I had the absolute worst experience at this establishment. I'd never recommend them to anyone. I walked in and I was immediately profiled by the Asian lady behind the bar. I asked to be seated and she ignored me. Finally she responded and told me that 20 percent gratuity was automatically included into my bill. I politely responded by saying that was fine. I was seated and then this same bar tender proceeded to stare in a menacing way. Food is good. Been here twice and have tried the shrimp roll & spicy beef pho bowl. Would not order mixed drinks again. Very weak.

The food was pretty good. I ordered one of the seafood bags....I wish the corn and potato was cooked in the bag...they lacked flavor. Tasted like they were placed in the bag after it was cooked. I wasn't a fan of the blue crab that was in there either. I wasn't too pleased with the price for the amount of food. Other places I have shared a bag of seafood with another person and still had food left over. If you are looking to fill your taste for some seafood and nothing else is close try this place. Our server was great and promt! We didn't have to wait long for our food but those are about the only things good besides the crab rangoon. I ordered a snow crab leg boil with a lobster tail. I was disappointed in the fishy taste. There is a tank full of fresh lobster that I didn't see anyone take from for the whole hour and a half we were there. Fishy seafood means that it is either old or previously frozen. The crab legs weren't the best quality but didn't taste nearly as fishy as the lobster. I couldn't even finish it. The pho was subpar. The broth was good but the steak was thin with zero flavor. You could tell it was a cheap cut of meat. I was disappointed with the food because I've waited months to try this place. I love pho. Was really excited to see it was offered nearby. I ordered carry out the hostess was very friendly said it would be Five to ten minutes. It turned out to be closer to twenty. I was very disappointed. The meat was fatty and full of gristle and the Noodles were hard. They give a large portion but it wasn't very good at all . I would like to try one more time and try the boil before I say I won't go back. read more

Unfortunately, I have to mark Lobster & Pho down in the books as completely skippable. I was totally excited firstly, to have a Vietnamese style Cajun restaurant in Cleveland (a huge trend right now in the food world) and secondly, to have a pho restaurant in centrally located Independence. After a good friend suggested coming here to try it out, I was glad I could go with a group to get a sampling of both the seafood boil and the pho. To our dismay, our group was really disappointed with both menu options. Our server was extremely kind and helpful, very patient with all of our questions, and happy to recommend spice level based on his Louisiana background. We decided to get the larger seafood boil to share (I believe priced at around $50) with the garlic butter sauce, along with a side of cajun for dipping. My friends also got a bowl of pho. The pho took a longer time that we expected, but perhaps they were holding it to bring out with the seafood boil. When we got the food, we were really disappointed with the lack of garlic punch on the seafood boil. In addition, the seafood itself definitely seemed like it was cooked frozen based on the texture. On top of that, when dipping in the cajun sauce to add flavor, all I tasted was oil with a slight cajun spice. I was also disappointed that for $50, they couldn't have thrown in some more corn and potato to round out the meal. Our bag had a decent amount of seafood, but just two small slices of sausage, two pieces of corn cob, and two pieces of potato wedge. The nail in the coffin was the pho broth, utterly tasteless and bland. On all accounts food-wise, I wouldn't return to this restaurant or recommend to others. However, I will say that the service was great, and I did like the casual and clean atmosphere. Perhaps those that are new to trying this type of cuisine might enjoy the fact that it's a milder version for general audiences. However, I think Lobster & Pho has many improvements to make, and given the fact that we have several seafood boil restaurants, as well as many pho restaurants to choose from across the Cleveland area, I wouldn't consider visiting Lobster & Pho for either one. read more

Went here 1/2/19 for late afternoon lunch with wife. Having had lobster rolls in New England several times, we were looking forward to a local place that had them. The price is about the same as in Maine, but there the meat was all large chunks. Here it was 3 pieces of claw meat on top of a portion of chopped lobster (salad?) Somewhat disappointing, but what do you expect so far from the source. All in all, not a bad representation. Fries were good. Will go back to try the pho. read more

Loved the food and plan to go back. I had the Shrimp boil with Cajun and garlic butter medium. It was about the right level of spice for me. Ton of Shrimp. Shrimp is shell on with heads unless you pay the extra dollar to have the heads removed. However, the shells will still be on so you'll need to peel them. The sausage and potatoes were very good but there weren't very many in there but still lots of shrimp. I also got the mussel boil with lemon butter medium. They were 2 separate pots and too much for one meal. The lemon butter for me didn't have enough flavor. If you go that direction, get it mild. It's just too much pepper. I would suggest the cajun or the cajun and garlic butter. Best way to go. More flavor and it's really good with the potatoes. Oh and you can get extra potatoes, sausage or corn for a price (see the sides section of the menu). Oh for me the corn was way over-cooked. I like my corn just barely cooked. That is my only negative comment for the place. My friend ordered the Chicken Pho bowl. It was very large. However, if you also like lots of veggies, ask them to add the veggies from the veggie bowl. I think they charged her $2 or $3 more for the bowl but it was enough for at least 2 meals if not more. She loved it. We went at an odd time on a Sunday before a holiday so it was empty. Filled up about 1/2 way before we left. Service was very good but hard to judge with the time we went. Place is fairly small. They do take reservations though. Everything on their menu looked good to me -- Pho bowl, rice dishes, boils and the Shrimp and lobster rolls. Looking forward to going back and trying something else. There are many restaurants in Indy, as a resident we have many choices. Lobster and Pho is a rare find! Lobster rolls like you find in Rhode Island or Delaware! This place is not good at all. I ordered a vegetable pho and there was no flavor at all and it almost tasted like cigarette smoke. Also they do not know how to cook chicken. Spent $90 here and wasn't very pleased. The pho wasn't good (very bland). Seafood boil was 6/10. The potatoes were hard, crawfish dirty, and barely any crab. I ordered the lobster roll which was served with fries. Both the roll and fries were delicious! I also ordered spring rolls which were just ok. My friends and I also ordered the ultimate seafood boil with Cajun seasoning and butter sauce which are comprised of lobster, blue crab, snow crab legs, clams, mussels, and shrimp. The lobster, clams and shrimp were very good and fresh and tasty! The crabs and mussels were sub par and was not fresh so a little disappointed. Overall, I'd give it 85%. read more

I had the worst experience at Lobster and Pho today. Let me start off by saying that I am a regular customer. Today while I dined with my mother and my niece we were harassed by the manager because our Pho was not correct. My mother had to call the police because after telling the manager that she would keep her already incorrect meal, he continued to stand over her and proceed to question her. Then, she eventually (after not touching her food) tells the waitress that she wanted her bill and would not be keeping the incorrect meal. The manager yells that she would have to pay for her food and then he proceeds to stand close to the door as if he was trying to intimidate. Thank you, Independence Police! They came in and did the right thing and even called the manager out about his poor customer service. The sad thing is we had no problem paying for the food that was correct. However, the meal that was incorrect and never touched should have been taken off of the bill. All in all, we paid for the food that we ate and was able to leave unharmed. However, we will never spend another dime in this establishment! If you want good Pho with good customer service go to Coventry or downtown. I live in Independence and I will now drove across town to enjoy some good spicy Pho! read more
