    Ceviche trio

Visited Limon on a whim, last min get together with friends. We were able to lock in a last min reservation and were seated right away when we arrived. The service team were very attentive and very welcoming. We decided on the civiche trio, whole chicken, and Jealea (forgot to take a pic). Everything came out quick, freshly made, and delicious. This experience was an admirable one in comparison to the previous visits I've had a few years back, will definitely visit this location again!

High price points and limited menu, but a big space and very friendly service. This is a good option after a wellness visit at UCSF Burlingame.

I generally like Limon but we ordered takeout last night (6/4 evening) and I was extremely disappointed by how dry the thigh meat was in my Saltado de Pollo. Either that or they inexplicably used breast meat (and still dried it out). Check out the photo, the meat looks mummified. For a $28 (not including tax or tip) dish, what is that? Another issue, the Arroz con Mariscos (rice with shrimp) came with no rice. I am actually pretty blown away by how badly this takeout meal got botched. I almost never leave negative reviews but this was probably one of the actually bad meals I've received from a restaurant. I'm mad, chef.

Everything was sooo good. We ordered the staples, chicken, rice, yucca and each empanada. I hadn't been here in a long time and I'll be back sooner to try more dishes. We just missed happy hour, but thankfully we were able to get seated without a reservation.

Picked up my boyfriend from the airport in the evening so we decided to get dinner nearby. Didn't get a chance to go inside at all because we didn't want to wait for a seat on a Friday night and just sat outside instead. It was chilly that night but luckily we had a heat lamp right behind us. We ordered two beers and the Lomo Saltado to split. The flavors of the dish were delicious although the portion just doesn't seem to be worth the cost. When we finished and tried to get the bill, the main hostess completely ignored us and another server looked in every direction but at us despite my boyfriend having his arm up to try to get their attention. I get that Friday nights are busy, but service could be a bit more attentive.

I really enjoys eating here at limon. Very nice servers, with exceptional food recommendations. They act fast when providing our drinks and are careful to tell you the plates are extremely hot. I preferred the ribeye with garlic prawns and it was cooked to perfection! Very tender and lots of different spices. Not too fatty like other places you go to. It was a little pricey but for good reason! Great food presentation as well. The place is fancy but not SO fancy to gotta dress up to eat there. Overall We left very happy customers. They even sing people happy birthday with a cool sparkler to make them feel special! Definitely going back. And you must order the tres leches for dessert absolutely to die for!!!!

We celebrated our 26th anniversary at Limon and had such a great experience. I ordered the flat iron steak and my husband had the Lomo Saltado, both were amazing. Our server, Noelle, was incredibly attentive and friendly. She recommended the pisco sour and lychee sour, and they were delicious. Thank you, Noelle, for making our night feel special.

We ordered classic ceviche, empanadas (1 chicken and 1 beef) and yucca fries. The ceviche was the best of the 3 dishes, perfectly balanced flavors. The chicken empanadas had better flavor than the beef which were a bit bland) and the yucca fries needed salt. The server was good but some people who brought the food were rude. Overall it was a good experience.

Nice interior and pleasant service. I like most of what we ordered- octopus dish was tasty and tender, crispy pork came with a very palatable fried rice, paella had generous protein, beed rib looks dry but it was not, ceviche was refreshing and acted like a palate cleaner. The only thing I regret ordering was their Pollo Ala Brasa- the akin tasted good but the actual meat is very dry. I would go back but will not order the chicken.

Had a great lunch yesterday. We were welcomed right when we arrived and seated near the large window looking out to the street. Our server was very friendly and service was excellent. We started with their Passion Fruit Pisco Sour. Lucious frothy egg white foam topped a yummy passionfruit base. Next we had the Limon Ceviche plate, served with Taro chips, Chicken Empanadas, Camarones Crocantes and Truffle Mac and Cheese. Food was all delicious, well seasoned and flavorful.

I came here for dinner with my family. It's a bit overpriced for what you get, and the meat was on the dry side. Food is a little bit bland. The ceviche was the best part of the meal. Not the best overall, but still decent. Our server was very friendly too and kept checking in on us. It was such a busy night with lots of customers.

The food was like "bouquets" of seafood, the way they plattered it. I've had amazing seafood, but the seafood dishes we had at Limón were extraordinary! The color pops in the food presentation were just as vibrant as the Peruvian culture itself. Some of those dishes were enough for two. The combo appetizer alone could've been a meal. Plus their cocktails - whoa! Can I call them healthy? Ahaaaha, well their mocktails certainly were. We had wonderful service by informative waiters. The feel is what I'd call elegant casual. All the decor on their walls and tiling around their bar area are beautiful! Limón in Burlingame is well-located in a corner with entrances on both facing streets. It's right behind a parking lot and directly across additional parking closer to the water. A good amount of indoor and outdoor seating is accessible. This area is hoppin'! Surrounded by local specialty shops, more restaurants, and bakeries - anyone living in the neighboring residential streets are mighty lucky! My cousins wanted to treat me for a super duper belated. I think I'm lucky too. I am giddy over this dining experience!

    Ask the Community - Limon

Can the veggie options be made allium-free (no onion, no garlic)?

Whether or not veggie options can be made allium-free (no onion, no garlic) largely depends on the specific restaurant or the dish in question. Many restaurants are willing to accommodate dietary restrictions or preferences, including removing or…

Is there a public parking nearby?

There is a commuter train station by it so you might be able to park there otherwise I'm not quite sure

Do they still have happy hour?

Are there any gluten free options?

Their rotisserie chicken with rice should be gluten free! Just ask for no sauce. I would double check with the restaurant to make sure.

Why are they closed with plastic everywhere?

Which location is ideal for a party of 10? Do they all have 4% surcharge?

Do they take reservations? The phone number leads to an automated system that doesn't work when I press the keys they specify so I'm not sure how to reach them?

They do take reservations over the phone. There's also a waitlist for day of here on Yelp. I would try calling them again during non-busy hours (after lunch/before dinner) and try any of the automated key options that should immediately reach them…

Do you recommend making reservations or even accept reservations?

No, because they might just cancel your reservations last minute like they did for my family on Mother's Day.

Are you not on opentable any longer?

Hello, we are no longer on OpenTable. Thank you very much for your support.

Do they have a dessert menu?

Yes, they do - four deserts and few desert wines. Look under the menu photos on yelp - there are few pictures of a small desert menu. I am pretty sure it doesn't change much - it was the same few times I went.

Is the entire menu available to order for lunch? Or just the lunch specials? Thanks.

Our entire menu is available for lunch & dinner! We just have lunch specials that are available as well during lunch!

Does this location have a private room?

No! They just have open seating

Are walk ins welcome? Or do I need to make reservations?

    Yes, walk ins are welcome

Is there a kid's menu? If so, what are the offerings?

    No not a kids menu

Do you have to make a reservation?

Not generally. In their South Van Ness space they have a huge area downstairs with a whole other bar.

What is your phone number? I call what's provided and get a "disconnected" response

Hi Laura, Our phone is currently down but we are working to get it back up. Our number is 650.727 0050, so I'm sure you're dialing correctly. . Please let us know how we can…

Do they take lunch reservations on Saturdays?

    Yes.

What kind of credit cards do they accept?

    I paid with American Express.

Esp when I was able to make last minute rezzies (an hour prior) and they had wide availability. The indoor dining room was packed and about 90% of the ample outdoor seating was filled. The house music was bumpin' and with the purple lighting inside, the whole vibe reminded me of Fluid Lounge in the city (iykyk). Sister resto to Roma Antica, Bottega, 'Napizza, and The Rustic in the city and Capri Lasagneria in Burlingame, Mykonos has been on my list to go to since they opened in 2020. For Burlingame standards, I found the Greek + Med fare with a full bar, to be fairly priced. They do charge a 4% hospitality fee. F O O D * Complimentary Pita Yea, it's commercial but hey, it's free and it's served warm and toasty. * Saghanaki: Pan-fried Kefalotyri Cheese w/ lemon + oregano ($14) Flamed tableside, the saghanaki makes for a great TT/reel with cheese pulls but it was just meh. It was very salty and the cast iron pan wasn't hot so the cheese quickly cooled and hardened. * Octopus w/ Greek-inspired chickpea puree ($19) Sous-vide then finished on the grill, the octopus was tender but could have used more time on the grill for a hotter temp and deeper char. The bed of chickpea puree was dry and gritty. * Lamb Riblets w/ lemon + oregano ($17) A generous portion of meltingly tender lamb riblets (5-6 bones) but I wasn't a fan of the indistinguishable brown sauce it was finished with. * Braised Lamb Shank w/ orzo & myzithra cheese ($34) A hearty comfort dish perfect for sharing, the braised lamb shank was perfectly cooked...so rich, tender, and savory with a pleasant gamey flavor. I found the orzo too wet and salty esp with the olives. S E R V I C E Awesome hospitality and customer service - our server was so kind, gracious and attentive with the warm manager checking in with every table. Considering how packed they were, our entire order quickly arrived and we were done in 35 minutes. A M B I A N C E Looking for club vibes? Sit indoors. Want a quieter meal with people watching? Sit outside at either the parklet, sidewalk tables, or side patio. Overall, Mykonos knows how to do lamb right! I found the food to be more reliant on salt for my preference, as I enjoy more traditional seasoning with herbs, spices, garlic, lemon, etc. 3.5 stars rounded up for the great service.

This time, we were also allowed to sit in the restaurant area, which wasn't offered during my first visit and was a nice improvement. The bakery stands out for its unique pastries, such as the potato leek brioche, along with a selection of cookies and various types of croissants. The pastries are clearly popular and tend to sell out quickly--several customers mentioned that items they came for were already gone, even though they've experienced this on multiple visits. The pastries themselves are genuinely delicious and well worth trying. However, the coffee didn't quite match the same level. Both the drip coffee and latte were on the lighter side and tasted fairly average. Service is an area that could use improvement. We asked for our pastries to be warmed, but they were forgotten. We also requested our drinks to be served in house cups instead of to-go cups, and that was overlooked as well. While the staff was friendly, more attention to these details would greatly enhance the overall experience. Overall, it's a bakery with excellent and creative pastries, but consistency in service and stronger coffee would make it even better.

We ordered the bruschetta sampler ($24), choosing the mango, salmon, mushroom with prosciutto, and tomato mozzarella varieties. Surprisingly, they all tasted almost exactly the same. Nothing tasted fresh or vibrant. The bread was especially disappointing--bland, lacking texture, and seemingly devoid of flavor. The mango wasn't sweet, the tomatoes tasted like nothing, and even the mozzarella lacked freshness and character. The wine was equally underwhelming. My husband ordered the Tempranillo and I had the Albariño. Neither was enjoyable; both tasted harsh and overly alcoholic rather than balanced or flavorful. Even the presentation missed the mark. The glassware felt dated and unattractive, which only added to the overall feeling that the restaurant is past its prime. Unfortunately, this was not a memorable meal for the right reasons. My son was home visiting and one of his food requests was tapas, specifically Iberico ham. I think I had been here long ago when it was still in Menlo Park. Anyway let's get right to the food. My son and I had done a deep dive (not so his dad) and preplanned what we were most interested in. Drinks: El Martini , Old Fashioned, and Side Car, all between $17.25-18.75: 4*- all good, pretty much standard issue, STIFF PAELLA de MARISCOS (we 3 shared the small) $61.90 - saffron rice with prawns, lobster, cuttlefish, bay scallops, squid, baby octopus, sea scallops and clams: 3.5*. We thought it was delcious, especially the tender clams and cuttlefish. It was a little oily, but the disappointing part was almost no socarrat! boo! Txipirones en suTinta - squid stuffed with tomatoes & sausage, braised in wine and its ink. $22.90 - 4.5*: I didn't expect the whole thing to be entirely black. I liked it but a little too soupy. 100% Jamón Iberico de Bellota Black Label - country bread rubbed with tomato, topped with the iconic ham of the black hoofed Iberian pig. $32.80 - 5+*: OMG. every part so tasty, and the ham almost melts in your mouth alcauciles con champiñones - baby artichokes sautéed with chanterelle mushrooms, amontillado sherry and cured ham (opt.) $21.65- 4.5*: This was not at all attractive to look at. I needed some other color on the plate besides light brownish green. The taste was delicious, the best aspects of earthy mushrooms and sweet young artichokes. Pulpo a la Brasa - grilled octopus; bean and piquillo pepper salad with capers, basil and shallots. $29.85 - 5 *: I loved the octopus, although it could have benefitted from a little more char. The beans, however almost upstaged the pulpo. Absolutely wonderful. Vieiras con Espuma de Salmón - griddled Hokaido scallops on smoked salmon mousse toast. $25.70 - 3.5*: The scallops were perfectly cooked, but definitely over salted. The salmon "mousse" wasn't a mousse at all it was about the consistency of a thin sour cream, like crema, and only a small amount. I didn't note any smoked flavor. The service was fast, friendly and knowledgeable, except for the busser, who was pretty much silent and no smiles even when we tried to engage her, but maybe she didn't speak English. The dining room isn't very big and there was a large table of like 12 coworkers, one of whom spoke and laughed incredibly loudly, but that's not the restaurant's fault. Food: 34/40 Service: 17/20 Value: 16/20 Atm/Intangibles: 16/20 Overall: 83/100 As I knew it would be, it was expensive, and like others, I'm not sure I think the 22% compulsory service fee is fair. We ended up at about $380 including drinks, tax, and the service charge. The host/owner is charming.

Salmon is the best although sometimes it's pretty blackened. But that's my go to dish all the time…read more The salmon is nicely cooked, not overdone so you still see some light pink. The garlic sauce is really delicious. I spread that on everything like the pita bread. And the green salsa ties everything together. Thought it's pricey, it's good so it's definitely a treat. I usually order to go since the restaurant is always packed. Parking is very difficult and the lot is small. Service is always busy so expect to wait. Overall, it's yummy and definitely recommend.

We started by sharing the whole cauliflower drenched in lemon tahini dressing, the smoky baba ghannoush with fresh pita, and a couple of à la carte lamb chops. The cauliflower alone was seasoned like it was fighting for a spot in the starting lineup, and the lamb chops were incredibly juicy. For my main, I got the Double Kebab Plate with chicken and filet mignon, paired with rice, pita, garlic toum, hot sauce, house pickles, the Arabí salad, and French fries. The chicken was tender, but the filet mignon was ridiculously soft, and the garlic toum is legendary. The portion sizes are serious - you're definitely leaving with leftovers. Incredible flavor, great ambiance, and zero complaints. Mazra is easily entering the regular dinner rotation.

I ordered the tacos and they were the type of tacos when you see the price, you're like GYADAMN. But then when you take that first bite, you're like oh these are actually fire. Inside, with the white floor and black interior made this place feel hella fancy and we came in like super casual clothes lol. They got good food, drinks, and vibe. The happy hour menu was pretty awesome as well. If you aren't interested in food but looking for a place to get drinks, the cocktails here are also on point. South San Francisco is a stones throw from where we live and even though there are some solid casual spots, we don't find too many places in this area where you can get amazing food, craft cocktails, and this kind of ambiance. With that being said we were ecstatic to discover this hidden gem. It checks all the boxes!! We ordered the Caesar salad, pozole, burger & Fries, and beef tacos from the happy hour menu. Everything was so good and I am not just saying that! The Caesar salad came served with slices of avocado. Not traditional, but absolutely delicious and nicely dressed. The burger was beautiful and juicy and cooked to perfection. It came served with those french fries that have that extra layer of crispiness.on them. I call them 'next level fries' because that's what they are. My favorite thing, hands down, were the tacos. Oh my God... the tacos!! There are a lot of great Taquerias in the Bay Area but this place can contend. I'm serious. Perfect crispy tacos that came served with this beautiful salsa verde. Truthfully we ordered so much food but the tacos were so good we got another order of them. I ordered a Paloma and it was the perfect drink to go with my tacos. This was our first and only time eating here, but this will definitely be a regular spot for us. I hope moving forward this place stays as wonderful as our experience was tonight. It's such a joy to have an experience like this that doesn't require us driving to San Mateo or San Francisco. It's about time we had places like this in this area. The staff that helped us was also wonderful. The young lady who served us was friendly and helpful with the menu, the bussers were great and there was another lady who checked in on us and helped us throughout the meal. Great service, great staff, terrific food. Please keep up the good work.
