We are at Lin's last night for the first time since Covid. Now mind you this has been my place for take out food. A year ago, I gave them 5 stars. I understand that places are recovering from Covid...however, the service we received didn't match the bill I paid. At. All. ... At. All. First issue they had one Hibachi chef. Uno. One is the loneliest number. There were two groups ahead of mine, so we had to wait for my man to make it to our side of the table. I won't get into seating. Second issue, the Hibachi chef was sloppy. I mean splashing yum yum sauce on the table, rice coming at ya with some noodles coming in as well. Third issue, my okay was dirty and I had to get a waitress attention, who was not paying attention, to get a clean plate. So she absolutely wasn't in it to win it. It took a minute to get her attention for the plate, more drinks and by the end I just went and got my own bag...I'm sorry she came promptly with the check. So...love Lin's for take out but this experience has me hesitant to cross the door anytime soon with my dollars. read more

Although we were seated 40 minutes past our reservation time the restaurant was apologetic and gave us free spring roll and fried cream cheese wonton appetizers...came out fresh, hot and delicious! Our group did the hibachi dinner. The experience was fun and entertaining. The food was good. I would recommend it and go back again. The restaurant was clean and modern. Dirty grill and low quality service. I went there with my wife on a date. I ordered three sushi rolls that looked like they were played floor hockey with. Also, the combination of meat, seafood and poultry that we ordered was distributed with other people that had their own order and it was not like ours. The chicken was gross and the grill was not clean with rice in it. The device was bad and We did not finish the food and went to pay. The waitress threw a fit because they did not get a tip. I told her of the dirty grill, substandard food, and that we left our food since it was inedible. I will not recommend this place to anyone. read more

I am an avid Hibachi lover and was excited to try this restaurant. I am not sure if It was an off day for this restaurant but I was very disappointed in not only the food but the staff. When we first arrived, we were ignored and I had to wave someone over. If it were a busy period, I could understand this but there were only a handful of people in the entire establishment. Instead of being treated cordially, the hostess/waitress gave off an air of irritability and barely spoke to us. She even rolled her eyes when I caught her attention to come over. The hibachi grill that we were seated at was not fully clean. I gave a benefit of a doubt and figured the chef would clean it before starting. He didn't. Instead of pointing this out, I dismissed this to focus on enjoying the show. Now here is where I really became disappointed: He gave our order to the other people at the table. Before starting, he asked everyone what they ordered and how they would like their meat cooked. We were the only ones that had steak and shrimp without order. He then proceeded to give everyone steak and shrimp to everyone, regardless. And unequally, as well. Somehow the customers that ordered the steak and shrimp were given less than the ones that didn't order. No fault of theirs, but the food was cooked with too much sauce for my taste so I decided not to eat and just pay for meal. I decided that I did. When I gave feedback of our experience to the hostess after paying, I was met with more eye rolls and aggression. Not the best hibachi I've had, but it's decent and the prices aren't bad. Location is a little odd, but the advantage to that is that it's never busy. Been here several times during dinner and never had to wait. When you walk in, you can either have hibachi (where they cook the food in front of you) or you can sit on the left side where there are tables and order from a menu. This is a Chinese owned "Japanese" hibachi. Not as authentic as the hibachis I'm used to in Hawaii. I went with a group and we sat around the teppanyaki grill. The showmanship was good, the grilled food looked good as well. I ordered from the sushi bar, a regular sashimi plate ($23.00), and a beer ($8.00). My beer came about 30 minutes after someone in my group reminded them that I have not received my drink, and the rice that came with my sashimi entree never came at all. I used to come to Havre De Grace every year and the rest of the crew would sit down to pick crabs while i was left to find my own dinner. One time I tried a sushi restaurant but it was terrible so I've mainly stuck to pizza places on Crab Night. I found Lin's Hibachi and decided to give it a try. Prices were a bit high for the area but same as DC area. I always enjoy sushi more dining in than Take Out but have learned to adapt during Coronavirus. Anyhow, I've really enjoyed visiting the town of Havre De Grace but the lack of quality restaurants has always made me long for home after a while. Well, now that I've tested Lin's Hibachi several times, I can say HdG might be more than just a weekend getaway spot for me. The Angry Bird roll is highly recommended by my entire family. I ordered online and both times the food was ready on time and prepared perfectly. Thanks Lin's! Ill be back soon hopefully! I found another place north of HdG ( Johnny's) that also has delicious sushi so I am thrilled!! read more

Solid restaurant. Came here for dinner last night. My parents and fiance are vegetarians -- me? Not so much, but I try. Last night, I was not trying. I got the Steak & Chicken. Tasted a little bland -- lacked flavor -- but it certainly wasn't bad. My fiance got the vegetable sushi, which she was not a fan of but she ate it anyway. Both of my parents got the shrimp teriyaki (they cheat when it comes to seafood) and loved it. My parents live in Philadelphia and we live in DC. Every other week or so we meet up at a restaurant in Havre de Grace because it's a good middle ground to meet up. The last few times we've meet up at the Laurrapin grille but they closed at 6 PM on Sunday's -- along with all the other restaurants along North Washington Street. So strange. What my fiance and I found to be hilarious and my parents -- along with other guests who walked up to the doors and then turned around -- was the severe confusion this place has with their identity. When you enter the restaurant, it's chic, trendy, and appeasing to the eyes. It's your typical Asian-fusion, very clean, Hibachi-joint. However, first impressions are important and the establishment looks like a straight up strip club from the parking lot. My parents arrived about five minutes and as I was sitting at the red light to make a u-turn to turn into the parking lot, I could see they were still sitting in their car. I figured they must be closed and we'd be audibling to another restaurant. Instead, they were hesitant to enter because they honestly thought it was a strip club. There was this picture of a big breasted, seductive-looking woman promoting some DJ event that was taking place on the property. Apparently, Lin Hibachi is trying to recreate itself as more of a night club on the weekends, I guess? Like I said, very odd location to do this at, if you're familiar with the area. This woman is supposedly a DJ who was spinning there the previous night. I don't know why you have to show 3/4 of your breasts, if you're profession is a DJ. Are you trying to distract us from your actual talent of spinning records with that? Mission accomplished at least for my dad and me but I, personally, can't take a DJ seriously with a poster like that. It's something I'd have on my wall as a 12-year old boy entering puberty. My parents claimed that they saw another couple walk up to the doors, stare at the posters plastered on the door, talk amongst themselves for a few seconds and then got back into their car and left. Like I said, I'm not from Havre de Grace so maybe this place is jumping on Saturday's. It's quite possible -- even though I can't picture it is. So all of this is meant as constructive criticism, not a diss -- cause the food was actually decent and the presentation of the restaurant was on point. Having said all that, we'll probably still return because it's a nice, middle-ground location between DC and Philly with vegetarian options. read more

My third trip for sushi ... I always give a restaurant three opportunities to succeed ... unfortunately the third trip was a repeat of the previous two ... warm raw sushi ... I just can't do warm / room temp raw fish ... I love good spicy tuna so I ordered the spicy tuna roll with avocado .. it was warm and had zero spicy flavor ... had no flavor at all ... had to dunk it in soy for flavor .. What a beautiful restaurant and always a smile when I walk in. Customer service is important to me. But besides that, the sushi rolls are delicious. I had a couple of the basic rolls and went back the next night to try something more "extravagant". The menu has an extensive cooked and raw roll listing. First time here and the meal was good. There was no greet when we walked it but the menus were available at the entrance. She took my order when i was ready and didn't tell me the Lunch specials were not available on Sundays until after i paid (i missed it but it did say it in Fine print on the menu). There was so much to choose from that it took me a while. I ordered the Crab Wantons (6) for $4.95, Chicken Katsu bento (w/white rice, miso soup, green salad - - - the menus also said California roll and Shumai, but that didn't come with) for $12.95 and Shrimp Tempura Rolls (3) for 11.95. The soup was nice and warm for a cold day! And i really been wanting some wantons, although after the first try i believe it should have been more crunchy. My child is so picky when it comes to sauce but when he dipped his chicken into the Katsu sauce, he really enjoyed it. I was shocked! 4 years of pickiness LOL. We came on Mother's Day Sunday for dinner and I was surprised it was so empty. But we did arrive pretty late. The food was good; the decor was also very nice. I ordered the filet and chicken; the filet was extremely tender. I also had plum wine which was a little too sweet but that's probably my fault for ordering plum wine. I noticed that they gave slightly smaller vegetable portions than other hibachi restaurants. This is a shame because eating a heaping serving of veggies lessens my guilt whenever I go out to eat... I was very impressed with this place. I've come here a few times. I feel the prices are fair for what you get (I usually splurge with filet mignon hibachi). I thought the service was quite good. Only feedback I have is that most places that make hibachi offer 2 kinds of sauces, this only offers the creamy (mayonnaise-based?) one. Also, the salad that comes with your meal is iceberg (not unusual, but it's not unheard of for it to be something better lately), and the dressing they use is too watery. I'd just skip salad and go with the tasty soup. This is as good as it gets for the 40 corridor by a longshot. It'll be a semi-frequent lunch stop for me. read more

I came here last night and Lins did not disappoint. We had reservations for 6:30 but had to wait about 20 mins until there was a full crowd to fill up the hibachi table. No worries though, we headed to the bar. The bartender was nice and informative. I asked how the sangria on the menu was and he suggested getting something else because it wasn't that good. He let us sample the asian pear wine. It was very sweet but tasty. Our chef at the table put on a great show. We got Saki squirted into our mouths and he tossed us slices of zucchini. It was a fun experience. I got the chicken and shrimp hibachi. This included miso soup and salad with ginger dressing that came out before the chef arrived at our table. The meal was served with fried rice, noodles and veggies. The portions are big but worth the price. The place was clean, staff friendly, food fresh. I came in for a quick bite before going grocery shopping because you should never go shopping hungry. The Chicken Tom Yum was wonderfully flavored and spiced. The quality of chicken was very high. After eating at Nasi Malay in Delaware, maybe I shouldn'tve expected the same here I asked for something "similar" to the Green Goddess at Nasi (read that review), and Lins didn't even come close Same with the miso soup and the tea I had to ask them to reheat the vegetable rice, and it seemed to take longer than I would have thought it should I was charged $3 extra to have the (single) veggie tempura fried -like they already do at Nasi And the avocado was inside, not thinly sliced and rolled on the outside Wasn't crowded during lunch and waitress was pleasant enough My lunch date ordered a platter of varying fish and was unhappily surprised that no rice came with the meal. Asked for a small bowl and was then charged an extra $2 One piece of fish she said was bland (she actually said it tasted of bleach). And told this to the waitress: got a blank stare worth no apology or an offer to make it right You start with an affordable lunch and they nickle and dime you till you end up dropping $20 Probably won't be back. Really really bad. Ordered sweet potato rolls, chicken pad Thai, spicy shrimp rolls, harumaki and mango avocado rolls. Cost us 50 bucks and as soon as we opened the pad Thai the entire room stinky of fish and unwashed feet. My husband got down one bite and could go no further. The sweet potatoes rolls, ordered 3, half were different then the other! They looked different were rolled differently, a bunch fell apart before making it to the plate, and even had different crunch and texture! The spicy shrimp rolls were the best of the bunch but there was not anything spectacular or even second chance worthy about them. One other thing that really sent flags up were the prices they charged us are not the prices advertised in their online menu. They were .50 to $1.50 more! We will not be dining from this establishment again. read more

Came here a couple of years ago with my family and it was very good. Not so, any more. Then, staff was friendly, very accommodating and food was good. Now, unfriendly staff made us feel like we were interrupting her fun time with the staff and her cell phone. She was very impersonal and did as little as possible. Having an automatic 15% gratuity tacked on, I got the feeling she knew she would get hers no matter how well she interacted with us. She certainly did not deserve it. Food was mediocre. Salads that come with the dinners are nothing but iceberg lettuce with some runny, Russian dressing type coating. The sauces in the dinners were uneventful. Saccharin quality, thin and poured like soup on the dishes. My family was very disappointed after experiencing such a difference from the last time we were here. We won't return. read more

Last night I ate here as part of a 22 person group and I was VERY disappointed with Lins. I've been eating here literally since they opened and my experience made me somewhat sad. Lin's food has always been excellent. I am always telling people where I work that they are one of the hidden jewels of Havre de Grace, but I imagine that won't happen so much anymore. My issue with my last meal there has nothing to do with the quality of the food itself. I had the steak and scallop hibachi and it tasted wonderful like always. The issue I have is with the quantity of the food, not the quality. It was like they should change the name to "Lin's 3/5 Hibachi". I really should have taken a picture of the plate, it was honestly that bad. I got maybe three decent bites of noodles, perhaps half a cup of fried rice, four scallops, and about half a cup of cut up steak. I suppose it would be different if I was only paying $10 for the meal, but for a restaurant that charges around $20-$25 a plate, it was completely unacceptable. I actually left after dinner thinking about hitting up the McDonald's because I was still hungry. The people in our party definitely noticed the tiny portions and some looked as mad as I was shocked. I don't know if this was an anomaly or a new trend, but I think the empty dining room on a Friday night might be a clue as to which one it is. This is sad because I used to LOVE Lin's, but for the price of their dinner I don't think I will take that gamble again. read more
