian fare. I got the eggplant parm with linguini and thought it was pretty solid. The service was fast and the staff is friendly. I had called a few days earlier to see if they took reservations. They do not so I asked about wait times and the helpful guy on the phone said "it depends on when you come in and how many in your party but we do have a full bar and fast turnover". He was right! No wait for us on a Friday night (part of five) and the food came out relatively quick. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a classic old Hoboken spot with decent food, cozy Sinatra vibes, and nice service!

Great food! Great service! The atmosphere is great! Definitely would go back if I lived in the area.

Fantastic option for a cozy and traditional Italian meal in Hoboken! Ambiance - very homey and classic vibe. The Frank Sinatra memorabilia is a nice touch! Service - We came on a Saturday night and there was no wait for a table. Food came out hot and very quickly. Our server was very nice and helpful. I wanted to order the Tri Gnocchi that comes with pesto, pomodoro, and alfredo sauce, but mentioned that I didn't like alfredo sauce. He said they could easily replace the alfredo with vodka sauce which was awesome! Food - Apps: Caprese Salad and Deep Fried Ravioli - the caprese salad was very fresh and tasty. I wish they had added some basil on top, but overall it was nice! The deep fried ravioli left much to be desired. It was very lightly fried and did not have the crunchy exterior that I was looking for. Would definitely skip the fried ravioli as an app. Main: Tri Gnocchi (sub Alfredo for Vodka sauce) - this was absolutely delicious!! The pesto sauce was perfectly herby and garlicky. The vodka sauce was creamy, but not too heavy. The pomodoro sauce provided an acidic balance to the other sauces. Would highly recommend this dish if you're craving multiple types of sauces! TL;DR - cute place for a casual Italian meal! Would skip the fried ravioli but recommend the Tri Gnocchi!

This is a place to definitely go and sit down and enjoy the decor, it's a treat (all Frank Sinatra everything, jukebox, huge rounded bar, hanging lights, stained glass!). I got a chicken parm sub to ago around 5pm on a Thursday. The staff was nice. The meal tastes homemade.

First impression of the restaurant, there is a lot of seating and everyone was nice! We didn't know we came for happy hour so that was a happy surprise, we ended up ordering the shrimp app on the happy hour menu and it was DELICIOUS, then we got the spicy rigatoni with grilled and breaded chicken. Also AMAZING! Talk about huge portions, honestly we should have shared (rookie mistake on our part) but the portions for the money is such a good deal. We had a lot of left overs we can't wait to eat this week! We will for sure be back to try everything else on the menu.

My friend who lives in Hoboken gave me a few options for Italian restaurants and Il Taviola took reservations, had space for us, and had a very good menu at decent prices. I had thought I had never been to Il Taviola before. But the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was like, well, actually I have been here before and I just straight up forgot. Woops. Well, it was a pleasant surprise to be back and I actually had an even better time this time than last time. I had the spicy chicken parm with rigatoni and wow, it was actually quite spicy. It was really good, but super spicy! My SFIL absolutely loved it though and killed the rest of my dish that I couldn't finish. Most of the group had the lamb ragu orecchiette and thought it was quite good. Both burrata appetizers were really good and thoroughly liked by the table. Service was attentive and we were never rushed. I really enjoyed that the restaurant wasn't super crowded. There were other tables but they were far away enough that we didn't feel like we were on top of each other.

We were super impressed with Otto Strada. We arrived early on a Friday and were happy there was no wait. Reservations are not accepted. We chose outside seating and we got a lovely seat in the shade under the covered area. We were greeted by Jeremy who offered us water. He was friendly and we had a nice conversation. He was new with the restaurant, but knew the menu well. It's nice to see a young man working and have pride in his job. Our waiter Chris arrived soon after. He was a great waiter. He was also super friendly and was able to help us navigate the menu and helped me with Gluten free options. We opted for the pear salad. I got a limoncello chicken and my husband got a pork chop. All the food was super delicious. It's a challenge for me to get a good meal being gf and dairy free now and this was perfection. Chris was able to put things on the side and recommended the perfect dishes! We had dessert also which was a GF banana cake with Gelato. It was delish. My only complaint was I thought the desserts were small and a little pricey. If priced a little less, we would have ordered 2 or 3. All in all it was a perfect experience and evening, and we will be back soon! Highly recommend!

A quick TikTok search led us to this little gem, and it ended up being the perfect choice for our group. The restaurant is small, cozy, and has such a welcoming feel. We ordered several things to share, which I loved because it gave everyone the chance to try a little bit of everything. The pasta was definitely the star of the meal. It was perfectly chewy and cooked just right--not overcooked or mushy. Honestly, the pasta deserved a show of its own! We also enjoyed the focaccia and the bread-and-butter spread, which were both delicious. The chicken, however, wasn't my favorite. If I had to order it again, I probably would have skipped it and just focused on the pasta and other dishes. My cousin also ordered a pizza, and it looked absolutely delicious and filling. There was plenty to go around, and we even had leftovers to enjoy later. Overall, this was such a great find, especially for a group with different tastes and dietary preferences. I'm really glad that random TikTok search brought us here!

I…read morehad been eager to try their pies, as well as their full meals, but only just made it to their dimly lit, hip and happening main dining room. The space was not large, but they really made the most of it, offering a decent number of tables with reasonable space between them. My friend and I were quickly seated and immediately greeted by a charming server that opened our bottle of wine (it's BYO) and offered us still or sparkling water. I had read in other reviews that you had to pay for water, so I was not surprised by the $6 bottle of Saratoga that wound up on our bill. In addition to our engaging server and the happening atmosphere, the food was similarly incredible. We decided to order a load of things to share, so that we could try a greater variety. We started with two appetizers that were seasonal Spring additions to the menu. The Hamachi Crudo included five thickly-sliced, tender pieces of Japanese yellowtail sitting in a broth of rhubarb aguachile and topped with white strawberries and basil seeds. It was an unique blend that we would not have expected to work, but boy was it delicious! The sweet toppings infused a load of flavor into an otherwise mild fish. We also enjoyed the Fava-mole, a creamy puree of fava beans studded with balls of hand-pulled mozzarella and pea tendrils, all drizzled with zesty ramp oil. I had not been sure what to expect from the dish, but it offered fresh, bright garden flavors. We also decided to share a pasta course and an entree. The Fettuccini was tossed with spring truffles and maitakes in a light, yet heavily aromatic, wild mushroom cream sauce. It was one of the best dishes I had had in quite some time. Then, as we were waiting on our seafood entree, we received a second pasta, courtesy of the Chef. I had mentioned that I had heard rave reviews about Flour from a server at Heirloom Kitchen, a top NJ restaurant. Apparently, our waiter had let the Chef know about that glowing praise, and the kitchen further verified that positivity with the generous gesture. In fact, they wound up sending out the Linguine with white clam sauce, razor clams, and wild ramps, the other dish about which I had been most curious anyway. Well, it was another winner! It was garlicky, herbaceous, and rich with flavors of the sea. Speaking of seafood, we next received the Branzino 'Bahn mi', a perfectly cooked piece of Mediterranean sea bass with Vietnamese sausage and pickled vegetables. The branzino's crispy skin and flaky, moist interior were excellent, and we loved all of the other smoky and briny flavors on the plate. After all of that excellent food, we would have loved to try one of their appealing desserts, but we were just too full. Between the ambiance, welcoming vibe, and delicious cuisine, our Flour experience was simply divine! It has now became one of my favorite restaurants in the area, and I cannot wait to try their pizza at some point as well.

I was a big fan of both, especially the ricotta, which was so incredibly creamy. For the mains, everyone's fresh-made pasta was excellent. I ordered the Mexican street corn, which was unique, flavorful, and delicious. I also tried some of the spicy rigatoni and loved it. We ended the night with the s'mores dessert, which was rich and chocolatey. Also, the fact that the restaurant is BYOB is a huge plus! The only downside was that I lost an item during our visit. I had a really hard time finding their contact information online, so I had to go back in person to ask about it, which was a bit annoying. Ultimately, they weren't able to recover it, but the food itself was still outstanding.
