I received fillings from one of the dentist, not Dr. Sandhu, and I had sensitivity after-the-fact. X-rays were taken. I came in once to have them adjusted (they had me bite paper and shaped the fillings). Again, X-rays were taken. I was told if I had an issue again to come back and they could fix them further. I still had issues, so I came in today (now my third time for these fillings alone in less than a year) and informed Dr. Sandhu that I have sensitivity pain when I eat chips, strawberries (any fruit with seeds) or even chew gum. X-rays for a third time in less than a year, again, were taken. I informed her that the pain was on the top right and top left (the location of the fillings). After looking at the X-rays, she said that everything looked fine and that some sensitivity is normal. Sorry, but no... I am in my 30's I have never had issues eating chips or chewing gum. My entire visit for the first reconditioning was about 10 minutes. The second trip was no different. I was in the uber to this place longer than I was at their office. I am visiting your office for a third time because of a filling I received. Why waste my time and yours to have me travel there only to tell me everything looks fine. I cannot shake the feeling that she had me come all the way down there for the sole purpose of billing my insurance for the near identical X-rays as the last one. If this is the quality of service I am going to get to have you fix the fillings you installed "for free", then just charge me. I would happily pay more money and have you fix them right without the rudeness... Why offer free filing reconditioning if your objective is to rush us in and out with as little effort expelled as possible. Disappointed. read more

This dental group charged ahead of time for a procedure that I did not have. and are refusing to give me back my money after they canceled an appointment with me. They prefer that I get on a credit plan which I cannot do. They are trying to rip me off and get more money from me. read more

My Dentist was great and my dental procedures went smoothly. I was even one of the first patients they had in after quarantine was partially lifted in May 2020. My complaint lies with the front desk and communication in regards to payment. They have you fill out a form when you start as a patient in regards to upfront payments, it is filled out on a laminate sheet with a marker so it can be scanned and reused (yay sustainability). I am sure they gave me a printed physical copy of what I signed, but I probably threw it out putting my trust in them (as many and most do, I was unable to find an emailed copy which would make more sense). I don't remember what the specifics are completely but they do say that payment for your portion of the procedure is due after completion of your procedure on that day. I do remember that. For my procedure at the end of May, I was told at least three different dates with non-corresponding days (ex. I was told my procedure was scheduled for Tuesday, May 29th at 12noon. May 29th was a Friday.) It took over three back and forth emails to receive an actual date/day in 2020 to confirm the time for my procedure. On the day of my procedure their payment processing system was down and could not process payments when I was finished. I understand, POS systems can be flooky. I said please send me the invoice and I will pay when I receive it. My appointment was at 2pm and I received the invoice and paid it at 7:48pm the same day. One week later, on June 1st, I received a second invoice for the portion of my services that were not covered by my insurance. No big deal, I got paid in the next few days and would take care of it then. I received one more "reminder" email on June 2nd and didn't think much of it with my intention to pay in being only a day or two away. I was charged on the 5th of July with no advanced notice, and no communication stating "we have not heard from you and per our policy..." I contacted the office and asked why I was charged and the response was that they expect payment on the date of the service, since it was almost two weeks after the procedure they charged me. I PAID for my initial portion of the procedure, I have the email confirmation and bank statement indicating it was paid the same day. Though it may have been outlined in your laminate sheet that patients fill out with an erasable marker and a copy is given (which most probably throw out and forget about), more than one email out reach before charging them is usually a more personable and courteous approach. Communication is their weak point and having front desk staff that can read a calendar properly and schedule appointments on actual date/days would be beneficial. Though the Dr. I worked with was very pleasant and personable, I will not be returning to Lincoln Dental Group. read more

I've been seeing Dr. Sandhu for about 7 years now... I found her through zocdoc because she offered great flexible hours. Every time she finds a cavity *frowns*, I always insist that she take care of it because of her speed and diligence. I prefer to deal with Dr. Sandhu because of her expertise and bedside manner. Dr. Jasmine and the staff at Lincoln Dental Group are amazing! First off, I called their office at 12:45 in the afternoon asking if they had any openings. Jessica, Patient Care Specialist, said they had a 1 o'clock and could take me immediately so I rushed in. As soon as I walked in, they all were more than willing to help and talk me through everything - I hate when you walk in a place and the staff makes it seem as though you are supposed to make the first move as opposed to greeting you. Sarah did a great job keeping me comfortable and in-the-know throughout the checkup and cleaning. Dr. Jasmine referred me to a root canal specialist who completed an amazing job the same day and I was able to schedule a followup appt with Lincoln Dental Group within 1 week. Jessica was great at researching and explaining what my insurance would cover vs. what I would have to pay out of pocket. Of course, nobody likes to pay anything out of pocket but I think it is totally worth it due to the quality of the work and the polite and courteous staff. I will recommend Lincoln Dental Group to all of my family and friends. Keep up the wonderful work! read more

I originally went to Dr. Jasmine because my cousin is a dental assistant there, but continue to come back because of the quality service. I went in for a root canal today; it wasn't my first, but I was still nervous. Dr. Jasmine brings in a specialist for harder-to-reach root canals, and he did a marvelous job. He reassured me that he was quite experienced and good at his job, and then proved it to me. He explained in easy terms what he did, and also let me know what to expect after the procedure, so that I know what is normal and what I should contact my dentist about. Her staff, outside of my cousin, is wonderful; her assistant even let me borrow her (cleaned!) earphones so that it could make me less nervous. Her receptionist is also friendly and informative. I highly recommend this dental office. read more

The staff helped me understand my Wageworks/Flexiable Spending Plan offered at my work and were able to help me set up a plan of action to take care of the more pressing problems first basically having my benefits, benefit me! As for the staff they are extremely personable with topics of conversation ranging from messenger bags to John Mayer. Maybe that's your scene... Who cares it's worth it for the entertainment value. You can have your teeth worked on anywhere why not go somewhere you enjoy the staff and great hours! read more

I went here a long time ago so I feel a little silly even posting, but frankly it still bothers me. I went to receive a routine cleaning, which was fine. I was told I had a cavity, as well as another tooth that was catching food and likely to cause problems later. They estimated that the corrective measure would only be about $100 more (I believe) since it was next to the tooth that had a cavity. I was right out of college and didn't have a lot of money but agreed. The final bill ended up being $400 more than I was quoted, mostly do to that 'elective' correction. When I was on the phone with the administrative woman, she told me it was because I had very bad insurance and that I really should switch. I was still on my parent's insurance at the time, and in the past they had dealt with the billings through my family dentist, so I didn't really how all of that worked and believed her. I called my mom, and she said we had NEVER had this sort of issue, between any of the 6 members of my family. I switched dentists and, again, never paid so much for a filling ever again. Not even close. So, this was a while ago but what sparked me to review was a few things. First, about a year later at my new dentist, who I really like, told me that the one filling was "very very weird" and they had "no idea what the dentist was trying to do." And they corrected it, for under $100 with my insurance. Second, I realize now that they took advantage of me - I probably should have questioned the fact that I suddenly had a tooth that needed to be fixed for no reason despite regular dentist visits my whole life. And perhaps even pushed back on a $500 bill for an elective procedure that should have been ~$100. But I trusted the dentist, which was a big mistake for someone on a tight budget. read more

My first (and hopefully not last) experience with Lincoln Dental was absolutely wonderful. In particular, I received some of the best patient service I've ever experienced from Dr. Coakley. I came in for a routine cleaning after skipping the dentist for 2 years. I was checked in quickly and was in the chair in a matter of minutes (thanks to ZocDoc, which pulled all my insurance info so I didn't have to). My cleaning was extremely thorough, with Dr. Coakley walking me through any spots she thought might be areas of concern. I did end up with one cavity (which I had suspected after 10+ years of no decay) which I had filled a few days later. The original cleaning took about an hour and the filling took around 40 minutes. I am one of those people who always incurs the rare side effect of any procedure. I had been experiencing some intense stiffness and soreness in my jaw where I had the numbing agent injected for my filling. I called the office and left a message,and not an hour later Dr. Coakley called me to see how I was and to recommend a course of treatment, and follow up if necessary Dr. Coakley is extremely professional, curteous and has excellent chair-side manner. I would recommend her to anyone. read more

After having to go to the "dentist" more than I would like in the last month or so...there is no other dental office I would want to spend my time at then with the ladies of Lincoln Dental Group. My first review was back in the beginning of 2014 and now almost 4 years later, I am still a loyal patient that has referred several friends. Recently, I had the dreaded cavities (yes plural! Damn Starbucks!) and had to get a veneer updated because of this as well. Dr. Sandhu does not only do a fabulous job with standard dental work but I frequently use her for Cosmetic Dentistry as well. I use Zoom teeth whitening and have received several veneers. What I love about Dr. Sandhu is she will give it to me straight and will tell me when I am being silly and do not need to get anything done. She works on my smile from all angles! In the past 4 years she also as an eye for recruiting talented staff! I always feel like family when I go in and the "dentist chair" is not where you want to have the "cold doctor office" feel. :-) April at the front desk is always so friendly and accommodating and will stay on top of anything you need from a follow-up appointment to billing questions. Malika, is the best! You think you are having a "dental hygienist" clean your teeth and next thing you know she is making your temporary veneer and fixing your OCD issues around your teeth. She is a dental assistant who is a step away from a dentist in my opinion! She is such an asset, not just for her fabulous dental work along with Dr. Sandhu, but her constant smile and amazing ability to deal with difficulty patients like me that demand more than they probably should! I've given a lot of thought as to whether I'd write this review. I don't take leaving critical reviews on Yelp lightly, but after I went to my new dentist today, I feel I need to speak out on my experience at Lincoln Dental Group. Like other reviewers here, I bought one of those online deals for a zoom teeth whitening to get my teeth ready for my wedding. When I was scheduling my appointment, the receptionist insisted I would need an exam before they would honor my coupon. While this wasn't stated on the coupon, I agreed since it had been a year since my last cleaning. When I went in for my exam, they insisted on taking a full set of x-rays. Later I learned that there are options of taking just 4 but the techs at Lincoln Dental Group never told me this. While they were taking my x-rays, they kept running into computer issues and apologized because it was taking so long. Dr. Sandhu then came in to tell me I have 6 cavities. Up to this point, I have had one cavity as an adult. I should have walked away at that moment, but I thought, she is a doctor and she was so insistent and convincing that I had to get the issue resolved. I went back the following week to get my cavities filled. She proceeded to shoot my gums with lidocaine. I've had cavities filled as a kid and once as an adult and never remember needing lidocaine for it. On top of that, I wasn't getting numb fast enough, so she shot me up with more lidocaine. I know lidociane is a numbing agent, but I literally hurt so much from being so numb. I cried for hours after my visit from being in so much pain. On top of filling my cavities, she was going to repair a small chip I have on one of my teeth. She filled that up and then less than two weeks later, her "fix" chipped off and my chip came back. After getting all my "cavities" filled, I paid what the office thought I owed outside of insurance at that visit. Even though I have insurance, they insisted on charging me then and there. So of course, I get a letter from Blue Cross that I over paid. I waited to see if anyone from Lincoln Dental Group would contact me about it, and of course they didn't. So I had to request a refund from them. What really set the wheels going for me to write this review is that I recently had my new dentist's office contact Lincoln Dental Group to get my x-rays from February 2012. I'm currently pregnant and can't get a new set of x-rays taken. I get a call from Kim at Lincoln Dental Group that they charge $25 to transfer over x-rays. Not only did I pay for these x-rays, but they are charging me to email it to my new dentist. I went in to my appointment today and saw what was sent over and you could BARELY see what was going on. The x-rays were tiny and such poor quality and shot at different exposures. They were truly useless. Since my visit to Lincoln Dental Group, I did some internet research and spoke to a few dentists who have confirmed that cavities are subjective. Not every dentist would approach a "cavity situation" the same way. Many dentists don't rely heavily on x-rays like Dr. Sandhu. They take a more clinical approach of considering other factors such as whether there is any tooth pain or decay, beyond just staining. In sum, I would not recommend Lincoln Dental Group. I feel Dr. Sandhu is aggressive in her approach. Frankly, she was not very personable either. Her staff is nice and her office is clean. read more

I've struggled with issues with my teeth for almost 20 years and it was finally time for me to do something about it. In the past I've seen dentists who rush you in and out without really getting anything done. My first appointment with Dr. Sandhu was less than 6 weeks ago and I've already had a cleaning and crowns on my two front teeth. Dr. Sandhu wants the best for her patients and she doesn't mess around. She is a wonderful dentist and I'll be a patient at her office forever. In addition, her staff is phenomenal, Kim in particular. Kim is kind and thorough, who ensures that you're comfortable and that you understand everything about your procedure as well as the costs. In August I was living in Lincoln Park and I needed to find a dentist for a basic cleaning and check-up. After checking with my insurance and looking at some reviews, I found Lincoln Dental Group, which was close to my apartment. Everything started out great. The staff was helpful for the most part (though I haven't always been able to reach somebody or get somebody to call me back). The cleaning and follow-up fillings (quite a few, I was shocked to discover, despite a pretty good dental regimen) were also done quickly and professionally. The problem I have is the aftermath and the bill. LPDG provided me with an estimate of costs for my dental work, based directly on my insurance. You would think that, although there may be a slight adjustment to the cost or that the estimate wouldn't be perfect, that it would be in the ball park...especially since they would have estimates from my insurance, right? Initially I was told I would have to pay about $180 after insurance for my dental work, which was fine with me. After the work, I was told that the cost would actually be about $440! And no wonder -- LPDG charges astronomically high rates (about $250-300 per filling) and the insurance company obviously isn't going to pay that bloated price...leaving me to pay the rest. Recently, I requested to have my records shipped to another dentist. I understand that printing out and mailing dental records has a cost and that doctors want to be reimbursed, but LPDG wanted to charge me $25 to email digital records. So, if you want great and professional service, I would recommend LPDG...just don't expect their insurance estimate to be accurate and be ready to pay big bucks for their handiwork. read more

I bought a You Swoop for Lincoln Dental Group for a cleaning and X-rays. They were going to charge me $1000 for scaling (when they shoot high pressure water to deep clean your teeth.) This is something that comes standard with most cleanings. I felt like they were trying to take advantage of me, because I don't have dental care and they thought I wouldn't know better. read more

Dr. Jasmine is wonderful - very caring - going above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable and happy. Horrible experience. The dentist was incredibly rude and talking about her weekend plans with her assistant and seemingly not paying attention to the service she was providing me with. I called 3 times regarding an outstanding bill for which I never received a call back. They had overcharged me, and even after they received payment for my insurance and it took over a month to receive payment back. Definitely would not recommend. read more

I'll start with a couple positives and say that Kim at the front desk is very helpful and the office is clean. In my first appointment with Dr. Sandhu, she recommended a deep cleaning in all four quadrants, as well as identifying three cavities. I am a twice a day brusher and daily flosser with no previous dental problems. The total cost of the procedures she recommended was going to run me upwards of $900 out-of-pocket, so I decided to get a second opinion. When going to the second dentist, he recommended a regular cleaning and did not find any cavities. I am glad that I got a second opinion because I think that this was more about money than it was about what I REALLY needed. read more

I have been to this dental office 4 times now and each time I have had a bad experience. 1st - they harass you about your appointment. I probably get 20 confirmations via email, text and voicemails reminding me about my appointment. They also let me know that if I was going to cancel 48 hours before they would charge me $50. They even say that if you are a few minutes late to your appointment they will charge you the $50. I mean...we live in Chicago! Clearly with public transit and traffic people are going to be late and they should not be penalized. 2nd - They make you pay your co-pay/bill BEFORE you even get anything done. I always thought you paid for service AFTERWARDS? I would literally walk into the office and they would say "hi! how are you paying for this?" 3rd- They refused to do a regular cleaning because I needed a "deep-clean". They said it would take too long to do at that time, so I had to schedule another appointment. When I went back, it literally took 30-40 minutes for the deep clean. Clearly, they just didn't feel like doing it that day and wanted a reason for me to come back - because each time they get to bill the insurance and charge me the co-pay! 4th- They try to upsell you on all their products and are extremely pushy about buying them. They actually added the Sonicare Toothbush ($115) to my bill without even asking me if I wanted it! They also just casually included $25 mouthwash to my bill without asking. 5th - And after all of this, I never once saw the dentist! I only saw the hygienist and the receptionist. Bottom line, this place cares much more about money than the well-being of your dental health, so I will be finding a new dentist. Do not waste your time here. read more

I went to Lincoln Park Dental Group bc I bought a Zoom Whitening Groupon. I was advised to get a cleaning/xrays before I had whitening done. After my cleaning and xrays, I was told I had 12 cavities! They also initially told me that they accept my insurance and when I looked at the bill, they clearly didnt as they wanted 2300$ for my teeth! Are you insane?! I made an appointment with my previous dentist and he redid the xray and told me I only had 3 cavities. 12 cavities to 3 cavities?! are you kidding me?! Also, I kept trying to get a hold of the office, which sends you to voicemail, to get a copy of my xrays and no one ever returned my phone call. Extremely displeased and would never ever recommend this dental group to anyone. read more

I'm not really sure why this place has such great reviews. I went in here for an exam, x-rays and a cleaning because I had a deal from KGB (I think, I use too many deals to keep track which company it's from). The office is clean and pleasant, but Dr. Sandhu is somewhat brisk and I thought she was rough around my gums. Also, I don't think her methods are the most accurate. She told me I had SIX cavities! Excuse me?! After this visit, I went to see my family dentist back in the suburbs and was reassured this number was COMPLETELY inaccurate. How can you be so wrong about that many teeth?! This office also does not print any x-ray film, they are all digital, so if you need the x-rays, don't count on other offices being able to read or interpret them off of a piece of paper. I would not go back here or trust this dentist. read more

The office staff and Dr Sandu were nice and the office was clean and convenient etc. However, as another reviewer stated, I DID feel that they were trying to "up sell" me on cleaning proudcts/ pricey toothpaste etc. When she mentioned that I had 3 cavities I was a bit surprised so I went to another dentist for a second opinion. As another Yelper found, my second opinion showed NO evidence of cavities! They are fine for cleaning but I would be VERY wary of having this office do anything else! Dr. Sandhu and her staff are absolutely amazing! The office is beautiful and extremely inviting! I have seen Dr. Sandhu and her staff for cleanings, cavity fillings, and invisalign. Dr. Jasmine is the gentlest dentist I have ever been to. When she filled my cavities, it did not hurt at all! I am currently finishing my last tray for my invisalign treatment, and I am truly amazed at how straight my teeth are and how simple the process was. The first appointment consisted of making impressions for the trays-- I was done within 15 minutes! Then once the trays came in, I only needed to go back a few times to make sure that my teeth were adjusting properly to the trays. So with only a few quick visits and absolutely no pain, I have perfectly straight teeth. I highly recommend Dr. Sandhu for all of your dental needs! read more

I have really good teeth and haven't had a cavity or anything wrong for decades. I've been going here for a year and a half for regular cleanings and a checkup and the technician they have cleaning teeth is absolutely wonderful, and Dr. Sandu seems fine also. I made an appointment to have my teeth cleaned (normal 6 month cleaning). They called a couple days before and asked if my insurance had changed and I told them I am now self-pay. I figured I would pay about $100. I showed up, and the receptionist said a cleaning xrays and exam would be $250 (I forgot the exact number but it was slightly more than $250). I said I just want my teeth cleaned. The receptionist then told me that the doctor prefers to have all three treatments twice a year, "for my own good." I mentioned I had them checked by the doctor at my last visit 6 months ago, and I again said I just wanted them cleaned. I'm skipping a few steps but she told me they couldn't clean my teeth unless I got xrays and that was the law. I don't think that's right because they used to clean my teeth with no xrays, as did my dentist before this one, but I don't know for sure. 10 years ago we got xrays every few years unless we had an issue so it can't be that foolhardy. I'm finding a new dentist. read more

Best dentist experience ever. I'm probably the worst kind of patient because I'm so uncomfortable having things drilled in my mouth and this was the quickest, most painless experience I've ever had. A lot of dentists have a tendency to be rushed and not really concerned about interacting with the patient because they think all they need to do is the "hard work" of fillings, etc. This was not the case here at all and Dr. Sandhu was outstanding and patient and I couldn't have asked for anything more.
