My roof was at its expiration date and I pushed off getting a new one until it developed a leak. Luckily, I called Lindholm Roofing and they were able to give me an estimate the very next day and were able to schedule the job within two weeks after looking for, finding, and repairing the leak! The workers were thorough and quick and I could not be more satisfied with the work and the price. Not to demean others, but working with a family owned business is the best path to take in my opinion. I called Lindholm roofing to come check on my roof gutters and soffit job they had replaced a few years ago, the representative Milton that came out was very rude and did not address my issues. He took one look and said my gutters needed cleaning and left without addressing my other issues, I was not attempting to get them to clean my gutters just to fix them where they were still leaking after several years. I used this company several times in the past but they have gone downhill. Hired to fix a roof leak in a clay tile roof and patch mortar. After two visits the roof still leaks and several areas still have missing mortar. In one section they actually used tar on a tile roof to try and fix the leak! They refused to send up one of their drones to check the work. Refused to let me speak to ownership and only allowed me to speak to a manager. After a phone conversation with the manager, I never heard back for over a month until I was emailed the invoice with $500 taken off but no message or explanation at all. BAIT AND SWITCH - DO NOT HIRE We were completely taken advantage of by Dennis, Rose and Lindholm Roofing. They are accomplished professionals at the fine art of the bait and switch. Dennis took advantage of me from the Estimate, until I received the final invoice and threats from Rose to pay unapproved costs. Allegedly, Dennis went out to my house and inspected the roof for a small roof leak in the rear upstairs bedroom. He insisted that we needed a new roof, maybe a couple of sheets of plywood where the roof leak occurred. We sensed that something was wrong, but they were family owned company in the neighborhood with a long history proudly displayed on their website "since 1949" . We made the tragic mistake of believing him. Within 20 minutes of the crew tearing off the roof Dennis called me to tell me the entire roof needed new plywood decking, $6,000 worth of plywood and labor. With rain in the forecast later in the week and my roof now exposed, I forced to make a decision on the spot to increase the cost of the original $10,000 job by 60%. Later that morning, while finishing the roof tear off , the crew ripped the bricks out of my chimney and sent bricks and debris down the chimney damaging my furnace. That's when Dennis called for the second time, requesting another $4,000 up charge to repair the bricks that were damaged during the tear off process. (A chimney that was rebuilt 5 years ago and never had any issues with). At this point, we realized that we WERE being scammed. We called a reputable mason and had the repairs and was able to have the repairs needed, due to the Lindholm crews aggressive tear off, done for $400. Finally, we receive an invoice with a charge of $6,500 for the plywood (not $6,000 were quoted), a $1,400 charge for additional roofing removal which was never communicated to me and should have been included in the original quote if someone actually inspected the roof. Then to add further insult to injury, there is a $240 charge for metal edge flashing included on the invoice. It is also worth noting that upon contesting the invoice they immediately offered Financing. A huge red flag to me that this company is in the business of preying on their customers. The lesson, the fact that a company who has been in the business roofing for almost 80 years does not mean they are reputable. I'm utterly speechless. We hired Lindholm for a daylong job on the recommendation of a neighbor. They did terrific work and were a pleasure to work with--came out quickly for an estimate, did the job quickly and at a time that worked for us, and were communicative throughout. They also came out a second time (after the initial estimate and before the work began) to discuss a few options. The invoice amount was exactly the same as the estimate. The estimate clearly stated that there would be additional costs if additional work was needed (for example, if wood under the shingles had rotted); it was not, but if it had been, extra charges would not have been a surprise. This is exactly the procedure one should expect in a situation where it is not possible to know before work begins whether additional work will be required. read more

I have only rarely found a company with such a commitment to diligent review and informed suggestions for important projects. Lindholm was very good on some some subtle upper roof fascia repairs, and took quite a bit time on multiple inspections prior to the final job. Used Lindholm to do a full tear off in 2020, paid over $23K however there is a leak around the roof hatch which has been as issue since the roof was replaced 3 years ago during very heavy rains, last time was July 4 of 2023. I have called project manager Joe Ponder on this issue many times with no reply from him regarding this issue. Before Thanksgiving 2023 I called the office and told them about this, they promised to contact me. Its December 16, 2023 and I am still waiting for them to respond if the leak was addressed. Had a total roof install six years ago. Besides using ripped down plywood to replace damaged sheathing and charging me for solid wood planks, the roof has always looked like waves on the ocean. Has only gotten worse over the past years. Shingles lifting also. A very small roof, but the crew had to work past sundown to finish. Total incompetence! We had used them in 2001 for a new roof and were pleased with the services then so we called them this year when we needed some gutters replaced. Their bid was very reasonable and Tom Lindholm was very good communicating and following up when coming out for the estimate. Before they started the work the installers went over the estimate with us to make sure what they were planning to do was what we had agreed to. The installers were very polite and thorough. All of the people in the office were very nice as well. It was a smaller job so we did not have to put any money down and paid upon completion. Project manager Joe emailed at the end of the 2 days and offered 3 available days in the upcoming week, I responded and chose the earliest of the 3. Project manager responded back the next day and said that a different date actually worked better for him and asked me to confirm that instead, which I said was fine. Lindholm did a lot of work on my chinmey and roof replacing things. They replaced 8 feet of chimney and did a good job. There was a problem with the subcontractor mason they hired but they made the situation right and fair after we had discussions with the owners. Not many businesses would negotiate and make a situation right when one of their subcontractors screwed up but Lindholm did and good for them. When they are on their game, they do excellent work. They resolved the issues with professionalism which I cannot say is true for many companies. read more

We called to request an estimate to tear off and replace our roof (despite the fact a friend tried to warn me off this company). Lindholm told us we would receive a return call in a day or two to schedule a time to meet. Chris called as promised and a day and general time frame was agreed upon. He showed up on time and spent quite a bit of time with us discussing the project. So far so good. Before leaving Chris promised a proposal in 1-2 days. It never showed up. After 5 days we called Chris and left a message inquiring about the proposal. He never called back. I'd stay away from this outfit. Too many bad reviews and customer service seems lacking. read more

I had them replace my roof and siding back in 2012. They were a great company to work with back then. I'm not sure what happened since but I called them on Friday, January 20th for a repair. It took until Tuesday, January 24th for someone to call me back. When I spoke to the rep named Tom, we discussed urgency but since it a small spot and wasn't leaking we set up to come out on that Friday, January 27th between 12-12:30pm. He never showed or called. I called him at 1pm - went to voicemail. I left him a message. I called the company at 3pm and they had no idea where he was and said that if I didn't hear from him by Monday I should call back. I called Monday, only to get their answering service, left a message. On Tuesday, still no call back. I called again spoke with the owner Mike, I voiced my aggravation he said he would call me back. He didn't. I did get a call back from the Rep Tom shortly after speaking with and he was full of excuses. The main one was he didn't have his phone on Friday and he was stuck in Wisconsin. I understand the weather is a factor with roofing but not to communicate and leave your customer waiting not to mention having to follow up with your company is horrible customer service. I'll find another company that knows how to treat & communicate with their customers. read more

Our condo has had problems with squirrels getting into the attic. We called several roofers but because we don't have a flat roof, most did not have ladders tall enough to find and repair the holes. We did get three quotes for the work and we selected Lindholm because they seemed to be the most thorough in identifying the animals' entry points. In May 2023 they did the work. When the workers started I explicitly pointed out the two places I believed they were getting in based on the places I heard scratching. The squirrels abandon the attic in the summer because it's too hot, so we only verified all of the holes were patched once the cold weather struck. They did not patch all of the holes, the first cold day the squirrels were back in the attic. I climbed into the attic on a sunny day and with the lights off I identified two obvious holes. I contacted Lindholm to come back out and make the repairs. They said they would charge $175 per hour per worker. We wrote into the contract that they could have 2 workers for 2 hours - and anything beyond that would require additional approval. They send photos of the damage and the repaired work. The quality of the work looks good. My issue, and why we (the entire condo voted on giving a poor review) is because 1) the damage is so obvious, it is aggravating that this was not identified and fixed in May. We selected them because they appeared to be thorough in identifying the holes, and the fact that this whole was exactly where I pointed to them where I believed there was an entry point, but was missed seems negligent. 2) they billed us for more than 2 workers for 2 hours, but never contacted me or the other condo member whose contact info had been provided for the additional approval. They had told me to write it into the contract, yet they did not comply with it. Then had the nerve when I contested the bill to tell me we were going to be charged the 3% late fee if we didn't pay within the 30 days, despite the fact that they were slow to respond to my concerns. Knock on wood the squirrels are out for good, but I am not happy with them trying to gas light me and say the damage was the fault of the roofers that did the original work, never acknowledging my actual concerns. read more

I am purchasing a home from my neighbor. We did home inspection last week. The inspector told us there is black, mold-like substance on the plywood in the attic and there is excessive moisture in the attic and the ridge vent is not properly installed. The seller called the Lindholm Roofing since the roof was done in 2015 and it is still under warranty. The PM named Chuck came out this Wednesday. He said the mold -like substance is just dirt and there is nothing wrong with the ventilation for the attic and the 3/4" slot opened for the ridge vent is properly for the job. I asked him to put his comments in writing and he refused.He was very rude to me. He said, " You don't need to buy this house if you worry about the mold issue in the attic. I am not talking to you since you are not the owner." I talked to different roofer afterwards and showed them the pictures for the open slot. The roofer told me that the previous installer only cut one side of the plywood and didn't cut the other side of the plywood that's why the opening is only 3/4" . The proper side of the slot opened for the ridge vent should be at least 2"-3" for the ventilation. read more

Terrible company, Stay away! "Fixed" our roof 2 years ago and still have major issues. (none of these issues occurred before they did work) Had them do our roof and caused so much damage to the interior of the condos, it was incredible. We signed a contract for for $10,000 - $15,000 and they were trying to show us an updated bill for $25,000 for work that wasn't in the contract! They threw excess rocks and dust down our air ventilation system. They broke off our cable protector on the side of the building when they were throwing bricks from the roof. We called many time and asked them to fix these issues but they were rude and would not do what they said. read more

I hired them a few years ago to replace my garage roof. I explained that I wanted advance notice of when they were coming, so that I could cover stuff up with drop cloths. After first dumping all the bundles of heavy shingles right in my front yard with no notice, they then showed up unannounced and began tearing the old garage roof off. This was of course early in the morning, and by the time the noise woke me up and I got out the back door, there was black roofing soot all over everything in my garage. They also charged $500 to check the roof on the house and make needed repairs. They took the $500, but just dabbed a little tar here and there. I realize they've been around a long time, but it seems they're not really tuned in to the new consumer reality: if I'm paying a bundle for a new roof, is it too much to ask that a few common business courtesies be extended? Like the kind of advance notice I requested? The roof has held up (so far) and it's been about five years, so at least they're not incompetent. read more

I think this the main office so my review is here. I called the 800 number at 8:30am and was told someone would call me back. I got a return call at 11:30am and set appointment for 1:00pm, same day. Met salesman at 1 and went through proposal with him tear off main roof and reroof garage. He said he'd get back to me with quote. All good!! I had to e-mail him 2 days later to see if he was going to send quote out. He later e-mailed me a quote. Great price!! But, and hears why 3 stars besides I had to e-mail him to get quote. In his quote it was stated (we often use a magnetic rake to help us remove loose nails from the lawn). It was also stated the flashing around chimney would be secured with high quality polyurethane caulk (if possible). The fact I had to follow up with him and those two statements in his quote are why I took my business elsewhere. read more

Did a good job. Matched the house roof color as we discussed. Brownie points for completing the job a week ahead of planned. They could of cleaned up a little better but overall, not too bad. My only complaint is that the workers were supposed to install two vents in the garage roof and they didn't. We had to call them and tell them it wasn't done. So a week later someone had to come back and fix it. I question how that can be done considering the layers that go down while installing a roof. The crew arrived per schedule, set up their equipment, and completed the job within a very short time, after which they left no trace of debris on the premises. Although she and I have vastly different outlooks regarding this situation, I do realize that during this time there was a high demand for Lindholm services in a very unusual situation where time was of the essence. I am quite sure that pressure and anxiety played a part in both parties. Although I was offered a partial refund, I did not accept it as it is satisfaction enough for me, knowing that Lindholm will review their practices regarding hourly billing going forward to prevent these types of misunderstandings in the future. I am adding to my review that that in terms of the actual work performed, the crew did a good job. For that reason I am changing to 3 stars. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ On 2/18/21 I contacted Lindholm for snow removal on my garage and 2 small overhang roofs. I was put in touch with Joe, who was assigned to my request. Joe asked me a few questions regarding the snow removal request and said that due to them being extremely busy it could take a couple of days. He then told me that the cost would be $175.00 per man per hour. On 2/21/21 Patty from Lindholm called at 8:05 and said that someone would be out that morning. Four guys arrived around 8:50 am. I started my phone stopwatch once they were in the backyard. They were here for about 50 minutes. On 2/23/21 I received an invoice for $1750.00 listing: Snow removal/2 HR/5 Men/10 man hours! I immediately emailed Joe that a significant mistake was made with my invoice. I emailed Joe that there were 4 men for less than one hour. I also said that I was outside with them almost the entire time they were here and that they arrived around 8:50 and were gone by 9:40. When I did not receive a response from Joe I called the office on 2/25/21 and was transferred to Joe's cell phone. In speaking to Joe he said he had not seen my email yet so I explained the mistake in the invoice. Joe said he would check into it and get back to me. When I didn't hear anything by 3/2/21 I sent a follow up email to Joe and copied Rose. On 3/4/21 someone from the office called (I believe it was Rose) and told me that there had been 5 guys, but one arrived late. I reiterated to her that I was outside when the men were here and I never saw a fifth man. She said that they adjusted the 5th guy from the bill leaving a balance of $1400.00. When I asked about being charged for 2 hours as opposed to one hour and reminded her that they did not touch the main roof, she became considerably terse and borderline rude and pretty much ended the conversation. I will have to pay the amount listed on the invoice because I did not have anything in writing and it is my word against Lindholm. I don't mind paying for services rendered, but there is still a discrepancy in the length of time they were doing the job. Although the number of men listed as being here was adjusted, the amount of time that is listed on the invoice is inaccurate and a suspect way to do business. After this exchange, I checked Lindholm's reviews. Although they do have some good reviews, there are some comments concerning errors in hours billed, among other things. I am not sure why a company that has been in business 72 years does not have customers acknowledge start and end times on jobs that are billed hourly; and no signature required at the beginning or end of the job where any notes could be written down. Seems like you would want to protect the business and give customers piece of mind that they are not being overcharged and overbilled. Having this type of acknowledgement would go a long way to avoid customer dissatisfaction. I would recommend that anyone using Lindholm get written acknowledgement of begin and end times for anything that will be billed hourly. Lindholm Roofing performed a completed tear off of my roof. After the new roof was installed, after the first rain, I had dozens of leaks all over my Living Room. I contacted Ryan Lindholm to discuss and provided pictures of the damage to my home from a shoddy roof installation. Ryan sent a roofer out to review. This man didn't have a clue what he was doing, sealed the channel in my siding shut with caulk, which you cannot do, didn't even begin to fix the multitude of leaks in my home. I contacted Ryan again, stating he needed to send someone out who knew what they were doing. Second roofer came out and was totally amazed that I had dozens of areas that were leaking. I also still have areas in my living room that continue to leak, I got very tired of being given a hard time when I contacted Lindholm regarding these. My latest issue is with an area that was also part of the complete tear off. I have water streaming in like a faucet, it has caused very devastating damage to my ceiling in one of my bedrooms. I contacted Lindholm twice, sent emails showing pictures of the damage and they refuse to follow up. Suffice it to say you get what you pay for, and Lindholm has a very low quality of service. If you're smart you'll find a better roofing company for your needs. You should also contact an attorney and your Insurance Company to make them aware of most importantly the problem, but the issue the roofing company is providing. 50/50 at best..they did install gutters but lots of loose ends..they replaced some facia boards on rake edge did a slap crap job..instead of notching out a soffit brace they just slapped a board right over it leaving a 3/4 gap in 4 or 5 of those..when I asked them about it was told that the painter was responsible "just needs some caulk" so that had to be re worked.. Also had them install gutter guards..when I asked them to maybe install backsplash guards on the inside corners was told you "dont need them" now the water just cascades over it.which is also getting reworked ..they made their own gutter guard covers for the end caps..water just drops off the edge another thing that had to be reworked..when asked about that was told you if there's a problem with a third party product (gutter guard) that we install its not our responsibility ..the performance of others products ..and that gutter guards can be overwhelmed didnt we discuss that ??? .."its nothing we did on installation not our fault" ..made a call was told send a video which I did no response..also had some billing issues that took a week to straighten out a $500 oversight somethings had to be dropped due to unavailability..I went with Lindholm figuring using a experienced company things would go smoother..the only thing experienced was their endless supply of excuses and stories seems they had a answer for anything..pretty much "not our fault" Would I use again..nope..just to many games and stories and marginal work read more

I engaged Lindholm Roofing for 9 windows to be replaced. My salesman, Mike Huston was excellent. He explained everything fully, (process, products) to make sure I understood. He quoted me quickly and I was very happy - very competitive pricing. The measure took place and the employee was on time, courteous, and quick. The installers then came as scheduled. While it took a bit longer than they expected, it was still quicker than I thought it would take. They were respectful to my property, were able to replace all windows without me needing repairs on the inside of my home - which was a great surprise! A follow up appointment by Mike was most welcome. We went over all the work, which was excellent! I was very happy with my experience, and will use them again. read more
