I remember before, this one of the places we used to eat, besides Zippys, very late at night, or during the wee hours of the early morning. Lol, But nah, they popular for their Cocoa Puffs, poi mochi donut, their grilled butter roll with jelly, and their foods, period. Like their hamburger steak, or loco moco, and breakfast menu. They have established, like 3 to 4, 5 other locations on Oahu, aside from the original Liliha Bakery, get on Nimitz, Ala Moana, and I think Pearl City and Waikiki if I'm not mistaken. All locations have the bakery side for grab and go, and the dining side. Customer service is always great. Dining interior is always clean, and acceptable. Well, this original location only get bar stool seating and couple tables in the back, like in the kitchen area, which is kind of cool cuz you get to see and watch how clean and sanitary they actually is. And the other locations actually have a dining room, room area. All in all, always a must in Hawaii when can. Definitely be back as always for grindz and grab my cocoa puff, poi mochi donut, and grilled butter roll with jelly fix. 10/10 recommend. read more

Everything went so well. Second time to O'AHU and second time I went to Lide for the purposes of their Apple turnover. It's the best that I have had. There's so much apple in there that it's the best so far for me. Not only the bakery but their croissant grilled mahi mahi. So good!!!!! Service of course is fantastic!!! The best Puffs ever! We visited the location inside the Ala Moana mall and as expected it was crowded. You need a ticket number to get to the counter to place your order but they are really fast. We tried all of their Puffs and the pies amd everything was soo good. The Puffs were soft and melted in your mouth and the cream was creamy without being oversweet. The bakery doesn't have any gluten free options but the diner side had plenty of gluten free food options. We got the garlic fries ride with eggs and ham. It was absolutely delicious. Huge serving. Our tour guide highly recommended this place (though coincidentally we had planned to come here that day anyway) and I can see why! The flavors of everything we ordered were incredible and went together so well. Nothing tasted bland or overpowering. We ordered a clam chowder which tasted pretty standard. Complimentary dinner rolls came warm, were super buttery and soft, and there was a guava syrup/jam (super sweet) in a little container that could be closed, which was awesome since we ended up taking that with these rolls in our leftovers box. The complimentary guava juice was also perfect! Kimchi fried rice was slightly spicy. The scrambled eggs I ordered were completely unseasoned but texture was fluffy with no burnt spots. I chose Portuguese sausage which was very savory and smoky. Same thing for the pork belly (we ordered the smoked pineapple pork belly as another entree). The pork belly wasn't the melt-in-your-mouth kind but more chewy, but the flavor and slightly sweet glaze (maybe pineapple to match the grilled pineapple slices?) were amazing. Garlic fried rice (substituted) was also pretty good, as well as the very creamy mac salad (from the mayo). I've been to the location a few times for their bakery items like the coco puffs, but never sat down at the counter for their food. This time I showed up specifically to try their loco moco. It was okay, but nothing worth going out of my way for. The service from the older Filipino ladies is a bit grumpy. When I ordered the loco moco with fried rice, the server let out a big SIGH and said "so fried rice loco moco." I guess she wanted to clarify that I didn't want an additional plate of fried rice to go along with a regular white rice loco moco. Ok, whatever. We also tried their oxtail soup, which was ok. I saw them heating up most of the components in a microwave right in front of me. 3 big pieces of oxtail, but nothing else. You have to pay extra for noodles. Their buttered and grilled rolls with that neon red, artificial tasting guava jam? Not really fan. Overall, not exactly cheap either given the service and location. My cousin heard about this place so we had to try it out! This location has a cover area that seats maybe 15 or so as well as a bakery area. We were lucky to find a couple of open spots. We shared the moco loco which also came with buttered rolls that are warm and straight from the grill. I've had several moco locos in my day and this is by far the best one I've had. The portion is huge and sharing it was the perfect amount. The medium over eggs were cooked just as I like, and the gravy was very tasty. The rolls are served with a jam that didn't have much flavor to me but it's popular enough that they sell it in the bakery area. Definitely check them out if you're here! read more

This review is specifically for the gingerbread cookies. I have been buying gingerbread cookies from Liliha Bakery ever since St. Germains bakery closed down several years ago. We love making this our annual tradition with the kids starting from the day after Thanksgiving all the way until Christmas. We buy on average 7-10 cookies at a time and it has always been a favorite of ours. Unfortunately just this month after its initial release, Liliha Bakery decided to skimp big time on their icing. What was once a beautifully iced cookie (with plenty to spare) has now become a sparsely iced cookie which makes it really disappointing because it now looks rushed and skimped yet they still charge $4.25 for ONE COOKIE. Please do better and please bring back your old icing designs despite it being easier for the workers and cheaper. The men gingerbreads are really sad looking. This is my go to location for local bakery desserts. This location is right off the freeway and there is plenty of parking. The staff there are alway friendly and quick. They do great job packing the pastries and making it look pretty in addition to it already tasting good. There's no substitution for the original Liliha Bakery! Stopped here for bfast a couple of months ago when Mark H was in town and I still have to say they have one of the best Loco Mocos around. It probably makes a difference that you have a front row seat to the cooking of your food.
