I've been going to Lisa's Beauty Salon for eyelash extensions for over a year now and have always had a good experience until my latest appointment. I even paid extra this time for the silk lashes and volume and within 2 weeks, most of them have fallen off due to poor application and now my eyelashes look terrible! I called in to explain my issue and not only was the lady on the phone rude to me, but she also refused to give me any kind of discount as any form of compensation and just informed me that "this is normal." I've been here multiple times with no issues with my extensions (sometimes even lasting a month), so I did not appreciate the way my situation was handled. I will likely never return here again but words of advice for anyone planning to try this place: do NOT upgrade and just go with the synthetic lashes, use their Groupon offer, and pay cash for 5% off. If you want good customer service, this is also NOT the place for you. read more

Saw her work on previous reviews and had to try her. I got a natural light set and Annie helped me pick out the shape and length that would fit my eyes. I had a wonderful first eyelash extension experience with Lisa's Beauty Salon! I've never gotten lash extensions before and I was nervous about trying it for the first time, and a friend referred me to this salon via the Groupon deal. Instead of shelling out a hundred plus dollars which other salons require, I got a natural light set for around $50 (because the Groupon deal had an extra 20% off that day). I think the normal price is $59. (Also a sidenote that Lisa's Beauty Salon honors Groupon pricing even if you pay directly in their store.) I was nervous about going from natural lashes to falsies and because I didn't want them to look too dramatic and the natural light set was perfect. They make your lashes look natural but visibly different - you'll look much more awake and put together... and best of all, no eye make-up is needed in the mornings! My beautician was wonderfully efficient and I was in and out in twenty five minutes. I can't wait to return and try the natural full set next time. I'm so satisfied with my lashes! It was my first time getting eye lash extensions, so I didn't know what to expect. I was able to book an appointment the same day. Tina did my lashes, it took a little over an hour, and it doesn't hurt at all. I actually fell asleep for a little bit lol. She explained maintenance on my lashes twice, and even talked me through the sizes and which ones would look best. I'll be back for fills, definitely brings more attention to your eyes. Hair today and I won't be coming back tomorrow. I had high hopes for Lisa's Beauty Salon after reading the amazing Yelp reviews. I have been looking for ways to smooth out my hair, which is thick, wavy, and often frizzy, so I purchased the Groupon for a keratin hair smoothing treatment ($120 instead of the regular $250+ price). I arrived at the salon late, but Lisa was very gracious about my tardiness. Her assistant immediately rushed me to the sink to wash my hair. The shampoo smelled amazing and her assistant gave an almost orgasmic scalp massage. I tried to make conversation, but she didn't speak English, so I just closed my eyes and relaxed. After she rinsed off my hair, she directed me to a hair station and gestured that she would blow-dry my hair. Before she could start, I asked Lisa about getting a haircut. Lisa generously offered me $28 instead of the usual $65 since I was getting the keratin hair treatment. As Lisa's assistant began to blow dry my hair, she teased it, which only caused my hair to frizz, tangle, and dry up. I was shocked at this incompetency. Any professional hair dresser who ran their fingers through my hair just once would know better. When they began to put the keratin in my hair, they did it with the smallest, finest-toothed comb. In combination with my dry tangled hair, I thought was going to go bald with the amount of hair they started pulling out of my head. The shampoo they used also dried out my scalp, so I could feel dry, itchy skin fall. I was in the salon for over 2 hours going through this excruciating torture. When Lisa was finally able to cut my hair, she chopped it off like a kid when they're given scissors for the first time. She had the audacity to say my hair had been uneven even though I know that it wasn't. I told her that it probably looked uneven to her because my part is normally to the side and her assistant had placed it in the middle. I would place this haircut comparable to one I got at Chinatown in some hole in the wall, but at least there I only paid $13. I don't know if Lisa was having an off day or if this is how this business normally runs, but I think next time I'd rather spend the extra money to have my hair done by a true professional. Ladies, don't waste your money. This was probably one of the worst haircuts I've ever had, and definitely not worth $65. Time will tell if the keratin treatment was worth it, but the manner in which it was applied was terrible. read more

I was given a Groupon for Lisa's on Church Street by my daughter. I called to make an appointment and went this morning. The bright purple signage made it easy to find, and Lisa greeted me, gave me a relaxing shampoo, then started cutting my hair. She was professional and very pleasant and I was very impressed. She actually lifted hair from both sides of my head to determine if the lengths were even. The salon was clean and bright, and as I say, Lisa was pleasant and professional and good. She offered to give me a post cut rinse, which I have never before been offered, and would have appreciated had I had the time. They are fast, accommodating to my busy schedule, affordable and most importantly they come out amazingly natural every time. This will be my 3rd fill and I've been nothing but pleased. I went for the silk full set when I started, then have gotten the "in between " which pretty much means I think 100 lashes instead of 80 and they are the perfect natural dramatic that I like. Got a Groupon, luckily it was 25% off because this place is not even worth $80. My sister does exteme lashes for like $380 a set so she's told me a lot of things about it. Currently she's very pregnant (avoiding work and glue) and I wanted something cheap for the lunar new year this week so I jumped on this V-day sale. First off, if you are not Western you will be treated badly. My appt. was at 4:15PM, I was waiting until 5:05PM with no explanation or anything. The other blonde lady waiting 20 mins was offered water just after they asked me to come back, but nothing for me. They said they were behind because the woman before me was 30 mins late to her appt. Tina then started arguing with me about my Groupon since I didn't have the app and didn't want to use the data to download it for just one thing; I had it on desktop mode with all the same capacity and had to take another 10 mins to explain because she didn't want me to be able to use it again. She rudely argued about it with me. 5:15, an hour after my appt time, she starts. They use retangular tape to cover the bottom lid that touched my eye ball the entire time. Other places I go have specific tape shaped for your eye. I don't know how people fall asleep as she would occasionally poke my eyelids with the lashes. Also, the people who usually do my lashes here and in Asia (I go often enough and service is generally much higher standard) glue the lash and stick it on my eyelash. Tina brushed glue over all my actual eyelashes and hurriedly stuck lashes on, I was so shocked! She took literally 20 mins total, and there's a very large and noticeable gap on my left set of lashes pictured here! I expected 40 mins at least, the claim that fast is good is a myth! Someone is gluing single strands to each of your eyelashes (in this case 70% of your eyelashes as seen in the picture), it should take at least an hour for a quality full set, definitely not 20 mins! This place doesn't even do individual, they have like three strands attached to bulky plastic (did they just cut some off a false set??) That is heavy and irritates my eyelid. I am constantly looking in the mirror hoping it will even out a little bit, but nothing. She then said she was giving me a discount on a two week fill ($70) and pressured me to pay a tip. After making me wait an hour and rushing through my session? No way. Never coming back, just pay extra somewhere more professional and higher quality, especially if you are not Western looking! read more

Horrible communication, I never got any service done because of it. I had an appointment at 1pm and was 15 mins late, when I got there the girl at the front took me to the room next door where they do lashes and told me to sit and wait, I had no idea what was going on or how long I had to wait, so I waited til 1:45, and still no one checked on me or give me an update. I understand I was 15mins late, I would have had no problem reschedule if the girl had communicated with me, at least tell me if my spot was taken, or how long the wait would be. After waiting for over 30 mins I went next door and tried to tell her I need to reschedule but she was looking on her phone and completely ignored me. I ended up walking out. When I saw a deal on Groupon for $89 I decided to give them a call to see if I could get an appointment first. They told me to forgo the Groupon and that they would honour the price. First appointment went well but by the first week most of the lashes on my right eye had fallen out. I went back in for a fill at 50% of the original price but my previous lash girl had written down +$20 on my card because I had asked about the mink upgrade and Tina, the artist that took over thought I had wanted the upgrade and filled in my lashes with the mink so I ended up being charged extra (whomp whomp) That being said, Tina was super fast and filled my lashes in really well, two weeks in and I still have most of my lashes. I guess upgrading to mink really worked out. Will probably go back to them seeing as they're so much cheaper than the other places I've been going to and lash extensions are a really expensive luxury to maintain. read more
