This location has to be one of the best complements I can imagine, right next to the Thinkery across the walking path! Kiddos playing around Mueller must love this place as much as ours did. Plenty of great flavors and toppings to choose from, and highly recommend snapping some photos near the big cow mural or other funny pictures/artwork in the shop. When we take guests, definitely appreciate the staff offering samples for some of those less common flavors you can't find at HEB (goat cheese and thyme, etc.) Typical street parking options + the paid garage option. We came here on a weeknight and there weren't that many people here. We ordered small scoops one with the grapefruit Paloma grapefruit and blueberry crumble and the other with blackberry lime basil and goat cheese ice cream. Certain ice creams tasted like the flavor, but others did not really taste as good, like there was too much going on. But at least for the grapefruit ice creams and the blueberry crumble ice cream, the ice cream was pretty good. However, other flavors had too many herbs and spices in it (when I sampled them). The waffle cone was also smaller as well. Overall, this place is pretty good, but I wouldn't say that everything I had was great. The location was a little small and cramped with tables spread along the walls and some tables in the back. I love love love this place! Even though they only had one person working for a long time on a busy Friday night, they still get all 5 stars. I'm not willing to wait in line for many things in life, but a treat like Lick's ice cream is one of them! The food: lots of crowd-pleasing flavors and fun seasonal things to try. Our family shared a bunch of flavors but my favorite was the goat cheese and the salted caramel. The kiddos were stoked about their flavors too. The vibe: it's a small place but they use the space well, the four of us were able to sit and enjoy our ice cream while a couple enjoyed their ice cream too and it didn't feel cramped. Stopped by Lick to try some of their seasonal fall flavors. I sampled all the fall flavors and ended up getting the Bourbon Pecan Blondie, Rumchata, Caramel Apple Pie, and Spiced Sweet Potato Pie. Every flavor was delicious and very on theme for fall with tons of spices. My personal favorites were the Bourbon Pecan Blondie and the Rumchata. For a vegan flavor, the Rumchata still managed to be very creamy. I think is the perfect place to stop by if you're craving a sweet treat. The workers were super nice, and allowed me to try as many samples as I wanted. The inside has a few tables and is decorated nicely, but I would recommend taking your ice cream outside to sit at Mueller Lake Park. The coffee ice cream is delicious!! I was pleasantly surprised when we stopped by this spot after dinner. The employees were very helpful, friendly and patient when it came to sampling. I really enjoyed Lady bird lavender crisp, Texas sheer cake, roasted beets and fresh mint, goat cheese/honey/thyme, tres leches, sweet cream and strawberry, just to name a few. There were also quite a few vegan options as well! 2. For those who are local, there is a very cool promotion of being a Scoop Society member which gets you 1 free topping for the entire month, bogo free small ice creams, Friday waffle cone/bowls. How fun is that? If I lived in Austin, I would gladly be a member and I truly wish that San Diego would have something like this! 3. Me and the kids stopped by Lick on 12/16/2023 after attending the Minor Mishap marching band's winter solace parade. This isn't our first time here but it's been 2 years since we last visited. We used to stop by Lick right after me and my oldest's Thinkery date. When we walked in there was a short line and people were given the chance to try different flavors before commiting to a few. My mom brain cannot remember the staff's name but she was so lovely, passing out those tiny wooden spoons and giving out recommendations. The ice cream flavors are fun as usual and I almost couldn't find the vanilla because of the long names. I had the bourbon pecan and it was delicious, slightly sweeter than my preference but so good. My kids shared a small vanilla and both were satisfied. We finished around 8pm and they went to bed fine, no crazy sugar-hyped kids throwing tantrums that night...which made me feel less guilty for giving out treats this late. Thank you Lick for using locally sourced wholesome ingredients to take care of your customers! I also just went on their website and found out they are crowd funding and using MicroVenture's to buy and pay the convertible note was a breeze. Investing in $100 and getting a $50 gift card seems like a great return already. Hope Lick can continue to grow and thrive. read more

Second time tried the beet and mint flavor, which was surprisingly good! Very slightly odd but unique flavor, but not off-putting at all. My brother liked the vanilla one a lot, but we both weren't huge fans of the mint chocolate one because the chocolate bit was this very chunky soft rather than crunchy, crisp texture. I'd love to come back and try their chocolate olive oil one next time. Also, ambiance at this location is lovely! A cute ice cream shop! Its unique in the sense that they use pure ingredients and not much artificial stuff which is good. I tried their mint and chip and wow it actually tasted like real mint instead of the artificial green ice cream flavors we are used to.
