It somehow feels both more spacious and more cozy at the same time, which is kind of the perfect combo if you're settling in to work or hang out for a while. There are way better outlet options here, which makes it super laptop-friendly, and they even have a printer available. it's about a dollar per page. I'm a big fan of their mochas, and the snack situation is solid too. They've got good bagel options and other grab-and-go bites that actually pair well with coffee. Stopped by on my break today since it's close to the hospital. When I got to the counter, both baristas were chatting and didn't acknowledge me. I had to say hello first and still got no response. The man in the black and neon green shirt seemed annoyed when I asked questions about the "Bennu" drink, giving short answers and little help. When my drink was ready, he just mumbled something, and there were several coffees sitting there with no names called out, so I had to guess which one was mine. I sat at the first seat I saw and didn't really take in the ambiance because I just felt uncomfortable. I'm not expecting over-the-top friendliness, but a little basic customer service would go a long way. The coffee itself was good and exactly what I wanted. I saw an article a while back discussing Bennu as one of the few 24hr coffee shops still around in Austin. After living by Bennu for a couple of years and seeing the parking lot filled to the brim (literally every time I drive by), I got lucky one day and saw a parking spot. I had fresh grocery and my laptop was at home but I stopped in anyway. I loved how this coffee shop made me feel like I was back in college and writing my most expansive papers. The barista was new but very kind and helpful (this place is not your standard layout!). Yes, you have to buy something for WiFi. I felt bad watching a guy begrudgingly buy a sparkling water to get 3 more hours of internet. I totally understand the concept as they would have even more people hanging out. Came Sunday around noon, and there was no parking available. This is a 24 hour coffee shop that has a welcoming "come and chill" environment. There's plenty of indoor seating, printer, and chargers so it's understandable that their parking is taken. Inside was air conditioned and opened area. It was full of people when I came. The cashier was friendly towards me. She did have an attitude toward my friend who ordered afterwards. I ordered the iced Blennu. I give it a 6 out of 10. I do wish it was creamier. Oh, how I wish there were more places like Bennu Coffee in the world! One of its biggest highlights is that it's open 24/7, making it a perfect spot for people to get work or schoolwork done at all hours of the day. They also have plenty of seating and outlets, which is a huge plus for anyone looking for a productive environment. I've tried the Iced Bennu and the Don Quixote. The Don Quixote was a little too sweet for my taste, but the Iced Bennu was great. It reminded me of the Iced Turbo from Jo's Coffee, but with a bit more of a maple syrup flavor for the sweet side. While it's amazing that they're open 24/7, I did find their parking lot to be a bit small and disproportionate to the amount of seating inside, so finding a spot could be tricky during busy times. This is a solid coffee shop. I only get tea but they have a lot of food options including a lot of vegan options. The staff is always friendly and helpful. It's a little dark and sometimes loud. Otherwise it's totally cool. I go here a lot to meet up with people and so far it's been fine. One time a car did get hit in the lot and the employees were helping figure out the logistics of that. I've stopped in a handful of times bc it's on my way to work. First vist, I had one of the house mocha specials (can't remember the name). Pretty strong on the mocha flavor but I couldn't really taste the others flavors. I also got their bacon & egg breakfast sandwich, which was DELICIOUS. I've also tried their hot & iced Chai & found the hot version to be extremely lacking in flavor. Their hot chocolate is pretty good but a bit on the bitter side. I've only tried their lemon poppyseed loaf as far as baked goods go & it was ok. I wouldn't risk an opium drug test over it. Sorry, Seinfeld reference...had to. This morning I ordered a bacon, egg & cheese on flour taco bc their sandwiches were out, got to work and wondered why it tasted weird. It was a cactus, bean and potato on corn. It actually tasted pretty good but definitely not what I was expecting. I never would have ordered that normally, so I guess it was a happy accident. I've been coming here for years SOLELY for the fact that it is a 24 hour shop and I have work to do at all hours. But I have had it! The coffee is one of the worst I have ever tasted. Literally tastes like water mixed with coffee bean for 6 dollars. No matter what you get! They also make the coffee different every single time. Oh and don't bother asking the workers to fix your drink. They will act like you are incompetent. I have never asked a barista to remake my drink and they take it back add more whipped cream and give it back. Horrible service. The place is dirty but I guess relaxing lighting for work. Bathrooms you have to close your eyes in, very dirty. Yes, i've tried many things on the menu. What do I recommend? Absolutely nothing. Back again to pick up my ATX Coffee Crawl Passport (check out @theatxcoffeecrawl on instagram for more info!) and get a little work done today! Tried something new this time and got the Don Quixote (iced, no whip) - $5.95+$1 tip. This is another one of their signature mochas made with Azteca D'Oro spiced chocolate and Mexican spiced powder, available hot or iced. Despite being a mocha, this drink is not overwhelmingly sweet (nor bitter) and the chocolate is really nicely balanced notes of vanilla, almond and cinnamon. I've heard a lot about Bennu coffee from other students and thought it was about time to check it out with finals seasons going on. The ambiance of the place is so cozy and welcoming! Definitely has a lot of dim lighting but I went there during the day so it didn't bother me. Ordered the honey cream latte on recommendation from the barista. It was rich, decadent and had a coffee kick without being overly sweet. Definitely does have a fair share of cinnamon which could be overwhelming at times. My friend got the iced bennu which I also loved and was definitely a lot stronger with hints of pecan. The Wi-Fi code didn't work for me but the work I had didn't really require it for me so I enjoyed the place and will definitely be visiting again! read more

Let me just start by saying, Bennu has been a place where I have spent COUNTLESS of hours since I was a freshman at UT to now a Senior. I want to showcase my appreciation for their hard work of being one of the only late-night // 24 hours coffee shops in Austin. Sometimes I don't want to study at home or at the university and Bennu has been there for me through it all. I have visited all of their locations but my favorite has to be their East Austin location! The parking isn't the best and the curve on the entrance almost fucked my jeep (but that might be on me cause hitting curves was a hereditary trait from my mom) but the vibes inside are perfect for getting work done. I love LOVE L O V E the dim lighting! This might be an unpopular opinion but I do NOT like bright lights when I study especially when i'm working on my computer. This Bennu in particular has the best ambiance for late night studying. I also love how comfy their couch chairs are. Perfect for my back after rotting my brain on the computer for hours. But I wish i could give them 100 stars for how many ports they have. They are basically coming out of the roof (literally). You can charge your laptop ANYWHERE! It's perfect. I like the concept of having to get something every three hours to get the internet password because that gives me an excuse to feed my caffeine addiction. Plus i don't mind having to support a coffee shop that is open so late. I have tried everything from their chai lattes, italian sodas, cold brews, etc., but my favorite things has got to be their lattes. Their mocha latte in particular is very good. The Scarlet Letter (Mexican mocha) is delightful. Sounded like I would be overwhelmingly sweet, but it was not. Well made and well balanced flavors. Real whipped cream, also not overly sweet. Stopped by hear while walking around the area for the Austin studio tour (definitely look into that!). It was a chilly day so stopping in for a coffee sounded like a great idea, and it was! They have a lot of fairly unique options, especially for their mochas. I was tempted, but felt autumnal so got a pumpkin spice latte. This, however, tasted pretty differently from other PSLs, in a good way. It tasted much more like a pumpkin pie. I just wish they were closer so I could go back and try more of their coffees! The iced matcha latte with almond milk was decent but not the best I've had. They only offered it in 16 oz size. The service was friendly and nice. However, the cashier did ask very loudly if I wanted to tip which gave me a lot of pressure. I was not the biggest fan of the interior design. It was dark and gloomy. They did have an outdoor seating, but their staff members did frequently take cigarettes smoke breaks outside. They offered free wifi, but they gave me a code for it that would only last 3 hours for 1 device only. The code was different for each person. read more
