I'm staying close to the Venice Beach boardwalk and was in desperate need to a) get out of the airbnb b) some food that I wasn't making myself, so I decided to talk a walk to the beach in hopes of finding something. I got more than I was hoping for! I'm so used to average, touristy food in spots like this but this was NOT that. Marlene (I think that was her name and I feel awful for not remembering) was awesome. I was behind someone else in line and had the chance to listen to her go over everything with the person in front of me. She takes the time to answer any question with such energy and joy, that it was great to even listen to! By the time I got up to order myself, I joked with her that she should have a little microphone and speaker when she was talking... guaranteed to bring people in. I wasn't expecting too much from the food when I walked up, but my expectations/hopes were raised as I listened to her talk through the options. By the time I got my order (order came out super fast), I was exited to dig in and wasn't let down. I ordered a traditional lunch burrito with chicken (rice, cheese, beans) and it was amazing... .and filling. There's not a lot more to say about it... They had hot sauce options, that are gone over in detail, and they're all worthwhile. I like my spicy sauces to be, well, spicy - and these had a nice little kick to it. If you find yourself wandering Venice (toward the South end) and just aren't sure about the options... check them out. You'll be entertained, full and satisfied when you're done :) read more

BEST BURRITO EVER? This shop caught my eye with its large but simple 'street tacos' sign. The owner was very inviting and took me through a step by step experience of the menu. The menu - at first - seemed a little disorganised. However, their format encouraged a more personable relationship between the restaurant, and the guest. I seem to remember ordering a Cali-burrito with the Green-lit sauce and I thought it was the one of the best burritos I had ever had. I was enticed by the richness of the cream in the sauce layered on top of the hearty, cheesy steak all nicely held together with their own signature sauce. I did, however, find the crinkle-cut fries in the burrito to be a touch too cold and under seasoned, as if they were left out for too long. This did not sway my opinion of the burrito to a more negative light, I just thought if the chips were fresher, it would be closer to perfect. The price I paid for this burrito was about $16USD, which in Australian money, is not cheap for a burrito. But given the beach atmosphere and how popular the area is, I thought the food was great value. I made sure to leave a tip for the nice lady that served me. Overall, this experience was one I won't forget, and I'll be visiting their shop very soon. read more

George cooked us up steak and shrimp tacos, kids had some cheesy nachos, chicken quesadilla for the win and the creamy green special sauce can not be missed. The MOST delicious burritos and tacos I've ever eaten!! They have so many options! Various taco shell options, meat, fish and also vegetarian/vegan! The owners and the staff were so helpful! i've been going to Venice Beach for over 40 years and LIT BURRITOS fits perfect @the boardwalk ...the food is absolutely amazing...everything Ive ordered since they opened ..I love it...taste so good...I definitely recommend LIT to everybody...always feel good after I eat there...took my son today and he loved it as well..definitely a five-star spot. read more
