Thoroughly impressed with my iced latte! My taste buds were happy dancing. The flavors/notes of the espresso are really yummy. I can't wait to go back!
This is not my first time going to this coffee shop -- their coffee is excellent. However, I met my girlfriend this morning for coffee and had a very unpleasant experience. I ordered a simple Americano, asked for some oat milk, and waited and waited and waited. When my coffee was finally ready, I picked up the cup and it was lukewarm, so I asked the barista to steam the Americano. She said sure and, with a snooty attitude, told me to ask for a Cortado next time so she could charge me more. I asked what the difference was, and while she explained, she proceeded to pour a tiny bit of steamed oat milk on top. My coffee continued to be lukewarm, and for $6.75 -- by the way, why is an Americano $6.75? For that price, I could have gone anywhere for a cup of coffee without the snooty attitude. I'm done. There are dozens of amazing coffee spots in San Francisco.
Small storefront not too much bigger than their Mission location. There's some outdoor patio seating which is nice, although not nearly enough seating for more than several people. Service was pretty quick for how many orders they were handling at a time. We got a cortado to share. Hard to judge the espresso alone since there was oat milk, but overall pretty solid cortado. Microfoam was nice and silky. Pricing comparable to other shops in SF at over $6 for a cortado (before tip and tax), but doesn't make it any easier to swallow. Not the best cup I've had, but better than other cafes in the Mission Bay/Portrero area IMO.
I've never been here before, but it's right down the street from where I'm staying. I usually go to Farley's a couple of blocks away, but I decided to give this place a try since it's a local neighborhood spot. It was about 12:45 p.m. when I went in--fairly quiet with just a few customers. The space is clean and very simplistic, with no indoor seating. There are only a few benches outside, so if it's raining, you won't have a place to sit. I ordered an iced Americano with a splash of milk, and they offered honey or sugar cane as sweeteners (I usually bring my own Stevia). The drink came in what looked like a medium size, comparable to national coffee chains, and cost a little over six dollars--which isn't bad for the area. The flavor was excellent: smooth, not burnt, and nicely balanced. It's a great place to stop for a quick espresso or afternoon coffee. Parking is fairly easy in this neighborhood--just keep an eye on the signs, since there's a two-hour limit on weekdays. On Saturdays, parking is free. Overall, Linea Coffee Roasting has good vibes, solid coffee, and a convenient location surrounded by other small shops and restaurants. Definitely worth a visit if you're nearby.
I think my coffee budget takes up ~30% of my eating out budget and even tho Philz takes the top spots (mmmm fresh chai), Linea and Spro are a very close second. I'm a sucker for a good latte with pretty latte art and this is one of my top spots. I am usually there close to 7am so there's hardly a line, service is quick being in and out ~5min. As for the ambiance, I like the industrial feel, it's just somewhat cold inside because of all the concrete and open space. I also love that they carry Neighbor Bakehouse pastries so I don't need to walk far down 3rd street to get my fix-- they serve a wide variety of pastries such as the everything croissant, pandan muffin, ginger pull apart and honey financier (my hubs' fav). It does cost a pretty penny which is why I only have it maybe once or twice a month at most. The quality is there, but it definitely is a treat whenever I visit.
Decided to stop here for some coffee while we waited for our table at Plow, which is only a few min walk away! The store smells so good with their fresh roasted coffee beans! They have such a large variety of roasted beans. ~the drink~ - Salted maple latte ($8.50): An iced latte topped with whipped cream, maple syrup, and malden salt! Love that the iced latte part is not too sweet since the whipped cream topping is sweet! I thought this drink would be overwhelmingly sweet, but it really wasn't! I would still consider a latte on the sweeter side, but I think it's a nice treat! The salt pairs super well with the whipped cream and sweetness of the maple syrup. ~overall~ This coffee shop is super clean and friendly! They also have some really nice benches on the outside to enjoy your coffee! I would say their prices are relatively reasonable. They seem to be using quality ingredients, so I think their prices are justified.
Linea made me start loving the taste of coffee. I had always found coffee to be bitter and sour, but I realized that they can be so smooth especially if you order the latte! Now I am very much a cappuccino person, but you can't go wrong with anything! Not a lot of seating outside and there's no indoor seating. I would grab a coffee with a friend and walk around the neighborhood! Staff is always so nice and even though there's usually a line, it goes by quite fast
Came here with some friends on a Saturday afternoon! Good: - Fast service! The coffee was ready almost instantaneously - Golden milk espresso latte was really good - good kick with the turmeric too. Pretty sweet too and it masked the coffee taste - Nice staff and the place is super cute inside - good ambiance Bad: - The price is pretty high - $10 for an oat milk coffee is crazy Overall a nice place to go with friends
Located in Potrero Hill, this café features an on-site roastery. There was a short line in the morning, but it didn't take long to order and receive my drink. I've been wanting to try their Salted Maple Latte ($8.00 + 1% Restore CA Non-Taxable Fee), and I ordered the hot version. +Drinkable temperature: Hot, but doesn't burn your mouth/tongue +Whipped cream was light and fluffy. -Maldon salt overpowered the maple syrup: Leaned salty -Espresso was weak: Considering they source and roast their beans, this was a disappointment. Side notes: 1.) There's outdoor bench seating, but to-go may be the best option if it's gloomy or windy. 2.) Self-serve water cups 3.) I'd recommend paying w/card b/c they might not have change for cash. 4.) Not sure what the "Restore CA Non-Taxable Fee" is, but this is the 1st time I've seen it. *Verdict: I'm glad I finally tried this spot, but considering the price and taste I don't think I'll return.
Linea is amazing, even though it's our "neighborhood" shop in Potrero hill it really shines as some of the best coffee in the city. If it were out of the way we would still be going! The design is what I would call industrial chic, and you can get a glimpse of their roasting and shipping operations in the back of the warehouse like space. No seating inside but there is a nice parklet for when weather allows. Our favorite thing about the coffee is how well it performs and tastes on our home espresso machine-- after trying several different brands, Linea really stood out and has become our coffee of choice. It's pricy but absolutely worth it to feel like a barista at home before work.

Delicious salted maple latte! Got it with oat milk and it was perfectly frothed. I also got the Arnold Palmer vegan donut and it was amazing. It was light and fluffy and so enjoyable. Would absolutely get again read more

First and Last time here. I ordered a matcha latte here for $7.25 plus tip and received the worst prepared matcha I have ever had. Improperly prepared, clumpy. All it takes is a proper whisk, and a little attention to detail. I was shocked they served it to me. Please do not serve matcha if you are not going to prepare it properly for the people paying for it. read more

My friend brought me here for some good coffee. I LOVE that they roast their own beans. You can taste it in the beverages. If you enjoy flavored coffee this place is not for hou because their only flavors are sugar, honey and simple syrup. Their vanilla is made in house which I love. If you like the taste of good expresso it would be a win. No need for flavors go disguise bad beans here. One other possible negative is that they only offer one size but it's the normal size of a cup of coffee. read more

Needing a pick-me-up after hiking uphill from the Muni stop, the brightly colored Linea Coffee Roasters sign was a welcome sight. Upon entering the cafe, I was greeted by the aroma of freshly-roasted coffee beans. The cafe itself is quite small; there is an order counter and a coffee bar, and the only seating options are a few benches outside. The menu was taped to the cash register, so I just ordered my go-to (an oat milk latte); however, it would have been helpful to place the menu in a more visible location so customers can see the options and prices. My latte was smooth, creamy, and subtly sweet, so I was satisfied with my selection. While Linea is a bit removed from where I frequently spend time in SF, I'm glad that I discovered such a neat coffee shop for the next time I'm in the neighborhood. read more
Cute place! Decided to get some coffee before work and explore an area I don't normally drive through. This place had plenty of parking surrounding it. Cute to go experience, nice workers and strong coffee! Pastries were so yummy too! Definitely a must try if you're in the area. read more
Cute industrial coffee shop - no indoor seating but steps outdoor to hang out (probably wouldn't recommend a long coffee date if you wanted to sit). Friendly service. Latte with almond milk was $7.83 (only one size). Smooth light coffee taste. No complaints just coffee is getting so expensive read more
My niece brought me a cup of their latte a couple weeks ago and it was just delish. That cup would've ruined it for me to ever return to Peet's or Starbucks. Hubby and I were in the area so we popped in for a non dairy mocha for him $8 and latte for me. They were pretty expensive for a cup of coffee. The latte I had this time didn't taste as good as the one before. The place is clean and staff is friendly as they greet you when you enter. There is a big roaster inside and packs of single origin coffee you can buy. The parklet outside is great for people to sit and enjoy their coffee. read more

Went here through recommendation from a friend and it's in such a cute part of Potrero! Coffee (4/5): Got an iced latte with oat milk and simple syrup and it was a solid latte. I liked how the cashier asked how much syrup I wanted in my latte before making my drink, most places won't do that! Service/Ambiance (4/5): Didnt stick around to drink my coffee at the shop but it looked nice to sip on coffee in their outdoor patio. Staff seemed friendly but I didn't interact with them much. Super cute and casual coffee shop in Mission Bay! We walked here on a Sunday morning around 10a and although it was busy, the line moved pretty quick. Cons: *No seatings inside. A few metal benches are outside but couldn't use them since they were wet. *Doesn't offer any fancy drinks *Doesn't have an oven so pastries can't be warmed up Pros: *Quick and friendly service *Offers a variety of pastries *Coffee beans are half off as of now lol :) read more

This is a great spot to visit for good coffee, good pastries, and good service. I never got around to asking what beans are used for their cold brew, but it's likely a light/medium roast. They do fill the cup with quite a bit of ice so be sure to ask for light ice if you don't wanted your cold brew watered down! The shrub soda is an drink that I've never seen anywhere other than Linea, but it's basically a fancy (and probably healthier) version of Italian soda (without cream ofc). The flavors in the menu don't always reflect what is in stock, but the baristas have always given me a run down of what they have at that time. The shrub soda is a refreshing carbonated drink and most of the flavors are fruits like citrus and apricot. There is also some component of a vinegar(?) in the drink, so it does need to be well mixed prior to enjoying. This is also a good location to get pastries from neighbor bakehouse if you don't want to wake up at 7AM. They carry a few items from the bakery, including the popularly everything croissant. They also dynamo donuts, thought I haven't had the chance to try them yet. Overall, I've always had a great experience with the coffee, people, and food here. Despite the occasional line, the service is quick and friendly, so I wouldn't even consider the brief wait an inconvenience. read more

What do you do when you want pastries by Neighborhood Bakeshop is closed? Go to Linea Caffe, which sources their pastries from there! They have an everything croissant which is the perfect savory breakfast item to pair with coffee or any of their drinks. I ordered the matcha latte, which was nicely creamy but didn't have as strong of a matcha flavor as compared to what you'd get from a boba shop or Matcha Cafe Maiko, but the quality of the matcha was decent. A friend of mine tried their vinegar drink, one of their landmark drinks, but it... requires an acquired taste to fully appreciate it. Unfortunately they don't have any indoor seating, only a small parklet outside with benches. However, the line goes out the store on some weekends. read more

Summary: Solid (non-sour!) coffee drinks Details: * Linea's probably our second favorite coffee shop in the city, after Telescope, both as cafes that serve up coffee that isn't overwhelmingly sour/fruity/acidic like many of the other cafes here tend towards * While we enjoyed the actual coffee flavors, we found their cortados a bit too strong, and the lattes a bit too light (with the milk flavor somewhat overwhelming the coffee notes), though their cappuccinos on a second visit were a nice balance * You get a discount for bringing your own mug, and a buying a bag of coffee gets you a free drip (or discounted non-drip) coffee! Accessibility: Located on a bit of a slope, you may find it a little difficult to get here if you need to wheel to the cafe, but the inside is super spacious so you shouldn't have any issues ordering and grabbing your drink once here. Their outdoor seating, however, is not accessible, so know that you'll probably have to grab and go! read more
Top 2 best tasting flat whites and espresso based drinks in SF. The other location is inconsistent but this Mariposa outpost hasn't let me down so far. They also roast their beans here and the smell is heavenly. No indoor seating which is a shame but a few seats outside. read more
I was in the Potrero Hill neighborhood today so my partner and I decided to try Linea Caffe. The cafe itself was pretty small, and seems like it would cater more towards take out than eating in. That being said, I appreciated how it wasn't crowded and was still spacious despite being more of an order-and-go experience. My partner ordered the Cappuccino and I ordered the Matcha Latte. The drinks were a little on the pricy side, but felt worth it because they both turned out to be delicious. I watched them use real matcha powder to make the matcha latte, which I appreciated since a lot of places use a syrup or mix. The whole milk they used for the drinks was also sooo good - it added a rich flavor and complemented the drinks well. Overall, we were super impressed by Linea Caffe and are excited to visit again soon! read more

I got an iced oat milk latte with simple syrup and it tasted heavenly. Maybe it was a combination of me feeling dehydrated and/or thinking this drink tasted amazing because I finished the entire thing within a block of the cafe. It was super good, and I highly recommend this drink order. Maybe it was also a combination of the caffeine in this drink being really effective and/or the fact that I didn't eat anything else that morning because I ended up on a caffeine-induced energy rollercoaster for upwards of four hours after visiting Linea. TLDR: get your coffee here if you're looking to REALLY wake up. I also got a bag of coffee beans, which got me ~$4 off my latte. What a great deal! :) read more

Was looking for a coffee place near Potrero Hill, and found this coffee place! There's no seating indoors, but there are some benches outside. The baristas were nice, and super helpful when i couldn't decide which drink i wanted. Tried their Hot Salted Maple Latte ($8) - I could taste the salt that they sprinkled on top of the latte, which was yum. Afterwards the latte didn't stand out too much for the steep price that it was worth. Overall creamy latte, but I wish the maple was a little stronger. read more
I love this unassuming local coffee shop in Potrero Hill ! The inside has an industrial feel with concrete walls and floors and exposed wooden beams. No indoor seating here, but there are wooden benches right outside of the cafe. Drinks are made quickly by the staff and I never had to wait more than 5 minutes for my drink. Shakerato ($7) - 5/5 This was my second time getting this drink. I love how creamy and smooth this drink is with a hint of sweetness. Although it's in smaller cup, I think it's enough coffee for the drink. Highly recommend, especially if don't like super bitter coffee. read more

I've been to the Linea in The Mission a handful of times, so I was excited to check this location out! The interior is really spacious and they have a variety of coffee beans and products for sale. We ordered a latte, which tasted just as great as we remembered. Will definitely be back again (especially while waiting for brunch nearby)! read more
Cute, unassuming little coffee shop located in a quieter area of SF. We were able to find parking easily on a Sunday afternoon, which was nice since that's usually an issue in the city. We ordered an iced oat milk cortado. The espresso was a bit acidic for our liking and there wasn't much complexity to it. They offer a wide range of beans but none of the packaging listed tasting notes for each bean. We probably won't be back since it's out of the way for us, but it's a decent option if you need a caffeine fix and don't want to worry about parking in SF. read more
My fave coffee spot when I'm in the area. Excellent coffee and great pastries from local shops. The parklet is spacious and clean and usually several spots open. They are not open for inside dining and serve through the window. Staff are awesome and friendly but again....coffee is top notch read more

Stopped by this coffee shop because my party had a long wait time to eat somewhere else nearby. The line wasn't too long, and actually was quite empty after we ordered. I ordered the cortado and it was delicious and gave me enough caffeine. However, I did not order other items, so not sure what to compare. My friends seemed to enjoy their drinks so I imagine it's a good spot. It is quite expensive (I paid $5.30) for a small cortado maybe not worth to some. Overall the experience was good, I can see how ordering drinks is slow (but we were not in a rush so not an issue for me particularly), because they take the order and the next customer does not go until the previous receives their drink. I do like how you don't actually have to enter as you just order right at the door, quite covid safe. read more
