The service department at Dublin (they service both Hyundai and Genesis) is far below expectations. They are crammed with customer demands and cannot provide good service. We had our vehicle there over a month in total. They said it was fixed, and it was not. Had to return it. The communication was practically non-existent. We could not get an update. We had to call the manufacturer. They supposedly have a communication system, but our manufacturing rep had to wait sometimes over a week before the dealership in Dublin responded. And then the response was vague and useless. After finally getting the vehicle back, they said the technology department had to "fine-tune" the software. We then noticed a crack in the inner lift/hatch area. See picture. They refused to take care of it. It has been weeks since we have had the car, and the technology department has still not performed their job. In addition, we received notice that a recall is coming regarding the gas tank. The defect could cause an engine fire. Currently, they don't know how to repair it. This service department is terrible, and it is incredibly frustrating to work with them. If you are seeking a luxury vehicle and expect a reliable vehicle with dependable service, you will most likely be very disappointed. Buy a Lexus.

I bought a used 530i and I noticed the lane assist camera wasn't functioning, we all thought it just needed a calibration and I was informed it would be taken care of at no cost. Once Everardo got it, he discovered it was because the windshield had been replaced at some point by a non oem windshield, and that was the problem. Obviously it's a lot more expensive for the dealership to cover an oe windshield replacement when compared to a camera calibration. I signed for the car as is, they could've totally screwed me if they wanted to, but that's not East Bay BMW's style, they told me that it would work and they made good on their promise, even though it was more work than anticipated. Legally speaking, they didn't have to do that, and most dealerships would've taken the opportunity to make some money there. I'm blown away by such honest business in this day and age, it's so uncommon, especially when dealing with larger companies. But these guys are awesome. And to top it off everyone is hella chill, friendly, and fun, but still professional over there. Salute!

But no one bothered to show me the car. Or any car. What I am upset is that you saw I was wearing a wedding ring and asked me if all my decision makers are here. Like I need my husband's permission to buy a car (I managed to buy the last 2 without help). I doubt you would have asked my husband that if he was at the dealership. Instead I finally talked to a woman (my service advisor) who finally cared enough to grab keys to show me the inside of a car because the men just chose to dismiss me. It wasn't even her job guys! Jeremias called me at 11:55 AM and through his manager Sammy we negotiated an out the door price. I made an appointment to pick up the car at 3:00 PM giving myself time to get a cashiers check for the purchase and drive down to the dealership to buy the car. Jeremias confirmed my appointment and said he would have the car detailed and ready to be picked up for when I arrived. I was able to expedite securing the funds to purchase the car and called Jeremias at 12:45 to let him know I was 10 minutes away. To my surprise he mentioned that the car I was buying was on a test drive and that he wasn't sure it would be available. To say the least, I was shocked to hear a car that I was 10 minutes from picking up and had secured an agreement to buy was now possibly no longer available. I showed up to Dublin Volvo and met Jeremias to explain why the car I was buying was out on a test drive. He stated that it was out of his hands and that there was nothing he could do. I was frustrated with the situation and returned back to work and asking Jeremias to call me once the "test drive" was done. Well no call from Jeremias so I decided to go back to Dublin Volvo and inquire about the car I was purchasing. Upon arrival I asked to speak with Sammy who said, "I'm sorry we sold the car to someone else". I reiterated to Sammy that I had made an agreement with Jeremias to buy the car and had made an appointment to purchase the vehicle, I just needed time to get a cashiers check. Sammy continued to say that they are a first come first serve dealership and that no agreement even when negotiating an OTD price is final. I asked if that was the case why didn't Jeremias ask me to make a put down a holding deposit and Sammy stated that they don't take deposits on vehicles they have on the lot. I'm incredibly shocked by this whole experience and can't believe that Volvo Dublin chose to treat a customer this way. Their business practices are very unethical and don't have the customers best interests at hand. Think twice before choosing Dublin Volvo!

In addition to the above-and-beyond service from Gerardo, I want to mention that the Finance Director, Alex Pugliese, made the administrative part feel transparent and safe. In addition, the delivery process was not clearly communicated. I expected the vehicle to be transported on a tow truck, but instead it was driven approximately 70 to my home without anyone discussing that option with me beforehand or asking for my preference. Overall, I felt there was very little guidance or communication throughout the buying process. I expected a higher level of professionalism, transparency, and customer care from a Cadillac dealership, especially when purchasing a luxury vehicle.

I ended up paying $5000 to have the body work redone and just paid another $3000 to replace the electric control system and batteries that were destroyed by water damage from the shoddy repair job. Unfortunately Hertz went through bankruptcy so I was unable to sue. You will never find Hertz accident damage on a carfax report because Hertz has everything fixed in-house or by a shop that doesn't report the claim. Beware the high cost of the low price.
