We were greeted right away by the manager upon checking in. I checked into their kiosk and received a welcome text message. At the end of our lunch, we went to the bakery. I always enjoy browsing through the different types of pastries available. I highly recommend their raspberry jam. It is AMAZING! I always look forward to enjoying the complimentary butter roll and jam when dining in here. To me, It's the star of show. I've gone to Liliha Bakery probably four times now so the verdict is that I definitely love the place, I look forward to my next visit and I'm already dreaming of my next taste of their raspberry jam...
Decided to have my bday dinner at Liliha Bakery on Nimitz tonight since I knew I wanted to pickup a custard pie anyway. It was a good decision. I had the Mushroom Chicken, brown gravy and loads of fresh sliced mushrooms. Very happy with my selection. Hubby had the prime rib, medium rare and it was perfect! Shout out to the delicious potato/Mac salad and of course the jelly and butter rolls. . [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated on the riser section on top behind the bakery, nice and relaxing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tables are nicely spaced, clean and not too loud chattering.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There are also counter seats like the original bakery in Liliha. Bakery has a good array of pastries with a good supply of their famous Cocoa Puffs. We had an early dinner at 5:45 so there was good enough parking right in front. Parking can get crowded when busy but I think I saw an overflow parking in the shop next door.
Breakfast is served all day! If you ever want to eat breakfast for dinner, this is the place to go. Service was quick, we were seated immediately, no reservations needed. Parking is limited, but shared with the steak place next door, so if you drive around the lot, something might open up. They do take out too, so easy to get your food to go too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice seating area, casual with clean restrooms.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Pick up a dessert on the way out of you're too full. Nice portion sizes, you won't be disappointed. Prices average $21/plate.
Liliha Bakery is popular, even iconic, among local Hawaiians. I learned of the cafe from my Hawaiian Yelp friends. This Hawaiian owned bakery is awesome with a colorful selection of donuts and pastries that is breathtaking. My daughter says the Coco Puffs are a popular treat that people bring to work to share with coworkers. Coco Puffs are chocolate filled cream puffs topped with a butterscotch cream. Yes, I tried one, and it was sweet and delicious. We had Sunday brunch at the cafe. The place was busy when we arrived and I easily checked in at the self check in stand. We were seated in about ten minutes. The menu is filled with Hawaiian favorites as well as traditional breakfast and lunch items. I was a bit disappointed that there was no kid's menu for my granddaughter. We ended up buying her an adult pancake breakfast, which she only nibbled on. I had the Grilled Shrimp plate. The shrimp were huge and very good, but very difficult to peel. Their shrimp stuck to the shell as I cleaned them. While I liked my meal, I probably wouldn't get it again because of the difficulty peeling the shrimp. Their famous potato Mac salad is very good (a decadent feast of carbs) that I enjoyed. I had the multigrain rice, which was a hearty blend of grains and beans. The side of roasted corn was delicious. My daughter had the Country Omelette with bacon and cheese. She substituted a side salad for toast. She enjoyed her meal. Rhizza, our server, was friendly and attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have clean and modern restrooms and a private parking lot.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We picked up assorted baked goods to take home, of course. I don't know how anyone could pass those fabulous pastries.
[[HIGHLIGHT]]First impression, I thought the location was kinda hidden and small. But when you enter inside, it's actually huge![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have the bakery, sit down restaursnt area, and an open kitchen.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We came around 4PM and were surprised it was almost empty (but slowly it did get busier).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our food came with complimentary bread with guava sauce. It was really good! The bread is toasted, crispy, and buttery. Everyone in my party enjoyed it. We did not expect our food items to come in really large portions. I loved the chicken karaage! The batter was light and crispy with great flavors and had a yummy sauce drizzled on top. It also came with a scoop of rice, buttered corn, and Mac salad. Mac salad was delicious! Prime rib sandwich came with salad and au jus sauce and a side of salad. It's good but also very filling. I didn't try the burger or teriyaki chicken but was told both were delicious. After dinner, we ordered a few items from the bakery to eat on the plane. You have to take a number and wait for them to call it. I got 2 kouign Amannn, 2 Dubai coco puff, and half dozen green tea puff. The kouign amann is a circular croissant. I liked that it was soft and flaky and had a sweet, crispy glaze over it. The Dubai coco puff had a strong pistachio crunchy flavor but I thought it was way too sweet for me personally. The Star of the show are the green tea cream puffs! I would come back to just order that! The top filling tasted like a thick creamy brown butter green tea-flavored icing. The filling inside doesn't taste like brown butter and less thick but still really good. Overall, they had really good food and items from the bakery. Highly recommend the infamous green tea cream and chicken karaage dish! Customer service was quick and professional though I felt like our server wasn't that friendly lol. One of my favorite places to go to. The atmosphere is amazing, comfortable, and service is great. I usually get a Loco Moco w/ Over Easy egg and it hits everytime, but recently I've been trying new items and it's ALL been delicious. I just love the affordability and consistency they always have here.
Update on this Liliha location 11-6-25. I decided to come here for a one stop shop breakfast and buying a bday cake. Well got seated right away but now to get serve we had water and menus but the server didn't come till about I would say 20 mins or so.but I must agree like short staff and people don't want to work if it's their 2nd job When the server came brought our famous grilled butter rolls and no where in sight after. When she finally came took our order and we waited another 10 mins or so for our food. We ate and left. So to the bakery now I wanted a dream cake and the counter person said sorry no cakes we have no decorator over here and we waiting for the cakes to come in from another bakery. It's was their main store Kuakini store where they have to get the cakes from. Oh well it is what it is. Well I guess the next time pearl highlands for breakfast or lunch.
I've been to Liliha Bakery a handful of times and it's a great spot for comfort food! During my recent visit, we ordered the prime rib French dunk and the mac nut waffle and chicken karaage. Both dishes were pretty good! The prime rib French dunk came on a nice croissant bread and the meat was tender. The Mac nut waffle was sweet and yummy with tasty fried chicken karaage. We also added on a clam chowder to make it a combo with the sandwich and that was pretty good as well. The prices are a bit high and I do feel like the portions could be a bit bigger. But overall, still a nice place to eat with great food and a lot of options to choose from on the menu!
Classic Oahu stop! My cousins brought us here several years ago for brunch and their cream puffs, so we had to come back for a late night sweet treat. We got their original cream puffs, poi donut, and chocolate banana cream pie. Their original cream puff comes with the standard vanilla custard filling. Theirs is not super sweet and the puff itself is so airy and light. Very addicting... Their poi donut surprised me and I ended up loving it more than I thought. Poi is a Hawaiian staple -- pounded taro root with a mild sweet flavor. But, the last time I had it, it was pretty tasteless and cold so I wasn't a huge fan. Nevertheless, this bakery did it justice with a mochi texture and yummy vanilla sugary glaze! Wish I bought a dozen of these. Their "chocolate" banana pie entails more of having a chocolate lined crust and then it's just a banana cream pie. It was delightful and had right amount of sweetness / creaminess. The crust was perfectly flaky and yummy. One note I will say is they don't offer slices of their pies and the worker helping us didn't seem pleased that we were ordering? Maybe just a rough day but it was kind of an off putting experience if this was your first time. Still coming back here though! #loveuliliha
My family and I frequently go to their bakery for their cream puffs and baked goods. This is my first time eating breakfast at this location. I have been to their original location. This one has a lot more seating and is a nice establishment. Unfortunately, do they do not take any reservations. We had a party of 10 but our wait was only 30 minutes which was great. Portion sizes are decent. The food is flavorful and everybody loved what they order. Local moco is always a favorite. We also enjoy their mahi-mahi and their smoked pork belly.

Went to the bakery on Nimitz, had trouble finding parking but be patient because it's worth it! Looks much nicer inside than outside. I can't believe I didn't take any pictures of the food but we dug right in, that's how good it was. Ordered the oxtail soup and chicken karaage, both were delicious. The food at this Liliha Bakery location was just as good as the other locations. The prices are reasonable for the portion size as well. The service by this staff was excellent. They helped us out by relocating us to a lower level table after noticing that one person in our party was using crutches. The ambiance was a little dark the restaurant. But the ambiance was very relaxing and welcoming. read more
The service was fast and friendly. The food was amazing! And of course we were there for the coco puffs! The ambiance was like a diner but more upscale. The building is fairly new. A great place to gather with friends and family. Not to fancy or expensive. Just right! read more

Liliha Bakery is so popular, it actually branched out of Liliha and now has stores all over Oahu Known for their small home style food and neon pink guava jelly, Liliha is the nostalgic home style food packed with flavor that you know what you're going to get every time A local classic is the loco moco with a hamburger patty cooked with salt and pepper, two eggs but you gotta get them over easy for the yolk shot, rice, all covered with luscious and rich brown gravy that brings the whole plate together into warmth and nostalgia If you're into pastries they also have a whole wall of pastries and even take home boxes for the plane before your flight read more

We surprised my grandma from visiting from Colorado and the restaurant and servers were able to accommodate our family of 20! Service was fantastic and everyone was very friendly. Everything was very good and came out hot and fresh! We got the loco moco with fried rice and chicken karaage. Definitely don't forget to stop by the bakery on your way out to get some puffs! Liliha is a Restaurant & a Bakery with a few locations in Honolulu. This was on my list of places to try while in Oahu... Also, Geoffrey from Enterprise Car Rental recommended we try it... Liliha Bakery is a full on restaurant & not just a Bakery. When you first walk in, all you see are the cases of cakes & desserts. My blood sugar shot up just by looking at everything, lol. Omg, so many desserts. Breakfast items are served all day here, according to the waitress. It was an early dinner or late lunch for us coming from Cali time. We definitely came hungry. Our Orders: Butter Rolls - Soo good. Pillowy, buttery bread. Slap on some jam, that's the the business! Oxtail Soup - Huge Bowl of Soup with two good sized pieces of oxtail, w/ green onions, cilantro & a generous amount of peanuts. Comes with your choice of two huge scoops of white or brown rice & can't forget the side of fresh ginger.. Broth was good & I had leftovers. Fried Chicken - Huge pieces of fried chicken that comes w/ a scoop of rice, corn, and your choice of mixed greens or potato-mac salad... We ordered the 3 piece, which was way too much for 2 people. It was good, just wasn't expecting Huge Chicken Pieces. Definitely had leftovers. Didn't end up eating those leftovers. Chicken Karaage - My son ordered this, but he didn't particularly care for it. He said the chicken was a bit tough. But he didn't mention it until later on that night :/ All the Desserts were sweet! Only tried these: Poi Donut - less sweet imo Green Tea Cream Puff - good fresh Coco Puff - Sweet! But A favorite Lilikoi Malasada - should be eaten fresh, mine had a sour taste Overall, If I come back to visit Honolulu, I would come back to Liliha Bakery again, & definitely try Breakfast :) read more

After 4 nights in Honolulu we got to go here on our way to the airport. It was literally the best meal I had the whole trip. Service was friendly and fast. We had 3 dishes and a pancake. All of it was really good. I personally had toe mushroom chicken with potato Mac salad and garlic fried rice. All of it was yummy. The bakery is super cute. Took home an apple turnover for the flight and I wish I would have bought 10 more. read more
After having dinner our guess wanted to get some ice cream and mochi donuts they have heard about. So we decided to go to Liliha Bakery on Nimitz Hwy, after going through the menu, I asked the waitress if they had a dessert menu, which she said only dessert we have is in the bakery products. I've eaten here before but never reviewed them, so here we go! I've been on a waffle roll lately which is what brought me, my spouse and a friend here for breakfast. ATMOSPHERE: Having taken over the former Sam Choy's spot, it's a sizable restaurant with its infamous bakery up front, large central bar, open-view kitchen and mix of seating styles. This is the company's second location of the five in their arsenal. RESERVATIONS: None taken but we easily got in for breakfast on a Saturday morning around 9am. PARKING: Free and adequate. MENU: American & Hawaii-style cuisine for all three meals. Beer & wine. FOOD: Butter Rolls I can't believe these delicious suckers are given to every table! Warm, soft, buttery heaven. Waffard - $16.95 I've been on a waffle roll recently so this caught my attention. Available at four of their five locations (sans the original Kalihi eatery), it's a quartered waffle with custard from their infamous Coco Puffs lathered in between. Loved the crisp & creamy waffles but didn't care for the overly sweet custard. Accompaniments included fresh strawberries, blueberries, sliced almonds and whipped cream. Mushroom Omelet w/ Cheese - $16.95 I added ham to be mixed in for a whopping $6.50 (sides pricing). I didn't care for it as the egg to filling ratio was way off balance as just two-eggs were used. There was also an over abundance of cheese. It was like eating cheesy ham & mushrooms with a hint of egg. I also upgraded to fried potatoes for $0.95 as hash browns aren't on the menu. Expecting yummy seasoned homestyle spuds, I received pretty bland slices of kennebecs. A small salad accompanied but I didn't touch it. Corned Beef Hash - $6.95 Made fresh and not from the can, the patty had good flavor albeit a bit peppery, with a crisp crust. SERVICE: Our female server was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. Truly local-style. Waters and coffees were constantly topped-off. TIP: Their hamburger steak's/loco moco's popularities are well-deserved as they're very legit in the authenticity department. OVERALL: If you're looking for a Hawaii style-diner, they are it. read more
Came here for lunch with my family and I got the Chicken Karaage. It had a LB on it meaning Liliha's Bestseller so I went with that. Lol They served the chicken Karaage with the sauce on the side without me asking and I appreciated that because i was able to share with my daughter. The sauce is a bit on the spicy side but not too spicy. Sooo good tho! I liked it! They also serve those buttered rolls with the jelly omgg it's heaven! My daughter is a picky eater and she ate so much of those rolls! I was a little overwhelmed with the menu but it was such a nice selection of different foods for everyone's different cravings. I absolutely love that. The server was very attentive and came constantly making sure we were ok. And I loved how she wasn't hard to flag them down because there was always someone insight. Although we never had to because everything was perfect. I also got their iced coffee. Vanilla sweetened, and it was surprisingly super good!! I'd get it again. The lights in here are on the dimmer side so it does make it look a little more fancier. And the noise level is pretty even. Loud enough for conversations and quiet enough to hear them. Hahaha. Great place for breakfast lunch & dinner. On the way out, walk past the bakery & don't forget your dessert! We didn't! We left with 2 boxes full of pastries! read more
[Food] - Saimin ($9.50): I know this is basically a wonton type of noodle soup, but I just can't get enough of it when I'm in Hawaii. Savory and comforting! - Loco Moco ($17.50): Make sure you mix this well with rice as it can get a bit too salty. Enjoyed this overall, as the gravy, patty, rice, and egg all balanced out well together. - 3 Hotcakes ($12.95): A bit dry, so I will skip on this next time. We got this mainly because my family wanted a sweet breakfast option as well. [Service] - Fast, friendly, patient - Pretty busy when we came on a Wednesday at 9:30am; About a 45 minute wait for a party of 9. [Ambiance] - Bakery and dine-in services with decent amount of seating indoors. [Overall] - Would come back again for the Saimin and Loco Moco, but would definitely love to try other dishes as well. read more
The service was much better this time. The server let my choose the fried chicken pieces that I wanted. I told her that I wanted the white meat pieces and that I would take a wing and breast. She said for a dollar more I could have three pieces of fried chicken. I ended up with two breast and one wing. My meal also included corn, white rice and potato/mac salad. We also got the prime rib and chicken waffle. Every item that we ordered was good. The complimentary bread is always on point. It's toasted, buttery and so yummy with the red jelly. Our server came to check on us multiple times. She was great. I believe her name is Sharon. I like how they bring a whole carafe of water and just leave it at the table, so you can just pour it yourself. The food came within 10 minutes. Everything was just great tonight. read more
Went for Saturday morning breakfast and were able to easily get a table. There is ample seating, but it is a little squishy in there. I got a fried rice loco moco and I loved how garlicky the rice was. The overall dish was a little on the saltier side, but still delicious. I loved the butter rolls that came with the dish -- toasted to perfection. It was also very convenient for us to pick up some Cocoa Puffs before heading out. read more
Went on Sept 29, 2024 for breakfast with my girlfriend from Madera, California I ate the chocolate chip pancakes and side order of bacon. My friend ate a single pancake with and egg on the side and fresh fruit and we both had coffee. The service is awesome on a busy Sunday morning the ambience is super chill she loved it here today. read more

Passing by after picking up good friend at the airport,on Nimitz, remember the bldg being the old Sam Choy's while living in Vegas. Nice modern interior, open Kitchen , seated & served by Victoria Very friendly & attentive server, brought us coffee. & waters. Ordered oxtail soup, Saimin with shrimp & scrambled eggs with sausage which came with a scoop of white rice. Food came out after a short period. Presentation was nice, soups hot temperature, & plate of eggs right.All food was to everyone's liking. Clean restrooms too! The location was of the restaurant was easy to find and parking was easy as well. Service was nice. It wasn't busy. It was kind of dark in there but it's like a diner eating. There were tables and bar seating. Food was typical local food. Nothing fancy. Drink was good but limited. After eating we ordered the bakery coco puff and chocolate puffs. It's a good default place to eat at if you can't decide. read more

Great pastries and cakes, the service is great too. We came in for some late night snacks after dinner. The coco puffs are their famous best sellers, and the rolled cakes are pretty tasty, too. We couldn't sit at a table or a booth because they were reserved for diners. But, we were able to sit at the kitchen facing counter. This was awesome watching the cooks and being able to see the plates of food go out to be served. Our waiter was a sweetheart, she smiled and didn't complain that we only ordered coffees to go with our sweets. Everything was fantastic and delicious. Came here after doing the Makapu'u lighthouse trail and wanted to try out some pastries. The wait to be seated was well over an hour but thankfully if you want just bakery items there's another line. There were a ton of people standing around the bakery as well but you pull a number and wait to be called. It was on 83 and I pulled ticket number 85 so the wait wasn't too bad. There was a ton to choose from and it all looked really good. We ended up going with 5 of the poi donuts, 2 butter rolls, a long John, a lilikoi malasada, a cranberry scone, 2 bacon maple donuts, a red velvet donut, and 2 coco puffs for $39. My neighbor has sworn by the poi donuts from here and they were good but I wish they had more flavors. But they were chewy and sweet between that and the cranberry scone those were my favorite picks. The scones had a good amount of cranberries, cream cheese and a icing on top. The butter rolls were good and I could see myself eating those. The donut and cupcake were just ok not memorable but not horrible. Now I've seen the coco puffs on TikTok and was so excited to try it. Personally I hated it- it was just too sweet and not what I expected. The king John too wasn't really something I'd order again but the coco puffs by far were my least favorite. Overall staff seemed overwhelmed by how busy it was but were still sweet, this is a popular location so be prepared to wait. Do I see a second visit- probably not. read more
Touristy place to visit. It's a chain that has several shops all over Oahu. Good pastries. Enjoyed what I got. Did like the different flavors. Very unique but common for Hawaii. Did come back several times to try different options. Pastries do d last overnight too which was a good surprise. Didn't get the chance to try actual sit in food. Service was quick. Delicious butter rolls and great loco moco. The loco moco had a good smokey flavor. The chicken cutlet was subpar. Not crispy at all and lacked flavor even drenched in the gravy. Very overpriced as well at over $18. I tried their karaage last time which was a bit better than the chicken cutlet but still not great. I haven't tried their other items but if I'm back I'll stick to the loco moco! read more
Been here a few times and enjoyed their Oxtail Soup and Breakfast Menu. My friend said he liked their Hot Cake Mix (pancake mix to cook-at-home) so I stopped in to get a quick gift. I've tried their famous Cocoa Puffs with Chantilly frosting, Mochi Donut, and Banana Muffins but it's all overly sweet so will have to skip those for a while. Last time I had Breakfast here with family visiting from Kona and the Banana pancakes were pretty good! Service is always nice and efficient. Mahalo! read more
Parking can be tight, so give yourself some time to find a spot or drop your party off to park. When you enter, you're greeted by the hostess/host and a lovely display of a la carte bakery items (but we'll get back to that). The dining room is usually packed with a variety of locals and tourists, which is a great sign! The service was prompt and very polite! The food came pretty quickly without compromising quality and flavor! After your amazing meal, swing back to the bakery and get your desserts to go! Their cream puffs are unsurpassed!! FYI. No military discount. But the prices are reasonable enough, you don't need it! read more

Liliha Bakery located on North Nimitz Highway next to Little joe's Steakhouse and also Hawaii's very own Restaurant ZIPPYS. This is the official 2nd location that opened up after the original location at LILIHA&KUAKINI area then there's also other location they opened up after this 2nd location like At Ala Moana shopping center and Also International market place in Waikiki and also the newly opened Pearl highlands location on the west side of Oahu. I myself barely come to this location just that cause at times PARKING can be a challenge that you might have to circle the building a few times till you find parking (that's the main reason I barely come to this location). But other then that this spot is NICE and has a BIG dining area and also I believe it has a Bar style seating area as well. They don't take RESERVATIONS so just to let y'all know. Food let's talk food then, my go to's are *Hamburger steak *Loco Moco with eggs (I prefer highly prefer Over easy) *their SMOKE PORK BELLY strips so good *Their country style omelette *Meat Loaf (not bad) *Oxtail soup (not sure if this location has it) but I get kind from the Ala Moana location. *Don't forget that GRILLED BUTTER ROLLS now, comes complimentary with a ordered meal (1 roll via two pieces) Ambiance - Not bad very well cleaned. Would I recommend this spot to people - YES YES YES of course so people from all over the world if you looking for a spot to eat while you pay a visit to Oahu don't forget to check out LILIHA BAKERY now. I just tried to make reservations at the Nimitz location, and they do NOT take reservations.
Do they serve, gluten-free pancakes, waffles, or gluten-free French toast?? also, does the bakery have any gluten-free pastries?
I've eaten at Liliha Bakery many times and really enjoy their food. However, I've never looked at the menu looking for gluten-free pancakes or pastries. There are many dishes that wouldn't gluten but it's eggs, rice, and meats. All good. Good luck
Are service animals allowed?
Yes real service animals are allowed. Be aware that Hawaii has strict laws against those that abuse the law. In other words if anyone other than the owner can pet the dog it's not a real service dog.
Do you folks make a rainbow cake or confetti type cake for kids?

Does this location serve breakfast all day?
Yes!!! We usually order breakfast during dinner time.
Are they reopen now? I stopped by a month ago. All locations are closed. Yes, I drive from Nimitz one to Honolulu one just for Poi donuts. But they were closed due to COVID 19. :(
Well, the Nimitz Liliha Bakery is going to re-opened this coming Friday -6/5- :)...Also, the Kuakini Liliha Bakery in Kalihi is now open, for take-out only for now, & so is the Bakery side is open :).... hope this helps!
Do they make kids birthday cake?
Yes, just have to submit a request ahead of time if not buying something already pre-made which it's nothing "kids" birthday available on my opinion
Do they take reservations for large parties?
No, when I had the large crowd. I had to call an hour before just to make sure we have room and for them to ready the tables. Around 40 people
Do they sell their Jelly? If so, how much and what size is the jar?
No, not anymore. I just went to purchase a jar and one of the employees says they discontinued selling them since Thanksgiving of last year :(
Will they ship donuts to the Mainland?
I actually asked them when I was in Hawaii if they shipped anywhere. They do not ship at all.
Do you do deliveries or orders in bulk and to be delivered for an event?
They unfortunately don't do deliveries.. but how great would that be!
I am looking for a place that is able to cater for my daughters birthday in October. I was wondering if you're able to do "pigs in a blanket" and if you're able to accommodate 75-80 pieces. And prices please?
