Liliha Bakery was on a lot of people's must-try lists, so we put it on ours. We came here for lunch and were seated outside. What was interesting was how many birds were trying to come and steal your food from the table! Be aware of that. Service was good, food was alright. I ordered a noodle dish with shrimp in it. But the shrimp sort of tasted very dry. Overall it was an alright spot. Tried their ube mochi thing as well and to me I didn't really enjoy it. A bit on the dry side as well. But maybe I would come back to try some other items.
We actually didn't plan to do dinner. I was told by many that the baked goods here were something special and worth trying. Knowing me, I was most interested in the dessert, but we ended up dining here on a whim. We had really great service when we dined in. I ordered the oxtail soup because I hadn't had it before, which fulfills my rule of trying new foods when I can. It was tasty, with a unique spice blend reminiscent of other beef soups I've had in the past. However, I was particularly wowed however by the complementary bread and raspberry jam. Call me simple, but the bread was actually the star of the show for me, perfectly soft and buttery. The location in Waikiki is perhaps a clear reminder that it is a tourism city. The atmosphere is that of fine dining. Not a bad place to grab a meal when on vacation in Honolulu.
Good bread pudding. Very good blueberry scones. Good mochi ball. Everyone likes their order, but we bought too much to eat it all fresh. What we ate fresh was fantastic, what we waited a day for was good. Quite a line, but it moved quickly. Looks like they are used to dealing with it and they did so nicely.
Went to grab some bakery items one day and sat for breakfast another day. The first items we grabbed were the French donut (flavorless - would not recommend) and the onion bread (good but a little dry). But we sat down the next day and got the garlic spam fried rice and it was delicious. We also got the cinnamon roll which was so good! Service was great.
Wow nice place for breakfast guys. Waikiki beach there are many breakfast places but this one really gives you what you're looking for. I ordered two eggs with corn beef hash. It comes with rice and a salad and delicious coffee. My wife ordered two eggs and bacon same with rice and salad. And then they bring you their specialty butter roll.... Oh my gosh it was so good.. it right in the international market third floor and they also have a great bakery... I give them 5 star for cleanliness, food and great service... and as far as Waikiki prices are reasonable... don't miss it...
Having awesome experience at the Pearl City Liliha and in love with their butter mochi, we made a come back to the Waikiki one for the savory food. It was a nicer space that looked newer as well but the service was unfortunately super slow. We needed to call the servers for multiple times before our order was finally picked up and it took awhile before getting our food ready. Then we also weren't given the butter roll until we asked (deep frowned). Fortunately the Loco Moco made it up as it's so filling, the beef hamburg was juicy, and the gravy was well-seasoned with perfectly cooked sunny side up. The butter roll did earn it's spotlight being so fluffy and aromatic especially served warm and fresh!
We came as a large group of 16 people for brunch on our last day on the Island. A few days before my daughter and I stopped to buy some pastries to go and both times we went the place was packed! They serve complimentary bread while you wait for your orders and OMG that bread was to die for with their housemate jelly/spread. The Smoked pineapple pork belly I ordered had a bit of a kick but since the flavors were good I ate it all up. Their Mac salad is quite refreshing and the burger was extraordinary. My drink was the best! I could drink a whole pitcher of it in one sitting if it was bottomless refills! So refreshing and just the right amount of sweetness. I highly recommend coming here but come early as the lines get crazy. On the flip side, if you get hungry while you wait, you can always sample their pastries which are all pretty darn good as well.
We came here 8 months ago and not having good services by this lady here but my kids like the food here so we come back again. We order some dishes and a bowl of oxygen tail soup. It came out very fast but it is a small bowl so I order another bowl. We finished our lunch about 30 minutes and that soup still haven't come out so we ask the service man to bring us the bill and make sure to cancel the soup. 5 minutes later, this lady came and told us that we have to pay for the soup because we order it and because the restaurant very crowded so it taking 15-20 minutes to make it but we were there more then half an hour and this place is emtpty. We don't want to make a big scenes so we pay for it and left. Later the service guy apologized to us and told us that she is the manager here. She must be the greedy owner. This definitely be our last time here.
Stopped for breakfast and grabbed some pastries to go for later. So many good breakfast items to choose from like chocolate chip Mac nut waffle, porky belly items, Mahi Mahi & eggs plate, etc. The butter rolls they bring before your meal are so delicious we ordered some to go! Liliha Bakery is on the top floor of the International Marketplace (gorgeous seating areas, feels like you're at the treetop level). The bakery is modern and very beautiful with an outdoor patio. We stopped by to take some pastries to go. Their cream puffs are popular so we tried both the green tea and coco puffs. The green tea cream puff was light and airy. The perfect mix of sweet cream with a hint of salt. The coco puff was a classic chocolate cream puff, but nothing that special. We also tried one of their mochi bites which was the perfect chewy texture. The one item that I wouldn't recommend was the lilikoi malasada. I'm not sure if we got an older malasada, but the breading tasted like a dry cake donut. The filling tasted nothing of lilikoi unfortunately. Wouldn't recommend as compared to other malasada spots in Waikiki. Overall would come again for the cream puffs and possibly to try one of their breakfast dishes.
We visited Liliha Bakery at the International Market Place in Waikīkī yesterday. The food was absolutely delicious and definitely lived up to the hype! Everything we ordered was fresh and flavorful. Unfortunately, the service didn't match the quality of the food. Our waitress seemed to be having a rough day. The table behind us had to send food back three different times because they kept receiving the wrong orders, and there was about a 30-minute period where our server completely disappeared. We had to ask another staff member for our check and to-go boxes. She also never came back to check on our table or refill our water. Everyone has off days, so we're hoping that's all it was. We'd definitely come back because the food was so good--we just hope to have a different server next time.
After our bakery hopping adventure, we stopped by Halekulani Bakery since we were still craving more pastries after only having two at our previous spot. The display looked very appealing, so we picked several items: Green Tea Croissant, Dubai Chocolate Croissant, Coconut Danish, Dubai Chocolate Coco Puff, and Guava Cream Cheese Strudel. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing. All of the pastries were overwhelmingly sweet to the point that it was difficult to taste the individual flavors. Everything had a similar sugary profile, which took away from what should have been distinct items. The texture and freshness were also lacking. The pastries were soft in a soggy way rather than light and flaky. They tasted like pre-made pastries you might find packaged at a grocery store rather than freshly baked. Overall, we did not enjoy the experience and ended up not finishing some of the items because they were too sweet. :(

Pros: The Pastries and the fresh made Hawaiian Bread were awesome! I'll never eat store-bought Hawaiian Bread ever again. Cons: The overpriced & overhyped food, and the service. A major letdown was their service. Many of the staff goes through the motions and is not really genuine. They probably encounter too many tourists. We decided to eat outside which has a great ambiance and views of the Waikiki buildings. The Loco Moco was good, but nothing to rave about. Our local friends recommended the Coco Puff, which was good. The hot coffee was cold, and not fresh. Overall, the food was ok, but the service lacks. Definitely come for the pastries and the Hawaiian Bread, not the hot food or service. read more

Cashier LB4*B2 - Filipino woman with a bad attitude. I literally just asked if there was any special Ube flavored pastries today and she said "did you see any?" I also wanted a butter roll with the jam - their signature pastry - but was told that you can only order it while dining in. Otherwise you have to buy the full jar? I'm already paying nearly $40 and can't get the jam to go??? Whatever I hope you get written up for your poor service. I'd rather buy my pastries at the original location or at Ala Moana Center. How can you act like that in a customer service job? read more
...we came to Liliha Bakery (because of me) JUST to check out the hype of THE BUTTER ROLLS! VERDICT: Delicious warm (a little too buttery) ... The jam is AMAZING! ... NOT good at all cold, it's just bread. LOL The waitress told us the Loco Moco was the #1 best seller, so my husband went with it. It wasn't, "the best" but the rest of us had great luck after doing our Yelp homework.... The Mahi was amazing, as was the fried & mushroom chicken... The Mac salad does not live up to Hawaiian Mac salad at all. We left most of it on our plates! There's something green in it, like chopped parsley, but totally NOT a fan... and I go around eating plate lunches mostly to compare mac salads. LOL We passed on dessert here this time cuz we're off to shave ice . I've tried the Coco Puffs, and I'm just ok with them, so next time I'll definitely try a dessert here too! Our waitress was VERY PATIENT with us as she had to come back 3-4 times to see if we were ready.... It was hard to decide. Unfortunately, I didn't get her name. read more

Came here for brunch. Started with guava mimosas and wonderful service. I can't remember the girls name that helped us, sorry. We ate outside for the beautiful weather and it was nice. Butter rolls and guava sauce are 5 by itself. I could eat the rolls all day long. Got the loco moco with fried rice. It was amazing! We shared macadamia nut pancakes and they were also amazing. Liliha never disappoints. Thank you Liliha Bakery! read more
My bf and I visited Hawaiʻi to celebrate our anniversary, and since it was just the two of us, we were looking for a small slice cake to share. After doing some research, Liliha Bakery kept coming up, so we decided to give it a try. There weren't too many slice options, but I love trying foods made with local ingredients, so I went with the Guava Passion Chiffon Cake. It's a layered lilikoi chiffon cake with custard filling, whipped cream, guava cake crumbs, and lilikoi icing. The cake was incredibly moist and we absolutely loved it. Service was quick, and the ambience felt very cozy. I've heard their food is great too, but I didn't get a chance to try it this time. read more
Solid spot for breakfast or brunch or pastries! I liked how at the start of each meal, there was a complimentary bread basket with a delicious jam. The food was pretty solid and we all had leftovers. When heading out, grab a pastry for later! read more

The food is nostalgic - especially for folx from here. I came for the puffs, but my friend convinced me to have much. Gotta have the butterfish. A little salty, so opt for the white rice (and just pick off your friend's plate for fried rice). The rolls are super yummy too! The service is fast and attentive. Located in a mall, the ambiance is casual. A good place to cool off on a hot day. read more
I came here with my friend for dinner. It is located on the second floor of the international Marketplace. It was a Saturday night and very busy. You have to sign in on the computer when you arrive. That's how they put everyone on the waiting list. We were given a very nice table outside and it was a beautiful night. We went there for the prime rib, as my friend had had it several times there. However, unfortunately, they were out of it that night. I ended getting the butter and my friend got the Loco Moco .All very Good. Everyone is and crispy rolls. They make them outside as a special station and they serve them with some amazing local jam. The only thing that could've been better was drink refills. We were both very thirsty on that day and we didn't ask if a refill until we were ready to go. But, things happen ,they were very busy. They also Have a baked goods display in the front entrance of the restaurant. I have been to the Liliha at The Ala Moana Mall, also very good. read more

First time trying Liliha Bakery in Waikiki and it was a great experience. We came in as a party of 41 for a family reunion, and the staff handled everything with ease. Our servers were polite, efficient, and hardworking. Service was fast, friendly, and really helped make the day feel special. Everyone had a good time and left full and happy. The food lived up to the hype. Liliha Bakery is known for their original Coco Puff, Poi Mochi Donuts, and Chantilly Cake, but they also have a solid menu for brunch, lunch, and dinner. My wife enjoyed the Chicken and Waffles, and I had the baked salmon, which was flavorful and cooked perfectly. We'll definitely be back before the trip ends to try more dishes and grab a few pastries to go. Great spot for big groups and delicious local comfort food. read more

It was our last day in Honolulu and we wanted a quick, last breakfast near the hotel. Saw Liliha Bakery and thought it was worth a visit! The food was tasty and the service was attentive. My family enjoyed the food as well. There is a lot of seating inside and outside. read more
An absolute must visit! Amazing bakery and also a great breakfast menu. World famous Coco Puffs. A puff pastry filled with chocolate mousse and topped with a wonderful Chantilly Cream topping. However next time, the moment I land in Honolulu, I'll pick up one of the Chantilly Cakes and have that last for my whole trip. The cake is cheaper than a dozen Puffs! Breakfast begins with a complimentary basket of amazing butter buns, served with cherry jelly. The eggs Florentine was awesome with diced Portuguese Sausage inside. The eggs rest on top of fresh moist corn bread. Served with breakfast potatoes and small salad. I got an extra size of the aioli that was drizzled on top of everything. Unfortunately the bacon was not good. It was cold and seemed to have been cooked a while ago. The side of Corned Beef Hash was great and homemade and nicely minced with no big chunks. Pleasant ambience with tropical foliage around you as you dine in the outdoor seating area. Good service! read more
Review for dine-in. Got the two eggs, sausage, and rice, greens with ranch dressing. The staff were really friendly and the bread was so good. I don't know what they put in them but it was buttery and very flaky. The eggs and sausage were cooked great and the bakery items were good albeit very sweet. I'll be back if in the area. read more
Food was great and so did the service. We got: -loco moco fried rice: great option if you ever want to try loco moco enhance with their delicious fried rice. Their gravy is perfect consistency but I've tried better in depth flavor else where. But I care about the consistency of the gravy so this is good to me. -carved prime rib 10oz (rice upgraded to fried rice) 10/10. Meat was perfectly tender and very well seasoned. -guava plantation iced tea: I loved it. If you like drinks that's not overly sweetened, this is a great refreshing option. -famous butter roll: soft crispy and buttery. read more
Had wanted to stop at Liliha Bakery for their loco moco for breakfast while I was in Oahu, but never had a chance. BUT, I *did* make a quick stop at their bakery in Waikiki to pick up a couple of butter rolls. I had them the next morning with an egg; toasted them and put butter on them. They were still delicious, just like I remember! The woman at the counter who helped me was nice and friendly, too, so that added to a positive experience. Along with the two butter rolls, I got a cream puff with the custard filling and this is where they lost one star; it just wasn't very tasty. The custard was a bit gelatinous. Maybe I should've gotten their famous Coco Puff! Oh, well, next time! read more
A must go to spot when you come to Hawaii! This particular location is inside the International Market Place and on the 3rd floor. Right when you enter, the bakery greets you. There's items from cakes, cupcakes, donuts, cream puffs, pastries that are sweet and savory and cookies. If you're in a hurry, order ahead! Because the line can get so long. Even if you're wanting to eat at the restaurant. But keep in mind the check in for the restaurant once you pass the bakery, is on the left and put your name on the wait list. We ordered the 2 piece fried chicken, the oxtail soup, chicken and waffle and kimchee fried rice with spam. To drink, I got the Guava Plantation Iced Tea. The food is good, and the soup hits when you're craving soup. Service honestly is a hit or miss here from the times I've gone. But giving 4 stars because the food is consistent from the times I've swung by. ***but be warned if you sit outside, there are birds constantly flying around and trying to get your food. And of course unleashing their missles*** read more
This is what you should expect from a quality bakery/restaurant in a quality area. Staff are Great 5/5 the food is 5/5 Kimchee fried rice with eggs generous portions. If you like Butter dont sleep on the butter rolls. This is a must try in Waikiki. read more
Liliha Bakery is a must stop when in Waikiki. It's located on the third level of the International Market Place. I really love the decor with all the historic photos from the bakery's early days. Great food and service to match. We went with the Loco Moco and the Ultimate Berries & French Toast for breakfast. Of course you have to try the Butter Rolls! read more

Our first real meal from a late night flight the night before. From our timeshare on Kuhio Ave it was 1 block away at the International Marketplace. From first glance the place looks modern and generic in a chain restaurant kinda way. Wow quite a bit of folks eating/ drinking at the bar at 9am The menu is extensive. We ended up choosing the short stack with berries, veggie omlette and the 2 egg plate. With the coffee and guava ice tea the total was $75. So with tip it's a benjamin. Bill caught me off guard (LA prices lol) but we ate up everything. Pancakes great! Service was ok our waitress was very sweet but looks like lots of tables were waiting. Don't know if it's under staffing or island life. read more

This was my second visit, and the location itself is clean and upscale. The bakery is excellent, with plenty of delicious options from cream puffs to malasadas. You really can't go wrong there. Unfortunately, my experience fell apart when it came to the service. My wife and I ordered the Ultimate Berries & Nuts Short Stack, and it was incredibly disappointing. The pancakes were extremely dry, even after adding an excessive amount of syrup. They crumbled into dust with the lightest touch of a fork. I'm not someone who typically complains at restaurants, but this dish was bad enough that I felt compelled to bring it to a manager's attention. The manager condescendingly asked whether I had used syrup and then refused to remake the dish because we had taken more than two bites . My recommendation: skip dining in. Visit the bakery, enjoy the pastries, and move on. read more
This was our first meal at Waikiki. After being super tried from morning flight, it tasted so good!! We went around 2 pm, turns out you could still get breakfast item as well. It was not that crowded but the restaurant was still packed with people eating and drinking when we went. You can sit in the warm patio seating or inside with AC. We sat inside because it was kinda hot when we went. Everything we ordered was delicious! It was not salty at all!! Which I love bc I can always add more flavor if I want to. The gravy was so light and meaty at the same time. The beef patties were so beefy but not fatty at all. Out of all the items, I love the miso butterfish the most! The fish was so fresh and soft. It was not fishy at all. You can definitely taste the miso tho! It was so buttery soft and fresh. Definitely recommend this one!! It's not called bakery for a reason tho! Every table gets complimentary basket of soft rolls. It was sweet, buttery, and fluffy! Because of the rolls, I also got some baked goods, sweets, and cream puffs. I wasn't really a fan of the baked goods. They're known for the cream puffs but I think you can find better cream puffs on Waikiki or china town. I would skip on cream puffs, the cream is kinda heavy. Out of all the sweets, I really like the pineapple upside down cake. It was so fresh and sweet. Really love this place!! Great service especially with what looked like 3-4 servers for a full restaurant. Our food came out in 10-15 minutes, with the butter roll as appetizers. The Oreo milkshake was sweet and creamy, wasn't as cold as we thought it would be but still great. The loco moco was flavorful and the gravy mixed with the eggs/fried rice felt like a homemade meal. The smoked Hawaiian pork belly was our favorite and would definitely be the dish we'd recommend with the loco moco! Definitely on our top 5 list to revisit at Oahu! read more

Wanted to try this bakery because all the hype!! And it was very delightful!! I tried the cinnamon roll and it was tasty! Just wished they could warm it up for customers! The service was not that great this is why I gave 3 stars! I felt a lil rushed and I couldn't decide what I really wanted. However, the pastries were good and it was clean inside!! A try in Hawaii for sure !! read more
Checked out Liliha Bakery while walking around International Market Place. They have four other locations. Worker manning the front was unfriendly. Tried a guava chiffon puka ($8.95 USD) and poi donut ($3.19 USD). Donut was a hybrid; mochi inside, glazed donut outside. Usually love their chiffon cakes but this flavour was dry and bland. read more
I loved this place!!. A new favorite for me for breakfast anywhere and in Oahu!. It was soooo good. The service was excellemt, tge food yummy and lots of it!. Clearly a local favorite too. We were at tge one on waikiii at tge Internatuonal Marketplace, a beautiful little Bakery/Restaurant!!. Highly recommended!!! read more

The restaurant is beautiful, upscale vibe. The bakery side had so many delicious looking treats I wish I'd known before going but was on a mission for Loco Moco. We really enjoyed the loco moco and was pleasantly surprised to been served rolls and jelly to start. The menu has so much to choose from. I'd love to go back and try more. The place is a little difficult to find if you're unfamiliar. Tip: it's top floor, find the escalators and you'll be led straight to it. read more
Came with a party of 8 It did take a while for staff to get our order they seemed busy Saturday night but overall the service was exceptional! Food is so comforting and man can't go wrong with those Cocoa Puffs!!! My water was filled constantly and I kept drinking a lot. It was a thirsty night for me lol. It's a pretty loud environment there's outdoor and indoor seating. You can talk comfortably with your group. They also validate and the parking for me was about $4. read more
ORDER matcha cream puff (2/5) matcha croissant (3/5) both lacked the matcha flavor, but the croissant was good. it was buttery and fluffy. id recommend trying the other pastries they have considering the high reviews. Liliha Bakery - Waikiki 20 Oct 2025 With my visit to the Liliha Bakery at the International Marketplace (Waikiki), I have visited and dined at ALL Liliha Bakeries locations - and the original remains da best. The food at the Waikiki location is to standard, but the service was sub-par. A group of five seated on a slow Sunday afternoon and our orders were wrong and the delay getting the correct order long. I asked the server about the pork belly loco moco and was advised it would be a bit greasy with the gravy - so I opted for the regular loco moco. When my meal arrived, it was the pork belly; nope asked for the loco moco. A few minutes later, a chicken dish arrived. Nope - the meal needed to be re-ordered and it was behind the queu of a large group so it was delayed. My nephew ordered the terri burger without tomato and side order of mac salad in addition to the salad - what he received was the terri buger with tomato and NO mac salad. And it was included in the bill. My mom ordered the seven grain rice instead of the white rice; when she received her meal, it was white, not the seven grain version. Located on the third floor of the International Market Place, the dining and bar area are much larger than the bakery area. Based on the location, it's obvious it is geared for tourists, so repeat business may not be expected. The meal was good, when it arrived, and unfortunately, the service was less than adequate which made it an unfortunate experience & meal. The bakery portion is small, a counter (similar to the Ala Moana (in Macy's) location), so dining is the main emphasis of this location. If given a choice, go elsewhere in Waikiki, however if close to the Nimitz, original Liliha (Kuakini St), Pearl City, or even the Ala Moana locations, recommend visiting the establishments. read more

With five locations around the greater Honolulu metropolitan area, Liliha Bakery has become a local destination in their very own right. Since opening their first location 75 years ago on Kuakini Street mere steps away from Liliha Street, which no doubt led to their namesake. Now with an expansion that began over twenty years ago with additional locations in the Ala Moana Shopping Center and even towards the outskirts of the greater Honolulu area, Liliha Bakery has truly established themselves as the go-to place for those who need to satiate both their sweet tooth and savory cravings. When determining a nice place to enjoy a lunchtime meal with some fellow Yelpers, where else would they suggest the Liliha Bakery location in Waikiki. Open in the fall of 2021 on the fourth level Grand Lanai of the International Market Place, replacing what was once a high-end Hakkasan Restaurant, Liliha Bakery has arrived on the main tourist thoroughfare of Kalākaua Avenue, and it is the perfect place for locals and out-of-towners alike to meet up and gather for a hearty meal, which is what a group of friendly Yelpers and I did on a recent weekday afternoon for lunch. Upon entry to their rooftop location, visitors will instantly notice their huge bakery counter that greets everyone, you will also notice the huge bar area that seems left over from the Hakkasan era but fits right in with this new modern feel for Liliha Bakery, as this location also serves beer, wine, and cocktails. The food menu at Liliha Bakery is separated into categories including Daily Specials, Breakfast Features, Breakfast, Side Orders, Lunch & Dinner, Salads, Local Favorites, Car-Broiled Burgers, Sandwiches, Beverages, Classic Milkshakes, Beers, Wines, and Hand-Crafted Cocktails. With this being my first visit to Liliha Bakery I knew I wanted to get one of their signature dishes, and there was something about their Fried Chicken, which apparently not at every location has this particular dish. So although I would order the 2 Piece Fried Chicken, apparently there was a miscommunication with our server and I received their 3 Piece Fried Chicken, which was one drumstick and two thigh pieces, and served with their famous butter roll, rice, corn, and my choice of their potato-mac salad. Our server asked if I wanted fried rice for an extra cost and I agreed with this menu option. Others in our party opted to split versions of their Teri Burger Deluxe and Hamburger Deluxe both of which featured a ground chuck hamburger patty served on a fresh baked bun with their lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles and a side of their signature fried potatoes and a mixed green salad. As we waited for our lunch order to arrive, we were satiated by four complimentary servings of famous butter rolls served alongside their signature strawberry jelly of which they sell at their bakery and of which one of my fellow diners was nice enough to purchase a glass jar for me to take home with me. Eventually our food did come, and my fried chicken was crispy, juicy, and flavorful with every bite. I really enjoyed their version of fried rice and their spin on a potato salad was a different change of pace. My other fellow diner seemed to enjoy their burgers which seemed juicy upon being plated and what I most enjoyed about all of our entrées, was that everything was very hearty and easily could have been a couple of meals for those who like to eat small. Our total bill for three dishes was a little under seventy dollars, which is definitely on the higher side, of which I was happy to enjoy a little extra food back where I was staying for a quick future meal. Liliha Bakery has expanded so rapidly over the past two decades over their past seventy-five years in business and with another location on its way in the Waikiki area not too far away from this location, just proves that they are just getting started. Unfortunately there is none, it's a small place but everything they do have is amazing!
Do they serve the Oxtail soup early in the morning or is it just breakfast items?
Lisa, they will serve oxtail soup in the morning if they have it prepared. Sometime they're still cooking the batch of oxtail soup for the day, and they don't have any to serve at the moment.

Was the service bad/ slow?
When we were there in May we had no issues with service. We were there at peak dinner time as well. The staff seemed very efficient and well organized.
