My favorites so far are the fluffy chocolate chip pancakes and the breakfast bowl with tots. The gravy can't be beat! This is a classic diner experience located right next to the highway. The dining area and bathrooms are super clean. Clearly a lot of love has gone into this place and you'll feel it as soon as you're greeted at the door. We were visiting the Redwoods and Prairie State Parks and wanted to stop in Klamath to go through their Drive-thru tree. Across the street is a delightful local diner that is also right off Hwy 101 with the friendliest of people. The place had a good size crowd for a late lunch hour so we knew that the food had to be good here. The food was absolutely worth the stop. I had the cabin burger which is a BBQ burger with cheese that melted in my mouth and was as tasty as ever. The sweet potato fries were cooked to perfection. Another one of us had the chicken fried steak which was a deep fried juicy pork loin which was incredible. Portions were certainly generous and worth the price. Overall, the patrons appeared to be very satisfied and happy diners and understandably as the food and service were excellent. If I lived in the area, I would probably eat breakfast and lunch every day at the Log Cabin Diner! And be sure to check out the emus next door!! read more

Oh Yum!!! What a gem in the tiny town of Klamath. The diner is directly off the 101 and you will miss it if not keeping an eye out. It is ran by wonderful ladies that have quick wit and make you comfortable the second you walk in the door. Great home style cooking with fresh ingredients. The diner is clean and well appointed. They are obviously proud of what they have. Ample parking is available and there is counter seating along with a small front and larger rear dining room. Ate here this afternoon after parking in their lot and walking up to the 'tour thru tree'. I was hungry for french fries, so I schmoozed hubby to pop in for just fries & a drink. Well, we were greeted as if we were regulars by the adorable curly blonde lady (embarrassed I've already forgotten her name). I smelled the coffee and had to have a cup, which turned into a pot by the time I left! Hubby was thrilled to discover breakfast is served all day, so we decided to eat a meal instead of just fries. Hubby ordered the French Toast full breakfast. I'm extremely picky about Eggs Benedict, but decided to give it a whirl. I was thrilled with my choice to risk it...they were close to perfect. The hollandaise was wonderful and the eggs were great, the yolk a tiny bit too 'done', but still great. Hubby scarfed his down...when asked how it was, he said 'great'! We interacted with both servers & they were both so kind. I felt like we were regulars, which I adore! My only regret is that we have been staying in a near-ish campground for the last 2 weeks and just now found this spot! We leave for Oregon tomorrow, so we won't be back for a couple years...had we found this place sooner, we would be leaving several pounds heavier, as I figure the rest of the menu is just as tasty! The ladies running the shop were kind, respectful, and attentive. We were a group of 12 (6 kids and 6 adults) but that wasn't a problem. There was a long wait for the food, but we didn't mind since we knew there was only one chef and 12 of us--we were also checked on frequently and we always received refills for our coffee and drinks. We were asked each time if there was anything else we needed while we waited for our food. The chef even offered to redo our bacon for us if we'd like since it was a little on the crispy side, but that was exactly how our kids preferred their bacon--so kind and attentive! The ambience: This little diner is the perfect quiet and secluded small town stop. It wasn't packed and it felt really relaxed. We came here on a heavy rainy morning, we just packed and left our campsite and needed a warm and comfy place for a big breakfast, this is the only close by place which is opened early in the morning, we are so thankful to find it! I called ahead of time to make sure they are open and dine in is available, as Yelp indicates that they are for take out and outdoor seating only! The lady who answered the phone is super super nice, she asked me to 'come over, we are opened'. She sounded so welcoming! When we arrived, there are already many people, everyone looks happy and comfortable, they were talking loudly, but who cares? It was raining so heavily outside! It doesn't bother me, I just need good food and a clean restroom! We ordered chicken fried steak (it is actually pork) and 2 eggs with country ham, we chose poached eggs and hash browns. Everything is delicious, including the toast, no kidding! I like the amount of butter they put on the toast and the poached eggs are made perfectly. The service is excellent, all the staff are friendly, did I mention the restroom is soooo clean! We were on vacation in Arcata seeing the redwoods when we decided to drive up into the mountains. We had been driving for over an hour and were getting pretty hungry (as was our 9 yo). Upon review of our available options we decided to try out the Log Cabin Diner in Klamath. We were not disappointed. Overall the food was good and the service was great. We had the biscuits and gravy and our son had the chili (a bold move). We are just about everything they put in front of us. None of it was exceptionally great food but it sure hit the spot. The best part for us was the emus they have in a field next to the restaurant. They were walking along the fence line right behind us and were a lot of fun to watch. Excellent Food and super friendly service. No complaints about either. My boyfriend thought that his vegetable omelet was the best ever - and I really loved the gorgeous hash browns. However, I remember when a "diner" meant cheap food. This is definitely not that. We spent about $40 for two pretty basic breakfasts. Considering the location - that it's pretty much the only decent option around here - along with the price of *everything* in these parts (they're paying a premium for gas and supplies as well) it's worth it. Just be prepared for some sticker shock. Then enjoy looking at the emus and driving through the tree across the street (totally kitschy, but worth it). read more

We were in the parking lot, without service and no yelp at hand. What do we do...? my daughter says we need to go into this restaurant so I reluctantly walk in and at that very moment, I knew we were going to be welcomed by everyone. The delicious smell of breakfast food could immediately be experienced. We were greeted kindly food served on time it just felt like being home. We stayed at the Motel Trees and they recommended that we try this place out. Well, we were so glad that we did! The restaurant staff were very warm and welcoming. The food was easily the best meal my family and I had in our entire Northern California visit! Sherry (apologies if I misspell the name) was the sweetest person and her kindness just radiates and makes her glow! I truly love this little cozy place. There are some reviews that may make you think twice about going but don't let the doubt creep in. If you are close to the Klamath area I would have no problems recommending this place. Owner was awesome and very friendly. We were there for breakfast and everyone had something different between biscuits and gravy, French toast, pancakes and an egg sandwich. There were no cars out front when we got there so we were a littler nervous that no one was eating here. As we walked in we were greeted by a super friendly staff ready to be of service to us. The customer service was excellent, everyone was so friendly and the food was great. The homemade salsa was incredible. I had a breakfast burrito, no cheese. They made it with cheese but caught their mistake before serving it to me. They let me know what happened and apologized that my food was going to take a little longer so they could make me a new burrito. The wait was not too long and I was appreciative of the heads up.
