Came and got my nails done by Thao and she was so sweet. I've always been self conscious of my nails because I bite them when I'm anxious. I also work with flowers, plants and horses so my cuticles, skin and nails are usually in really bad shape. She told me they look great and have a nice shape which made me feel good haha. The studio is small and wasn't super busy which was nice. They don't use harsh chemicals which is so great because you don't have a head ache and you know it's safe for you and the workers to not be around them. About to go in for my second nail appointment here. Don't think I'll go to any other nail shop but here, especially when you have a very thorough nail friend like CASSANDRA. This lady is amazing! She will make your designs come to life. I came to her with an idea that I've been wanting to get for my nails. I had a bad nail experience prior to seeing her, so I've been just doing my own nails at home and letting them grow out. The last set I did was an acrylic set and I let it grow out and came to see her so she could fix me all up. She did this French/ombré chrome design and I loveeeedddd it! She texted me after telling me that my design was so popular that tons of her clients had asked for it too, which made me so happy! I've had this current set for a whole month now and due to my clumsiness I have broken 2 nails and now I have to go back so Cassandra and work her magic. Also my nails have grown out so quick! I received so many compliments at work and even had a customer go home and try to replicate my nails too I will follow Cassandra if she ever leaves! Also, because this place is vegan friendly... this spot has NO SMELL. I would get such huge migraines going to the other nail shops bc I can't stand the smell. I walked by Lollipop once and was very intrigued. My husband bought me a pedicure as a treat since he knew I wanted to try it out. It was incredibly overpriced for what it was. No chairs so your feet soak in a small plastic tub while sitting on a very uncomfortable sofa with no arm support. They tout handmade scrubs - it's almond oil and almond meal. I can make that at home. Their schtick is vegan and healthy; I can get 5 free nail polishes at the place I usually go to, or bring my own. Not to mention they did not have a very great selection. My 5 minutes (total, for both feet) massage was very underwhelming. The whole 30 minutes was underwhelming. Shaping was decent, one of my nails is lopsided, but the (lovely) girl who helped me left paint on the skin. I had to do additional cleanup when I got home. It just wasn't worth $35. I could have done the same job at home for free. They are catering to a very specific demographic of women who have more money than sense and buy into fads. I will be sticking to my $22 Asian place down the street, thank you. read more

I passed by Lollipop while walking through The Camp and thought the salon was cute and (most importantly) so clean. I made an appointment to try this nail salon and returned a week later. The girl who made my appointment was polite and gave me an overview of the salon. I learned that the salon sterilizes all its tools, believes in organic and non-toxic polish, and hand makes all its scrubs. The prices were average and so I was excited to return. On the day of appointment, I walked and and was greeted. I picked out a color. There were three brands of nail polishes, and all three were organic and one was even water-based. So interesting! The manicure itself was very average and actually disappointing. The manicurist went through filing, shaping, clipping, and removing of yucky cuticles. This is where we get dicey. Although she meant well, she clipped the cuticles a bit too deep and I had to pull my hand back. I usually don't have my cuticles clipped but thought there was a lot of build up with the dry weather. Afterwards the manicurist told me that I actually didn't have much cuticle at all. Yikes. I was looking forward to experiencing their homemade scrub but my manicure didn't include it at all. :( After painting, my manicurist cleaned up any excess paint. I was horrified to see that the salon was using acetone. I thought acetone was bad/not organic. Butter London uses non-acetone products so I was really surprised. I also learned that the organic polishes are a bit difficult to work with and the manicurist has to work quickly to paint. I'm not sure if it was the paint or technique, but the polish was uneven. It was thick from the middle to the tip of the nail but then thin at the base of the nail. I loved the concept of a clean and organic salon, but for reasons said above, I I don't plan on returning. Love the concept of this place and the girls do a great job, but the lack of 5 stars is because the place needs a good cleaning. The furniture needs to be cleaned or replaced. The cabinet doors around the shop are quite dirty as well (a little stainless steel cleaner would do the trick). These little things make it a less enjoyable experience as it feels dirty. It won't keep me from coming back as I am a long time customer, but it has prevented me from referring friends to check it out. read more

There are so many beautiful colors and shades and there are Vegan nail polish options. Also this store carries a nice selection of colors from Hopscotch Kids which is a brand of nail polish that is safe for children because it is non-toxic and water-based. The children's manicures are 15$ with complimentary nail designs! Everything that is used here is a lot more mild than what is used in most nail salons. You know that pungent smell at some nail salons that make you worry about how many brain cells you're losing each minute? Yeah, you won't find that here! They don't use pure acetone in their nail polish remover even when removing gel nail polish. Everything that they used for me had a much lighter smell and was usually paired with a pleasant scent. The woman who did my nails did an amazing job. She was very gentle and her hand massage was amazing! There's nothing I hate more than getting a manicure and getting skimped on my hand massage. Also, the treatment that is used on your skin during the manicures and pedicures is all organic and feels amazing. She was so meticulous during my manicure and the end result was indicative of that. I was very impressed with the job she did and she was a delight to talk to. I will definitely become a regular at this store! read more

First, let me say. I'm VERY picky. We came here last year because we were in the area. A friend of mine who lives in Costa Mesa referred this salon to us. This is by far the best nail salon I have ever been to. We walked in and it smelled amazing. We didn't have appointments, but the owner, Jackie who sweeter than pecan pie, was accommodating and took us anyways. This salon has NO FLAWS. She creates her own scrubs, everything is sanitary and the technicians all speak english.They have some great polish selections and was very organized. Everyone was sweet and made our visit even more enjoyable. Jackie even bought us cookies because we were celebrating our anniversary. everything was perfect. Yes, this place was a little more expensive than your "typical" salon. However, you get what you pay for. So, for anyone who is complaining or just nagging, you're entitled and go to the nail salon across the street. Don't ruin this for anyone else. Everyone must go and check this amazing salon out. Would rate this 5 stars, but took off a star for nail polish that still scraped off despite a very long process of air drying, not anything more than what it would usually take for polish to dry. I love that they use polish that avoids harsh chemicals. I love that they are easy to communicate with since English is their first language. They are also very friendly, upbeat and easy going and accomodating. I brought my tween daughter in for a standard mani pedi. They did excellent filing and shaping and applying of polish and offered a single nail design for each hand/foot, which is nice and included in standard pricing ($14/15 per mani pedi). I will be returning due to the customer service, safe polish/products and quality of worksmanship but they should maybe offer a quick dry spray or perhaps a drying fan like most places do to really set the nail polish before they say that you're good to go. read more

Highly recommend Lollipop Nail Salon. I loved the fact that you make an appointment and they give you their undivided attention and pay attention to small details. You have peace of mind that all the instruments are sterilized properly and the feet basins are lined with a clean removable liner. I hosted a work event here for some clients and it was perfect! I was able to reserve the salon for a private party which was exactly what I wanted. The manager made sure we had plenty of staff so that everyone felt very attended to. The decor is super cute as is but they provided balloons, set up the food I had catered, tubs for champagne and wine I brought in and made everyone feel comfortable. The set up was perfect for a mixer. Everyone was able to chat and was relaxed. The staff is talented, friendly and super attentive. There are also really cute accessories, books and cards for purchase too which I loved. This would be a perfect place to host a birthday or other events! I think my nails might actually be ruined. I did not even stay for the polish because the gel removal was so disturbing. She literally scraped off my nail and rubbed the nail down to the skin- my fingers are raw. I was there for over an hour and they only got to clipping and filing my nails for my manicure, and they were so jagged, uneven, and messy I ultimately decided I could not stay for the full manicure. My finger tips are literally in pain. I had super high hopes for this place but will not be returning and honestly need to go probably get a strengthening treatment or something because my nails are ruined. read more
