My meals here have always been comforting and delicious, especially when they begin with the warm butter rolls. While I haven't tried everything on the menu, I've rarely heard complaints regarding the food. Had my usual Kim Chee fried rice with scrambled egg and Portuguese sausage. The rice is fluffy and flavorful, not overly salty or greasy. Kim Chee could be spicier, but the taste was still wonderful. The portions have gotten smaller over the years, which is my only sadness. Used to love taking some home to enjoy. I like the lighting at the Nimitz location, and how it is not too bright in most of the dining areas. So this is supposed to be two cinnamon rolls that I ordered, but it looks like one and a half the way the second one is cut. I honestly feel like I missed out on the Center Part of the cinnamon roll which to me is the best part of the cinnamon roll. This is where the locals go to eat. The selection of food is great and it also tastes great. I love that there's a bakery that is part of the restaurant. It's nice to wander there to find things to buy while waiting for your dinner to show up. Liliha bakery has a track record of having great food and desserts. The location in Pearl Highlands is no different from the location on Nimitz or even the original shop in Kaimuki. Everything is delicious and the service is great. For visitors from the Mainland looking for something off the beaten track where the locals go, this is the place! Parking is available in front of the restaurant. Only strange thing is if you need to use the bathroom, one needs to enter Little Joe's Steakhouse and use their bathroom. Liliha Nimitz has been consistent on the quality of their breakfast and lunch food. Great place for pastries...got a variety of pastries and bake goods. They have the best Chantilly cake...loved that Chantilly frosting. I strongly recommend the Nimitz and Ala Moana location even the original Liliha Bakery location. Liliha has a great menu selection. Good here is excellent. This is a great spot to find breakfast food all day in addition to their full menu. I've been here many times, always a good place to relax and eat. This was some of the best fried chicken I have had anywhere. To the point where I was genuinely surprised by what I was tasting. Now, that's about where things go from good to not so great. We ordered a bunch of breakfast items in addition to the chicken for a group of 6 people. The food for 3 people came out and then they told us it would be another 10 minutes for the chicken. They didn't bring out any of the other food and forgot the sides for one person. So we sat there for 10 minutes and slowly our stuff came out. Food was fine, nothing special and nothing bad. You can eat at their restaurant and/or enjoy baked goods like cakes and pastries. I was surprised to see that they baked Ensaymada, which is one of my favorite Filipino breads. Foods: Smoked Pork Belly Loco Moco - It is very flavorful. Their gravy is very delicious. I've always wanted to try an authentic Loco Moco, and this dish did not disappoint. Fried Chicken - The highlight of our meal. It is crunchy and is tasty Oxtail Soup - The broth is very flavorful; however, I'm not fond of the cilantro. This reminded me of Pho soup. Hamburger Steak - The patties are well seasoned, but the gravy makes this entree more delicious. Smoked Pork Belly - This is similar to Smoked Belly loco moco but without the gravy. Smoking this dish adds more flavor. Ambiance: The restaurant is wide and open. The restaurant area seems tighter compared to the bakery area. Service: The staff were friendly and helpful. They will let you know immediately if there's an issue with the food. We went to Liliha Bakery twice during our 6-day Hawaii trip because we wanted to try more of the dishes on the menu. Nothing like home comfort food. Ordered the fried chicken and for an extra dollar, you can get the three piece chicken plate. Large battered and juicy. I ordered my plate with fried rice and mac potato salad. My lunch partner ordered the mahi mahi. Lightly battered and fried. A little dry. Looked like they split the fish filet in half. Of course they always bring their famous grilled butter rolls and their secret red jelly. I said secret because they never put what's in it on their jars. It had been awhile since I've been at this location. Since it was Saturday just after 1:00pm the place was packed, but we didn't have to wait long to be seated. Our server came by with menus, if we needed them, and iced water in these cute little silver cups. She asked if we wanted anything else to drink and I ordered iced coffee, which was good but a little watery. We all gave our server our orders and it didn't take long to receive our meals. I had the Kim Chi Fried Rice and Scrambled Eggs & Portuguese sausage. Just the right amount of heat in the Kim Chi taste blended well with the rice. One friend had the mushroom omelette, which she gobbled down in no time flat. My other friend had crispy bacon, eggs and home fries, which were disappointing because they were hard and dry. Ohhh! I was in Honolulu for a conference and we were trying to go to the original Liliha Bakery; there was no way we would be able to get a seat within an hour! So we decided to try to go to a different location for dinner. Thankfully, this location was available! I'm glad we were able to experience the bakery and the good food before we had to head home to California. Only one person in our group didn't have a Loco Moco dish. I loved the Pork Belly Loco Moco dish. It was sooo good. All the staff members were nice and professional. I enjoyed listening to the Ilokano spoken around me. Liliha is my favorite breakfast spot. We always come here with the family when we are back on the island visiting. I actually think i prefer liliha over cinnamons in kailua. The loco mocos here are perfectly cooked and prepared. They have delicious pancakes and waffles as well. And their bakery section at the front of the restaurant has sooo many yummy treats to take home! We always order a variety of their mochi doughnuts and some eclairs/cream puffs. I only like the mochi doughnuts from here. The service each time I have gone has been great. There was one time where we waited quite a long time for our food but the server acknowledged it and kept us updated. We got free drink re fills too. So far we have had great dining experiences here and we keep coming back because the food is great for breakfast or brunch and the service is super friendly :) They always take care of us here. read more

I don't know why the ratings for this one is so low this is a great location! I live near the first one, but my husband and I decided to go to this one to get a real table instead of sitting at a bar. Walking in, the lighting is low making it more comfortable and relaxing than the other locations. It's big with plenty of tables and a waitlist that was easy to sign in and find. Our waitress was nice. We could tell she had a lot of tables but she checked in at just the right times to bring more drinks and see how the food was. We decided to try new things today, and we were so satisfied and full! The eggs florentine is delicious, with the sauce on top it had such great flavor! My only note would be to add a little more sauce. My husband got the smoked pork belly and that was perfectly cooked. The meat was soft and flavorful and nice paired with the eggs and rice. Of course the blueberry muffin was soft, moist, and sweet enough to finish our meal. Can't forget about the grilled rolls - always the best reason to come to Liliha . I really don't know how I can begin to tell you how dissatisfied we were. My friends and I came to Liliha Bakery on Nimitz last month. We experienced the worst customer service, not from one employee but almost everyone we encountered that night. It was borderline xenophobic, racist or homophobic. We were 2 local guys, a black guy from the mainland and me (I don't look local enough). When we walked in, not knowing which entrance (after the main entrance) to go. One said Coffee Shop and the other one said Bakery. I remember I went to the one at Ala Moana Center, we could order from bakery and sat at the coffee shop. I asked the hostess about where to sit after we order stuff from the bakery. She didn't respond. Instead, she grabbed napkins and utensils with the worst attitude like she really hated to see us there. Was it because we were mahus? She walked so fast and threw the utensils on a table furthest from the entrance. We were all looking at each other, what just happened? I looked at a man standing by the cooking station, could be a supervisor or just a cook. He acted like we were crazy. If I was not craving for that goddamn chantilly cake from Liliha Bakery and stayed open late, I would have gone to Foodland. As we stood there for about a minute to decide, I walked over to bakery and ordered us some pastries worth about $40 and proceeded to sit at an open table. I remained calm and cool because I was only a visitor. While we were having a good time enjoying the pastries, a waitress walked to our table and said, "would you like something to drink?" and walked away immediately. What the F**k was that? Tell me if that was a robot just announced few words and rolled away. Was I dreaming? No, everyone in my party confirmed that was her saying in real life. You know, if she stayed a little longer, I would order something for everyone. I have never felt that much hostility by any restaurant employees in Honolulu before, not even the years I lived on the island. That was enough cultural shock for the night. So, we left. I would never set foot at this place again. But I would go to a different Liliha Bakery that would treat their customers with respect. read more

Went at 8am for bfast on a week day and no line! Plus there was parking! Got ham and sunnyside up eggs with fried rice. Very interesting that even the bfast plate comes with a side salad. And just glad they had ham since some places dont have this leaner bfast meat option anymore.
