Upon entering, I was immediately reminded of the newly remodeled interior of Viet Taste. Wondering if they are owned by the same folks? Well first let's say the atmosphere was nice. I liked the clean elegant feel. The menu in itself was simple. Soup, noodles or stir-fry. They had some apps also. We ordered Fried Shrimp & Fried Dumplings. Be aware the dumplings are made with pork, so hubby enjoyed those. The noodle bowl was huge, the taste was ok. Hubby had the chicken soup bowl, it was huge too but he said it lacked flavor. Service was fast and prompt. We probably won't return. read more

My husband and I have been coming here for the last couple of years. Every time we come the food is delicious and the service is wonderful. The iced Thai tea is the best in town. The spring rolls and egg rolls are both fantastic. The fried or steamed dumpling are also a solid choice. The pho is the BEST. We've tried probably all of the Vietnamese restaurants in town and nothing beats Lime's pho. The rare steak, and the chicken broth pho are both delicious. I ate the Beef Pho at lunch at Lime Vietnamese Restaurant. I asked if they had gluten free soy sauce as I have an gluten allergy. The serve said yes they do and brought a ramekin of soy sauce to me. I enjoyed my Pho & within 30 mins I after eating I was sick from gluten. The soy sauce was OBVIOUSLY not gluten free. DO NOT use their "Gluten Free Soy sauce" it is not gluten free. Their servers & staff do need training on allergies! I called the restuarant to talk to the manager and their response was "Oh sorry". Thanks to this servers error I will be sick for days! Up in this neck of the woods, Lime is the best spot to find pho and clay pots. Not only that, but they've got fantastic green milk tea, which is kinda like a matcha egg cream. Fantastic! I love Vietnamese pork, and Lime has some great meats. They've also got good tofu, which I get in the tofu clay pot. Lime Vietnamese restaurant presents a sedate, quiet, understated refuge from the blare & glare of the strip mall parking lot it shares on the southeast corner of Montgomery and Eubank. The neutral color palette and dark ceiling, coupled with minimal wall art and seating that seems unobtrusive, somehow exudes a simple elegance, without being obvious or pretentious about it. The waiter who seated me and the young lady who brought water with a lime slice were courteous & cordial, without indulging in effusive or pretentious theatrics. Very much in line with the subdued tenor of the decor I thought. From their menu well loaded with stir fry rice and noodles I chose pho, since it is the iconic dish for a Vietnamese restaurant and one that every such eatery seems to make. Thus a good litmus test for a Vietnamese restaurant. I chose to get it with rare steak slices, which the heat of the broth finishes cooking, and beef tendon. The bowl that arrived at the table looked bushel basket huge. It was a typically mammoth portion of pho. The rice noodles were cooked just right: a little firm but not stiff or crunchy. The steak slices were indeed sliced thin, as hoped for after dealing with over size slices elsewhere. The tendon chunks were bite size which helps when eating with chopsticks. The side plate of add-ons came well loaded with bean sprouts, Thai basil, cilantro, and jalapeno slices. I have to deduct a star because I found the broth in the pho lacked a strong robust flavor or complexity, two prerequisites for pho in my world. In pho, it's all about the broth. And this bowl fell short in that area to my tastes. Some redemption is gained from the fact that the price was just shy of $9 including tax. So the price isn't out of line for being an Eastside eatery and is, I think, in line with the quality of the food. Otherwise, I will gladly return to Lime Vietnamese Restaurant again. It would make a nice date venue I think. I will simply have to order a different type of dish, if I don't feel sporting enough to give the pho a second chance. read more

This is my second time coming here. The first time I came was when they very first opened and I didn't remember much of how it was. We drove from the north east heights down to Basil Leaf which unfortunately is closed for renovation. So we drove back up and saw Lime and decided to give it a shot. We ordered the egg rolls to begin with me I was expecting there to be 4 but there was only 3. And traditionally with egg rolls large leafy lettuce is given to roll the egg roll, but we were given a type of cabbage lettuce. I ordered Pho Tai Bo Vien (Pho with Rare Steak and Meatballs) which in my opinion was a bit bland and could've had more flavor to the broth. The amount of meat, meatballs, and noodles was perfect. My boyfriend ordered Bun with Ga and Tom (Noodle Bowl with Grilled Chicken and Shrimp) and I noticed that the shrimps were a good size and cooked thoroughly and the chicken was cut up into pieces unfortunately. After mixing the vegetables at the bottom and the sauce with the noodles and the rest of the bowl you didn't really see the chicken. Overall this place was very clean and very nice with decor. We started with the dumplings and they were deep fried and so yummy! Always a favorite appetizer of mine to order before my noodle soup. Next up was the rare steak noodle pho. My family's latest favorite in town for fresh and authentic Vietnamese food. My parents are super duper picky when it comes to Viet cuisine, since my mom cooks it at home daily, but Lime did not fail to impress them! We stopped by for dinner last night, which was my first visit there, and I loved everything! Our waitress was bilingual (English/Vietnamese), which made the process of ordering easier, since my dad doesn't speak fluent English. She was kind, and attentive, even though she was the only server waiting at least 5 or 6 other tables at once. Our table did not have issues waiting on our dishes or drinks, which was nice. I ordered the pho (beef noodle soup), hesitantly, since I had a previous favorite spot in the SE area of town, but my dad recommended it. I was surprised to have found myself converted! The bowl had GENEROUS portions of meat... and by that I mean that I kept finding more meat even underneath my pho noodles as I devoured everything. The broth was great, reminiscent of my mom's cooking at home, which was a plus. My boyfriend ordered the "country style steak" or com bo luc lac, which can be a misleading translation of the dish in English. Com = rice, bo = beef, and luc lac = shaking. It's actually more like cubed, stir-fried steak with vegetables and sauce. Typically, it's served with fried tomato-sauce rice, but this restaurant offers just plain fried rice or white. When I read "country style," it sounded more like the good ole country-fried steak at Cracker Barrel - but that would be weird at a Viet restaurant. Nonetheless, the dish was well-seasoned and tasty! Most Vietnamese restaurants in town (Pho Linh, etc), serve yummy fruit smoothies, which I always get. If you've never tried jackfruit, I recommend you try the smoothie here! It was SO good and the level of sweetness was perfect, so we just had to order another one. Definitely coming back soon! read more

Lime is an extremely exciting find! As a California native I love LOVE tasty fresh Vietnamese food. This new restaurant measures up. Since it is relatively new, this evening the service was a little bumpy however the staff balanced that by being kind, transparent and apologetic. We started with the chicken dumplings and veggie spring rolls. For our mains we both had Pho (veggie and steak) and split the tofu rice noodle stir-fry. Very excited that they had a veggie broth - often I can't find vegetarian Pho. I will definitely be back. Update! The small bumps in service last time were nonexistent this evening. Well, I am so pleasantly surprised to have found such great food so close to home. My hubs and I each had a different type of pho. I had the chicken with wontons and the other guy had traditional beef pho with steak. The flavors were SO good! I think there were probably waaaaay too many noodles, but who can really complain about too much food? My first time here for dine in and it was just ok, rather disappointing. The dumplings were Costco chicken potstickers- I instantly recognized the flavor profile. I ordered bun with barbecued pork and egg rolls. The bun was really lacking in flavor. There didn't seem to be any fish sauce in the dressing. No cucumbers or bean sprouts either, just a tiny bit of shredded lettuce, a few strips of julienned carrots and daikon. No peanuts topped the salad, so I asked and he brought some, advising they don't serve peanuts because of allergies, unless you ask for it. I don't expect restaurants to play doctor, just serve good food. It's a bit annoying to go to a Vietnamese restaurant and have to ask for peanuts when it's a customary ingredient. I appreciate that I can go in and eat just an appetizer and a cup of tea, a filling snack for about six bucks, and still be treated like an honored guest. I also dined here with my wife for a date and with a friend for a business lunch. Here are my favorites from the menu: Dum lin chien (Friend Dumplings): My perfect dumpling has a thin wrapper that is crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside, like the crust of a Neapolitan pizza, and these dumpling aspire to that perfection quite well. Bun Bo Hu (Spicy Lemongrass Soup): Like the familiar Pho, complete with various vegetation served on the side, but with a kick. Try it traditional style if you like bones in your soup! Com Bo luc lac (Country Style Steak): Stir friend steak and vegetables, this dish is a good choice for any less adventurous diners enjoying Vietnamese for the first time. Muc Rang Muoi (Salt and Pepper Squid): Amazing! It reminds me of friend calamari at nice Italian restaurants back east. The Squid is breaded just right, and the meat itself bursts juicy flavor with each bite. Tra Nog (Hot Tea): The serve my favorite brand of Jasmine tea at a reasonable price. I tried the lemongrass chicken and my girlfriend had the curry chicken plate. Both were very flavorful, with tender meat. We also tried the avocado smoothie and jackruit smoothie, which were a pleasant and refreshing treat. This place I had really high hopes for it because I've had amazing Vietnamese food before and the reviews looked good for this on yelp. Unfortunately, this was anything but that. The staff was friendly, however, the food was just plain garbage. We ordered the chicken pad thai, beef pad thai, and the eggrolls. The eggrolls and pad thai are by far the worst I've ever had, I've had better tasting frozen eggrolls. The inside of the eggroll was grey mush, what I would call cat food. I took one bite of the eggroll and spit it out. They messed up the order on the beef pad thai and gave us only chicken on both. Their noodles are like wide egg noodles not the thin noodles typically used in pad thai, which was not a deal breaker but everything else in there was so awful. The vegetables were very bland and slightly sour and the chicken was like rubber which I had to spit out as well. We both tried several bites but couldn't eat it. We thought about giving it away since we barely touched it, but it was so disgusting that we threw it all out, such a shame. Roughly $24 in the trash. Thought about taking it back and asking for a refund but it's not worth the hassle, we won't be going back to this restaurant. read more

This is definitely my favorite spot for Vietnamese food in Albuquerque. I generally get the Noodle bowl with beef and egg rolls but sometimes switch it up and get pork instead of the beef. Both are great and have the perfect amount of seasoning. Also, the pickled carrots are a nice touch. The food is priced well and is consistently good, tasting very fresh. The atmosphere is always pleasant and mostly quiet even with families and bigger groups being there. The only negative would be the parking lot which can be pretty crowded and cars often speed through. But overall, it's still seems worth the crowded parking lot and it's great for takeout also. read more
