    Dam burger with tots

This is definitely a nice stop. Although we didn't stay at the cabins they look lovely with their log siding and nice green area. The restaurant is a bonus. It has a lovely patio but we opted to sit indoors as it was sprinkling a bit. Rustic and clean with lots of tables plus a bar. The server was very nice but very soft-spoken so we had to ask her to repeat herself often. We were impressed with their menu and selected the salmon dip appetizer which was really yummy! They lightly fry the pita wedges so they are buttery good. We had the Melvin's Killer Bees lager which was cold and refreshing. I opted for the Duck breast and the Hubbs had the Dam burger. It was decent and cooked nicely. The duck breast was good but the peach topping was more of a sweet bbq sauce than a glaze. The mashed potatoes and grilled veggies were good. The salad was ice cold and crisp. We couldn't resist buttermilk pie for dessert. We definitely want to come back for breakfast.

The Little Moose Lodge & Restaurant in Irwin Idaho (population 198) is one of those gems that is absolutely darling. Nestled in Targhee National Forest and next to Palisades reservoir. So ya just kinda know its gorgeous scenery will take you to a simpler time . Who doesn't need some of that these days. Lil' Moose is a destination not just a stop off! Their cabin style rooms are cute as a button, very clean and fresh and steps away from every outdoor experience you'd want in a mountain vacation. The restaurant and bar has this very cool down to earth vibe and the locals and staff are beyond friendly, inviting one might even say ;) The menus great, their BBQ is stuff of local folk lore!!!

Poorly cooked steak with overly sweet bbq sauce and dry "garlic" mashed potatoes
    Ashley Jo W.

The little place is nice and homey feeling. I wanted to love it from the reviews I saw, but I left feeling ill. My "medium" steak was almost raw and covered with a sweet, sticky bbq sauce. To me, a steak should be flavorful on its own with light seasoning- no sauce needed. The inside of my steak was almost cold and I couldn't eat anymore of it. The "garlic" mashed potatoes were dry and had no flavor too. I also ordered no onions in my food, and it came out with purple onions in the veggies. They said they couldn't separate them because they were pre-made. I was hoping for fresh, local food and left feeling sick to my stomach and unsatisfied. On the other hand, I ordered the wings and they were crunchy and had great flavor. I loved the sauce, and I was able to get two different flavors. My friend had the smoked duck and it was flavorful. The skin was a little burned. She liked the potatoes with the sauce from the duck and enjoyed her veggies. The sauce was flavorful and married well with the duck. I can only recommend wings. I don't feel well, but I contribute that to the poorly cooked steak.

On a recommendation from our RV Hoast, Bobbi, we went and tried this newly opened eatery and man o man am I glad we did. The Little Moose restaurant was a great spot. The ambiance was very outdoor and the people we met who work here were amazing! Our server, Marcy, was one of the nicest people we have met on our trip so far. The lady tending bar and also serving was Karlie who also was a very sweet lady and very helpful. The pictures will show you the inside and the outside seating. We were one of the first people to get here for dinner but soon after the floodgates opened and the place filled up. No wonder, the food was hot and tasted great!! We both had the Louisiana soup. It was hot and full of flavor. We shared the fish and chips and this is the first place where I didn't have to send any of my food back because it was cold. We got 3 large pieces of fish with fries and coleslaw. Plenty of food for sharing. We also shared the cheesecake for desert. That was good also. I pray this place does well and a lot more people besides the locals stop in. Great stuff here y'all. They made Ed's top 10 spots to eat while on our 6 month tour of the country. I told the ladies to contact YELP and get a sticker for their front door. Now that I'm the first to review this great spot I hope more of my YELP crew will find their way here and review it.

Superb service! Excellent and very tasty food! This place obviously takes pride in their establishment. When I saw the barbecues on the side of the building were clean and well loved, I knew we had to stop and give it a try. Visiting The Palisades Reservoir/lake near Alpine, WY? Take the short drive to the town of Irwin, ID. You won't be disappointed!

We were there at 10 AM on a Monday after a holiday weekend and got sat right away. However, the weekend (when the friend group went without me) had a 2.5 hour dining experience, because everything is made in house, so there's no reheating, microwaving, etc. Things move a bit slower. I appreciate that. They warn you food may come out at varying times, but ours was pretty timely. Service was kind and warm. My Italian egg sandwich was flavorful, especially the pesto and the bread. Do yourself a favor and order the orange juice. Whether it's for a mimosa or by itself IT'S AMAZING. It does have pulp, but I am a pulp apologist, so I don't care. Restaurant is in a cute house painted the color of....you guessed it....butter. Happy to return next 4th of July!

We took the brown butter monkey bread with us to go and even though it wasn't warm when we ate it, it was still very tasty. Prices were as expected and service was amazing. Highly recommend.

This was probably the best meal we had while visiting Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks…read more We had a day to explore the area and Grok (of all things/places) recommended visiting Victor and Driggs for the day. Kids had chicken tenders and the steak and fries. Both kids enjoyed their meal. The chicken tenders were huge and kid got 3 of them. The steak was about 5oz, which was a decent size for the kid. It came pre-cut, so the kiddo didn't have to handle a huge steak knife to cut it--which was nice. Both came with a generous serving of golden French fries. Fresh cut or frozen, these fries were good! Either a second ramekin of ketchup or a larger one is definitely needed for the amount of fries served. I had the burger. It wasn't fancy--just cheese, lettuce, tomato, and onions--but it was a thick patty with fluffy bun with lots of flavor. It also came with a ton of golden fries. My mom had the BLT that didn't skimp on the pork belly. I wish the stores sold thick cut bacon like that. She said it was delicious. Hubby had the lobster roll. The kids brought the purple potato chips were the neatest thing (they were good, too). The lobster roll was perfectly dressed--not too much and not too skimpy--and tasted surprisingly fresh. This place is a little more upscale than some of the other places we've eaten at this week. We were welcomed as we were--shorts and tees. Other guests were dressed casually, not overly fancy. The adjacent museum was a cool place to visit, too. It housed 3 restored Navy planes that were neat to see. Since we're headed home tomorrow, we won't be back, but if we were staying longer, we'd make the ~hour long drive just to eat there again!

However, our food experience was also mixed. We shared a soup du jour (potato bacon broth based) which was awesome. Parmesan fries app came as a generous portion and were pretty good as was our elderberry mocktail. The big disappoint was the tandoori chicken which the waitress recommended but we found to be very dry. It was described on the menu as having a yogurt marinate, which was already mixed into the dish, but we couldn't really taste it. The tabouli/rice that came with it was also dry and didn't have much taste. The waitress was nice and tried to get more sauce but when she couldn't, she brought olive oil and vinegar which was ok but at that point I would have just liked something different as it was pretty mediocre. Forage is a nice restaurant with some nice options but you should expect to spend a fair amount. I would expect the fine dining experience quality to match the price, but we had enough good food here that I would come back to try something different.

I perused the merch and the pastry case. I love that they call muffins "cupcakes", because really they are. I settled on ordering a hot almond milk latte and a drip coffee for my hubby. I know this is mountain town and things aren't as rushed as they are in the city, so I intended to wait. However, it took a good 3-4nin of me standing alone at the counter before anyone acknowledged me to take my order. After ordering I took a seat outside to wait for my latte. I waited, and waited. Thinking they called my name and I missed it, I headed indoors to check. Nope. They were finally calling the name of the couple who was seated outside when I arrived! Four or five minutes later they called the woman who was in line before me. There was another girl who walked in after me and was pacing, she finally asked about her mobile order she had placed 20min prior, they had no record of it, so they began making hers. I waited some more. When my latte was FINALLY ready it was placed on a counter & my name called. No "sorry for the wait". I grabbed it and booted out the door so we could get on the road. The drip coffee & latte were fine, but definitely not worth the wait. With so many other coffee shops steps away, we opted to visit the others for the remainder if our trip.
