I give them a rating of 4.5 stars, the food here is exceptional. I was informed that the establishment sources most of its ingredients in-house. I intend to return frequently, potentially making this location a regular breakfast destination. Notably, the woman behind the counter, Ellis, provided invaluable recommendations and comprehensive information regarding the menu and optimal times for visits.
This cafe is Astoria is a cute spot to catch up with a friend on a sunny weekend (which was exactly what I did haha). When I came at ~2pm on a Sunday, it was so busy and there were people sitting outside and inside. The cafe offers some breakfast food on top of their drink options. While I didn't get to try their food, my friend did and it looked amazing. I came wanting to try their pink chai but it was unfortunately out. So, I settled for their regular chai. Maybe it was because they were busy or something but I felt that their chai was very underwhelming. It tasted really watered down and sweet without any of the chai fragrance. Overall, while the vibe was great, I thought that their drinks were okay (or maybe I just had a miss).
I went to try the firni doughnut and the egg sammie sandwich, and both were pretty good! The firni doughnut has cardamom rose filling with sweet glaze and pistachio sprinkles on top which is pretty delicious! Definitely worth trying. I also enjoyed the egg sammie sandwich with bacon which was $4 extra. The sandwich was good, but it's on the pricier side. Worth checking out!
Came by this spot hearing it was one of Mamdanis favorite places. Although there was nothing out of the ordinary for their coffee for me their food was A+. We got the breakfast burrito (w/ lamb sausage) and short rib sandwich. Maybe regular NYs are used to this quality of food but I was blown away by the combinations of flavors. If I was forced to critique one thing I wish the bread for the sandwich came out more toasted (but it being wrapped for a to-go order I can understand). If I lived in Astoria this would def be one of my regular spots.
We came on the weekend and there was a line out the door. The line moved quickly, but it was a bit of a struggle to get a seat. We were able to get a table and wanted our food on plates, but they said they ran out of plates so they put the food in to go containers. The coffee and food was good, but the overall vibe was loud and chaotic because of the number of people standing around and waiting to order or waiting for their order. My friend did not like the matcha. Service was slow to get our food and then it also took awhile for us to get utensils.
Oh wow, this was our first time visiting this little gem. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Although I didn't get to try the guava pancakes, I heard the guava flavor was spot-on and didn't disappoint. The pancakes were light and fluffy, pairing perfectly with the maple syrup and whipped cream. I ordered the breakfast burrito, and it was hands down delicious. The tortilla was cooked to perfection - crispy on the outside with just the right amount of crunch. The combination of eggs, beans, and salsa was excellent, with each ingredient complementing the others. It was the savory breakfast with a little kick that I was craving. I also heard great things about the iced chocolate, and I was told it was just as delicious. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself is charming. It's easy to see why it's so popular - it stayed busy the entire time we were there. The only minor drawback is that it's a cozy space with limited seating. During the morning rush, guests waiting to order or pick up their food naturally spilled into the dining area, making it feel a bit crowded at times. We couldn't help but think how wonderful outdoor seating would be - it would make an already lovely spot even better. Overall, this place is definitely worth a visit. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, and it's conveniently located just a short walk from the N train at the 36th Avenue station.
This place is small on the inside, but it's amazing. The food was so good! My husband and I split the lumberjack breakfast and it was more than enough for two people. It came with pancakes, eggs, toast, hash browns, avocado, salsa.. I'm sure I'm forgetting some of the toppings. We also got an almond croissant and some sort of muffin cinnamon roll with a citrus flavor on the inside. This is absolutely a place to come back to!
Such a cozy little corner Cafe! I wanted a good breakfast and iced Americano, and ended up ordering the Breakfast Burrito with lamb sausage as well as Raspberry Danish. The burrito really gets elevated when you order it with some protein. The lamb sausage is halal and it is spiced up with delicious earthy flavors. It's worth getting even though it's an added $4. The Danish, however, is my real favorite. The Raspberry jam is delicious and there is soft, creamy cheese inside. The Danish is baked perfectly, balancing the fluffiness and chewiness. Space is tight and there are not too many tables and chairs, but if the weather is as nice as today, outside is just as pleasant as inside. I'll definitely come back to explore more of the menu. Finally, everyone is just so friendly here, it is quite comforting. It can be a little lively because of the small space but I was able to read through a script while having my breakfast just fine.
This is a really cute spot in Astoria. It gets super busy, and sometimes there's a line with barely any seating. Unfortunately, we were too late and missed their famous firni donuts -- inshallah next time The breakfast sandwich was delicious, and the chicken sandwich was perfectly balanced -- the gochujang and coleslaw worked so well together, and the bun-to-chicken ratio was on point. I also didn't expect the short rib sandwich to be as good as it was, but it really surprised me. The coffee was good. The pink tea though was just eh -- it tasted artificial, kind of perfumey, and overly sweet, not like real authentic Kashmiri chai. Overall though, I'd definitely go back.
Cute little spot with yummy food! My friend & I came on a Sat afternoon around 1:30pm and all the pastries we wanted to try were sold out, so def come earlier to get them! We ended up getting the short rib sandwich which was so good, the meat was really tender and flavorful. We also got the pink tea - it was a little on the sweeter side, but still really good and I'd get that again. Overall a great spot for a good quick bite - will def come back earlier to try to snag the firni donut!
Food/drinks: Tried pink tea (chai, cardamom, rose) and could adjust my sweetness which was nice! It's very sweet but yum. Will definitely come back for the food!! What a wonderful little spot with a BIG fan following! We stopped by for coffee and breakfast on a Friday, and were happy to see a line out the door (well deserved!). Their service is outstanding - everyone who works there is so kind. Their menu has a big variety including plenty of vegetarian-friendly options. Their coffee is great, and their avocado toast was one of the best I've ever had. My only regret is that I did not get a pastry too - they look insanely good. They have a decent amount of seating for their size, and it is first-come first-served. Absolutely worth the stop if you're in the area!
I ate here before and can't believe I haven't raved about it yet! This time I had a breakfast burrito. It was chock full of breakfast goodness and toasted to perfection. It was so big I couldn't even finish it. It had scrambled eggs, salsa, onions, cheese, tomatoes, all the breakfast goodness and I added bacon for a slight upcharge. Magnificent! They are cooking up everything fresh so there's a little wait but it's worth it . I've had the avocado toast before and it is the best! They don't skimp on anything here. And their coffee is delicious. They have tables inside or you can take it to go and sit in the park nearby. Super nice staff too!
We stopped in based on a recommendation and we were not disappointed. It is an all-day halal cafe. On a rainy Sunday morning and it was so crowded. There are only 5- 6 tables for 2 and the line was long. The pistachio donut was so good. It was filled with a pastry cream that had a bit of spice and floral flavor and topped with pistachios. We also had the chocolate croissant... so big, flaky and chocolatey. We split the breakfast burrito with Halal bacon and it was so good. It was stressful waiting for a table, but by the time our food arrived we were able to get a table and enjoy our breakfast. Would highly recommend. read more
Just moved to the other side of LIC, and my younger brother noticed this cafe not too far from me. We decided to check it out on a Sunday morning and I was not expecting a crowd of people here. Little flower is a small cafe, with limited seating. But the baked goods and breakfast sandwich caught our eyes, especially the halal bacon (beef bacon). I ended up getting a pistachio croissant, and an egg sandwich with the beef bacon. The bread is made in house and was delicious! They also gave a good amount of bacon. The croissant was out of this world good! The pistachio filling was so light , it was delicious. The dirty chai was good, but I have a feeling the pink drink is what I should have gotten. The service was amazing, they were quick and efficient, answered all my questions and gave great recommendations. But just a FYI, it's a bit pricey. Would I stop by again? For the baked goods, absolutely! read more

Cute neighborhood cafe in northern LIC/southern Astoria area. It can get super duper busy on weekends especially closer to noon. Some seating but I wouldn't really plan to find a seat if you're coming with more than 4 people. I did see a couple outlets, but not sure if they have WiFi. Service was kinda slow and seems like one of the cashiers/workers was new so he had trouble getting people the right orders. On a lazy Sunday though this was pretty easy to overlook. The oat milk latte was solid. The filled donut was good although I couldn't quite figure out what the flavors were meant to be. The cardamom croissant though was great. Sticky and sweet exterior with a fluffy/buttery/layered inside. Definitely would come back here as well for some of their more brunch items, too. Overall, a cute neighborhood bakery in an area kinda lacking on coffee shops imo. read more
This place is a gem in Astoria. The coffee is hand crafted and the lattes have a nice velvety foam. They have really awesome looking and tasting pastries with a middle eastern flair. They also have a small breakfast and lunch menu such as a breakfast burrito and and a burger. They also have seasonal pastries like a pumpkin spice donut that are not on the posted menu. The pastries are fresh and are on a pastry cart behind the register. I've only had the coffee and pastries, but am really looking forward to trying their gochujang hot chicken sammie and short rib sandwich. The atmosphere is a minimalist and industrial design. They are right on the corner with large windows on the south and west side so it is nice and bright. The barista we met on a weekend morning was really nice too. I've come here a few times and always seem at least half full so seating may be a bit difficult to find. They do have a few bistro tables and chairs outside. I also really liked their ceramic serve-ware W/R/F that is sleek and handmade. read more

Finally tried the breakfast burrito - immediately want to eat it again. Definitely get the halal bacon. There are plenty of options on the menu. Everyone working at Little Flower is super friendly. The interior is cozy despite the very modern/industrial? seating. The cafe is popular but the service is fast and seating seems to turn over at a decent pace. They allow laptops but don't provide wifi. They're still putting three cafe tables outside and the block gets enough sun that sitting outside is still doable in cold-ish weather. read more
Ate here today for lunch by myself while being a temporary substitute paraprofessional at P.S. 112 Q. I had tried and brought the firni donut with a side of ice cold cocoa drink to drink something cold and refreshing that it was sweet and delicious. The service there was also super quick and friendly. I couldn't agree more. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time! :) read more

I've come here for takeout and dine in. I've always had great drinks, food, and overall experience here! Inside gets so much sunlight and is very pretty and clean. I've worked there on my laptop once or twice and had a very productive time there (not sure if they have wifi , was too chicken to ask). People there are always nice and they don't rush you to order which is great for some indecisive people like me. I've had their pastries, savory treats, and drinks and have never had anything below "OMG I NEED YO SHARE THIS WITH MY PARTNER." So yeah they're REALLY good. They're not the cheapest place to go but the things they serve are well worth it. Definitely recommend to get a little treat for yourself. read more

Small-ish cafe with indoor and outdoors seatings. You order at the counter and they'll call your name to pick up the food and drinks and. We ordered the: 1. Short rib sandwich: so, so good. The short rib was tender, the arugula cuts through to help wilt the vinegar, which helps cut through the fattiness of the sandwich. 2. Breakfast burrito: my fiancé really enjoyed this one. It was slightly spicy and the pico de gallo added additional level of flavor and freshness to the burrito. For me, it was too much of the same texture, so I think adding the bacon might help with that. 3. Cortana and blood orange hibiscus tea: both good and standard drinks We'll definitely come back to try their other breakfast dishes including the fried chicken sandwich and guava pancakes. read more

The staff is super friendly, welcoming, and helpful when you want to order. We ordered 3 Gochujang sandwiches but we also ordered drinks. I got a cappuccino with oat milk and a mixture of rose and vanilla syrup (as recommended by the person who was working that day). Delicious. And my sister-in-law got the blood orange Hibiscus tea. Also delicious. Thoughts on the Gochujang sandwich: I thought it was perfect. My sister-in-law did too. Chicken wasn't dry; cooked perfectly. The slaw wasn't overwhelming and had just the right amount. Loved the pickles! And that potato bun was the cherry on top. My husband, on the other hand, didn't like it because it was too sweet for him. If he is eating something spicy, he doesn't want it to be sweet. So if you're like that too and/or you're unfamiliar with how Gochujang tastes then you'd also not like the sandwich. For me, I will definitely be back to try the soft egg sandwich, cardamom knot, and firni donut soon! read more

Came here after seeing a delicious-looking Yelp instagram post the day before! Sadly the cardamom custard donut that drew me in (and all the other donuts) were sold out by the time we arrived. I suggest you arrive early! It was packed when we got there and the line situation was a little confusing with the crowd. Coffee and egg sandwich were both good, but nothing that really stands out. read more

Ehhh I'm kind of disappointed. I was looking for a place for a quick breakfast today, and this place was in the suggested ones on Yelp. So I walked in thinking I'd get an avocado toast but I see that they're also offering pancakes. And I, being a great fan of pancakes, decided to get them. Oh boy, I asked if they had any fruit to accompany them but they said they have none. I get the pancakes and they have a funny smell. They looked very pretty (see picture), but I did not like the taste of the cream that is all over them. I had to scoop it out with a knife, it was smelling funny to me. Luckily the whipped cream on top made it a bit better, but I could not finish it because it was making me nauseous. The coffee had a fruity after taste and I could not figure out why. My boyfriend had an espresso and I had an iced coffee, but nope, both bad. He also had a scrambled eggs with bacon on a sandwich (I think) and he liked that. So, I'm putting three stars because he liked his food and the ambiance was tiny but cute, and probably I should have gone for the avocado toast I originally came for. read more
WOW! Their Cardamom Knot is incredible -- cardamom syrup on a croissant that somehow manages to stay crispy and flaky?? It was incredible, one of the best pastries I've had in New York. Will definitely be back to try their other food and pastries. read more

After waiting more than 15 minutes for my food to come out, I get home to find the bun from my egg sammie burned on both sides. Totally unacceptable! They saw the burned bread and were like, "Yeah that look good. Let's serve that to a customer." That's should tell everyone what they need to know about this place. read more

I came in a little after 1:30 on a Wednesday and was able to luckily snag a couple of pastries! I got the Firni donut, caramel apple Danish, and chocolate cherry cookie. The Firni donut had a sort of syrupy glaze with what looked like chopped pistachios on top and a cardamom cream inside. This was my first time trying cardamom and it was really interesting, I've never had anything that was so spiced but also sweet. It was really good and so were all the other pastries. A first-rate breakfast burrito (halal bacon highly recommended), and even better coffee! I can't wait to try their other offerings, including their pastries, which appear to be legendary. Keeping some salsa/hot sauce out, or maybe including it with the burrito, would be my only suggestion. I understand this place gets jammed on the weekends, so I'd say go earlier in the week, as I did, if you want no wait and a chance at a seat in the small space. Little Flower is a pretty standard cafe with good drink options and food choices ranging from sandwiches/burritos/toasts to donuts/croissants/latte drinks. The food is sorta pricey for a cafe (we got 2 egg, cheese, bacon-like sandwiches and 2 drinks to share) and our bill was about $45. The interior is kinda small and gets crowded on weekends, and people tend to study/work here on their laptops. Wish there was more space and corners to sit and hang... although you can also opt for the outside when the weather is nice as they have tables and chairs outdoors. Overall, nothing too fancy that sticks out about this cafe, but still very nice to have in the neighborhood! read more

One hell of an experience. Came a long time way to try this new afghan cafe/dessert spot and it was WORTH EVERY MILE. I got the firni donut which was out of this world. The sprinkling of crushed pistachio on top was chef's kiss! Also got the cadomom Knot and it was also stellar. Cardamom is a very underrated ingredient. The staff was also really pleasant. Met the owner, Ali, and he was as a gem. Place was clean and in a quiet neighborhood. read more
Literally the best donut I've ever had in my life and I've had manyyyyy amazing donuts. This one by far was like nothing I've ever had before. The dough was so impossibly pillow soft I was stunned. I don't know what sorcery or techniques they'd employing to make it that fluffy but DAMN. The Firni flavor is so SPOT on and the donut is drenched in sugar syrup. It's so sticky and messy but IT IS HEAVEN. The chicken sandwich was really flavorful and enjoyable as well but it was so small for the price and on its own really not filling at all. The quality is evidently there but I wish the sandwich was bigger to account for the high cost. Or at least throw in a side of fries or something in that price. After having that delectable donut I really wanna try their other baked goods. Also during Ramadan they had incredible Afghan specials in the evenings but I didn't get to go SO PLEASE BRING THEM BACK???? I desperately wanna try some authentic afghan cuisine. Came across this coffee shop while in the area. The shop is small however it does have a nice vibe to it. The lattes are great and they have a good selection of breakfast options as well as croissants and danishes. When enter you would order at the counter and if you are lucky enough you can find a seat. I've been here twice and had no problem finding seating. They also have additional seating outside as well. I've had the breakfast burrito and the soft scramble egg Sammi which is basically bacon egg and cheese. The food is great however is a little pricey but not too bad based on the area. They are dog friendly so that's a huge plus in my books. The shop is super clean, especially the rest room! Good job Little flowers! read more

Tl;dr: * Perfect Cortado according to ME. * Viennoiserie is legitimately special by the standards of Planet Earth (also yay cardamom!) * Seats & tables, not just countertop. * Orders "to stay" are served on attractive ceramics and not disposables And then I wrote more than Yelp's character limit allows so I deleted all of it. conclusion: Worth anybody's time if you like Cafe-type foods and drinks and viennoiserie. Will be back to try everything on the menu and work up courage to chat up proprietors about their entire life stories and how they came to be so good at what they do. read more
I came to know about this place from an Instagram reel awhile back and saw that the aesthetics looked really nice (being a halal spot was a plus) so I had it on my list of go to spots. It just so happened that Astoria was a pit stop from home and I came here to try out their food. At first glance , it's an inviting area for couples and families, with outdoor and indoor seating . As you walk in , the place is indeed aesthetically pleasing and overall has a good vibe but as visually pleasing as it is, the prices will definitely coincide. I was w mah bro and we decided to split a sandwich and have coffee. The short rib looked appealing and an iced coffee was my go to. My bro ordered a rose cardamom (I think) latte and we chilled outside . When the sandwich was ready, at first glance it looked pretty weak (for $16). We managed to finish the sandwich before we finished our drinks so had our coffees to go. Overall , I see what this place was doing , from the rustically appearing dishes the food and beverages were served in (my glass had the modern-retro elements with vintage appeal) and the whole feel of the place gave it that Manhattan/ Santa Monica vibe except...it was in Astoria. I can understand if the portion sizes coincided with the price (like Urth Caffe, bang for your buck, the vibe and people included) then I wouldn't mind paying $30 for 2 coffees and a sandwich , but if I can make it better at barely half the cost then I can't get that sense of satisfaction. This place makes for a great date spot, a place to chill, have a great conversation and under those premises, I'd recommend to go here. If you're hungry and want to eat, then go elsewhere and come here for dessert and coffee. The service was great overall and everything is self serve (would be nice for them to run the food out to us). Under different premises, I would have liked to come here but for a first impression it fell short, for me (plus it would have been great if they topped my iced coffee for the long drive home) but everyone's different and I would still recommend this place for coffee and dessert . Just don't come here hungry. read more
