My friends and I stumbled upon Limericks Tavern while visiting Alhambra on a Thursday night and wandered in. Seating was pretty quick, and so were our orders and drinks. I ordered a Paloma, and I thought it tasted alright. I felt it was off though, kinda like when something is missing. I couldn't tell if it was too watered down or not, but something felt off. That night, they had an open karaoke with a live DJ, and I thought it was an unexpected adventure. We sang quite a few songs, and they have an okay selection of American songs. The selections for songs in other languages were quite small despite the songs being queued up on a website server, which surprised me. I love Limericks! I'm obsessed with trying new happy hour spots, so I don't know how I overlooked Limericks in the past when I literally tried almost every other bar/restaurant on Main Street. Seriously, I didn't even know it existed until I walked right by it the other day, despite having been to restaurants right across the street or next door before. Limericks is an Irish pub style sports bar with THE BEST service in the game, and delicious food and cocktails. Our waitress was super friendly and went above and beyond, as I wanted to try a few cocktails I saw in the Yelp photos that were no longer on the current menu. I was able to order the Limericks Lemon Martini, one such off-menu drink, and it was both aesthetically pleasing and top-notch in taste. I also ordered the mac and cheese which was fire, and the bread pudding which was divine and an absolute-must. I love the beers on draft always nice and cold. The mix drinks are pretty good ! My favorite spot to come watch ufc events, the cover is $25 but they explain very well you just have to spend a minimum of $25 not $25 on top of your check, personally when I'm going to a bar I'm getting like 3 beers and that's passing the $25 so I'm always good. One of my go to bars I like to go in the SGV (there's not much to choose from) ~ Parking: Garage behind the pub Staff: Always nice, happy and fun. Never had any bad servers whenever I'm here. Food: Their kitchen closes early, so I never got to try any of their food items. T_T I usually come 1-2 hours prior to closing..I did get lucky one time, right before they closed to try the Irish Nachos, which were bomb. Will try their food one day ~ Drinks: Amazing ! After picking my wife from work,I decided ro take her to Limericks Tavern Irish Pub in Alhambra it's next door to 85 C Bakery cafe a very popular bakery in Alhambra. I park the car in the same structure were the 85C bakery cafe and Limericks Tavern. They we walk a very distances to the pub wow it was busy because it was a Friday night. The patio very full we put our name on the waiting list and see we get a table soon but the chances may be slim because they the pub was showing the NBA Finals. We know everyone is watching the game because the Lakers are in the finals and they are cheering the Lakers to win the NBA title. They one of the waiter told us they are putting tables outside of their patios and they we got a table it was nice of them. They the waiter took to the table and we were seated and he pass us the menu and we thank him. We were looking at menu and see what we like to get on the menu my wife like the pastrami sandwich,I know she was very hungry like a tiger and she like pastrami. For myself it was hard I like to get the clam chowder because I love it and the like chicken pesto sandwich a tough choice I decided to get the pesto chicken sandwich it was a good choice. We order our drinks my wife order a glass of Mascato she like to drink. I order a classic Irish drink a pint of Guinness I haven't have a Guinness for a long time. We waited for our food and watch the good and see the people watching the game and enjoying their food and drinks cheering the Lakers. They the waitress brought us our food wow our food looks ao good. My wife pastrami sandwich look mouthing watering good and my chicken pesto sandwich was looking different than other chicken pesto sandwich I have try in the past. The sandwich was a in square some thing different and also I notice the bread was toasted I like how they present the sandwich a new concept of the sandwich. I took a bit of the the sandwich great flavors and the pesto was good but the chicken was very tasty and the flavor of the pesto on the add more flavor in the chicken I really enjoy the sandwich. 1) Limerick's Burger The burger itself was so big!! It was so big, even our dad was only able to eat half! I personally loved the whiskey glaze in it and if you love bleu cheese then you definitely have to try this. I do recommend getting the burger cooked medium so it's not as dry! 2) Clam Chowder We love a thick clam chowder that has a good amount of clams. This had the perfect consistency and was perfectly creamy. There were so many clams and also bacon bits! 3) Pastrami Sandwich The pastrami meat itself was not dry or too fatty! The sandwich itself wasn't soggy like some sandwiches are. 4) Calamari Our favorite calamari but I do think this isn't a good dish to eat at home since it does get soggy and soft. The food is good here. They make everything from scratch but it doesn't take long. They have a nice outdoors seating for parties between 2-5 people. You can watch a game there because they put a tv outside as well. We came during a happy hour and got $5 margaritas. They also have some food on happy hour menu. Unfortunately they don't tell you that food on the happy hour menu is actually full price. I was surprised to see it on the check. Their explanation was that they are struggling during covid and keep food at full price even during happy hour. I am totally fine with that and prefer to pay full price to keep businesses running, but I think they should mention that beforehand otherwise you end up feeling lied to. read more

This place used to be good but the customer service has gone WAAAAY down. I come here a lot and in more recent occasions, bartenders are too busy making out and hanging out with their gf's while being clocked in and working. Waiter's are slow to even come by and sit us. We sit ourselves most of the time. I thought I was overreacting when they took their time coming to our table to ask for drinks but timed it and they took about 25-35mins to come by each time to order anything at all. They'll get us one drink and won't come around for another 30mins. One thing that hasn't changed is the food! Amazing, delicious food! Which is what I would give 5 stars. Waiters, bartenders? Calling all St. Patrick's Day Enthusiasts! If you've never been to Limericks, now is the time to visit! Incredible beer selection and an even better happy hour menu! Buy one beer, get the second beer for $1? And we're talking craft beers, fellas, none of that bud light nonsense (unless that's your jam, in which case, more power to you). Main Street in Alhambra has always had a great variety of bars and beer selection, but Limericks is your tried-and-true gritty pub with sports on the Telly and cold brew on tap. Now that I've sold you on this place, definitely come check them out for great drinks and a good time. I will say that the food is just okay, and the street tacos might've given me some GI issues. Can't say I'm surprised, though. Most tables are for 4-person parties, so if you're coming in a larger group maybe check if they can push the tables together. We came in our Sunday night during football and the place was hopping! There was just one server for at least 7 tables and he apologized to us as soon as we sat down, but we found the service to only be moderately slow considering everything he was juggling. Poor guy was doing a great job. We started with happy hour wine, which as someone who indulges in happy hours quite frequently I'd say it wasn't great, but was drinkable. Then we shared the Irish nachos (just two of us) and it was pretty good! The menu said house made chips and as it was nachos I was expecting tortilla chips, but the potato chips were a pleasant surprise, though they made the dish itself richer. So if you're coming to drink, you'll have lots of choices. As far as the food, I've only had appetizers, the chicharrones, onion rings, wings and sliders. Would definitely recommend the chicharrones. Let me tell you that they have the best mixed green salad, so good with blue cheese and walnuts and red onion, delicious, I guess you can add bacon or chicken, but I've only had it plain and it's so good, it's menacing at first all you see is a big pile on your plate, but trust me you'll finish it and it will feel like it was just enough. First of all, there's a parking structure in the same building so that's nice and convenient. Second, they have a really amazing HH menu even though I just missed it. I would definitely return for the HH. They have a little patio area in the front with string lights, which had a nice and chill vibe. Since I was only here for drinks, I only had a Moscow Mule ($12). We ordered two items off the HH menu; Irish nachos and angus sliders with Limerick's stout and whiskey sour. They ran out of the pretzels, which was what I really wanted. The Irish nachos were extremely salty and barely had any cheese. We left half uneaten. Angus sliders were thankfully tasty. My co-workers and I like to destress by trying various happy hour places around Alhambra, but the one we frequent the most is Limericks. It's usually not too busy during after-work hours, parking is convenient, and it's close by. Not only do they offer Happy Hour on weeknights, but they also have weekday specials. Their HH menu is fairly good for satisfying those munchies after a long day of work - there are beers and appetizers for a discounted price. I'm not sure if the cocktails are also discounted, but the marked price is fairly decent compared to other locations so I'm not complaining. I've tried several of their cocktails - Dolores ($8), Limericks Sour ($10), Royal Stewart ($8) - and all of them are fairly decent. I don't have an absolute favorite, but all of them have good flavor and I'm able to taste the alcohol in them (i.e. they're not too watered down). And you get a good amount in each cup. Some co-workers prefer beer and they do have an extensive list; I think there was one time that they were running a test run on IPAs so all they had on tap was discounted. As for the appetizers, I've tried the calamari, chix-charrones, wings (garlic parmesan, lemon pepper), sliders, and poutine. I don't think there's something on the menu that nobody enjoyed. Most of the food is fried, and as I like to think, all fried food is pretty tasty. If they can work on improving service just a bit, I think that would make this review to 5 stars. The place isn't too busy, but the server helping us on both occasions constantly forgot orders, took long before bringing us needed items (plates, water, utensils, etc), forgot to put in orders. Which wasn't too big a bother since we weren't in a rush, but I can't imagine how it would be if things were super busy. They also have trivia on Wednesdays, which is fun and brings a lively crowd. As a fellow bartender of 10 years it's disappointing when you come in and ask for a simple request and don't get an answer. I come 9:30pm to see if the kitchen is still open cause i wanna see if i can still grab a bite. Simple request ya? Instead I have to wait for one of the bartenders (shaved sides of the head with a ponytail) to finally ask me what i need after 5 min of it not being that busy. If he's just slow then it's fine, not your pace. But after asking if the kitchen is closed instead of just letting me know know within seconds I gotta wait for another 5-7 min which is longer than you think of no answer and just walking right past me like I'm some ghost, I just left. If the place was slammed and everyone needs something then I get it, other than that I have to let my grievances be known so others don't have to experience this crap as well. read more

We got seated outside and we were the only table there which was just perfect. There were 9 of us and we got to try many different dishes. I love the Irish Nachos and the fish and chips was just delicious. It was drizzling at one point but we didn't care. Thank God the rain came and went fast. We talked and drank ... Until they closed.
