First time is here in Connecticut, and this was the first place that we decided to try out. This is a very cozy and cute bakery, located to the rear of the property. There is some seating outside as well as inside. Upon walking in, we were not greeted by any of the employees, but that did not bother us because we were just very hungry. We stood at the front of the counter with approximately 4 to 5 employees behind the counter. All employees noticed us, and none of them said a single word. It wasn't until my boyfriend caught the attention of somebody to take our order. Female employee came to the cash register, was very nice and took our order promptly. As soon as the food was delivered to our table, everything was forgiven. The food was absolutely delicious. My boyfriend and I have both ordered breakfast sandwiches and a raspberry shortcake for dessert. And it did not disappoint. If we're ever back in Connecticut, we might not be returning here, but it was a good experience. If we return back, we'd probably like to see what else Connecticut has to offer.

We loved this spot in the heart of downtown Mystic! This location was within walking distance of Mystic downtown shopping and vendors. We easily found parking in the morning. Lighthouse bakes all of their items fresh in house and offers quite a variety of food and drink options. The environment is homey, warm and welcoming. Their top sellers of breakfast include the Classic OG & the Big 55. They offer a current winter coffee menu as well as your classic go-tos. Their nitro cold brew is also a great pick! If you're a runner, be sure to also check out their Saturday AM run club with free coffee and some post-run event offerings. They have outdoor seating that is enclosed and heated as well as a few tables inside to get cozy. They offer milk alternatives and merch to purchase too!

Raspberry Bar The shortbread cookie base was nice and thick. The shortbread was soft and not overly sweet. The raspberry jam layer was too thin for the ratio of jam to shortbread. The bar overall was very dry. It was a pretty good bar, nothing to write home about though. It needs a much better topping with a thicker layer too.

Love the new outside seating away from hustle bustle of main st traffic! And the ciabatta bread is D-lish and quite large for a breakfast sandwich

Overall 5/5! I am an absolute lover over family-owned businesses, and it definitely makes it 1000% better when I get a nice BRUNCH too!! Lighthouse Bakery has been said to be a hidden gem, and I ABSOLUTELY CANNOT DISAGREE! it might be a little hard to find because it is tucked away behind a carpet cleaning company & to the right of Bravo Bravo, but do not miss an opportunity to come and grab a bite here! The owner was so kind and wonderful, the food was great, and it was honestly the perfect spot for Brunch for me, my mom, and my sister. I had the Breakfast Burrito, which had ground beef, cheese, beans, and egg, and IT WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS and definitely filled me up! It was quite savory, and I'm not one with a huge appetite, but I definitely would've eaten two! I also had their cappuccino, which was very nicely made (comes without sugar, so you do it to your taste!) & the Tiramisu, which was AMAZING--Lighthouse Bakery's Tiramisu was so yummy, and had the perfect balance between sweet and bitter (like the coffee type of bitter). Honestly, it was probably the best Tiramisu I think I've tasted! The only thing I'll warn about is that there isn't much seating inside, but there is enough outside! Don't let the seating turn you away though; you definitely want to try Lighthouse Bakery before you leave Mystic!

A hidden bakery in the back part of the lot. Small selections of baked goods and drinks available, but it seems like they definitely make what they are good at. Less food waste and fresher food, so I am all in for that! This place has probably one of the BEST tiramisu desserts I've had!!! We saw two fresh batches being made in front of us in the open kitchen concept, on a Saturday morning. It could probably use a little more coffee flavor. Otherwise it'd be PERFECT! Their raspberry bars were very light and airy, with a shortbread cookie texture. Not over the top in sweetness and without the artificial flavoring. We brought a fresh baguette too and it was made to perfection. My husband says it was like some of the fresh breads he's had from Europe. Unfortunately, the homemade cinnamon bun was very dry, and wasn't rolled with enough cinnamon/sugar for flavor. As you can see in my photo, it almost looked like a sugar brioche. However, we did buy the last one so it was probably a fluke in the batch . Otherwise, definitely give this place a visit it you are in town. They also serve a humble breakfast menu with coffee opts too. Available parking at the back. Great customer service!

A welcome treat for brunch! Food was yummy, Americano (Ille) delicious and perfectly brewed fresh. Food was made to order and came quickly to the outdoor table we selected. Their pastries, cakes and tiramisu looked amazing and there appeared to be fresh cannolis awaiting their filling upon order. Didn't break the bank and definitely worth the stop.

We were seated at a lovely table for two overlooking Main Street - watching people stroll by from that elevated perch behind glass felt almost cinematic. The real star of the show was the food, which is ultimately what you're there for, and it delivered. The menu offers plenty of options without being overwhelming. I started with the Crispy Pig's Head as an appetizer - a bold choice that turned out to be outstanding. For my entrée, the bucatini with seacoast mushrooms, sherry, parmesan, mushroom cream, and fine herbs was perfectly cooked, and carried a subtle but deeply flavorful sauce. And the housemade sourdough with poblano honey butter? Absolutely outstanding. To be fair, our server took a little time to warm up but found their footing and gave us everything we needed. Parking in Mystic on a busy weekend night can also be a challenge and expensive. Neither is reason enough to skip this one. Ship Wright's Daughter is exactly the kind of restaurant Mystic deserves. Don't wait for a special occasion -- just go.

They do not take reservations, so it's possible you'll be waiting for a while. You may also wait for a while when you're sitting because I felt ignored most of my visit. I had a crab and asparagus Benedict and pierogies. I will grant that the Benedict was well done. Poached egg was perfectly runny and the hollandaise had a wonderful light flavor. The pierogies and the potato hash, however, were pedestrian at best and I didn't eat most of the potatoes as a result. The menu has impressive range you wouldn't find at most places, but I wasn't excited by most of my meal so I'm left with thinking I might come back here but I'd never say this is a place you have to go to.

They might be a tad bit under staffed cause we did wait a bit before someone got us a table and even to pay and get some of the bakery items was a bit of a wait, but it wouldn't stop me from going again. The food actually came out fairly quickly. The wife and I both got the grilled chicken sandwich with fries and my son got the French toast. I will admit, when my wife wanted to come here I really wasn't in the mood for anything I saw on the menu. We were on vacation and we weren't having much luck with food options the whole time so I was just being picky. That all changed tho when food arrived because that sandwich was excellent and really hit the spot. And the fries.....if you like McDonald's fries, you will like these even more because to me that's what they reminded of when their fries used to be good. My son enjoy his French toast. Will definitely go back. Price was reasonable as well. Oh!! Almost forgot about the bakery items. We got a chocolate chip cookie, a macadamia nut cookie and my son wanted macaroons. Plus the puppy picture name wall was adorable and they name meals after them! Our server was nice and the menu had interesting choices, but sadly they sounded better than what they were. - the scramble was not that great...overdone eggs and I'm not a fan of slapping a square piece of cheese on eggs. I think shredded cheddar would have been a better choice and the crumbly-sausage was an odd choice for breakfast sausage - I was excited they had hash browns but they were premade with garlic powder and came out mushy. They left a lingering weird garlic flavor - turkey sandwich had real turkey breast which was great but it was too hot and made the sandwich soggy - burrito was good but the homefries were burnt beyond repair Lots of parking on the side and front area

It certainly does not evoke a diner in the least, not sure why the summary would say that. The space is crowded, with flimsy tables and uncomfortable chairs. The service is fine, friendly but distracted. The food was also middling, especially on temperature. I got the house special, some pierogies topped with onions and peppers, toast, 2 over easy eggs, and potato hash. The over easy eggs were on the verge of medium, the potato hash could have used some of the onions and peppers, the pierogies had a cool interior, and the toast was fine. I heard the waitress tell a patron with burnt toast, however, that all the toast was fine except white toast frequently burned. This baffled me as an opportunity you'd think to address, not accept via lame excuses. Needless to say, I was unimpressed and don't see a need to return.

The chips appeared to be homemade, and they were tremendous along with the salsa Verde and Macha. There was a nice kick to the salsas and a perfect crunch from the chips. However, it just felt like the dish was mostly chips. I felt like more toppings could be added or an additional egg. The fried egg was also a little overcooked, guess when ordering, we could have specified how we wanted it to be cooked. The doughnut was okay. The sourdough base was very solid, but essentially just a lot of cheese on top. I was not sure what to expect regarding this type of doughnut, but this was the least optimal choice. Will I go back? I would.

The regular menu looked creative and appetizing as well. I had their daily oyster ($1.50 each), mussels ($10), and their cutie smash burger ($9). The oysters were from sixpenny on the day I attended. They were fresh and went down smoothly. The mignonette that was served with it was interesting. It seemed to have some sort of orange juice incorporated, but who knows. It was not bad. I preferred the cocktail sauce and horseradish provided. The mussels came in a coconut lemongrass broth with chili, cilantro, and lime. These were some of the freshest mussels I had in a while. It was noticeable to me from the feel and taste. The coconut lemongrass broth was a nice compliment and very flavorful. The burger was a quarter pound smash patty with cheddar cheese, umami mayo, lettuce, pickles, and white onion. This was cooked ideally to a medium-medium rare temperature. The bread was the key as it held the toppings and was of good ratio. The pickle was nicely folded and placed where it was not hanging off the burger. It was a little sweet, but not a big deal. Will I go back? Definitely.
