We love this place! We went there 3 times while we were in Astoria. They were conveniently located maybe 30 feet from we were staying. The first day we had their breakfast special, bacon, egg, and cheese on a delicious soft bread. Only $6 for 2 sandwiches and a coffee. Remember though that was a special. They have other specials, every day. The second time I got the tomato, ham, and mayo! It was big sandwich and so delicious! The 3rd time I got a spinach wrap with egg ham and cheese. Again, so good! The owner, I think, is so nice. It's a super quaint spot and maintained pretty busy while we were there. Clean and cozy!

    Great cup of coffee! Efkharistou!!

Wake Up World to the cutest, tastiest, immaculate coffee, crepe and sandwich shop in the 11102. Ladies and Gentlemen, it is an absolute honor to introduce you to the wonderful Wake Cup Astoria. The owner John is so warm, loving, fun, patient and hospitable. I got a chance to enjoy a lovely chat with him. His greeting, welcome and how he takes care of each customer and order is something special. Love the menu boards with an extensive variety of hot and cold coffees, hot sandwiches, rolls, bagels, croissants and salads. There is a great Omelette special as well. The restaurant is spotless. I saw some orders being prepared and served and the egg sandwiches and crepes looked divine. The prices are fantastic. The coffee is great- fresh, hot and strong. Wake Cup Astoria is open from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm M-F and 7:30 am to 4:30 pm on the weekends. I am new to this neighborhood but feel so at home at this establishment.

Came here with a friend for a quick lunch while visiting a patient at Mount Sinai. Very convenient that it's down the block! As I walked in, the place was rather small but "cozy". There are some seats to enjoy dine-in; as well as two tables outside. A lot of outlets for those looking for a WFH spot! The desserts caught my eye RIGHT AWAY. They looked so fresh and smelled amazing: however I opted for a savory item. I ordered a fredo cappuccino & a Greek salad with chicken. My friend ordered one of their breakfast sandwiches. I received a sandwich by accident but once I made the guy behind the counter aware, he apologized immediately and stated I keep both items. I thought that was very kind of him, the environment itself was welcoming & I'll definitely be back! **THERE'S A BREAKFAST SPECIAL THAT IS PROMOTED ON THE SIGN OUTSIDE THE CAFE STATING A BACON EGG & CHEESE & A SM COFFEE = $6**

Sweet Bacon Crepe: I really enjoyed the sweet and savory combo from the fig jam, bacon, and mozzarella. The crepe was thin and tender. The wait for our crepe was a little over 10 minutes.

This spot is brand spanking new and super cute! Even though they are a bit on the tiny side, they have a TON of options to choose from. With delicious caffeinated beverages (I throughly enjoyed my chai tea latte and you KNOW how picky I am with my chai) to sandwiches and crepes. The person behind the counter was very patient with me and recommended the sweet bacon crepe. I much appreciated this suggestion as this was an amazing way to start the day and held me over while I waited for the person I was gonna go to meet. Again, the place is small, but there are spots to sit both inside and outside when weather permits. Downside is there are no restrooms to use. But don't let that stop you from checking out what delicious things they have in house.

    Cappuccino time!

I walked in one day to a cafe and found out my new crepe location. Wake Cup Astoria has crepes, sandwiches, bagels, and other delicious items. I could tell that they have all kind of delicious tarts, heros, and coffee options. So far, I have had their cappuccino. Strong, but different. I also had the opportunity to have their circular tart with apple inside...oh it's so good. In the window at the counter, they also have Greek pastries with many options inside like spinach, sausage, ham, cheese, etc. Also, there are a myriad of breakfast options: muffins, cheese danish, Nutella croissant, so many decisions to make here. I figured I could come back and try each one if I live to see more days ahead of me. I had to try a crepe. I decided on the sausage crepe with ham, cheese, mushrooms, pickles, and spicy mayo. It sounds like a strange combination, but I love to try new things. Food is never boring for me. And it did not disappoint. I ate this lovely crepe at Athens playground as the beautiful sun dried up all the raindrops earlier. Some things that I also had my eye on (well both my eyes on): bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, and also the salami sandwich (worth the heart attack!) and the cheesecake crepe(now that sounds...oooh mouthwatering!) Along the wall, I observed there are a ton of cold beverage options like sparkling water, bottled water, Snapple, and sodas. If you are Vegetarian, there's yogurt, fruit bowls, and healthy stuff like salads. Indeed, I stopped by one day to have the romaine, and it's light and delicious with its amazing olive oil citrusy dressing. Just simple. Tasty. Hit the spot. Bonus: I noticed they have two tables for outdoor dining and also an L shaped couch inside along with some chairs for indoor dine-in option as well. Bonus squared: The owner and cousin are super nice! They are friendly and greet you as you walk in! It's all good vibes!

Ate here today for lunch by myself during my lunch break while working full time and across the street as a teacher assistant at The 30th Avenue School (Q300). I had brought and ate the "wake cup" sandwich with a can of lemon seltzer. It was really good and delicious. The service there was also friendly, courteous and attentive that I didn't feel rushed about what to choose a sandwich to try for the first time. I couldn't agree more. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time! :)

Cute and cozy breakfast spot! This spot opened recently right near my apt and I've passed by a bunch. I finally decided to check it out and support! It was super clean and cute inside, simple cafe vibes. There's a small outdoor seating section as well. There is a large selection of drinks and menu items. I decided to get the BLT to keep it light and they told me it comes on a hero so I asked for it to be on a roll. I assumed that would change the price since it was listed as $6.50 with the hero but I was still charged the full amount :( It was yummy nevertheless but pretty steep for a standard BLT (it did also have a slice of cheese hmm). The couple? that worked the store was really nice and attentive. They seem eager and excited about the store!

To be honest I had no idea Wake Cup was even an establishment until randomly walking by a couple weeks ago. The inside aesthetic was extremely inviting so I figured why not pop in for a coffee and pastry. Ended up ordering the Coco Choco Crepe as it combined some of my favorite flavors - chocolate, hazelnut and coconut. The crepe was made right in front of us which adds to the experience. The crepe itself remained light and with enough weight to withstand the Nutella spread, coconut flakes and almonds. It certainly satisfied my sweet tooth for the time being.

A new Greek Crepe house comes to Astoria After living in Astoria for nearly 35 years, I am always skeptical when yet another coffee shop opens up in our area! We are over-saturated with too many of them. And I was even more surprised when I learned that it was a Greek crepe café that served sandwiches and a lot of pastries. About ten or so years ago, crepe cafes were popular in Astoria; almost all of them disappeared soon after that. So what was a Greek restaurant offering crepes? This model had failed before. And anyway, crepes are from France. So, I went to try out Wake Cup last month. The café is a little hard to find. If you walk down from the 30 Ave station, it is hidden by a bunch of commercial buildings, and they do not have a bright awning. Only the chalkboard that lists some of their crepes identifies their location from the outside. I've noticed that the low visibility in the awning placement tends to be the norm. The old Bellucci pizzeria has the same issue. What was I going to expect? The café has a few outdoor seating spaces but a lovely lounge with couches around the entrance. Though you get a paper menu, they offer breakfast sandwiches, muffins, bagels, Greek specialties, and their signature crepes. Indeed, there was so much to show that I needed some time. I finally decided to go with the cheesecake crepe, which essentially is and tastes like cheesecake on a crepe. The chef, waitress, and owner were all accommodating and had excellent teamwork and service. I briefly chatted with the owner for a few minutes. He was very nice

Two crepes, two people, sitting inside the restaurant. About 22 bucks total.

I thought I already left a review before, but I can't find it. But, these are the best crepes that I've had. Good size, good fillings, and good amount of fillings. Seating is good, it seems to be replaced with more comfortable seats. The owners are welcoming. I had one issue that they helped me resolve I've come alone and with my partner multiple times. I haven't had the coffee, but if it's anything like the crepes, it's likely good as well. I recommend coming for the crepes, at the minimum!

The restaurant felt homey and I could tell there were many regulars and other return visitors, for good reason! Ordered: Masala Chai ($4.50)- this tasted authentic, was nicely spiced, and wasn't too sweet. I only wish the cup was bigger. Steamed momo ($12+)- I like how you have the option to mix and match. We ordered the mixed vegetable and the oyster mushroom and surprisingly I much preferred the oyster mushroom variety. The mixed vegetable momo tasted more earthy to me. Himalayan rice set ($20.5)- this was a very nice assortment- there was rice, lentil dal, your protein of choice- (I chose beef brisket), stir fried cabbage, broccoli rabe, pickled vegetables and crisp flatbread. The only downside in my opinion was that the brisket wasn't too tender and I didn't love the beef flavoring or preparation. The rest of the items were so delicious! I've been thinking about this meal ever since I left the restaurant. You don't want to skip this place.

The empanada things were fine.

It can be a little confusing to find since it's a stand inside the market, not a separate store front. They carry a pretty wide variety of Asian flavor-inspired breads, pastries, cakes and cookies, including buns and some more dessert-type items. I checked out Progreso for an event this past weekend and ended up buying a few items to go: - matcha marble sponge cake $4.49: was fluffy, light and moist, good flavor of matcha and a light schmear of whipped cream in the middle. Would get this again! - taro cream puff $6.50: this was taro paste (? not sure if that's fully accurate though it felt more consistency of soft whipped taro than a traditional pastry cream) with whipped cream on top sandwiched by what I believe was choux pastry with craquelin. I think maybe because the this was sitting chilled/refrigerated for a while the top craquelin layer wasn't quite crispy anymore, though it looked nice. Personally it was a bit too much regular whipped cream, would've preferred more of a taro pastry cream. - mango pudding with fresh mango $6.50 mango flavor in the pudding was light though it was a nice tease of flavor. The texture was on the firmer side for puddings. The mangos were a bit oxidized though tasted ok, maybe glaze them or do something to maintain the color? Since this is a pretty new spot hope they could make a few improvements and blow it out of the park! I appreciated the owners' enthusiasm for sharing about their shop.

Me and my girl was looking for a coffee shop that was laptop friendly and closed late since we came after work. I was a bit disappointed that they did not serve any alcoholic beverages as I saw a lot of good reviews on that portion. We came, we sat down on a Saturday night. There was only one person at the front and it seemed she was also managing the serving part so it did get pretty hectic at some point. We decided to order the Budae Jigae (Hot Pot), there is no way to alter the spicy level so for those who love spicy spicy, this is for you. Me and my friend was really disturbed by the fact that we were treated some type of way. Maybe it's because we weren't Korean or? Service was slow asf. It took a really long time for them to serve me my iced strawberry matcha drink. And even longer for the food. It was also hard to tag her down, and she seemed pretty annoyed that we had to ask her for multiple items. We were a party of 2 and she only gave us one set of items. There was actually 3-4 people at the front but even then it was so hard to get someone to take my order, ask for napkins, for the check, etc. While there was no time limit on Saturday, there was a time limit of 1 hour and 30 minutes on Sunday. would I go again?
