We visited the Lone Spur Cafe in March of 2013 and we can't wait to go back. The food was fabulous and portions so large, we often shared a meal. The staff were friendly and service was first class. Breakfast and lunch service offered great menu selection and their prime rib on Friday night...the only night they are open for dinner service...was delicious. I really don't get why people come here and rate it above a four... The food is always cold, they butter the crap out of the eggs and toast even when you ask them not to. If your only a table of two they don't even give you good customer service because their not going to get that big tip out of you. Went to Lone Spur Cafe over the 4th of July weekend. The place was packed but the service and food were great. This place is a must if you are looking for a solid breakfast in a great atmosphere. Long time favorite place to visit when we are back in Prescott. This was the first time we had lunch. Had the cowboy chili which was hearty and full of plump kidney beans and meat-very tasty. The hamburgers are well-sized and hearty. We had the Swiss and mushroom burger and a cheeseburger with bacon. All burgers were juicy and made with half brisket and half chuck. The food and the service was great but I will never return. The dining experience was negatively impacted by an extremely unprofessional event. Near the end of our meal, the two young girls in our group asked their mom if they could have refills for their milk. When the mom asked the waitress if there was an additional charge, she said no, left our table, and returned with a container of milk. When the waitress began to pour the milk, another waitress, I assume the boss, came to the table, and very rudely told our waitress, "no we don't do refills." The boss waitress then walked away in a huff with no apology for interrupting our waitress who was trying to do what she thought was the right thing. We were all stunned and I felt embarrassed for our waitress. The boss should have let the waitress continue to pour the milk and later taken her aside, out of ear shot of any patrons, and explained the policy. Considering that our tab was over $70, I don't think the waitress' mistake would have resulted in a great profit loss. Had young children not been present, I would have personally addressed my concerns with rude waitress and let her know that she lost any future business from my family. First rule of good management, never reprimand an employee in the presence of others. read more

We were doing the tourist thing in Precott and found our way here. The food -- chorizo scrambles -- was well prepared and plentiful. The restaurant didn't earn 5 stars because it was a bit loud (we were near the kitchen, even though the restaurant wasn't crowded), and the staff seemed more harried than friendly. read more

Really good breakfasts. I always take out of town guests to Lone Spur for breakfast at least once. The ambience is great, it typifies the old town Prescott vibe. Guests could never mistake their location, my family always mentions this breakfast as one of the highlights of their visit. If you check out the menu online don't let the prices turn you off. Yes, it's a little high for a neighborhood place but wait until you see the quantity of food on your plate! One breakfast can easily feed two or take your leftovers home for a late lunch. And it's so good. They actually know how to cook eggs. Treatment of scrambled eggs is a common complaint of mine, I don't want runny, raw eggs but I don't want them dry either and their eggs are perfect. The breakfast meats are good quality and super flavorful. Then there's the service, management must treat the staff well because they all seem to enjoy working there, their enjoyment translates into excellant service. read more

It's not east to find a good spot that serves lunch at a "lunch hour pace", however the Lone Spur has proven me right again when it comes to recommending a good restaurant. I believe my words were something along the lines of " the food appears like magic from the kitchen " and it did, and "magically delicious".....maybe i should save that phrase for an Irish establishment.?... regardless, the food must be ready in hopes that someone will order it ??? within two minutes of placing our order with Lisa, the salad arrived, a cold, crisp salad with a chunky blue cheese dressing ( the old way) and our server even offer a wasabi ranch on the side just to try. Five minutes later the entree's arrived just as ordered, a Rueben, toasted and served melty hot with fresh shoestrings and a tangy 1000 island dressing, across from me was served a "Big Salad' that actually dwarfed the big salad (using lower case letters) that I serve at my own Cafe'. the quick service actually left time to consume, and converse at a human pace. The price was good and IF I had a complaint, it would be that here was "too much"....but is that ever really a problem when the food is good? read more

Best breakfast in Prescott. Awesome comfort food or you can go healthy. Great variety of food options and a real western motif atmosphere. The Cowboy Benedict rocks. We also like to build our own omelet to share so we split the "cowboy-size" and have plenty of food at a great price. Their country potatoes are fabulous. Best biscuits and gravy ever - seriously. They put big pieces of sausage in the gravy that makes it so yummy. Any dish with their ham, bacon or steak is a winner. Ask for "Sheriff Ken's" section. On special days, they have a filet mignon eggs benedict which we also highly recommend. The service is always great. I was reminded of this place today. I've been there once and I will never return! Two years ago a loved one in our family was gravely ill and was at the Prescott hospital. After sitting bedside at the hospital I took a friend advice and left to get a bite to eat. As I sat in the booth with my friend I was sobbing and trying to "pull myself together" to read the menu. When the waitress approached our table she noticed I was crying and gave me a look of disgust. At that moment I should have left but I stayed, after ordering a good 15 minutes later. (I was so upset even choosing breakfast was difficult.) the entire time we were there this waitress was rude, condescending and acted as if we were a nuisance. Mind you, were seated at the very back of the EMPTY restaurant! I could not believe the lack of compassion or basic human emotion this middle aged woman displayed. Stopped in for breakfast and ordered drinks, veggie omelette and huevos rancheros. We only had the drinks since the internet was down and the ipad the servers use were not working. We waited 45 minutes before they posted a sign that they could not take credit cards and that our food would be out on the fly. Ten minutes later no food so we left. Sorry that the poor waitress had to communicate this as the manager/supervisor/person on cell phone messing with the wireless router was not talking to guests or the kitchen. Next time try the paper and pencil/pen method for order taking. It is very cutting edge I have even seen it in use in the big city of Mayer AZ where we got some food while heading back to Phoenix. read more
