Service was fine as you place your order and they call you when it's ready. One of our orders I guess was running a little late and they brought it out to us which was nice. As mentioned this place was BUSY so it was a bit hectic and seemed they were having trouble keeping things clean and organized. There was a bar in the corner that seemed to be used for storage rather than as a bar since it was stacked with boxes and things.

When we got our food, my burger was only luke warm (and my onion rings, too). I ordered it medium rare and this was the first time it was almost medium, and not any all juicy. Since I paid an extra $3.50 for my onion rings I was very disappointed. Only plus is they were nice and crunchy. Hubby's burger and fries were hot, so my order must have been made first and then just sat there for a while. Hubby was happy with his meal since it was hot and cooked medium as he ordered. Not happy. First time I gave them only three stars.

Look for the orange food truck across from Boston's Pizza along Kam Highway, you can't miss it. We got there about 1pm on a Monday and placed our orders right away. Everything is made to order so there is a bit of a wait, about 10 minutes. There are about 7 picnic tables and 4 shaded areas to eat. I was also surprised that there were quite a few Japanese tourists venturing out this side for Shay's. Their menu is simple, with 3 types of burgers and fries. We ordered the All American, Fun Guy, and Krazy Fries. I like how the burgers did not taste greasy but still had flavor. They also give disposable gloves if you're not a fan of getting your hands dirty. Will be back again next time I have a burger craving.

He said the crazy fries were good. He liked the sauce. He enjoyed the burger too! Service was fast and cooked to order. Lots of parking but parking is in a lot. We came before and now they have renovated the area with another truck vendor and seats with umbrellas to sit and enjoy your food. However, we are in the car because the heat was too much for us LOL! Will definitely come back for another chest diet meal!

Opened in 1947, the Forty Niner offers a selection of local fairs like saimin , loco moco, furikake salmon, taro sweetbread French toast and hamburgers for the less adventurous. The service is mixed - place your order at the front counter and wait at a table for service. But, the staff is wonderful. Ambiance? The Forty Niner is in a small building that has about 7 or 8 tables inside and a few more on the back patio. It has a simple, local atmosphere. I would say that Forty Niner is a great place to get the bang for your buck in terms of pricing for their food, but I will say that the quality of the food isn't as great as it's presented on their ordering site, Beluga. Today, my husband and I chose to do takeout and ordered three things: The Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, Chorizo Hash, and the Molokai Loco Moco. For the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, the lemon taste was pretty concentrated in the middle of the pancake/not well distributed and we couldn't really taste the ricotta flavor, but it was pleasantly sweet (not too sweet). For the Chorizo Hash, I was a little bit sad that it wasn't very flavorful and the Chorizo wasn't well cooked. The Molokai Loco Moco's flavor receives the same review as the Chorizo Hash; although it was special/the first time we'd had Loco Moco like that, it was pretty soggy/watery and lacked flavor. The food itself in my opinion gets a 3.5/5, but because they were timely and friendly as a staff, I'm bumping our review up to a 4! P.S: This location is in the corner of a neighborhood street and Kam Hwy and the parking is pretty small/limited!

It wasn't overly messy either. The fries are fresh from potatoes, so they had a lot of airy crunchy ones, which are my favorite. Anyways, I like this location a lot more than the Kapolei location because it's bigger and it's not white light reflecting off white light, much easier on the eyes. I took off two stars because I ordered the same grilled cheese that I did the day before, had a great experience and it was night and day this time around. The one I had in Kapolei was able to melt the cheese, but this one didn't even seem like they tried...so I asked if they could make it again. Understandably, when I asked if they could make it again, they asked what was wrong and I told them the cheese wasn't melted, which sets my expectations for the next one. They made another one (begrudgingly) and I got the same results as far as the cheese. But at least this one was warm so more heat did hit the cheese, but just not enough to melt it per my request. Other than my sad grilled cheese (that wasn't grilled) the fries were great and my friends who got actual burgers were very happy with their food.

But our second time was a mellow Wednesday for lunch and while the timing was better (still not synced), the food was either meh or completely shameful. Yes, shameful! Wife got the Caesar salad with char siu chicken katsu. The chicken was ono but the salad was lazy. Basic greens with a low-quality bottled sauce squeezed on top. No wonder it came out five minutes before mine. I got the fish tacos with tots (extra $2), and this dish was the most egregious rip off I've ever seen in a restaurant. No wonder the server dropped it and ran. For $18, I got three street taco-sized flour tortillas, goopy mayo-laden "slaw", and pico with a teeny tiny piece of fish on top. See the pics! Smaller than my thumb. Barely two tater tots in size. And because it was plopped into mayo slaw, it was soggy on arrival. The fish was also suspiciously fishy tasting. I debated eating it. I ended up making one taco with all the fish and a potato taco with some tots before finally giving up. I know things are tough for restaurants right now. But this was ridiculous. I paid and left and called it a lesson learned. I'll likely stick to the Pucks Alley location from now on. Still some pride in what they serve there.

Reasonably priced and extremely popular. The chicken was fried in bite sizes with a crispy coating and hints of Chinese 5 spice. It was served on a bit of cabbage with fried basil. Great flavors with a crunchy texture. The joong or zong zhi was mochi rice with pork and preserved egg. If you were looking for home style sticky rice, you got it here with a bit of a light sauce. The preserved egg brings back memories of Popo's kitchen/ your childhood. We tried Taiwan tofu pudding for dessert. You should order it even if you order nothing else. Perfect for two. Silky tofu in a slightly sweet sauce with shaved ice, boba and peanuts combine for a perfect dessert. Not heavy and just sweet enough to tempt a non-dessert person.
