The fried tofu was a great substitution for the fish sandwich. Prices were a bit steeper for the size and the wait was a little longer for the food to come out, but staff was very nice and everything tasted fresh. I brought my mom and brother on Saturday April 25th around 12PM to show them around and unfortunately the person that took our order was rude and had no patience for innocent questions like "do you have sugar packets", I didn't get the persons name but he looked ethnically Philippine. The lady serving the food was very patient and friendly but the front window was bitter and rude to the point that you would rather not ask anything to avoid the interaction. I won't be going back due to this experience. Servers are the face of any establishment. I would put that guy at the dishwasher if he doesn't like talking to people. I think the name threw me off a bit, Little Fish doesn't really sound like coffee, but they have coffee! They actually have a great looking menu full of things I love. I didn't go into the market so not sure if you can order inside and not sure if there is seating inside. There is street parking and parking in the back that you do have to pay for. I got an iced Elsinore which is a "okinawan black sugar sweetened latte with a cream top made of sour cream, condensed milk & heavy cream", and it was pretty good. Little Fish has been on my list for a while, so the hype is probably what led to a further drop from 3-star to 2-star. Wasn't really busy for a late lunch on a Friday afternoon as there were still seats open, but the wait for my sandwich was longer than I thought it would be especially as they have a small lunch menu. While the fish was fried very well and tasted good, the sandwich as a whole didn't go together for all the reasons said in previous reviews that I should have read: Fish was too salty, cheese was not even melted, plenty of perfectly placed pickles of I couldn't taste them and I couldn't even taste the tartar now that I think about it. Definitely not worth the $17 price tag. They should just come out with a fish and chips option, I think that would be much better. A lover of bananas and all things matcha, I ordered the Banana Milk Matcha and it did not disappoint. The banana flavor was subtle and overall not too sweet. I would gladly order this again. Now for the fried fish sandwich it is basically your upscale McDonald's filet o fish but way better. The sandwich looks small, but as you're eating it, it's pretty filling. Our family of three jumped in the car and headed to Echo Park. Ordered three fish sandos, some Topo Chico and a Mexican coke. Grabbed spot in the outdoor tables and enjoyed the nice day.. This sandwich is the best fish sandwich I've ever had. It's like an idealized version of the filet o' fish. Nice soft bun, American cheese and Kewpie Mayo. If you like fish sandwiches this is a must try. Next time we will try the steak sandwich. There's also a little market with a bunch of great stuff. Sauces, bun and grandma's bread and more. Scooping into the warm rice porridge and finding the striped bass was like panning for gold. It was just too good!!! We typically eat a Filipino dish at home called Arroz Caldo, which is a chicken rice porridge. The Fish Congee was a delight and I hope to try to replicate this in our household. Or, just come back!! It doesn't look large, but it is a dense item. I was pretty satisfied just on the sandwich alone and I'm not a small person. The crisp on the sandwich was great and so was the sauce. Came for breakfast to try the brown cheese toast with no one ahead of me in line and ended up waiting 20-25 minutes for a cold slice of toast, cold butter, and cold cheese.
