They need more English speakers here! Ordered a "bring your own pot" bun bo rue. I live about 1-1.5 hour away from this restaurant. I brought my pot which it's an thermal pot, a pot within a pot. I got my food. They wrapped my pot with a plastic bag and all. When I got home, they forgot my lid. Basically all the soup spilled inside of my pot. I called them and told them to put my lid on the side and i will go pick it up within 2 weeks. Like I said, I live far and I can't just drive down whenever. Anyways, one of my friend was able to pick up my lid for me and she went over there the next day. The employees didn't know where my lid went and said the guy that picked up my call is already off work and they dont have his phone number. They basically just told my friend to get outta here. So I asked my Vietnamese friend to call them the next day. They told her to call back another time. After MANY attempt of calling them, the guy that speaks English finally picks up. This place is freaking bomb!! I ordered some food here for a work potluck. Everything was good!!! I came back again the following week to try more items and it was delicious as well!! Prices here are very affordable and the food is definitely worth it!! Some of the items I ordered here: my favorites are bo la lot: Amzing flavor and super juicy!! Beef seasoned, cooked, and wrapped with betel leaf. $8 a piece rocket shrimp: egg rolls on steriods!! Crispy, chewy, tasty!! A giant flavorful eggroll with a whole shrimp in the middle. $1 each banh cuon nhan thit: rolled rice rolls with filling made of ground pork and mushrooms. Super tasty. $7 small tray, $20 party tray The shrimp sugar cane and meat balls are also very good! Those were $2 each I believe. I had also order fried rice ($30 tray) and nem spring rolls (3 for $5) which were also affordable and great tasting. The only item I was not a huge fan of was banh uot thit nuong (like springs rolls but rice rolls with pork -3 rolls $5), however many people seem to enjoy it. When I visited Lien Hue 3 (thank you Yelp) I found the restaurant itself aesthetically pleasing with clean wooden floors, matching modern wooden chairs (neatly tucked away due to Covid) and great safety measures for Covid-19 (6 foot distance floor stickers/sign + masks for customers, while the staff in addition wore gloves). I ordered 2 house appetizers (#1 & #5), dumplings (#22), and one rice plate (#31) because I needed my fix of authentic Vietnamese food! I was blown away by my experience and high quality of my order. 1. Tom hoa tien: rocket shrimp - shrimp & pork egg roll w/ a whole shrimp. The outer crunch was so crispy with a soft middle filled with the delectable sweetness of a whole shrimp placed in the middle of the roll. Yes, a whole shrimp! It's like an eggroll 2.0 with double the shrimp in each bite! I ate them so fast and was able to take photos of how beautiful the inside was before they were almost gone. This was 5 pieces for $5 or 10 pieces for $10. Great price for the amount of shrimp that was consumed! 3. Banh uot thit nuong: spring rolls with shrimp and pork with peanut sauce and peppers. When I picked up the spring roll I was happily surprised with how heavy the roll was! The outside was so soft, smooth and plump. A combination of this with the inner crunch of fresh veggies, hint of mint, savory shrimp and pork slices + thick peanut sauce it became borderline addicting to eat. Hearing the audible crunch alongside all of these flavors harmonizing one another in my mouth made this food experience so satisfying and refreshing. 22. Bánh bèo: rice flour cakes with toasted shrimp. This was my favorite dish by far. The rice flour cakes were delectable and filling. The sides included the fish sauce, peppers, toasted shrimp and caramelized onions and green onions. I personally like putting these ingredients in a flower formation in my bowl because they're rice flour "flower" cakes and doing so brings me joy - Marie Kondo kind of joy. This dish allowed me to be punny with my food! The rice flour cakes were so organized in the container, and after a long drive nothing that I ordered spilled. No one wants fish sauce spilled in the car! This meal was my favorite because these ingredients together were amazing. The rice cakes perfectly held the toasted shrimp and caramelized veggies while the fish sauce enhanced the sweet, salty and veggie flavors. 31. Com thit nuong: grilled pork with steamed rice, pickled + fresh veggies and spicy fish sauce. The grilled pork was soft and tender to bite into, with a delicious seasoning. The meat tasted a little sweet, had a hint of pepper and a faint roasted finish. The white rice was cooked perfectly - not too dry or moist. The taste of the rice reminded me of how I had my rice cooked at home - soft and airy. I honestly used this spicy fish sauce on my bánh bèo. The heat from the fish sauce made me inhale after each bite - but to all the spice lovers, it had the heat kick that makes you want to take another bite! Would I come back? Absolutely. Do they accept debit and practice Covid precautions? 100% yes. Did the food spill on my drive home during rush hour? Nope; all meals got home safely and were wrapped well for to go. Were the ingredients fresh? Yes. How was the customer service? Impeccable. This restaurant is a well kept hidden gem in the heart of Westminster. Came here two mornings in a row to get lunch for my coworkers and I. I love how they're open early in the morning so people can get food before work. First time I went I got banh cuon thit nuong and their goi with lotus. Their banh cuon thir nuong was good and cheap they give you a good amount of fish sauce too along with the fried shallots. All i had to go pick up at the market was bean sprouts and herbs and cucumbers I wanted to eat with my banh cuon. Their goi with lotus was a hit especially the nuoc Cham it was a little bit on the thicker side and it has jellyfish in it too. I just wished there was more lotus and jellyfish. Lien Hue is my go-to place for Viet food party trays. I usually don't dine in at their other locations because they're more take-out focused, but this new location is a lot bigger and nicer to eat at! It's located in the ABC supermarket plaza. I highly recommend taking friends and family here for Hue food. I love their bun bo Hue (spicy beef/pork noodle soup) and banh canh cua (crab/shrimp udon soup). Their homemade ot sa te (hot lemongrass sauce) is bomb too! The employees have a really strong Hue accent, so you know the food is truly authentic. If you're having a party, you can even bring your own giant pot and they'll fill it up with soups like bun bo Hue, bun rieu, banh canh, etc. That way you don't waste too much styrofoam/plastic. Their classic Hue banana-wrapped items are sooooo good. My favorite ones are the banh nam (flat shrimp/pork dumplings) and banh loc la (clear pork/shrimp dumplings). I live in SF so I buy them frozen and steam them at home. I highly recommend buying their frozen foods to take back home if you're visiting from out of town. PROS// My grandma asked me to get some Tet goodies and she directed me here. They sell them in front of the store during Tet season. I bought banh tet, banh chung, dua mon, tom chua, and cha bong. The banh tet and banh chung are huge! I eat the banh tet fried with dua mon. If you have access to a deep dryer, fry these babies up! SO BOMB!! The banh chung comes in 2 so they're easier to cut. The tom chua is really good with sliced pork. They also have all different types of cha like cha hue and cha bo. The cha hue is my favorite! CONS// The parking lot is nuts especially during the holidays. Buy your Tet goodies a week or 2 before Tet. They'll still be good by Tet because they're heavily wrapped in banana leaves. We ordered: -Bun Bo hue -Mi quang -Pho -Banh bot loc - #21 combo which comes with Banh beo, Banh bot loc, and another roll (I don't know the name) -Rocket shrimp -Nem noung spring rolls BBH had such great reviews so that's why I chose to try this place over Huong Hue. The BBH was good but not the best I've ever had. The best I ever had is from Stockton, CA lol. Mi quang smelled so good and had a lot of tasty meats but overall was okay as well. Nem noung was not fresh ): The Nem noung wasn't as sweet as I'm use to like from Brodard or Qem Nem. The crunchy eggroll has no more crunch probably because it's made in advance, not made to order. The same can be said for the rocket shrimp. It had really good flavor but was not hot or even warm. I enjoyed the Banh bot loc but also not the best. Oooooh! We were scavenging for quarantine food and the local Viet supermarkets were wiped out. My parents suggested us to stop by Lien Hue for frozen dumplings and meatloaf. Make sure you buy a lot because they're so good, you'll eat a lot in one sitting. I purchased 100 banh loc la ($55), 100 banh nam ($70), and 100 banh loc tran ($30) and we're almost running out after 1 week. The meatloaf comes in a variety of meats (cha hue/ cha lua/ cha bo/ cha bi). My favorite ones are cha lua (pork with no pepper) and cha bo (beef). My husband and I got a whole pot of fresh bun bo hue too. We brought in our own pot from home and purchased $40 of bun bo which gave us 5-6 hefty bowls. Their homemade chili sauce is bomb af. Add it to your bun bo and it makes it 10x better. If you're watching your calories, you could ask for the bun bo with less fat (beo). The soup will look less red, but the flavor is still potent. read more

3.5 Stars Food-wise this place is a solid 4 stars, however, I could not get over how poor the services here were to get myself to rate any higher. We came here yesterday at 5:47 PM. It is understood that they close at 7 PM. We ordered quickly to insured we would be out before 7 PM. The girl who took our order kept repeating that they will close at 7 PM as we were seated, as we ordered, as when we were eating our food. Listen, I get that they are firmed on their closing time but there was no need to constantly bombard us with this reminder. She made the mishap of dropping one of our rocket shrimp and mind you it was 10 for $10 and she could have said something and I would have disregarded it but she still charged us $10 for 9 shrimps on top of the poor services. The way I see it is if you are that fixated on closing at 7 they could have just turned us away from in-dining, I would rather have that than be harassed while I eat and get poor services. This food to go place has horrible customer service. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Yesterday, Sunday, in the afternoon, I bought 2 bun bo Hue, 1 banh canh, and 5 banh nam. When I got home, I open the food and ate them. However, when I ate a little bit of bun bo hue, the broth is sour and later I got diarrhea for the night. My husband ate banh canh and banh nam. He is fine and banh canh and banh nam are OK. When the bun bo hue broth is sour, I believe it's old, not fresh (if not rotten). I called them up today, Monday, in the morning and they said that they work in the morning shift, they don't know anything about it. I called them again in the afternoon, they said that they can't do anything about it because they just worked there. I asked for their manager, they don't have a manager. I asked for the owner name, they don't tell me. I lost $28.00 for these 2 bun bo Hue and the time that I have gone there to buy the food. I would think at least, they should take their bad food back and give me another 2 good bun bo Hue, or give my money back (I still have my 2 bad bun bo hue in my fridge to return). This is the best place in Little Saigon to buy Vietnamese food party trays. They have 3 different types of spring rolls: Banh uot thit nuong (grilled pork in thick rice paper), nem nuong cuon (grilled pork sausage in rice paper), and goi cuon (shrimp and pork in rice paper). I think the most popular ones are the banh uot thit nuong. They all come with delicious peanut sauce. They also have awesome Vietnamese salads (goi). They have a variety of goi like goi thap cam (with everything), goi ngo sen (lotus root), goi sua tom thit (jellyfish, shrimp, and pork), goi mit tom thit (young jackfruit, shrimp, and pork). I usually eat just "meal prep" food such as plain chicken, potatoes, and broccoli, but last weekend I decided to venture out to Orange County to try some new Vietnamese dishes I had never tried before. I arrived around noon on a Sunday and it was pretty packed. If you want to dine in, you seat yourself and there are menus on the table. Once you're ready to order, you just wave one of the employees down to take your order. I got the mi quang, nem nuong cuon, and rocket shrimp. Everything was amazing and I can't believe I've been missing out on all this delicious Vietnamese food despite having done my undergraduate studies near the Little Saigon area. My Mom always taught us to try a restaurant twice. On late Fri afternoon, I ordered the Bunh Bo hue (again) and Bunh rieu. Cash only and easy to order. Here's why I can't change my 2 star rating. There's a sign on the fridge with two Santa Claus that asks patrons to be patient as they are short staffed. I get that and am patient. There were two women, wrapping something in foil. Another woman comes and joins in on the wrapping. I wait over 20 minutes for my order and finally ask one of the three women to check on my order. She slowly walks back and voo lah, comes back with my order. It was probably just sitting there! No one from the kitchen brought it up. Another issue I have with this restaurant is that the lady who took the orders. She took 4 total orders with the same gloves and accepted cash from all of us. She then went to prep the raw, fresh food with THE SAME GLOVES! I watched her do this. Absolutely disgusting - I can't patron a place that doesn't take food handling seriously.
