Friendly service. Tasty ice cream offerings. I've never felt rushed when I was there and you can taste what you'd like. I haven't tasted a bad flavor here which makes it harder to pick. Super cute new ice creamery in Lake City! I stopped in with a friend last night and tried my go-to favorite flavor, cookies & cream, in a waffle cone, priced at a reasonable $3.50. While we were there, we chatted with the owner and even got to try a sample of one of their smoothies - I'll try one of these next times. I had been dying to try the new ice cream shop in Lake City. It did not disappoint, let's get one thing clear right away, this ice cream is DELICIOUS! You can really taste the quality of their ingredients and the craftsmanship that goes into this ice cream... top that with friendly staff, fair prices, a clean facility, and easy access (back entrance has two small stairs) and you've got a slam dunk! They have non 1 dairy ice cream (vanilla) and several sorbet's. (Staff member told me they are working on flavors to expand their non dairy/vegan selection) I am looking forward to trying one of their shakes and smoothies! If I would change anything I would start a loyalty/reward program to get locals coming back for more. read more

This is a great local ice cream shop with lots of flavors to choose from. Their Kona Coffee ice cream is one of the best coffee ice creams I've had. They also have some old school ice cream shop classics with shakes, floats and a lime Rickey. Free ice cream for dogs too! And how can you not love the Bassett Hound sign. We love this place! It's within walking distance and my daughter begs to go regularly. The staff are friendly, the ice cream is scrumptious, and their chili is some of the best I've ever tasted. They've started serving chili, btw - along with hot dogs, bratwurst, meatball sandwiches, and there are some vegan items. If you have a dog - the place is named after their dog and they sell home-made treats so no one has to feel left out. Highly recommend! read more

Read up on the story of this joint, you won't be disappointed. Richard Ridout started the nonprofit Bounceback Seattle in 2018 and was working to house homeless residents of Lake City in a local church when the pandemic hit. The housing he had in mind didn't work with social-distancing measures, so Ridout, who was once homeless himself, decided to help his neighborhood in another way: by opening an ice cream shop. Ridout, who's 72, opened Lil' Tiger Ice Cream, which is named after his basset hound, on May 3. He says he donates an amount equivalent to 50% of the tips received at the shop to a different nonprofit every month, though he takes that money out of his revenue, not out of employee tips. Ridout says that was around $1,700 per month in May and June, which he donated to Coyote North, an organization that helps kids build useful skills, and the Hunger Intervention Program, which fights food insecurity in King County. In July, the ice cream parlor will donate to the horticulture program at Nathan Hale High School and, in August, to Literacy Source, an organization that helps adults, mainly immigrants, learn the literacy skills they need to succeed in America. read more
