Beautiful setting for the restaurant at New Port Bay area. Lots of boats, lots of tourists playing on the Sandy Beach. The food was magnificent. The waiter Carlos was excellent. We enjoyed everything about our adventure here.

First visit. Picked something close to the beach and hotel since we were driving in from Vegas. Menu looked good when I looked at it prior and it was on the water. We checked in at the front desk and asked about the parking. She said we would have to pay to park. I'm like ok? Shouldn't it be waved if we are eating here. No. I had to walk back out and pay for the parking. We were starving so just did it. Service was slow! Took a while to get our food and drinks. View was nice on the water but we will not return due to the flies. Disgusting! They were everywhere! Kept landing in the food and buzzing around everywhere. I made a comment to a person on the staff and they laughed like oh I know they are bad. Food was ok. Artichokes were my fav. The steak was very small that comes with the steak and eggs.

The restaurant is located by the water and actually looks like a lighthouse. It's cute. The interior is smaller than I thought but since it's a lighthouse it's shaped round. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I think it may be popular as a brunch spot. We had reservations for 11:30am and it was bustling. By noon the crowd seemed to have dispersed. Everything on the menu looked good so we ended up ordering literally a table full of food - 2 types of mimosas (tropical paradise and elderflower guava), calamari, clam chowder, beignets, steak (holy cow), lobster roll and mahi mahi tacos. Of the mimosas we liked the guava best. Holy cow was one of our favorites but really everything was delicious. Staff was pleasant, just in the beginning we had to wait quite some time for someone to take our order. We had made reservations with a note that we were celebrating our anniversary but they don't acknowledge celebrations I guess so if you are wanting something special at the restaurant perhaps not this place.

Made reservations through Yelp for 7 people, indoor seating. We arrived and checked in at the front--the host sat us down immediately. It was a weekday brunch/lunch hours, so the restaurant wasn't too packed. Food came out relatively fast! Only complaint-- Everyone got their food at the same time except one person. Their Lobster roll took a long time. By the time we had server check, the rest of party was finishing up their food. I gave one of my mahi tacos, so my friend didn't have to sit awkwardly while we all ate. Guests ordered: Calamari appetizer- crispy, but soft to chew. Flavorful and not heavy batter. Wasn't overcooked and everyone enjoyed it with the sauce it came with. Elderflower Guava mimosa-- refreshing and tastes tropical and light. Guava taste is apparent if you like guava. Something diff if you want to change it up in flavor! Sorry didn't take pic of that. Lobster roll-- Actually really fresh and decent amount of lobster meat given. The bun was a brioche type bun, slightly toasted. Overall, good, but not sure it was worth that long of a wait for it. It came out late, so I wasn't about to take pic of it knowing my friend is starving. Haha Ahi Sandwich--- came with some fries and side salad. Tuna was seared perfectly and not overcooked. Well seasoned too. Bun was slightly toasted. Dressing on salad was a light vinaigrette. Salad looked clean and bright in color. Mahi Mahi--- the corn tortillas must be fresh, because it's soft and thick and elevates the whole dish. If you like spicy, this definitely has a nice kick to it with the seasoning and sauce. Loved it! Fish and Chips-- was good. Crispy and fish not overcooked. Fries are fries anywhere. lol Clam Chowder-- not too salty in comparison to other places. Decent amount of clams. Has a creamy texture, not too thick and not too watery. Nothing irks me more when it's full of potatoes. This had the right amount of potatoes and clams. Lemon Blueberry Pancakes-- Nailed it! Felt like eating dessert! If you love blueberries, this one is for you. Didn't taste a lot of lemon flavors, but it's probably mixed in there somewhere with the syrup and probably lemon zest. Chicken and Waffles--- Chicken was seasoned well and has a nice crunch to it. Not enough chicken in my opinion. Chicken piece looked small in comparison to two thick slabs of waffles. It was good, but wouldn't get it again. If you've had chicken and waffles in Long Beach, IYKYK. Wonderful view of Marina as usual. Our server was super nice and efficient. She had a calm and friendly demeanor about her. She saw we were trying to take pics and offered to take a a few of our table. How thoughtful. It's the small things that matter the most. Details, details! Overall, we had a pleasant time. Thank you!

This is my second time eating here and unfortunately this time was more of a let down. We had a reservation got sat waited a bit longer then normal for someone to come over a take our order they were pretty busy so that's understandable. Our server was very kind a up beat so no dings on her the part. that let us down was how slow the bar and kitchen times were. We got the beignets as an appetizer which surprisingly came out quickly, but then we waited another 15 minutes after we had gotten the beignets for our drinks..... not ideal. Then we ordered our food and that took painfully long as well. We sat with empty water and empty drinks was very hard to flag someone down to get a second round of bar drinks. After the long waited food to come three of the dishes were cold and not just like maybe had been sitting out for five like minutes like they clearly had been sitting out for awhile. The dishes that was cold were clam chowder, french toast and fish and chips. I wish my party could have good feed back for at least the flavor of their food but they were very off put by their dishes being cold. Good points would be the presentation of the food is very well put together. And when our server was around, she always had a smile on her face and good attitude. Food that we could rate was My dish: steak chilaquiles (gluten free) 8/10 very flavorful eggs cooked perfectly The seared Aji sandwich: - 8/10 bun was toasted flavor was good and fresh cooked beautifully Fried chicken and waffles: - 5/10 nothing to write home about seemed very classic waffles were a bit underdone Beignets: 10/10 very light and airy not too sweet and the sauce was super good. Topped with cinnamon sugar Cocktails Wiser and elder - gin, vodka, st. Germain, lemon and basil / 9/10 soooo good very well balanced Strawberry mojito - very refreshing 8/10 Some notes, service was good the servers can only do so much when they aren't properly staffed or ticket times are running behind. Only point I would make is it better to be present during those times and checking in on your tables rather then trying to avoid the tables that are waiting on somthing you (the sever ) cant provide your self. The restaurant is a gorgeous setting very yacht club vibes. Not as many gluten free options which I knew going in which is okay for me and the menu is well labeled. Overall a bit disappointing having had a good prior experience hopefully they can work on trying to time their seating with kitchen and bar ticket times. I do think the reason people keep coming back here is the ambiance and setting of the restaurant you really can't beat it it very cute and have a great view of the water

Make reservations for outdoor seating! You'll have a beautiful view of the water. I got the lobster roll and it was delicious and buttery. The lemon blueberry pancakes were shared amongst my table and we devoured them. If I come back, I'd definitely order the lobster roll again!!

Came here for a friend's birthday and had such a great experience! All of the staff were so nice and friendly, and they answered any questions we had about the menu. I tried the chicken and waffles and it was delicious. I wasn't sure if it came with a side or if I had to ask for one, but either way, the meal was really good. The only small thing was that the syrup was a little too sweet for me, but honestly that might just be a me thing. The scenery was beautiful and the ocean view made the experience even better. The staff also brought out small beignets for the birthday girl, which was such a sweet gesture. I would 100% come back!

45 minute-wait on a Saturday which wasn't bad. We requested to sit outside but unfortunately the table had one seat right in the sun. We asked if we could move to a shaded table and were told no, even though there were open tables. I felt ill from the sun so I was waiting outside of patio in the shade until the server came. I guess my boyfriend asked again and they kept sending employees to the table and after about three people moved us. After that the server was nice. Food and drink were mediocre (lobster roll and lava flow). Nice view of the ocean and sailboats. Additional notes: no room for stroller on patio so you have to leave it outside of restaurant. Public restroom not attached to restaurant. Paid parking lot out front. Park for kids very close by.

    Beautiful spread!

This restaurant was really pretty, and I'm glad I had the opportunity to sit outside and enjoy both the view and my meal. I made a reservation on a weekday evening, however, it would have been fine to just walk in since it wasn't that busy. Parking was a bit difficult to find and you have to pay to park in the lot. Service was good, and my server was able to squeeze in an order from the happy hour menu before it ended. I started with the lobster sliders, a cup of clam chowder, and a blood orange cosmo. All three items hit the spot. The lobster sliders, although small, had a good amount of lobster piled on and were good just dipped in butter. The fries were also nicely crispy and paired well with dipping in the clam chowder, which I really liked. The blood orange cosmo was on the sweeter side but was good. This "linner" was my first meal of the day so I also got the pan-seared salmon off the dinner menu. I thought it was fine. Next time, I'd probably stick to trying more items off of the happy hour menu.

Our family went to the lighthouse with the whole family, in-laws, aunts, and cousins Had an absolutely wonderful brunch here, everything was perfect from start to finish. We ordered a little bit of everything, from waffles and pancakes to eggs, and every dish was fantastic. What really made the experience special was our server, Mary. She is one of the nicest, sweetest people I've ever met. We ended up talking about our shared love of bourbon and whiskey, and she recommended her bourbon margarita... and wow, it was incredible. If you go, make sure to say hi to Mary and ask about her bourbon margarita. She truly made our brunch unforgettable and deserves a big raise!

Great location and great service. Our party of 9 dined in for brunch to end a bachelorette trip, and I'm glad we did! I made reservations a few weeks in advance, and they were able to seat us right in the middle of the lighthouse. Beautiful! The food was so good! We would definitely recommend the dishes pictured in this review. Also, if your party will be drinking, the mimosa pitchers were very worth it.

Came here with a goal to have a light lunch after a hike at Crystal Cove. We ordered a cup of tomato bisque bowl of clam chowder calamari mahi mahi fish tacos The mahi mahi in the tacos was good but the tortilla was chewy and hard and just not enjoyable, the salad that came with it was very good and fresh. The calamari was good and came with a pesto ranch that was surprisingly delish. My husband was not a big fan of the clam chowder, it didn't really taste like clam chowder and I agree with him. However the real star was the tomato bisque. Flavor point was perfection, presentation was 5/5 and they added grilled cheese sandwich bites it was memorable and a pleasant surprise. Service was friendly, fast and courteous. The restaurant itself is not easy to spot at first but in a great location with a serene and beautiful view. It does get a little cold because the breeze just seems to get trapped right outside but it wasn't too bad. Overall we left feeling stuffed and I would say the food is good but not sure if this would be one of my first picks with all of the competition in the area. I would highly recommend the tomato bisque to anyone coming here though!

We kicked off dinner with a round of drinks: an espresso martini with a nice touch of cinnamon, a refreshing margarita, a tall draft beer, and a tequila margarita. Everything from the bar was top-notch. The seafood was definitely the highlight. We ordered a massive spread of oysters on the half shell, both classic and dressed with ponzu, scallions, and tobiko. We also shared a fantastic salmon and avocado specialty roll, along with sashimi and crudo plates that tasted super fresh. Overall, the coastal vibe is fantastic and the food and drinks are great, but hopefully service is a bit sharper next time!

Brought a friend and her family here to celebrate a milestone birthday on a Saturday afternoon…read more We were really hoping to sit in the patio, or at least near it but, unfortunately we were sat at a booth alongside the interior wall. Totally understandable as it's peak summer, and a weekend, they get busy. The restaurant was hot and humid. Now I'm sure they have AC, and even with all the windows and patio doors being open, they really should have opted to use the AC. The entire dining experience was uncomfortable. We ate our meal literally sweating. Even our server was sweating lol All our drinks went room temp in a matter of 10 minutes, we had to repeatedly ask for glasses of ice from the bar just to try and mitigate our body temperatures somehow. Also, the booth itself was incredibly tacky. And I don't mean visually tacky, I mean the texture. The feeling of plastic when it gets really old and it feels sticky to the touch, that tacky. You couldn't slide in or out of that booth if your life depended on it. And again, considering how humid and hot the interior was, it only made it worse. The lighting was also so dim that it gave the vibes of being sat in the corner of a musky Denny's diner lol. Halfway through our meal they turned the lights off for dinner service (I get it, to set the mood) but it made the table so dark we had to ask them to turn them back on so we could see the food on our plates. It wasn't that the entire restaurant was dim, it's certain tables (and sadly ours was definitely one of them) We had a party of 6, and one person got their meal well before the rest of the table. We of course insisted she begin eating, which she did, and our remaining meals came out as soon as she was done with hers. The waiter removed her plate as he set down everyone else's lol. The food was good, but, again with how uncomfortable the environment was, it was hard to enjoy. The restaurant was also fairly empty throughout our meal. We got there before 5 so that awkward "linner" time frame. Even so, we had to flag down our waiter for another round of drinks, water, etc. The Shorebird absolutely has stunning views, and that's what they're known for. Their food is solid, mist dishes fairly justifies the high price point. This visit was just not their best. Overall service and ambiance, fell extremely flat. I set the bar high for my guests, as they traveled in from out of town and I raved about my experience from a few months back. Granted, I was sat at the patio, overlooking the beautiful view, and the service was impeccable. With all the stellar dining options in Newport, unless you find yourself at a table on the balcony, I don't think Shorebird is the obvious choice. You'll end up spending the money regardless so you may as well look for a spot that is guaranteed to meet the expectations of the price point without having to be dependent on a view.

I've been coming here for decades. It's a bit old school in terms of decor and presentation, but I…read morecan always get solid food at a reasonable price while enjoying a view of the harbor. On my most recent visit, my wife and I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon at about 1:30 p.m. (as the lunch rush was coming to an end.) We could see that most of the tables on the outdoor patio were occupied, but we could also see a couple of tables that were available. When we told the hostess that we'd like to eat lunch on the patio, she replied that they were not currently accepting walk-ins to sit on the patio, but would we'd like to sit inside. It seemed a bit strange, but being a beautiful day, we didn't want to sit inside, so we declined and headed out the door to find some place else to enjoy lunch. As we were unlocking our bikes, a young woman who looked like a manager came out and got our attention and introduced herself as Brittany. She said that there was a short wait for an outside table, maybe 5 minutes or so for them to clean it up and get it reset. She said that they did indeed have a couple of reservations outside, but that tables were also opening up. We went back in, waited a couple of minutes, and then sat down for a lovely lunch I think that the hostess was probably just a little confused and used verbage that was slightly incorrect, but we're so thankful that Brittany recognized the situation and came out after us! I had the Seafood Louie Salad (As I almost always do when I come here) and my wife had the Fish and Chips. They were both delightful, as usual. Also, this place has the best sourdough bread anywhere! And one more also, they have fried Ipswich clams, just like the ones I love so much when I visit family back in New Hampshire

Very disappointed. Ate here because we laid my mother to rest from the Orca Too that day. I…read morebrought 7 people to enjoy a meal. I'll just lay out the issues: 1) Brick chicken was DRY! Two people got it. Both dry. 2) Two people ordered steak. They both came out wrong. One of them was WAY over cooked. Took way to long to get a replacement. Both those people were eating long after everyone else. 3) For a dish that costs $150 I expect perfection. Instead the King Crab was utter trash. You don't get a full cluster. You get about three legs and even then not the full legs. They cut the legs down the middle BEFORE cooking. I thought this was a seafood restaurant? How on Earth are the chefs there so inept that they would make such a massive error with such an expensive item? When you cut the legs lengthwise THEN cook them the shell curls in on itself. Thus shredding the meat!!!! We didn't have king crab, we ate shredded king crab. 4) No one can make up their mind about parking fees. When we showed up they were not open. The valet wasn't there. We ran into the captain of the Orca Too and he told us we could park in the restaurant parking lot, no problem. After the boat ride one of my guests went to their car and he was accosted by the valet yelling at him that he can't park there. After explaining the situation he was told it would be $15 and the valet took his keys away from him. An employee at the restaurant said it would be $7 to park. As each party left (at different times) we were all charged different things. $7, $10 and $15. What a joke! To spend $400 and to have that many problems on a day that was supposed to be special.....gut wrenching. Apparently the fish and chips are good. So stick with that and stay away from the $150 dishes that they have no business cooking.

I went on a monday night and got the baja bucket which was the deal for the night ! The baja bucket contains. 4 lobster tails, 12 shrimp, 2 corn on the cobs, chicken, steam, rice and beans, tortilla, and a salad (or up charge soup) plus fried ice cream at the end. OMG! It was soooo good, the food is flash fried which worked perfectly for this meal. Everything was cooked perfectly, j clouding the lobster. I enjoyed every bite. I will say I split this with my boyfriend and there was sooo much food that by the time the ice cream came around it was hard to fully indulge in because I was so stuffed! Modal night the deal brings this meal to about 70/80 dollars. That is honestly so much food and hard to come by in 2026! I've been telling so many of my friends about the experience here. The servers were attentive and very knowledgeable. The place looks like a cute tiki dive bar but restaurant style. It' has a cute waterfall that we were able to sit next to. Also their cocktails are nice! Cannot wait to go back

Service: 100/100 Drinks: 50/100…read moreFood: 20/100 Ordered the Golden Sombrero meal ($149 for two) and got the add-on chowder which was actually good. The lobster was good, shrimp pretty meh but the Alaskan King Crab ruined just about everything. Steak was ordered Medium but came out Done, chicken was basic, and corn was chewy and not fresh like it had been boiled, steamed, and then grilled. The margaritas we ordered were too sweet and about 16oz with only one shot in the drink ($18 each) not worth the price for juice and hardly any alcohol. Now, back to the ruinous Alaskan King Crap (not a typo). The crab was molting which means when you crack open the shell there's a leathery skin on the meat inside that's supposed to replace the outer shell when the crab is still growing, this extends to the spikier parts of the crab and if swallowed could cause issues and is dangerous to eat. My girlfriend and I tried to eat around it and see if it was just a few legs but it was the whole damned thing. Our wonderful server offered us a replacement of snow crab but our total bill was never adjusted so we paid for King Crab and never got it. I hear that this is par for the course for this place which is sad because this place used to be pretty legendary. Too bad, I don't recommend but left a star for our server who was awesome.
