Have never had a Grilled salad, and the grilled romaine was phenomenal My friend had the grilled chicken sandwich, and the bread, basil spread and dressing they added tasted so good- going back soon to get that meal! The playground was so much fun for the kids, huge and really unique. Came for a girl's lunch and had the best time. Hostess staff was very friendly and very nicely answered my questions as it was our first time here. I arrived at 11:03 and there was already a line to get in. This place very much consumes the "kid friendly" aspect. We decided to sit inside and had a really good time. The atmosphere was very trendy western style. We ordered drinks, apps and main courses. I had the LW margarita and it was delicious. The queso, hunny rolls, and the pepperoni hot honey pizza. All fantastic! I didn't care for the cavier potatoes but that's just because I'm palette isn't that sophisticated enough. We have already made plans to come back. We did walk outside to see the exterior setting and it's what you would expect from a place with a playground. Loud, kids running around, and parents not paying them attention. But if you're looking for a more quiet meal...sit inside. Completely different vibe. We will be back for sure. read more

We booked a company dinner for 19 people at The Long Weekend in Houston and decided to try a little bit of everything since it was a group setting. We ordered their rolls, jalapeño bombers, skewers, deviled eggs, and queso as appetizers. For the main courses, I had the elk burger and my wife had the rotisserie chicken. Both were very lackluster. The elk burger had a little flavor, but the bun fell apart and it didn't come with fries (which was surprising at that price point). My wife's chicken was quite bland -- we honestly make better rotisserie chicken at home. Other colleagues tried a variety of dishes, and the feedback across the table was consistently just "OK." For how crowded and hyped this new spot is, the food simply didn't live up to the expectations. The prices felt especially high for the quality we received. The parking lot is large but fills up quickly because of the adjoining restaurants and gym next door. Our server was friendly, but service was extremely slow -- we waited over an hour just to be asked for our dinner order. The food also came out very inconsistently: one person received their chicken 15-20 minutes before anyone else, then half the table was served, and the rest of us about 10 minutes later. Overall, it's not a place I'd return to. The cost is definitely not worth the food or the experience. read more

Came here on a Saturday around noon and was able to be seated right away with a group of 5 adults and 2 kids inside (outside was full). Service was slow to get food and it all came out at different times. Food was pretty decent though. Loved the rolls! We also ordered pancakes from the attached cafe (you have to go there and order to go) and they were pretty good as well. Other little things to note - for such a kid friendly establishment, I did not see a baby changing table in the women's restroom. It also would have been nice to have garbage cans near the bathroom sinks (they were only in the stalls) so that you had a place to throw away a dirty diaper without having to wait for a stall to open up. Overall would come back for the opportunities it provides for kids, but hope with more time they are able to get better with wait times. read more

I went as a party of 8 to Long Weekend on Sunday morning and had a wonderful experience. We sat outside so the grandkids could play, but with the fans and covered patio, we were very comfortable. Our sweet waitress, Kelsey, made sure we had plenty of ice water and kept checking in on us to see if we needed any condiments, more drinks, or take home boxes. We went on a Friday night not knowing how chaotic and crazy it was going to be. I felt bad for the servers who were running around and working their butts off. Unfortunately, we had an awful waiter-one who didn't really seem to care and I saw him standing in the corner most of the time. It was the worst service I've ever received at any restaurant. He had seen us and walked by several times without greeting. We had to ask the young man who brought us our waters who our waiter was, only to find out it was the guy who kept walking past us. We had to ask for every little thing. A drink menu (which he said he would and never brought). We had to ask for plates and utensils to eat our food. All the food came out at different times but we all just sat there while the food got cold cause we had no silverware. Ordered a pizza that never came so I had to ask to get that comped. And I ordered a drink that came at the very end of the meal as I was paying so I also asked to get that comped cause I wasn't going to chug a $18 cocktail. I also noticed a 3% service charge on the check. Of the food we did get, it was decent. I got the filet and my husband got the elk burger. We didn't want to order anything else cause we wanted to leave and everything was taking a very long time. They have a lot to work on if they want patrons to keep coming. read more

I have been here twice. First time was better food. Second time, it really went down hill with service (they made us move to accommodate a larger party), they never gave us a new server until I got up. They over charged drinks, food items, and went back and fourth with food. And then now checking my credit card statement they charged me twice so I will be disputing this as I didn't eat there twice in the same day. Terrible service, burger was way over cooked. We went to the cafe in the morning and it was a great experience. We ordered "to go" at the counter and then took our food to their outdoor playground, where our kids played while we enjoyed our coffees and breakfast. It was lovely. I have heard that dinner here can be crazy, but breakfast was relatively chill. Our kids had a blast. Our coffees were great. The breakfast burrito was really good, and the Cowboy Breakfast was solid as well, eggs were cooked perfectly. Food came out relatively quickly also. The place is new, so let's give some grace. The waiter who served us didn't know the types of beers. I asked for a wheat beer, and he didn't know what that was. He confused the beers and gave us the wrong beers. Let's provide some training. The carbonara was awful. They had a live performance; however, we couldn't hear the singer or ourselves. The food... had great presentation, but lacked flavor. We started off with blue crispy tacos nothing great tasting about them. Basically 3 mini blue fried tortillas with ground beef that basically almost had a taco bell flavor with some cheddar cheese. I asked for the sauce on the side as the waiter could not tell me what the sauce base was I played it safe... to me it was a ketchup base with seasoning in it. Not my preference. Also ordered the wrangler burger to be cooked "medium" came out well done and burnt. The meat was dry and had no flavor whatsoever. All sides are sold separately so I ordered onion rings. Bad choice they were over cooked and the onion was practically cooked to not exist. We also ordered bbq wings the sauce was good. Others at the table had macaroni, steak plate which the compost butter didn't even melt and she said her steak was lukewarm but tasted good. I understand it's busy and I'm not complaining on waiting but the food was not worth the wait. The drinks... the espresso martini with vodka had a nice taste. Only bad thing was my waiter took too long to get my drink from the bar it was warm. Hubby said his Jack and coke was stiff. The kids in uniform did receive free vanilla ice cream. This place is a spot to bring huge groups or just yourself. The outside area is beautiful. The overall atmosphere reminds me of being in the hill country. The cocktails are fantastic and LOVE the deviled eggs and steak skewers. It's their first day open so naturally they're working out the kinks with service and how to expedite drinks and food - but regardless, they've got something going on. The kids area is nuts cool too - if you have a kiddo, there's an entire section dedicated. This place will become a staple I can feel it. read more

They should not let more people in than they can serve. Great concept, menu and atmosphere. I went there today and the restaurant was packed. They were not ready or staffed to handle the number of guests. It took 30 minutes to see a waiter and 1 hour to get our ice cold food. They only take reservations for tables of 8, but would be better off taking reservations for all. That way they can be prepared for how many are showing up. I want Long Weekend to be successful, but today's experience was awful. The kitchen was so overwhelmed they quit taking food orders. Everyone in the restaurant waited an hour or more to get their food. They need to call timeout and come up with a new game plan! Taste of Texas knows how to do this. read more

Honestly was super disappointed. Witnessed a health code violation, food was not great, cold, and took absolutely forever. The poor servers seemed completely overwhelmed and it was impossible to get anything we needed. I was really disappointed with my experience at this restaurant's grand opening. My husband, daughter, and I waited in line for about 30 minutes outside, along with several other families, including babies and young kids, in the heat. During that entire time, not a single staff member came out to greet anyone, acknowledge the line, or even say thank you for waiting. For a grand opening, I would have expected at least some level of hospitality, even something as simple as offering water or letting people know how long the wait might be. Instead, there were around eight staff members near the front who appeared to be chatting among themselves while customers continued waiting outside. It also seemed like there was a private party happening inside, because multiple groups were allowed to walk right past the line and go in ahead of everyone who had been waiting. That was frustrating and made the process feel very disorganized and unfair. As someone who works in sales and values customer experience, I was really unimpressed with the lack of communication and welcoming atmosphere. First impressions matter, and unfortunately this one didn't leave a good one. read more

The atmosphere is fun and lively but still relaxed enough that you can easily carry on a conversation without shouting across the table -- which we really appreciated. Our server Felix was fantastic. He was friendly, professional, and incredibly organized. He handled our large table like a pro, got every drink and food order exactly right, and managed all of our individual checks with ease (not an easy task for a group of ten!). We visited during their soft opening and had a great experience overall! We got there right at 5:00 and were able to get a table quickly, but it definitely filled up fast as the evening went on. It's a brand new spot and clearly very popular already, so I think it's important to come with a little patience as they navigate opening up. The staff did a really nice job communicating when there were delays, which is totally understandable during a soft launch. Everyone was friendly and working hard, and it showed. The space itself is awesome. There's a coffee shop inside, tons of indoor seating, and two really nice bars. The outdoor area is massive and such a great spot for families. Our kids loved the playground - it's really unique and thoughtfully designed. There's even a small stream running through the area, which is super cool, though it might be worth adding a little gating since a lot of the kids were leaning over the edge. One thing I really appreciated is that there's also outdoor seating off to the side for people who may want to enjoy the space without being in the middle of the kids' area. It feels like they really tried to create something for everyone. The food was really tasty, and Matthew, our server, was incredible - attentive, friendly, and made the experience even better. If you buy something from the cafe they offer you patio seating (they don't mention anything about literally kicking out of your seat mid fork in mouth if a restaurant patron comes.) my husband and I got kicked out of our seats and told we couldn't sit anywhere else even tho we bought nearly $100 worth of food from the cafe to eat outside. No one else had been asked to move from their seats (surprise surprise we were the only minority presenting individuals). The host asked me 3 times in the 2 minutes that I was packing up if I could get up. The servers/bartenders are very friendly (we asked for a table after getting kicked out of our table, we were there to let our son have a good time which is why we decided to stay after the hostess was so ugly and un-accommodating to us, the server was awesome!). Busser staff is also very kind. Maybe it was just a prejudice/poorly trained hostess alone but it's enough for me to stop going and let my son's heights based private school know not to do any of the events we were interested in hosting here. read more
