Small tavern hidden that is on Main Street. Very lively atmosphere and friendly people. Good place to watch sports events and the food there-many options to choose from. Calling all St. Patrick's Day Enthusiasts! If you've never been to Limericks, now is the time to visit! Incredible beer selection and an even better happy hour menu! Buy one beer, get the second beer for $1? And we're talking craft beers, fellas, none of that bud light nonsense (unless that's your jam, in which case, more power to you). Main Street in Alhambra has always had a great variety of bars and beer selection, but Limericks is your tried-and-true gritty pub with sports on the Telly and cold brew on tap. Now that I've sold you on this place, definitely come check them out for great drinks and a good time. I will say that the food is just okay, and the street tacos might've given me some GI issues. Can't say I'm surprised, though. Most tables are for 4-person parties, so if you're coming in a larger group maybe check if they can push the tables together. As a fellow bartender of 10 years it's disappointing when you come in and ask for a simple request and don't get an answer. I come 9:30pm to see if the kitchen is still open cause i wanna see if i can still grab a bite. Simple request ya? Instead I have to wait for one of the bartenders (shaved sides of the head with a ponytail) to finally ask me what i need after 5 min of it not being that busy. If he's just slow then it's fine, not your pace. But after asking if the kitchen is closed instead of just letting me know know within seconds I gotta wait for another 5-7 min which is longer than you think of no answer and just walking right past me like I'm some ghost, I just left. If the place was slammed and everyone needs something then I get it, other than that I have to let my grievances be known so others don't have to experience this crap as well. read more

Limericks is a nice spot to meet up for a drink. Nice woodsy look and service was good. Bathrooms need to be cleaned more often and refurbished as the graffiti and carvings are not up to par with the rest of the decor. Food was good and they have nightly specials. Food was a bit pricey in my opinion but that is the sign of the times I guess. I had street tacos which were okay. My buddy loves the Limericks Burger with bleu cheese and bacon. I've been here several times. The great service has been consistent, I love their happy hour prices, and they have free parking in the back. Only one time ever I ordered a clam chowder, and it didn't taste flavorful-- i'm guessing they had a new cook and they forgot to put salt. But all the other times, the food has tasted really great! Good tacos, carne asada was tender a f flavorful. Chix-charrones: Fried chicken skin served with Tapatio lime aioli - more restaurants should do this! Brilliant and yummy!! Scotch Eggs: Soft boiled eggs wrapped in ground beef & panko. Served with Guinness mustard - egg wasn't as super gooey as I would have liked. We came in our Sunday night during football and the place was hopping! There was just one server for at least 7 tables and he apologized to us as soon as we sat down, but we found the service to only be moderately slow considering everything he was juggling. Poor guy was doing a great job. We started with happy hour wine, which as someone who indulges in happy hours quite frequently I'd say it wasn't great, but was drinkable. Then we shared the Irish nachos (just two of us) and it was pretty good! The menu said house made chips and as it was nachos I was expecting tortilla chips, but the potato chips were a pleasant surprise, though they made the dish itself richer. For two people this was able to be enough to fill us for dinner (with a quick stop for some dessert next door at 85C) Also parking is so easy, free structure right in the back! read more

So if you're coming to drink, you'll have lots of choices. As far as the food, I've only had appetizers, the chicharrones, onion rings, wings and sliders. Would definitely recommend the chicharrones. Let me tell you that they have the best mixed green salad, so good with blue cheese and walnuts and red onion, delicious, I guess you can add bacon or chicken, but I've only had it plain and it's so good, it's menacing at first all you see is a big pile on your plate, but trust me you'll finish it and it will feel like it was just enough. There isn't much of a night life in SGV, so it was nice to find this spot when my two other options were closed on a Monday. First of all, there's a parking structure in the same building so that's nice and convenient. Second, they have a really amazing HH menu even though I just missed it. I would definitely return for the HH. They have a little patio area in the front with string lights, which had a nice and chill vibe. Since I was only here for drinks, I only had a Moscow Mule ($12). We ordered two items off the HH menu; Irish nachos and angus sliders with Limerick's stout and whiskey sour. They ran out of the pretzels, which was what I really wanted. The Irish nachos were extremely salty and barely had any cheese. We left half uneaten. Angus sliders were thankfully tasty. It was juicy and tender, but had few hardened bits that I needed to spit out. Drinks were good. The whiskey sour was refreshing and gave me a nice lil buzz. My co-workers and I like to destress by trying various happy hour places around Alhambra, but the one we frequent the most is Limericks. It's usually not too busy during after-work hours, parking is convenient, and it's close by. Not only do they offer Happy Hour on weeknights, but they also have weekday specials. Their HH menu is fairly good for satisfying those munchies after a long day of work - there are beers and appetizers for a discounted price. I'm not sure if the cocktails are also discounted, but the marked price is fairly decent compared to other locations so I'm not complaining. I've tried several of their cocktails - Dolores ($8), Limericks Sour ($10), Royal Stewart ($8) - and all of them are fairly decent. I don't have an absolute favorite, but all of them have good flavor and I'm able to taste the alcohol in them (i.e. they're not too watered down). And you get a good amount in each cup. Some co-workers prefer beer and they do have an extensive list; I think there was one time that they were running a test run on IPAs so all they had on tap was discounted. As for the appetizers, I've tried the calamari, chix-charrones, wings (garlic parmesan, lemon pepper), sliders, and poutine. I don't think there's something on the menu that nobody enjoyed. Most of the food is fried, and as I like to think, all fried food is pretty tasty. If they can work on improving service just a bit, I think that would make this review to 5 stars. The place isn't too busy, but the server helping us on both occasions constantly forgot orders, took long before bringing us needed items (plates, water, utensils, etc), forgot to put in orders. Which wasn't too big a bother since we weren't in a rush, but I can't imagine how it would be if things were super busy. They also have trivia on Wednesdays, which is fun and brings a lively crowd. Decent place to come for happy hour. Located next to 85 Bakery. Lots of TVs around the restaurant. Good place to kill time if needed. read more

I used to frequent this part of Alhambra a lot more when they were barely building this spot. I finally dropped in on a quiet Sunday night. I liked the variety of beers and the good selection of food. We had some calamari and some wings while I went down the list of IPA's. While the service could have been a bit better it was a good visit overall. I have been coming to this place for a few years now. The staff is great and I will honestly say that I discovered it during a very tough (physically) time in my life, after getting very sick from the vaccine. I was suddenly on a very limited income and their daily specials literally saved my life! Monday Burger and a beer, Tuesday, Steak and a beer, Whiskey/Wing/Wine Wednesdays! I knew them all by heart and that was literally my diet 2020/2021. Very strange as I didn't even start drinking alcohol until a few years prior! But Limericks bar/staff and patrons (a group of regulars who literally all care about one another), became my "Cheers." Sal (Owner or Mgr. I'm not sure) may appear serious, but has a playful side. The regular bartenders at that time were Shane, Elisa, Shelby and Jesse and are all spirited and amazing in their own right. I came there, literally only drinking ONLY dirty martini's and an occassional Cider. Elisa changed that, she asked if I liked Gin and I said "no, I don't think so, never had it really." She said "I'm going to make you something I think you're going to love - it's called a Bee's Knee's. It has honey and gin, and egg white and some bitters. NEVER did I ever think I would like it but guess what!?? It's literally my FAVORITE DRINK ever and Limericks is the ONLY place I've ordered it where it is made the way it's supposed to be made! So absolutely delicious!! The best most sexy mouthful of liquid I've ever had!! Elisa & Shelby both make it to perfection!! I appreciate their super friendly/real vibe and outstanding customer service! Guys you all are great too, but these two are literally something special! Gotta love the consistency. Tonight was legend. My whole crew took heed to my word and showed up after close to this bar. Been here for specials and happy hours and it's worth it. I can't tell you how many times I've passed by this bar, but never went in because I was always under the impression it was more for drinking. Being a huge foodie- I always want to make sure to have good eats when I'm having a nice cold beer or cocktail. When I first tried this spot- they had open dining on their patio, it was quite a hot day so I appreciated that they had umbrellas. Our waitress recommended trying the Irish cold brew and boy was it satisfying! Deep, rich flavors of coffee with the Jameson whiskey and whipped cream on top! For food, we ordered: Calamari $16 Garlic parmesan wings $12 Carne asada fries $12 Clam chowder $12 Fish & chips $18 Bread pudding $7 Everything came out hot, fresh, and delicious- when I first caught a whiff of the garlic parmesan my mouth was already watering. Their clam chowder is definitely one of the best I've had in SGV- generous portions of clams and I loved that they included a few whole manila clams with their shell. After eating all the appetizers/main dishes- I wasn't sure if I could handle dessert, but I have a soft spot for bread pudding so why not?! Amazing place. It looks like a restaurant from the outside, but once you go in... it's amazing! It has television sets set up everywhere. Some of the television are even inside the booth so you get your own television if you sit there. Great way to watch sports. Love it during NFL and MLB season.
