We had lunch there recently! The food was good but the tourist prices was a sticker shock for me . I had chicken fried steak, it was nearly $18.00. I have had it at Texas Roadhouse recently for 10.99 (and there prices have went up also). Of course we eat dinner early so they have a 3 to 5 menu. But to compare the two meals I like Texas Roadhouse better. And it's a whole lot cheaper. I guess I just can't get used to higher prices in a tourist town, so if you don't mind paying high prices by all means check this place out. We were on vacation looking for a breakfast spot. The Belgian Waffle place was closed so we walked a little further down hoping to find something unique. We arrived at the Local Flavor and I'm so glad we chose this place! It didn't have breakfast but the food was so good we didn't really miss not having the option. Spent a week in Branson and had many good meals, this was the best. Nice people and great home cooking.

When we got there we stood up front waiting to get on the list for about ten minutes but they only had two waitresses so it didn't bother me. We did get seated almost immediately once they came to the front because four tables left back to back. The staf is very attentive and it wasn't just our waitress that took care of us. Both waitress and a nice man in overalls came out to fill our drinks so we had great service. They are all very friendly. The food was good, but not nothing that would make me go back again. Unfortunately when I travel I always feel like the food is never as good as back in Texas, so nothing on them, we just have better food in Texas. Would I recommend this restaurant to people in the area traveling, definitely. I do recommend avoiding the cheese bites, not good. read more

This is one of the best meals I had on my Branson adventures this summer. It's is home cooking at a reasonable price. Came in on a Saturday afternoon expecting the usual Branson tourist crowds; but, to my surprise we had the place to ourselves except for two other tables. Walked in to find the establishment very clean and tidy. We were seated immediately and started enjoying the the musical talents of an older gentleman crooning older country/western songs which we delighted in hearing. Started with the Fried Green Tomatoes and they were a delight! Hubs ordered Fried Fish Platter, daughter got The Farm Burger and as for myself ordering The Wedge Salad with Grilled Chicken. We all enjoyed our lunches with a few minor tweaks needing to be made. Hubs mashed potato's had skin on and the potatos used had skins like paper towels making them not palatable and inedible (and I love mashed no matter what) and I found my salad very good and don't get me wrong, I like blue cheese; but, it was drowning in blue cheese and just became a blue cheese salad after eating for a while. We will be back as we gleefully enjoyed the live entertainer (we were the ONLY table interacting with him) and he actually requested our daughter get up and sing two songs while he played the guitar. Even though he was unfamiliar with one song he did a great job cording! Plus we now know how to order and what to stay away from. The food itself lacked any flavor or seasoning, it's almost like they really don't know how to cook, everything was greasy, over cooked and lacked flavor. My wife and I visited Branson on our recent vacation and we saved Local Flavor for our final dining experience and it did not disappoint. They seemed short staffed but only seated people they could serve which was refreshing and they did a great job with service. The blackberry iced tea was excellent, as were the fried pepper jack cheese curds. I had a hard time selecting something on the menu because there were so many appealing options but ultimately decided on the two grilled cheese hamburger & fries and it was out of this world. The grilled cheeses were cooked perfectly on Texas toast, the hamburger was sensational, and the pickles, tomato, and lettuce was so fresh! My wife got chicken fried chicken and said it was the best she'd ever had. The owners seem like great people and I hope this places continues to thrive. So we had read and seen reviews on this place and had wanted to try it for a long time. It is decorated cute both outside and in. It was shockingly empty considering it was a Saturday in July on the strip. It's important to be patient everywhere these days because it seems like staff is always overworked, however it was honestly very slow in spite of seeming to have staff. They brought out our salad at the same time as our meal. There were several of our favorites on the menu so we were excited. After waiting so long my potatoes were cold (but homemade), toast had no butter, my chicken pieces looked so delicious. My husband's sandwich looked good, but his fries were over cooked. My mashed potatoes tasted good in spite of being cold, and the fries were ok. The chicken looked so good but tasted terrible sadly. The toast tasted old and with no butter was inedible. We thought maybe old grease had been used? Anyway it was over $50 and we sadly will not be willing to gamble that much to try it again. I hope from the other reviews we just had a bad experience in the middle of a lot of good ones. read more

We were out in Branson for a baseball tournament. A teammate told us about Local Flavor. This place has the best catfish, okra, and hush puppies that I have ever tried!!
