    EATSCON fish slider
    Kameron G.

Was able to try the slider version of their most popular fish sandwich at EATSCON and it definitely lived up to the hype. If I ever find myself in the mood for a fish sandwich this is the place to go!

Disclaimer: the food is nice and I enjoyed it - just a little too pricey and I still left pretty hungry after spending $28. I ordered the fried fish sandwich which was fried very well and the potatoes were nice too. I would give this place a higher rating if the fish sandwich was like $12 or $13. Vibe is casual, very clean and cute outdoor and indoor seating area where they seem to sell specialty food items like sauces and tinned fish. I liked the food, it's just a little too expensive for me to come back when I could go somewhere else for a lunch type sandwich with a potato. I would try for yourself if you like fish sandwiches.

Their "famous" fried fish sandwich that costs basically $20.....but the fish isn't cod? Flaky and crunchy, but fish tasted inferior

Finally tried this Michelin bib gourmand spot. Food was tasty, not amazing. I think the Pacific striped bass they used for the fried fish sandwich tasted ok. Crispy, flaky, nice texture. But it was quite expensive, basically $20 for something as big as my small hand. Nori potatoes were all right too, but the garlic aioli tasted better. Though, the sauce could've been more flavorful. I think the smoked fish dip (Vermillion rockfish) had the most flavor and was actually great with the potatoes. 3 fish sandwiches, nori potatoes appetizer & fish dip cost nearly $100 which is wild! Just as another yelper mentioned, I also didn't like how one of the staff ignored us as we were waiting to order at the tiny kiosk window, until someone else showed up at the window. Bathrooms are unavailable even at the attached market (actually, the coffee shop a few stores down also said the same, yikes). You have to cross the street to Lassen's. Metered street parking is not great.

I got the Little Fish slider at Eeeeatscon and it was very disappointing. I've always wanted to try the real thing in Echo Park but thought I would give the slider a chance at Eeeeatscon and it took 30 to 40 minutes to come out just to have moldy bread. I bit right into it and actually swallowed some before realizing it was mold. I went back and told them and they compensated me with some olives. Take that how you will, but after trying this slider, I don't think I will be trying the actual restaurant. Mold aside, it was a lazy slider with half a slice of Kraft cheese and more batter than fish.

As you know, I'm a coffeeholic. I'm always looking for coffee. I came across little fish on a whim. I think the name threw me off a bit, Little Fish doesn't really sound like coffee, but they have coffee! They actually have a great looking menu full of things I love. From fish sandwiches to congee to coffee. Little Fish is in Dada Market. They have an order window outside and they have lots of outdoor seating. I didn't go into the market so not sure if you can order inside and not sure if there is seating inside. There is street parking and parking in the back that you do have to pay for. I got an iced Elsinore which is a "okinawan black sugar sweetened latte with a cream top made of sour cream, condensed milk & heavy cream", and it was pretty good. My main focus during this visit was coffee, so I will definitely e coming back to try their food. It looks delish!

Loved the Smoked whitefish tartine, Crispy nori potatoes, and einspenner coffee! Food was freshly prepared, and overall very delicious and satisfied. My only complaint would be the price

There is nothing better to start off the experience than an extremely nice person who genuinely asks, "How is it going?". I have to be honest, she was so genuine and friendly, it took me by surprise! I am one of those people who feel like I shouldn't be asked to tip when it comes to counter service, but this was one time that I wanted to tip. We got to fish sandwiches and a side of potatoes. I loved the sandwich and the potatoes which came with a side of aioli. Although I thought the prices were a bit high, the quality of the food was great.

Filet-O-Fishes are one of those odd items that I've always loved, likely because I didn't get to eat them that often. Little Fish has been on my list for a while, so the hype is probably what led to a further drop from 3-star to 2-star. Wasn't really busy for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon as there were still seats open, but the wait for my sandwich was longer than I thought it would be especially as they have a small lunch menu. While the fish was fried very well and tasted good, the sandwich as a whole didn't go together for all the reasons said in previous reviews that I should have read: Fish was too salty, cheese was not even melted, plenty of perfectly placed pickles of I couldn't taste them and I couldn't even taste the tartar now that I think about it. Definitely not worth the $17 price tag. They should just come out with a fish and chips option, I think that would be much better. Disappointed I didn't come early enough for the fish congee, but doubtful I'd be back.

I tried the fried fish sandwich from Little Fish, and I must say that it's absolutely delicious. The fish was crispy, the bun was good, the vegan mayo I subbed in paired really well with the sandwich too. I also had the crispy nori potatoes as well, which I devoured so quickly that I forgot to take a photo of it. Between the phenomenal fried fish sandwich, good service from the staff, as well as a really chill ambiance sitting outside, I definitely recommend getting Little Fish's fried fish sandwich.

Little Fish is a cute little order-window-in-the-wall in apparently hipster Echo Park. How do I know it's hipster... well the extremely expensive "convenience" store next door was a dead giveaway! We got there before a Dodgers game, and there were already Japanese tourists in line, so LF is now an international brand! I got the shrimp sausage breakfast sandwich, which disappeared in two bites! One of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had! I have no idea what that sweet sauce was, but I was licking the drippings off the table, hygiene be damned! Not the cheapest place (again, hipster), but well worth it. Seating is outdoors in front of the convenience store. I'm sure this place gets packed closer to game time. Parking is street meter only -- good luck finding a spot! I'll be back for their famous fried sandwich.

    Fried fish sandwich $17

Finally can cross this one off my list! Stopped by for lunch and since it's a walk up window with outside seating, I brought my dog along. A lover of bananas and all things matcha, I ordered the Banana Milk Matcha and it did not disappoint. The banana flavor was subtle and overall not too sweet. I would gladly order this again. Now for the fried fish sandwich it is basically your upscale McDonald's filet o fish but way better. The sandwich looks small, but as you're eating it, it's pretty filling. The bun is soft super soft. The fry on the fish is nice and crispy and not laid on too thick. The fillet of fish itself is big in size and flaky. There's a slice of American cheese, a good amount of kewpie mayo, and plenty of pickles. Also, the amount of salt on the fish was good. Salty fish goodness! Do I like that this sandwich is $17? No. Is the sandwich good though? HELL YA!

    Mushroom congee
    Yula K.

Delicious mushroom congee with a slightly spicy, crunchy chili oil that adds so much flavor to the already umami mixture. The crispy potatoes are just as good - flavorful and satisfyingly crunchy. The brown cheese bread was a little much but enjoyable as well. Only came for breakfast but will look forward to trying lunch and the fried fish in the future

Fried fish sandwich and Crispy nori potatoes

It's good but I wouldn't go back. I ordered the fish sandwich and a side of potatoes. The fish sandwich reminded me taste wise of the one in McDonald's except much more expensive and I would hope the fish here is fresher. but taste wise, it was the same. I wish there was some sort of sauce that differentiated it because it tasted kind of bland. The side of potatoes was great, it brings a dip and is enough to share for two people or maybe even three. There's a small area to sit outdoors only in long communal tables.

We enjoyed the naan & dips (tahini tofu, carrot 'hummus'), and they offered corn chips for my friend to enjoy because she is gluten-free. For my entree, I had the sticky glazed fried maitake mushroom, and OMG, was it worth every penny! The dish was so flavorful and nothing like I've ever had! It was my friend's birthday, so we also ordered dessert. I had the mango sorbet, it was soooo smooth and refreshing! Our servers, food runners, and bartenders were so kind and raved about the Chef. It is clear they are all a well-oiled machine and enjoy working together as a team. The restaurant was clean, and the entire vibe of the restaurant was charming. Even though my partner and I had a reservation that we showed up on time for, we waited 30 minutes to be seated. That wait time is pretty outrageous considering we reserved a table for 30 minutes earlier. Once seated, we noticed that the staff were extremely slow and inattentive. It took a while for us to get some water and even longer to get our food. The pacing between dishes was ludicrous. The food here is the saving grace for the disappointing service. We started off with the naan & dips. The dips were tahini tofu and carrot hummus. I liked the tahini tofu dip much more than the carrot hummus. It was creamy, nutty, and savory. The naan was fresh and nicely charred. Next we had the goat liver mousse. This included crumpets, biscuit crackers, craisin relish, seasonal jam, and of course, goat liver mousse. The crackers were too dry for me, but I really enjoyed the warm crumpets. All of the spreads were equally good. The goat live mousse itself was smooth and light. For the main courses, we shared the grilled kalbi-style short ribs and pork belly noodles. The short ribs were covered in a sweet-savory sauce and had a deep caramelization, while the meat was tender and juicy. As for the pork belly noodles, the overall flavor was too salty, but the glass noodles had a nice texture. Throughout our entire meal, there was a fly that kept trying to fly onto our food. It was very annoying to deal with. I was surprised that it was even an issue, considering we had indoor seating. I would have understood if only we were seated outside. Ultimately, I did not leave with a great impression of this restaurant. On top of that, there isn't any designated parking lot, so you'll be lucky if you can even find street parking. If not, you'll need to use one of the paid lots nearby. Also, beware that this restaurant adds a surcharge to all checks regardless of party size.

It remains a unique addition to the neighborhood, as well as a good place to grab some interesting dishes. Since the opening of this particular business, the Zinc chain has opened in a few other locations. Those locations are much newer in not only their establishment but their design. This is not to say that this is still not an interesting, well-designed business, but, with time, it has become a little bit rundown. I hate to say it, but that is the truth. This location could really use an update and perhaps a deep cleaning. I was, in fact, kind of surprised at the condition of this business, for example, on the way towards their restrooms. From my opinion, it needs an clean up and an update. Also, the litter that surrounded some of the outdoor tables where I was sitting at my most recent visit was very surprising. This is just something to keep in mind if you're coming here for your first visit. In terms of what they offer for food, though it has evolved a bit over the years, they still have a great, heath-based menu, with some very interesting choices. For all of you vegetarians and vegans out there, you will, for sure, be able to find some tasty food to eat. Once upon a time, this restaurant was impacted with tons and tons of people. It was constantly full with people either going to the bakery and/or sitting down for table service. Shortly past their opening each day, there would be a line of people waiting for service. This seems to have changed, however. Meaning, if you're looking for an interesting place to eat, with some good dishes, at the far Southeast side of DTLA, near the lofts district, and you want a place without a long wait to get a table and/or your food, this may still be your place to go.

We could understand that it was busy but the waitress never apologized or said anything like they were understaffed or anything. Also, we had a few questions about the menu and our drinks and the waitress would just say, "I think so?" or give a vague answer. She didn't seem very knowledgeable about the menu at all. Maybe she was new, but clearly training was lacking. I don't think I'll be returning but since I see many reviews relating to service issues, hopefully management is able to address the deficit

A few weeks ago, I tried a sample of a Venison burger at Sprouts and it was pretty amazing. I felt…read morethat I needed to try this here as well. My friend just flew in for a day because his relative had forgot her passport and needed to travel to Korea, so we stopped here. He missed a few meetings, a vet appointment and other things, but also saved the day, otherwise his relative wouldn't have been able to make it to Korea. While here, they ordered a salad with cherries and pecans that was pretty amazing. I think that may have been one of the better salads I've eaten. In addition to that, a cucumber burrata salad was ordered, and that was made well too. When my venison burger arrived, I took a few bites and it had the exact flavor I was hoping for and I thought the burger was done extremely well. My friend also ordered a pork chop, and it was an amazing cut, cooked perfectly, tender, juicy and everything you could ever want in a bone in pork chop. They also cut the entire piece for you and scraped every last bit off of the bone too. The service is really attentive. They come by your table a lot to ensure you have everything you need. The ambiance is a bit dim in lighting which sets a nice mood. And the place just happens to be dog friendly too. Sorry for the lack of photos, but I didn't wanna intrude on everyone else's meals. However, if you come here, definitely try the salad with cherries and the venison burger or the pork chop!

Amazing apple butter 10/10 easy must get The dip was okay,…read morenot a big fan but it is a bigger portion. Great for pics The pop Benedict was good but not super filling, the eggs well seasoned and good sauce Bacon super bomb, if you like sweet Canadian bacon. Not a fan of the grits Tartar 10/10 easy really good dish to get to share Chile was okay nothing else besides sauce and chips 4/10 Ribeye steak very small like 6 oz steak for $58 it's great but not for the size and quality Great service, really fast and their mixed drinks were bomb too. I liked the melon one 9/10 Overnight oats is good too but on the higher end, 7/10 nothing crazy but still good If I go back the butter, burger and pop Benedict would be the move or bacon
