You order via a tablet which is very convenient. Skewers came out pretty fast. We ordered 80 skewers for about $60. The skewers are very skinny FYI. Many of the skewers were barely warm when served. Makes me think it's pre cooked and just warmed up. Would not recommend the chicken skin skewer, grilled oyster, squid, and lamb were good. Overall it was just ok. Tried & loved cucumber salad, beef skewers, premium lamb skewer, bread, grilled enoki mushrooms, grilled oysters & grilled scallop. The skewers come out already cooked but keep warm. You order via iPad & can customize with cumin or spice. This modern chain is known for its cute traditional decor & fast service. We were thinking about yakitori, but since the San Gabriel Valley has very few yakitori restaurants, we went to Little Skewer and had Chinese barbecue instead. Loved it! The beer was cold, the skewers came out fast and the choices were abundant. I especially liked the corn skewers with each colonel threaded as well as the pork intestine, which was nice and crunchy. The stinky tofu seemed to be quite popular that night I really like the old Tavern atmosphere and wished more restaurants would adopt that style. Definitely going back. read more

New location! This place needs no introduction as this place has other locations and is already a great place to go! Highly recommend trying an order of all their skewers, and the cucumber appetizer is a must try. The menu is a bit slimmed down compared to the Monterey Park location, but they still offer a majority of the items. The only reason I give 4-Stars is because they were a bit disorganized: the pot of water we got when we sat down was empty (and possibly from the previous table), they never gave us a menu until asked, and when the skewers came, items or requests were delayed, and they forgot to light the candles to warm up the little grill. Definitely 5/5 for ambiance and 5/5 food selection. This place looks fantastic with the humorous decor reminiscent of street night markets in old China. Food is 4/5, the lamb skewers truly are "mini".. I don't think I've ever seen such a small amount of meat on a skewer, but because the meat was tough I'm glad it was small because it was still easy enough to bite off and chew. The Ambiance: The restaurant has an ethnic Chinese vibe, which is nice, but it's pretty dark inside--even during the day. It might work better for a cozy dinner, but for a lunchtime visit, it felt a little too dim. Service: This was probably the biggest letdown. The staff seemed new and not very well-trained yet, which made service pretty slow. Our skewers took a long time to come out, and it felt like they were still figuring things out. Hopefully, this improves as they settle in. Food:We started with the cucumber salad, which was actually quite good--fresh and well-seasoned. But the skewers were hit-or-miss: - Beef skewer- tough, way too skinny, and hard to chew. - Chicken skewer- just okay, nothing special. - Pork belly skewer- not bad, had a decent texture. - Chicken skin skewer- crispy, which I liked, but the long wait kind of took away from the experience. I get that they're new, so I'm willing to give them some time to improve, but right now, the slow service and inconsistent food quality make it hard to fully enjoy the meal. Found my new favorite skewers place!!! Their chicken gristles are highly addictive -- the perfect balance of spice, sweetness, and savory. You can customize to make items non-spicy. Prices are fair. Service was really friendly and attentive. The foods came out quickly and hot, glistening with juices. You order on an iPad and they bring hot skewers out to you, ready to eat. No need to sit in front of a hot charcoal grill, waiting for the meats to cook. There's a button for service if you need it. Lovely interior, love the traditional vibes. We first went to Little Skewers during their soft opening on March 13th. I love the ambiance and how much it reminds me of a cleaner version of late night Chinese street food. Naturally, I was really excited. The food tasted good, flavor wasn't bad--but the portions were really small compared to the price we paid. The rest of the food was great, got full after a little over an hour, but the ambiance and decor were so nice , we just hung out there this evening for over 4 hours. The pork was 20 per order, beef was 12 per order, lamb was 1 per order, and chicken gristle 10 per order. The service was overall good. Brought our orders out in a timely manner and did not lag on bringing out the drinks right after we placed the order. The interior of the restaurant was really nice. This was a fun concept for my family. The food was fun, tasty and convenient. The overall experience was just ok though. The teens thought the concept fun and entertaining. Said the food was good but not great. The teens thought there was more waste at the end vs food. There are a lot of skewers used. Like mostly skewer with a tiny bit of food. We were hoping there is a gigantic compost bin benefitting from all the skewers and organic scraps at the end of the day. The teens thought it very expensive for what you get. There was a live singer that night who was a little karaoke and VERY loud (even my teens thought it too loud). For the same price they'd rather go back to Korean BBQ. For the same food, they'd rather go to a night market stall. Fun to try once (and we did have fun!) but not worth the price. Oh, I forgot to add, the iPad that we had to use to order was sticky like a dirty menu. Kinda gross since we're mostly eating with our fingers and there's no sanitizer around. And the bill comes with tip suggestions, but if you're ordering from an iPad and have to press a button for service, why tip for service when there really isn't any? Ordering is done via an iPad system, and the food came out impressively fast, making the whole experience feel seamless and efficient. I ordered a generous spread for five of us, with the total coming to just over $175 -- not bad considering how much we tried! We sampled a variety of skewers and small plates: beef, chicken skin, lamb, squid legs, corn, pork belly, peanuts, surf clam, plus a few cold dishes to balance the heat. We opted for the regular seasoning, which had a satisfying kick and a bold Sichuan chili flavor -- fragrant, spicy, and addictive. They also offer no cumin and extra spicy options. The seasoning was solid, but the beef skewers were a bit underwhelming in portion size -- could definitely use a more generous cut.
