This hidden gem tucked inside the Hollywood Roosevelt is an absolute must-visit if you're staying at the hotel--or even if you're just in the neighborhood looking for a truly unique cocktail experience. The Library Bar is small, intimate, and effortlessly cool, with dim lighting, vintage vibes, and an atmosphere that feels both upscale and unpretentious. Open Thursday through Sunday evenings, it's the kind of place you want to linger. There's no printed menu--instead, one of their highly skilled mixologists asks you a few thoughtful questions and creates a drink tailored exactly to your taste. It's a personalized, artful experience--and our cocktails were nothing short of spectacular. There's no food served, but that honestly wasn't an issue. This is the perfect spot for a date night or a quiet, elevated way to unwind after a day exploring Hollywood. Our only regret? We didn't make it back for a second visit. If you appreciate craftsmanship in a glass, cozy ambience, and great conversation, Library Bar delivers all of that and more. A true standout.

Great spot hidden away off the lobby of the Roosevelt. Thomas did a fantastic job curating cocktails all night. I had to go back a second night just to see what else he would come up with. If you don't know. There is no menu, you just tell him what you like in terms of favorite cocktails or flavor profiles and he goes to work. The most fun option though is to just roll the dice and let him come up with something. This will definitely be a regular stop when I'm in LA.

Thomas is the best mixologist with great service! Highly recommend if you want a unique drink tailored to your personal taste

I came here with my friend and Thomas hooked it up! He curated drinks to perfection and he was super personable, and fun to chat with. We just let Thomas know our preferred liquor/flavor profiles, and he was able to whip up amazing concoctions. We were staying at the hotel and happened to come across this place, which was quiet, intimate, and a cool speakeasy vibe. We look forward to coming back!

It was an amazing place to go to just to have a chill night out. Went there on a double date and had a great time. Food was good but the cocktails were even better. The bartender was great person with an amazing attitude and fun person to talk to. Definitely recommend for a nice little night out

Peach/Cheesecake flavored drink by Michael the Bartender

Just wanted to say that Michael, the bartender here, is without a doubt the best bartender I've ever encountered. Not to mention, he was super nice and accommodating to my friend and I. Don't get me wrong, I've met bartenders / mixologists who are really good and amazing at what they do, but this guy is on another level; he's so committed to his craft, and the amount of attention to detail is astounding. You will never find a bartender like him, nor will you ever have a drink like this guy can give you. He asked me what kind of dessert I like, so I said cheesecake, and then I also mentioned that I love peaches. so this guy whips out a jar of fermented peaches and made me a peach/cheesecake flavored drink. Without a doubt the best drink I've ever had in my life. Do yourself a favor and go try a drink at this place; the bartender's name is Michael.

If you ever come when Thomas is here you are in treat! He is the best mixologist I have met. Customer service is above anything I have encountered. Great guy!!!

I wandered into this place to kill a little time before a show expecting to get my typical go to- Scotch, neat. Then I see this guy whipping up a cocktail for someone with great intensity. He changed my mind before we even made eye contact. The bartender/mixologist Michael is a genius. The bespoke cocktail he made me was probably the best cocktail I've ever had. I'm dead serious. Show's over, it's just after midnight, just got home, and felt like I needed to give this guy some props before I went to sleep. I highly recommend a visit or two to this tiny, cool, little speakeasy of a bar. This is the way it should be done. Someone meet me here for a drink. You'll see what I mean.

Great burger, great service, and the drinks were delicious. It was not loud but it does have limited space in the book section.

This was the perfect date night spot for my boyfriend and I. We grabbed drinks here before watching Harry Potter at the Pantages theater. Let me tell you.. we had the best time! This bar is unique in that there is menu and drinks are created especially for you according to your pallet. The drinks we had were amazing and we had the best experience with both mixologists. We loved telling them what types of drinks we enjoyed and having them create something unique just for us. The price is most definitely worth it. We both agreed this would be our new spot for a yummy cocktail! I highly recommend if you enjoy yummy cocktails and are open to trying something new.

Michael is by far the most talented bartender we have encountered. His art in cocktail was incomparable, every drink was tailor-made and one of a kind! What an amazing evening.

Talk about a Hollywood gem! Had a profound time at the library speakeasy in the Hollywood Roosevelt! The Hollywood Roosevelt has and always will have a very special place in my heart. When I first visited Los Angeles back in 2021 before moving here, I spent my very first night at this hotel. I was thrilled to hear about the library reopening. I can tell this is going to be my new spot. The bartender Michael went above and beyond. I could feel that he truly make a great effort to make every single guest feel welcomed and like family. The drinks were absolutely incredible. I tried to stop at two, but I kept having more! I just had such a wonderful time and didn't want to leave. That in my opinion is what truly defines a special experience. Can't wait to come back! I'm so grateful that I live so close to this very special gem!

There is a theme (and entire experience) to each drink. The food is likewise excellent. The hot dogs from Tail o'the Pup are some of the best in the city and you can order directly from the downstairs hot spot, or order from the tailored menu to fit the tiki theme. Once you're allowed entry, you are immediately transported to another world via beautifully decorated stairs to the check-in desk. The decor has got to be one of the best looking tiki bars out there. Wow, they hit this out of the park. The drink and food menu is fantastic in a wood covered binder. Naturally, we ordered the standard Mai Tai to start. The Lucky Tiki's take on the traditional 1944 Trader Vic Mai Tai is fantastic. Each Mai Tai comes with the Lucky Tiki swizzle stick and I happily kept the 3 we ordered to display in our home Tiki Bar. The wife ordered a second one while I took the waitress' recommendation and ordered The Maverick ("A Renegade of Rums, Cinnamon Syrup, White Grapefruit & Lime Juice, A Bold, Fiery, and Unapologetically Wild Ride, This Cocktail is for Those Who Live By Their Own Rules")...and coincidentally, this applies to me perfectly. The Maverick was awesome and came complete with a show of fire. We also ordered the Potstickers which were fantastic, especially dipped in their garlic teriyaki sauce. Wow! The atmosphere is immersive, theatrical, moody, and every nook and cranny of this place is beautifully detailed. Our group embraced the requested all-black dress code, and I was a little disappointed that some other guests didn't play along. When a place puts this much effort into creating a particular world, dressing the part really does make the experience more fun. The spirits themselves were excellent. We tasted vodka, whiskey, and rum, and all three were remarkably smooth, interesting, and clearly very high quality. I loved that the tasting was guided rather than just having drinks dropped in front of us. The storytelling and presentation made us pay attention to what we were actually tasting and gave the evening a nice sense of progression. We also happened to be there while comic artist Matt Harley of Marvel fame was sketching, which felt perfectly suited to the setting and made an already unusual night even more memorable. The space is gorgeous: candlelight, artwork, strange little details everywhere, dramatic lighting, beautiful glassware, and even the outdoor fire element. There's so much to look at that you feel like you're discovering something new every time you turn around. Our whole group LOVES Halloween, so this felt like the absolute perfect way to kick off spooky season. It has exactly the kind of dark, mysterious, slightly magical atmosphere we were hoping for without feeling cheesy or gimmicky. We loved the rum so much that we ended up buying a bottle, which also granted us Level 1 membership, so this definitely won't be our only visit. Such a fun choice for a birthday celebration, date night, or a night out with friends when you want something completely different from the usual bar experience. We're already looking forward to going back and seeing what our new membership unlocks.

We were honestly falling asleep waiting for the actual entertainment to begin. The entire night felt chaotic from the moment we arrived. You spend time getting dressed up, planning a date night, driving downtown, and trying to be excited for the experience, only to park in a dark lot with feces and urine in the stairway. It was scary and disgusting. We looked past the parking lot situation because we were excited to enjoy our night out, but unfortunately the experience only got worse from there. The waitress kept pushing us to order more items, which made the whole night feel like a money grab. The food was absolutely embarrassing and nothing like what was advertised in the gallery photos on the website. It honestly felt like it came straight from Costco. Other reviews mentioned food being served on paper plates, and we can confirm that we experienced that too. The slice of pizza was literally Costco pizza. The pizza and snacks were cheap, low-quality, and nowhere near what you would expect for the price. It really makes you wonder how many people feel misled by that kind of advertising. There was also a complete lack of control and management. People who did not pay for reserved seating were hovering nearby, ready to take your seat the second you got up to use the restroom or go to the dance floor. We saw multiple people weasel their way into reserved lounge and table areas on the ground floor. At one point, a couple was even going through someone's fur coat and looked close to taking belongings before the actual couple returned. That alone says a lot about the environment and lack of security. The billing situation made it even worse. The waitress quickly skipped through the itemized receipt, which made it easy to miss that a 20% tip had already been included. We ended up tipping on top of the included gratuity and only realized it afterward. At that point, we felt completely scammed. We spent over $300, and the overall experience and management were absolutely not worth it. To be fair, some of the acts were great and the band was great. Separate from that, everything else was as mentioned. Between the deceptive billing, weak drinks that barely seemed to have alcohol, the delayed start, boring dance lessons, embarrassing food, poor seating control, and lack of management, the whole experience was extremely disappointing. I definitely do not recommend reserving seats, drinking at this event, or buying their food. Eat dinner beforehand and do not worry about arriving on time, because the show does not really start until around 10:30 anyway. We left feeling scammed.

They've multiplied by 1.5x at least (!) and now they seemingly do not limit capacity at the club because we felt like we were in a can of sardines in there. The bartenders are still nice and polite at least. The music is also not at all any good anymore. We came on Halloween night because (1) we are familiar w/ Kiss Kiss and (2) we figured K-town was less chaotic than WeHo. This is where we learned they had tickets for sale at the door to get in (please brace yourselves,,,, it was an astounding $45......). We sucked it up and paid (our mistake we would soon learn). The night itself was advertised as a 70's disco Halloween event. At NO POINT in the entire night was 70s music played as every. single. song. was synth/house music. At the most maybe 4 songs were synth/house/EDM remixes of 70s music. Not to mention!!! They only played 1 Halloween song all night! The only positive from the night was the decor was nice. Security guards at the bathroom side make you leave your drink "under their watch" while you use the restroom. I stayed behind and switched with my friend to keep a constant eye on our drinks because the man on duty was doing everything BUT watching people's drinks!!
