First impression sitting inside was the smell of stale beer usually associated with dive bars and sticky floors. Service was slow and we had to ask for a menu 5 min after being seated and no one coming to the table. Food was unremarkable my daughter had the ban mi sandwich which was more bread than anything else. My "dinner" salad (Mediterranean) was light on lettuce, something I'll never understand, being cheap with lettuce on a salad that is supposed to be a meal. Lompoc has a nice vibe...it's centrally located but on a quiet side street with outdoor seating. Good local beers on draft...try the Coal Porter. Service is a little slow, so don't come here if you are in a rush. We shared a bowl if fish chowder (very good) and both had the pan-seared Hake which was OUTSTANDING! If you are looking for a non-touristy place for a meal and a beer in Bar Harbor, this is a good choice. read more

We ate dinner here on Friday evening and had a great time! Cute little garden area, which we were able to eat in (covered area) despite the rain. I wasn't too hungry so stuck with soup and salad. Salad was a basic garden dressed up with sweet corn and house made mint vinegarette. Lobster caprese salad was great too. Corn chowder was flavorful and not overly creamy. We had dinner here our third night in Bar Harbor and it was definitely the best of the dinners we had. It is more casual fare but not ordinary. Fresh ingredients. Cocktails, appetizers, salads, and sandwiches are interesting and delicious. We had appetizers of pickled vegetables and "beehive" goat cheese with roasted garlic and a drizzle of honey (exceptional). I tried the cocktail made with kombucha and it was deliciously refreshing. read more

I love this place, I've been coming since they opened many many years ago! That's why I was so disappointed with my usually delicious chicken Caesar salad last night. The romaine was chopped into tiny chunks and it was SOGGY, and mostly consisted of the rib portion of the leaf, yuk! There was hardly any dressing, or flavor for that matter. The grilled chicken, usually served hot and slightly charred in slices across the top, was room temp as well, and the flavor was nothing. Bleeeeechhh. I should have sent it back, but I always hesitate to be the PITA customer. Lompoc, I know it's August, the tourists are here, but seriously??? On the good side, they've got a great selection of local beer on tap, and often have good live music. read more

Food is really good, the chef is quality- and portions are big. Some things are heavy on the garlic but I like that. Service was excellent, our waitress had some really helpful suggestions. Amazing! Was in Bar Harbor for the weekend and wanted to steer clear of the "tourist traps" ... This was beyond perfect and exceeded my expectations. Made a reservation (recommend doing this) and were seated promptly. Our server was very efficient and friendly and gave great recommendations on local beers. We ordered the goat cheese/honey/garlic starter and the goat cheese fritters and they out of this world. We actually said we wished we had ordered more of them because they were so tasty. Make sure you try them! The entrees were great and I don't want to take away from them but the starters stole the show. You will not be disappointed if you go. read more

Popped in for dinner and would definitely visit again. We absolutely loved the outdoor atmosphere! The food was great too. We ordered the veggies and peanut sauce appetizer, and When Beats Cry salad, both of which were amazing! We also ate two of their pizzas; Major Tom and the Chase. Again, both were wonderful!! What a great find! The atmosphere is casual and friendly and the food was excellent. The only thing that kept this from being a 5-star review was the spicy slaw. It was too hot for my husband (and he really enjoys heat). There should be a better explanation of just how spicy it is. However, everything else was delicious. It's all made from scratch in-house (except the breads which are made from scratch across the street) and you can tell. We started with the Beehive (roasted garlic goat cheese, apples, and toasted bread drizzled with honey). Outstanding! I loved my lamb shawarma and side salad. With the exception of the spicy slaw, my husband really enjoyed his pulled park sandwich. The kids had burgers and tenders that looked tasty and fresh. Had a pretty good meal here this August. Was a Friday night but got seated quickly. We shared the Dijon Mussels (yummy) and Goat Cheese Salad (just ok) followed by the Pesto Pizza. We didn't play Bocce but it was interesting to have it going on in the background. Could have turned the music down a little (oops, if it's too loud am I too old?????) By far the best restaurant in Bar Harbor. The only thing I asked for for my birthday this year was the famous "Beehive." A delicious combination of whole roasted Garlic, goat cheese, and honey... the Chef even served it with a birthday candle :) The menu is different from most on the island, and every dish is made to perfection. I read the good reviews and was excited to try this. The service was fast but the food took forever to come. We ordered the mussels which were okay. After that everything was downhill we ordered $21 steak, the steak was well flavored but cold, the snap peas were old and stringy on top of that they were burnt on one side and raw on the other. The potatoe salad was freezing ( unpleasently). We also had the lobster cakes , very little lobster, the rest was undistinguishable and almost slimey. We mentioned a couple of these issues to the waitress and she said she would inform the chef but never mentioned what the chef said. Very disappointed after very high expectations from previous reviews. I love eating out and am pained that this is the most negative review I have given. Very nice outdoor seating-- got tired of children heaving bocce balls all over the place, but having the bocce court is probably fun for older kids. Ate here on a Friday night. Excellent find in a touristy town that isn't overwhelmingly touristy. The restaurant has both inside and outdoors seating; highly recommend sitting outside with the lighted trees. Live music at 10pm and bocce ball court outside keep the place entertaining. The staff were extremely friendly and nice. Excellent draft beer selection. Recommend the Bang Bang Chicken sandwich (siracha and honey). Great dinner. We enjoyed: homemade jerky, veg and pita with peanut sauce, homemade dilly beans, a bang bang, a shrimp po boy, a chicken caesar salad, and a pizza. Finished off with a slice a blueberry pie a la mode (the pie was from across the street at Morning Glory Bakery). Everything was delicious. We were able to get a table in the covered outdoor seating area and live music (a guitarist playing some mellow music), which was wonderful. Only minor issue was that service got pretty slow once the restaurant filled up. Otherwise, a really enjoyable experience. Would definitely go back. read more

We walked this gem and gave it a try. Surprisingly this place was so good! We have kinda got enough of lobsters and wanna have some local style food. The menu has we want: salad, pizza, sandwich and a bunch of very nicely done appetizers. We had warm pita with peanut dip, southern style salad with grilled chicken (black meat chicken seasoned perfectly and grilled to golden crispy color), and a pizza, paired with Lompoc Punch cocktails, a delicious homemade citrus style cocktail that I enjoyed very much (only $6!!). Recommend to sit outside. They have a Bocce game field, which is interesting to play in group. read more

Was excited to see a cafe named after my hometown. Went in to find out if the place was named after Lompoc California. The bartender had such a poor attitude about the proper pronunciation. When I walked out he started making fun about people who was from Lompoc. The food may or may not be good but the employees have poor people skills and unable to work with the public who pay their wages. read more
