Cute place with a GREAT happy hour! Visited Houston for a work trip and stumbled upon this place after looking for Happy Hour deals. Keep in mind it's only for the Patio and Bar areas, but there was plenty of seating. The venue was beautifully decorated and had an elevated vibe to it. My waiter was great as well. The only issue I had was that when I asked if it was possible to order a small side salad, he said yes, and it turned out to be the full sized salad listed on the menu as $15. I thought the size was weird when it initially came out, but didn't think anything of it... & didn't realize it was the full salad until the bill came. I felt like a bit of transparency would've been great. Other than that, the Oysters on the Half Shell and the Moules Frites were delicious. As well as the complimentary bread. All in all I had a pretty good experience here. I would probably come back and make sure to ask clarifying questions.
We picked Loch Bar for a Friday date night, in part because of an offer they had in the InKind App. The restaurant is located in the same complex at Equinox and many high end shops. You can valet at the front for 10 dollars or parking in the parking garage for free. We made our reservation for 6:30 because they do happy hour from 3-7 every day. However, I was disappointed to hear that they only offer happy hour at the bar, not in the main dining area. The menus were way too big for our small table, so we quickly chose what food we wanted so we could get rid of them. We ordered 3 raw oysters (best bite- great quality and set up), the cream of crab soup (tasty but also so rich), the chicken and shrimp gumbo (decent) to start. We also ordered the tuna poke (wouldn't recommend and needed a cracker/ vessel), the mussels (large portion but lacked flavor), the fried lobster tail (honey butter flavor was unique but was way too rich) and the crab cake sandwich (fine and great crab chunks, but nothing special). Our server was very nice and attentive, even when her coworkers dropped the ball. She went and found us bread when it didn't arrive. Our waters were always filled. We sat by the front door and the waitress computer station. During this time, a man was very frustrated with a service charge on his bill and was fussing at the manager right next to our table. The manager was sweet and took a moment to apologize to us for the commotion and sent us a complimentary passion fruit creme brûlée. It was really tasty (another best bite) and we appreciated the gesture. I would come back for oysters and a drink, but I can't say I'll be craving another full dinner in the future.
We decided to check out Loch Bar on Valentine's Day. Reservations were made weeks in advance for a table of four. Valet is available for a fee, otherwise you can do garage parking within a short walk. It was pouring rain and though the valet had umbrellas, they had me standing in the pouring rain while they got my phone number so they could send me a link to pay for my parking. They have a really nice patio out front facing Westheimer. The check in area was a little crowded especially since it was Valentine's and the weather outside, so getting through to our table was a little rough. Customer service was great. Dee was our server and he did an amazing job from start to finish. He was friendly and gave great suggestions. Our drinks, apps and entrees came out with a quickness as well. I also like that on certain days, they have live music. Even when the live music wasn't happening, they play some good jams and the place stays lively. They had it nicely decorated for the holiday as well. I started off with one of their Valentine's drink specials called You, Me, and whiskey. It was their take on an old fashioned complete with flowers inside. It was good and a generous pour. As far as the menu goes, seafood is their thing, but they have non seafood options as well. For an appetizer, we shared the Crispy Calamari. Portion was kind of small for the price but it tasted really good. For my entree, I went with one of the popular items, the Blackened Redfish. The dish was kind of sloppily plated for a fine dining establishment. To me, the dish had good flavor, but I felt the temps were off. It was just warm and I felt the fish was slightly overcooked. Maybe they premade things to get the crowds in and out on a busy night. When the check came, there was a little sticker shock. The prices online and the ones posted on their actual menus are way off. Now I don't mind paying for a good meal, but they should really be consistent with what they put online and what they actually charge. They also auto gratuity even for a table of four. Just a few things that made my visit here less than stellar. I don't see myself coming back anytime soon.
Loch Bar's Happy Hour menu is great with a large variety and definitely shareable. The host greeted and gave us a warm welcome. Our favorite dishes were the calamari and the beef tenderloin chops. While the moules/mussel frites didn't quite hit the spot for me, the overall dining experience was great. Perfect for date night or girls night out. It is also very dark inside.
Loch Bar Happy Hour is a hit!!! On a random Wednesday, my boyfriend and I decided to go to this happy hour (that I've seen good things about on social media). It's always 50-50 seeing viral spots online, but I decided to give it a try since the menus I saw online seemed promising. Loch Bar is located in River Oaks - when you first pull in, you'll have to look for the parking garage behind the restaurant for free parking. The front lot is just for valet ($10 valet). The garage is not a far walk from the restaurant, you'll just need to drive up 3 floors to get to free parking/non-reserved parking. It was not busy on a Wednesday at 5pm. It's open bar seating, and thankfully there were spots at the bar. There were two menus - a special oyster menu (discounted $1 oysters, originally $1.50 on regular HH days, other specialty oysters + grilled oysters for $2.50 which is a steal) and the normal HH menu. I was SO excited to see $1 oysters! I haven't found a place in Houston that generously serves dollar oysters. They were sweet, briny, and came with toppings like vinegar, lemon, tabasco, cocktail sauce, and horse radish. I order a second round after I finished the mere 4 I initially ordered. They varied in sizes, some smaller, some big. Other items I ordered: - Brussel Sprouts 4.5/5 -- these were delish! For me, a little heavy on the honey. They were pretty sweet, but my boyfriend loved them because they were that way. The red peppers they garnish on top are spicy, as a warning lol. - Loch Burger (split between 2 people) 4/5 -- double patty burger. This burger was standard. It wasn't bad. Good for the price and juicy as well. - Cheesy Tater Tots 5/5 -- Not your typical tots, they were layered and deep fried and slightly cheesy. You only get 5 pieces, but they complemented the burger nicely. They even put caviar to top! Granted, it didn't have much texture aside from being salty, but still, very fancy. The service was great. Our waters were filled at all times, and the bartenders were attentive. Only downside was, I think they gave pull apart bread with butter to some people, but we didn't get any when we sat down. I didn't see it on the menu, so not sure if they just missed us. Highly recommend this spot for a happy hour spot to chit chat and have a change of pace to your weeknight, all without breaking the bank and having good food!
$5-$10 bites for happy hour and pretty generous portions. We came towards the end of happy hour and were seated outside on the patio. Heaters were very warm! Service outside was a little on the slower side but our food and drinks came out relatively quickly. Great ambiance for a date or happy hour! - Crushed drinks: tastes like a highball, not too strong. - Moules frites: big fan of the white wine sauce, perfect for dipping bread in. Mussels were on the smaller side and fries were a little disappointing. - Brussels sprouts: so heavenly! Loved the sweetness. - Calamari: not bad but I wouldn't order it again, was on the saltier side. - Oyster shooters: would recommend the vodka over Houston style (beer) but that is personal preference! Overall great vibes will definitely be back for happy hour.
Yum, had a great experience at Loch Bar! We stumbled in after some shopping and were pleasantly surprised to find it was happy hour on a Saturday (3-7 daily!). We were greeted by kind servers and started with complimentary pull-apart bread and butter (amazing). Our table shared the chicken and sausage gumbo (slightly too peppery for our taste, but still so good and I'd absolutely order it again), moules frites, and the Loch Bar burger. The burger was the clear standout. Piled high yet somehow light with every bite rather than overly dense. Paired with a $6 draft beer, it made for a fantastic lunch. The daytime vibe was lovely with the windows open, but I feel like this spot would shine in the evening with the lights low. Can't wait to go back!
Literally the happiest hour on earth! Move over, Disney, there's a new happy place in town! Located in the beautiful Galleria row of high end and luxurious shops and restaurants, the Loch Bar is just another place to be and be seen. Every thing we ordered was absolutely delicious! The raw oysters for $1 each was the major win here. I posted the pic of the HH menu and literally ordered everything on there with no regerts. The drinks were also delicious, however, I would skip the oyster shooter with vodka. Yuck! Otherwise, the HH value, service, great tasting food and beautiful ambiance are the total package. Now, Loch it in and get your Happy!
I've come here twice now for happy hour and I love! I've actually had the same server (Dwayne) both times and he is incredible! Super knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive. The vibe is definitely upscale. Perfect for a girls night or a date night. They even have live music on Saturday nights. And the happy hour?!? Every single day from 4-7 plus reverse happy hour from 10-1 on Sundays and Monday's I believe? So I've tried the oysters (which was my first time trying raw oysters and I think I prefer them chargrilled), the beef tenderloin (perfect), and the calamari (on the saltier side but also delicious). For drinks I've tried the sparkling house wine which I enjoyed, the lemon drops, and a French 75 which all were tasty, and more importantly, STRONG. Plus it comes with free bread which has this delicious compound butter on top - so good. Definitely need to come back to try more things on their menu :)
Loch Bar's happy hour is one of my favorites in the city. The drink deals are very good and the food is delicious. I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone who dislikes seafood and raw shellfish, however, since they really pride themselves on their fresh oysters. We arrived at an odd hour around 4pm on a Sunday afternoon and the bar area was very busy and already almost full. I'm not sure the best time to arrive since the bar remained pretty full the entire time we were there, but I would say it is worth the wait. My favorite items were the raw oysters, the mussels and fries, and the complimentary bread. The oysters were a little inconsistent in size and we had a few with shell fragments in them, but overall the oysters were very fresh and sweet. The bread comes out soon after you place your order and the garlic herb butter paired with the slightly crispy crust is an elite combination. The star of the show for me was definitely the mussels and fries. The broth that the mussels come in is perfect for dipping the fries in (and bread if you have any left over at that point). The server that we had was very kind and made us feel comfortable. I would recommend going with a small group and ordering a lot of food and drinks. This place is a great time!
Came here for a quick girls night out ! It's been a minute since the last time I came so I was excited to be back. Service was amazing- thanks Kyanna for the recommendation on my dinner ! Drinks - my friend had the frose and I had the flight "three crush and a slush" which is all their crush cocktails and the frose (pretty good deal if i say so myself) Food - first time I came i had the lobster roll & wasn't impressed but this time around I tried the blackened redfish and it was the best decision i made that night ! Overall - i heard loch bar has a good HH so I'll be back!

Did anyone say happy hour!!! They have happy hour every day , twice a day!!! It can't get better than that. Drinks and food special ! It was not crowded on Sunday at 5:30 . The lighting was great , not too dark, and not loud at all. We ordered drinks, burger, Mussels, caviar, oysters and crab bite. Everything came out very quick and all at once. Literally one of my favorite restaurants in HTX! Not only are they open late, the drinks are delicious, the service is pretty good, they have live music on some days and the food? So good. Typically at a seafood restaurant you don't typically get the burger but I PROMISE YOU, the burger is one of the besssst i've ever had. The lobster roll is pretty good too. The happy hour? Make sure you get the frosè! 10/10 recommend. read more

My favorite restaurant in Houston! The vibes are always on point. They have live music sometimes. It's so beautiful inside, and the staff is always kind. And the best for last - THE FOOD. I've never had anything that I didn't like here. The seafood towers are beautiful and delicious. The ceviche is chefs kiss. The lobster roll is phenomenal. I love the Caesar, the gumbo, the potato skins and caviar. It's all always good. Highly recommend. read more
10/10 experience and would highly recommend. We came here to snack on appetizers and just chat over drinks. All the food was delicious and their drink options were great too. Our waitress was so nice and attentive. Some of our items were slow to come out but the manager stopped by our table to check in. I also appreciated the atmosphere and dim lighting. We came here mainly for HH oysters and they were delicious!! Sweet, perfect size, and clean. The Mac n cheese were also good. The deviled eggs were okay. The fries were good! I didn't try the cheese bread but it looks good. The service was also quick and friendly. read more

Best place ever !!! I been here probably 20 times is my favorite late night eat the music is such a vive the food is excellent and the drinks are spectacular . If you ever want a great upscale, but casual seafood restaurant that also serves many other entrées looking no further than this place I have been here several times each and every time I love the service, the food and the food quality this visit. I got the grilled oysters, which were ridiculously amazing and I ordered the Loch Burger as well, but whatever you choose, you really cannot go wrong. read more
Went here for a girls night celebrating my birthday. There was live music so that was cool. He was good too. The manager told us to stop screaming. But the place is so loud. How else can you express yourself if you can't "whooooo hoooooo". Lol other than that, great place for friends to eat out and have drinks. Kind of too loud for a romantic date. Came to Loch Bar to have a drink, dine, and enjoy their live music. We took our seats and realized we were not given the social menu. It took a while for a server to come to pour us water before we could inquire about the social menu. He told us "you have to sit further in (closer to live music) or the bar for that." We asked him if we could move and he told us to find the host (without notifying the host for us). This was pretty disappointing. Once we got seated at the bar, it took a while before we were served, and the server apologized for the wait because he was busy, this was understandable. He accommodated us by splitting our food orders, choosing a beverage for me, and was friendly with hospitality throughout the evening, this turned our service experience around. The table bread was a pleasant surprise, served warm in a bowl covered in garlic butter, it was delicious but a little dry. The server split our orders in half so we could each have half of each other, the burger was so juicy and the gumbo was full of flavor (the only downfall is that I wish it had more rice). The atmosphere is nice and the live music was enjoyable. I will definitely be back to enjoy live music and try their wines and cocktails during social hour. read more
Loch Bar is one of my favorites in the river oaks are! Lunch, brunch, dinner or drinks they always get it right! Service every time has been on point!! I love the atmosphere, we've gone in the day time with our toddler for bunch and in the evening with friends for drinks. The espresso martini is always great! Worth every penny and some! Chose this spot because we love live music! It definitely didn't disappoint. Food was amazing!!! Service was great as well!! We ordered blackened redfish, spicy fried chicken, shells & cheese and hush puppies. Ok so the redfish lemon beurre blanc was soooo good! The sauce was something I've never tasted before. It was the highlight of the dish! I almost licked my plate that's how good it was lol! Spicy fried chicken was fried perfectly and seasoned well. Shells and cheese was flavorful and anything but mediocre. Hush puppies were crisp but yet soft and yummy. Everything was amazing!! Will return!! read more
Like being whisked away to something from a Fitzgerald novel, Loch Bar has all the right vibes. I won't lie, though: if the waiters and tapsters were decked out in some prohibition-era attire, the zen in this place would have been otherworldly. Since it's an oyster bar, I brought a slug-eater with me (no offensive to slim-lovers). She ordered the ninigret, pink moon, and prestige oysters. I can only assume that this was a pleasurable experience because she was talking to herself and smiling during this oyster-expedition. I ordered from HRW and heard those deviled eggs calling my name: it occurs to me whilst enjoying these devilish beauties--because they were perfectly quaffed lil' eggs--that I don't know how I really feel about truffles. It was a true existential crisis, but overall, the DE's were quite tasty. My second course were the breakfast tacos. They did not disappoint. The beef tenderloin lived up to its tenderness and delighted my soul to no end. Then again, I'm an avid breakfast taco fan and rarely meet a BT I don't appreciate. And, if you're going to serve a BT on corn, follow the Loch Bar's lead: double layer, secure the bounty inside the taco. We also ordered the honey Sriracha Brussel sprouts. Divine. Simply wonderful in balance and flavor profile. The $4 mimosas definitely encouraged us to sit back, relax, and enjoy the ambiance. Just general musings since we were trying to stay long enough to enjoy their Sunday revered HH: if you're a tall gal or fella, don't sit in the booth. I'm short. The booth was short. I felt at home. My tall, oyster-eating friend, not so much. The restroom is also a delightful stop with well-placed mirrors. read more
Every time I've been here, I've had amazing experiences! Their service and happy hour is fantastic. Good assortment of cocktails and bites. Stand outs for me are the oysters, deviled eggs, and the Mac and cheese. So so good! The ceviche was such a small portion and the tuna to chip ratio was very off. I'd skip that one. Parking is available in the garage so it's not too far of a walk. This is the perfect place for a happy hour with friends or date night. Will always recommend! read more
READ FOR: Bar Experience + Oyster Goodness Loch Bar! I've gone to this place one too many times. It's a great place to spend a Thursday evening, or even a Saturday before/after a dinner date, or just meeting up with a friend (or two). FWIW, I go only to the bar and order whatever I need there. With that, I've tried a couple of things from the menu. Food-wise: not the beggest fan. I haven't tried anything that I would want to order again. The bread that should be served hot with this garlic butter on top doesn't hit like it used to. Now feels more like it's warmed up, and certai ly not the same effect. The bartenders are very attentive - the drinks are made very well (fell in love w the French 75 here). (Again at the bar) The crowd gives a healthy mix of escorts + men who are looking. This is the place to go (and they know), so don't be alarmed if things look... hmm. Oh yes, OYSTERS - they have a great selection! And especially East Coast. For HH, you dont make a selection, but you do for regular price. read more

A spontaneous impromptu date night at Loch Bar turned out to be the highlight of our week!! You don't have to look far, because Loch Bar continues to have the best HH on weeknights from 5-7PM. I remember a friend mentioning that their HH's were poppin'!! We arrived around 5:30pm on a Wednesday and it was pretty quiet, which I def appreciated! We sat down and Ricky was our server for the evening! Super friendly + down to earth and recommended a few things too, but towards the latter half of our evening, things went a bit downhill. Service was a bit slow, initially brought me the wrong drink, but after I realized it was the wrong drink, I flagged down a different server and got the correct one, but then Ricky forgot to remove the wrong drink from our check, and he forgot to bring our ketchup, a clear case of foggy brain + a bit too chill and relaxed in my opinion. Now onto the good stuff, the HH MENU and food selections were amazing!! We ordered: - blue mussels in white wine sauce with French fries (my favorite of the night) - deviled eggs - ceviche - Prestige oysters $1.50 each! - perfect pear cocktail *highly recommend if you like lemon drop martinis - Jasmine cocktail - passion fruit crème brûlée (it was good, but lacked the passion fruit flavors, just tasted like plain crème brûlée $12!!!). Not worth it. All in all, minus a few hiccups, everything was fantastic and the food was amazing! Fresh, flavorful, and made the overall experience fun! read more

Ambience is great, the food options are even better, & the drink menu? Superb. Loch bar took my money and ran honey! I mean I really enjoyed everything I tried. Top notch for sure. The lettuce wraps were beautifully plated and although it was an appetizer I ordered it as my meal. The beef was tender, the lettuce was fresh and the ssamjang dipping sauce paired so well with the entire dish. 10/10 for me. The fish and chips were also good especially considering I do not like fried fish, and the brussels sprouts were braised perfectly in the honey sriracha sauce. I would like a few words with the chef plz!! Definitely recommend this place to those who are looking for fine dining, romantic dates or seafood lovers with a versatile palette. read more
I would recomendar this place if you're looking for a casual/upscale restaurant. Our server was so kind (forgot her name) but she checked up on us a lot and was very patient with us. I ordered the Oven roasted and the crispy chicken Sandwich; both of them were very good. Can't wait to come back for brunch again read more

Absolutely delicious the deviled eggs were so creamy and good . I loved the crème brûlée had a hint of passion fruit which i enjoyed . The lobster was kind of over rated considering it was $123 for 1.9 lbs. the mashed potato were on point with flavor and perfectly mashed . i enjoyed the ambience but it got really loud once the signer and guitar player started around 9 pm. This restaurant doesn't disappoint love the mood perfect for a date night! I usually come on a Saturday/Sunday night because they're open late and you can get good food and drinks. We made it in time for the late night happy hour from 10p-2a. I ordered a frose from the HH menu and I got the lobster roll from the dinner menu which is always delicious with truffle fries which is a $5 up charge but well worth it. We came here for my friends birthday dinner so I got to sample everyone's dish. My best friend liked the redfish, but not the grits had no flavor. My other friends were in love with what the loins they ordered. I was able to taste a little piece and it was marinated very well. We weren't the biggest fan of the mac & cheese. It just needed a little bit more salt/pepper, but overall was creamy. My friend loved her muscles. She loved the garlic sauce that was paired with them. My other friend liked the taste of the gumbo, but it didn't really give a gumbo consistency. They had live music, which was a nice touch to the night. You can either valet or they have a free parking garage around the corner. Our waiter was Dewayne and he was great. read more
Soooo this place needs a lot of work for the cost to meet its service and quality of food. I heard good things about this place. Don't believe the hype Food was ok. The cream of crab soup lacked flavor. Something was missing but it wasn't good. The Cajun cauliflower was ok, fried very light but without the sauce, no flavor. The main dish was great. I had scallops. I love brussel sproutss but that shaved brussel sprouts with pomegranate seeds and apple slices made it uniquely delicious. The drinks were very weak, I got the prickly pear. They put sugar on the rim. The waiter failed to ask me if I like it on or off. I intended to do a Bourbon flight but was told they ran out of 2 of them. Anytime we asked our waiter for something he would say give him a second and would take a long time to return. read more
Girls night out at the Loch Bar. Always a good time when we all link up together. Loch Bar was a cool atmosphere for maybe a happy hour but not preferred for dinner. Food is cool but very expensive. Crab cake dip was probably my favorite item but it is a very small portion for 32.00. We really wanted the Maryland crab cakes but nobody wanted to come off that 60 bucks for the small cakes....especially knowing we got crabcakes in Maryland for way cheaper. Red fish, fish and chips, steak, and steak lettuce wraps...all cool. Customer service was just okay. The patio felt amazing. The sidecar was okay. Valet or garage parking available. The band was setting up as we were leaving but good to know they have entertainment and opened late!! Best part if the dinner was my free 10$ frenchfries from yelp! Love being a yelper!! read more

The hostess Skye was the best experience to this visit. She was warm and welcoming. Her vibe definitely fits into the scenery . The Setting is a good vibe. Visit here on July 4th. We were able to make reservations, it wasn't super packed. I order the lobster roll, my table guest had a fish and chip (fries) entree which they seem to enjoy. The fries came with a avocado sauce. My Lobster roll was great in texture, the temperature was not as hot as it shall have been for a $35 lobster sandwich. The toast was greatly prepared, it was also served with melted butter, which was also not temperature pleasing. I enjoyed this dish better from cousins Maine lobster food truck. (Which is disappointing to admit). The salad served with this dish was a mixture of crispy greens and soggy greens. I did not finish it, even though I really wanted to. I Just couldn't stomach the sogginess. Perhaps it was from the dressing they drown it in, instead of the ranch as I requested on the side. (Which was collected after my second reminder). Whatever drink she recommended with the ginger beer, it was definitely NOT the way to go, to the light drinkers. That ginger was super potent to the point it has a slight burning in the throat. Definitely sent that back after two sips. I replaced it with the froze' rose', which was sweet and pleasant, yet plain, no pretty presentation add on to the drink at all. (Which is what I look for, and ask for. She definitely should have drop some strawberries into it, Or placed them On the side, maybe sugar rim, something.). Presentation to me is everything, this was more like a adult Bahama bucks drink. Velvet was $9, payment was collect at the time of departure. Received a recommendation from host at steak48, since no rsvp was available. However this has been a place I've was interested in trying for brunch. read more

Love this place. Nice scenery. It's not over done and not crowded. Really good menu options. Everything we got was delicious. The drinks are really good. It's a nice place to go for just drinks as well. Our waitress Zoey was great! The only concern is there aren't a lot of options to sit with regard to regular tables and not booths. It full of booths. Definitely a place to visit regularly. read more
Went to Ouzo Bay (sister's restaurant) over the weekend for brunch and decided to have lunch here. Valet parking before 2 pm is $6. Different vibe from Ouzo Bay as it is more laid back, chill, like a lounge setting. Seated immediately and Gene was our server. We had moules frites (love mussels in wine sauce). Fries were crispy. The complimentary roll was soft and went great with the garlic wine sauce in mussels. I would eat a couple of rolls! Medium well burger was cooked well. Think the roll is brioche. Love the salad which came with refreshing orange vinaigrette dressing. Grilled fish (black cod) tacos were a bit dry with the corn tortillas. I personally prefer more sauce. Overall a good spot for lunch! Hostess mentioned they have reverse happy hours with live bands on certain nights. Their oysters look good and will be back for those! read more

Had my second visit to Loch Bar and enjoyed it again. The first time I had the crab cake which was really good. This time we shared a whole fried chicken. I was nervous ordering this as seafood is their thing so I wasn't sure if it would be good. It was spectacular. The whole chicken portion size is HUGE. Me and my husband shared it and still had some left to take home. Drinks were good too. I had the "I want to be sedated" which is served warm. It was so delicious and definitely was a good end to the meal. Service left a bit to be desired but the food makes up for it. I love that their kitchen is open later than other places in Houston.
