A bad review I wish I didn't have to write. I bought a Forester in 2014 and my rep was great, she made sure we drove everything and answered all our questions, the actual sale was easy and simple. I bought the service pack and each time I've brought my Forester in for service everything has been smooth. However I just purchased an Outback a week ago, and I didn't go through Livermore my service was so bad. 9 months ago I was in the market for a sedan, I drove my Forester in with the Livermore Subaru license plate covers still on it, I didn't expect a ticker-tape parade for it but I thought it would grant me a warm reception. The salesman my wife and I got looked bothered we came in. He begrudgingly gave us a test drive in a Legacy and gave the 2 of us a 5 minute test drive between the two of us to drive it so I got to drive it for about 45 seconds. The salesman didn't say a word through the whole test drive and left immediately after we got back. I didn't buy anything 9 months ago and was back in the market for an Outback a week ago. I was talking to a rep through email and it would take days to get responses back. My wife went in and was given a 3.6L Outback even though the rep knew we were in the market for a 2.5L. Then the rep couldn't find an Outback with any gas so she got to test drive one for 2 minutes, tops, no exaggeration. It's disappointing how downhill my experience has gone. read more

Please do not waste your time here. I bought a Crosstrek at the Subaru Livermore dealership in early August and was supposed to leave with two keys (standard). The staff had misplaced one and said they would ship to me within days. Fast forward almost three months and not only have I not received my key, I have called consistently and have been ignored or blown off by the staff, including the Sales Manager. DO NOT buy your car here - you will not feel like a valued customer and will get blown off by the staff if you need help or have any issues with your vehicle. I can't stress enough how frustrating my experience has been and wouldn't want anyone else to go through this after making such a significant purchase. read more

I haven't bought my car yet but I wanted to say that the staff here should be a model of how to treat customers. Thoughtful, quiet when I was thinking, efficient and knowledgeable. I was working with Jessica, smart, helpful and knows when to give you time. I'm still getting internet offers from other local dealers but Livermore Subaru earns five stars for their approach to me and my questions. Cassie gave near instant response to my querys and showed a quiet competence that is a bit rarer than it should be as well. A tiny thing, but I'm just getting over a cold, came in sniffling and stuff while we discussed my requests. Jessica jumped up and in a moment she had cough drops for me (Thanks!) and I was won over. I might be willing to spend a bit more to have this place as my dealer. Other Subaru dealers, when making online quotes often leave out critical information on the exact car they are selling...repeated attempts to get the "window sticker" information leads down a rabbit hole for some dealers and Livermore simply showed how it was done. I know this doesn't help the buyer looking for the lowest price but I'm old enough to see the value of the kind of service Livermore Subaru showed me on this visit. read more

I called three times, all well after 9:00, when they open. I got put on hold for over ten minutes, then hung up on. I called a different number, put on hold, and got hung up on again. I then tried Parts/Service but got the same ditz that had put me on auto-hang up the last two times. I tried to ask if I should call back later but she kept talking over me, and then hung up a third time. At least she hung up by hand the third time. This was about a truck that was listed on the Edmunds.com site for them but I can't find on the Livermore Subaru site. The ad I found had a stock photo and all I wanted at first was to see a real photo before I wasted a trip there. All around; I'd give them a zero if I could. read more

We just recently bought a vehicle from here. Our service guy who helped us through the whole process was great. After test driving and thinking for a bit, we remained in contact with Josh, and it was a smooth process. The issue, however, arose with their service department. For some reason, even with an appointment, I had to wait more than an hour from my appointment time to get seen. I was given the excuse that they just were backed from the morning. At first, I believed them, but as I reached out to them today, on a Monday morning, I've been led to voicemail several times. No one picks up the phone, reception sucks, and I'm so aggravated that I want to return the vehicle. Why don't you guys take a lesson from Toyota and hire more than 2 people for your service department? If your service sucks, people won't want to buy another vehicle from you ever again. All I know is despite the nice car the Subaru Forester is, I will never buy from this dealership ever again. Better your service by hiring more and better customer service reps rather than spending money on Yelp Premium to inflate your stars. read more

I don't wish to be writing this, I presume nobody enjoys writing about a negative experience, but I can't leave my glowing 1st review without being forthcoming about my last experience. I went back to buy another Subaru recently. William is no longer in sales, he works finance, but assisted this time. I'll cut to the chase. They either lied, or at minimum, misinformed me on the same question, not once, twice, but three times. Because I still felt uneasy, I went straight to Subaru for my answer and got it, Livermore was incorrect. The manager, Kevin, came across a little cocky, rather than humble and apologetic. He agreed to adjust the price accordingly, but then said "you know, I don't have to do this, I could easily sell the car to someone else". This maybe true, but you don't say that to a client you're trying to keep. Then, they couldn't install an accessory I purchased, (and they should KNOW this stuff beforehand), so I opted to exchange it for a different accessory. They wanted to up-charge me about $250, when the cost should've been the same if not less. There were other little incidents, but these 4 were the primary reason I had to walk away. Misinformed on an important feature, Managers attitude, lack of knowledge and greed. BTW, I got a much better deal at Sacramento Subaru and the accessories were priced WAY less than Livermore. That's 2 Subarus in 1 year and another to potentially follow next year. Such a bummer Livermore went from one extreme to the other :( read more

I just recently purchased a 2013 Outback from Livermore Subaru and couldn't be happier. I used my bank's car buying service and paid the exact price I was expecting, no haggling or heartburn. I'm sorry, but I don't remember the names of the folks I dealt with but they were all very professional and helpful... with one glaring exception... Even though I was paying cash, I needed to talk to the finance guy for a few minutes and overheard him being rather rude to another customer. He wasn't rude to me but several days after I paid for, and picked up my car, I got a call (I believe it was from the finance guy) and he said something to the effect that I might want to think about paying for the car. What the hell? He was talking to me like I stole the darn car. That phone call is the only reason I didn't give a 5 star rating. read more

I recently purchased a Subaru Impreza from Livermore Subaru (5/18/13) and I am so happy that I had such a great experience. I'd heard so many horror stories about car sales from my friends and peers and my experience here was nothing like that. I was fortunate enough to work with Wayne all the way through. I came in a week previous to test drive an Impreza and he was very informative, helpful and approchable. I appreciated the low pressure first experience with the car. I had recently been through a high pressure experience at a different dealer nearby and this was a welcome change. It definitely influenced my decision to a) make the purchase and b) come back to this dealer. We communicated through email to ensure the car that I wanted was in stock, and I came in the next weekend to make my purchase. (black Forester with black leather) We felt no pressure whatsoever and Michael sat down with us to show us the price and the price was considerably lower without us even haggling. My wife and I were really surprised. We have purchased 4 cars and this was the only pleasant experience.....ever. Our trade-in price was great and so was the car price we ended up paying. This is the only place I would recommend to a relative. We purchased at night and then the next day we noticed some light scratches on the outside and some sticker (?) residue on the inside. I don't much like pushy sales people that don't pay attention - but I could tell immediately this wasn't Wayne. He's knowledgeable, helpful and not pushy. Not to mention that I came in with a really low offer in mind - and while he couldn't meet it exactly, he came darn close. So I ended up getting a really good deal and dealt with a really good guy. I recently purchased a new Impreza from Livermore Subaru. The experience from start to finish was as easy as it gets. I dealt with Ahmad online and by phone, who was extremely friendly and helpful. I started with an e-mail, a counter offer from me, and they agreed to a very good price quickly. Having to drive almost two hours makes you worry a little that when you arrive the car won't be there, but when I arrived he had it ready to go and parked out front and ready for me. I immediately found some damage in the leather seat, which originally had me very worried, but after just a few minutes of discussion they quickly agreed to resolve the issue to my satisfaction while we dealt with the paperwork. Everybody was friendly and helpful, and nobody was pushy, not in sales nor finance. My only (minor) issue was that the dealership is in a very dusty area and the cars are dusty, and the detailers missed some areas when preparing it -- a minor issue, easily corrected. On the plus side, you can see how well the color you're choosing hides dirt. :-) read more

I wanted to buy a new car, and my sights were really set on an Outback Limited with a moon roof and eyesight. I went to a couple other Subaru dealerships, who I will keep nameless, who tried to scam me on APR and fees, or just wouldn't budge on an already inflated price. I went to Livermore Subaru because I found a great deal on one of their cars online, and it was the best first car buying experience I could have asked for. Not only did I get an out of this world APR and deal on the price of the car, but I didn't have to play any games to get the price point where I needed it, Cedric was very straight forward with all of the fees and their breakdowns and gave me the BEST deal on a Subaru Outback 2.5i Limited that I've seen. He was patient and answered all of my crazy questions. And most of all I felt safe. It really makes a difference feeling like you can trust your car salesman, as buying a car is no small purchase. Just to start off, I absolutely hate car shopping! I had my last car for 11 years until things started to fall apart. I dreaded this experience, but I had already figured out that I wanted a Subaru Forester. I knew it would suit my lifestyle well and I liked how it looked. Most of all I was impressed to see many of the older Subaru models still on the road. To me that's a sign of reliability. My first encounter with Livermore Subaru was through their website. My car was in the shop and I was staring at a costly repair bill, so I gathered enough courage to ask for an online quote. They immediately got back to me via email and phone. At that time I decided to give my old car another chance and they respectfully understood my decision and stopped calling. Six or so months later, my car developed new issues, and I knew it was time. I called Livermore Subaru, because I already felt like they respected my wishes. William took on my request. We scheduled a weekend appointment and even though we had to ask for a time change, William was super accommodating. Before we even arrived, William lined up the models I was interested in and gave me an thorough overview of the car. He is extremely knowledgeable about the features of each trim and he took his time explaining each. After we went over the differences between the models, we went for the test drive. I explained to William that I drive over a big hill daily and he ensured that the road test we took included some hills, so I can see how the car does. Eventually we decided on a model and William began drawing up paperwork. Even though he was busy with all the papers, he never disappeared, so we had a chance to ask him questions while he was gathering everything. He even found a phone charger for my phone (tip AT&T doesn't have service there, if you don't want your battery to die, make sure to put it in the airplane mode and turn on WiFi, which the dealership provides for free). There's fresh Starbucks coffee and cold filtered water at the dealership. I didn't negotiate the price. After doing my research, I felt that the price we were offered was fair. Throughout the entire experience, I never felt anxiety or pressure. I later told William that the shopping experience felt right. I was calm and sure that I was doing the right thing, just like the day I married my husband. This is my first week with my new Forester and I cannot be more in love. Their finance manager was very helpful too. I foolishly left my checkbook at home that day, thinking that I can submit a down payment with ATM card, but there are daily limits, which I forgot about. They re-drafted my contract and let me come back the next day with the check book. On the fourth business day after purchase I received a call from the service department to come in and get the purchased extra treatments done and parts installed.
