LongHorn Steakhouse is decent overall. I ordered the Parmesan Crusted Chicken, and I felt like my food was a bit too salty. The asparagus in particular was overly salty and also a little soggy for my liking. I prefer my asparagus to have a bit of a crunch. I also ordered the Parmesan Crusted Spinach Dip. The pita bread that came with it was very soft and fresh--really good. The dip itself was good as well, but again, just a little too salty for me. The Brussels were ok the flavor wasn't all over it and it was a bit buttery or something... On a positive note, they have some really good appetizers. The barbecue chicken bites are really good, and the shrimp on the appetizer menu (with the peppers) is definitely a standout. 9/10 Looking back, I probably would have tried something like the rice pilaf with shrimp and a potato--that looked like a more balanced option. Overall, LongHorn is a place I would come to more for the appetizers. I would just recommend they lighten up on the salt. It's not my favorite place, but it's good, and I would come back. read more

In their defense, they do mention upon ordering that their food is "bodly seasoned," and they allow you to have a less salter option if that's required due to a personal diet. My only complaint (which is a personal preference) is the huge flavor profile difference between their firecracker chicken bites and the firecracker chicken rolls. They are COMPLETELY different. I am a huge fan of their firecracker bites and decided to try their firecracker rolls. To my surprise, the flavor profile was nothing alike. It was very busy on a Saturday night, so they took our name and said about 30-40 minutes. We were seated within about 35 minutes. Our server was outstanding.... friendly and professional even though it was incredibly busy. The salads served with the entrees are a very good size and I ended up taking mine home so I could have room for my steak. It was the 8oz Renegade Sirloin which was cooked to a perfect medium rare. My sweet potato was a nice size and I had it with butter and passed on the brown sugar. The bread is fresh and served warm and was nice to have on the table as we waited for our meals. Met my friend for lunch here but I read the reviews on Yelp first and I was prepared. Thank god for Yelp because I knew to ask for my chopped steak with very light seasoning. I don't like really salty food. I had a choice of sides so I got the loaded baked potato. The service was excellent! Our waitress Lisa was very attentive. The food came out pretty quickly and was cooked perfectly and not too salty. The price was reasonable also at $13.99. We stayed and talked for about 2 hours and they did not rush us out. It was full but we were seated very promptly by a wonderful waitstaff named Zac. He was very attentive and courteous, we shared a delicious 20 oz ribeye steak which was medium rare as we specified. We came in with a party of 9. Even though the place wasn't packed per se, it took them almost 25 minutes to get us seated. The waitresses were friendly and tried their best but they didn't seem prepared to handle a large party. The drinks were quick to arrive, but it took them a rather long time to take our orders and then at least another 30-40 minutes for our food to arrive. I started to feel ill almost immediately after taking a few bites of my chicken. We took most of our food to go as the portions are huge. Without getting into too much detail, the next 24 hours was absolutely miserable. So I called the restaurant the following day and spoke to the manager, Jeff. I told him how I had food poisoning and he told me it couldn't be the food at their restaurant because they take pride in their food and his staff knows what they're doing. Pretty much telling me, 'yup, it was your fault and what you had earlier in the day'. My friend was also extremely ill and we had to throw out all of our leftovers. For a chain restaurant, I had a great experience here. It's large inside and most importantly, quiet! Loved that I didn't have to yell to be heard. We started off with a margarita and shrimp app. The marg was huge! Shrimp dish was also large with fried shrimp, peppers, and a yummy dipping sauce. My steak was delicious. Our server was pretty absent for most of the dinner but it was acceptable to say the least as it was a busy night. When it came round to paying for the bill I had two gift cards to which I told her about. She came back and gave us the bill with only one gift card used. We waited several minutes for her to return again and asked if she could apply the second gift card. She told us I'm thinking NO! and maybe come back another time to use it. Both were the worst, toughest pieces of beef I ever had. I could barely cut through it with a steak knife. I dont know where Long Horn gets their stakes from, but I go there and order the Flo filet all the time, and its....consistently....delicious, and cutting into it is like cutting thru butter. the seasoning is fantastic. and they their Caesar salad is outstanding also, their breadcrumbs arent rock hard like most places, but crumbly. I have been to NYC places like Peter Lugars and I would rather go to Long Horn quite frankly. i wish though they would bring back more of the specielty steaks like the one topped with crab/ shrimp and parmesan cream sauce. anyways its my fav steak place! read more

I got the outlaw steak and asked for it Medium Well, it came super done and charred beyond belief. I know the seasoning is bold but they tripled it this time. Next the season rice I ordered was left out of the meal all together. Got a fully loaded baked potato and it was Lobster tail I added to the meal was unbelievable chewy. First of all when you tell someone that there's a 35 minute wait, don't mislead people when it's an hour or more. Secondly, try washing your lettuce so the customer doesn't get grit in their mouth with every bite. Lastly, once seated and ordered don't make them wait another hour with some bullshit excuse from a manager that you know is just making a lame excuse. Birthday celebration for my mom with 9 adults and my 2-1/2 month old grandson in Camillus area without being too specialized in food choices and with good reviews for food and service had me searching for a bit. We had not been to this Longhorn in a while since we live in Liverpool and Clay is much closer, but mom lives in Camillus. I called about a half hour before our arrival at 5:30 on a Tuesday evening as a courtesy to the staff. We met and assembled at the bar and very soon after our table was ready. Large, round, and cozy, we were very happy with our seating. Andrew was fun, courteous, helpful, attentive, and accommodating to all of our needs and requests. We all ordered steak of one sort or another so glad I chose Longhorn. Steaks all cooked to perfection and sides delicious and plentiful as well. The loaded baked potato had healthy doses of all toppings, brussel sprouts were delicious and the birthday dessert was amazing! We all shared since we were beyond full with most of us taking home leftovers. We often support local restaurants although local workers are supported when we visit chains as well. Not many good (as in food and service) and affordable steak places in CNY, so this is a very good option. We appreciate the staff and will return! We wanted a restaurant with a decent selection so...since we had a coupon for a free appetizer - LongHorn it was. I'll make this short... The waitress asked if it was our first visit to which I replied- First time in a long time. The waitress then asked why, to which I replied - I can cook a better steak. I was right. I've had Pork Belly that was leaner and chewed on Squid Jerky that was more tender. The only redeeming factor was that our Waitress was very friendly, polite and all over the service. The service was spot on. BUT..... Needless to say, next time we will avoid LongHorn and elect one of the other 1/2 dozen restaurants that surround this LongHorn. read more

The wife and I decided to stop in and have dinner on a Friday evening. The place was not crowded probably because of lent. I had the ribeye steak and the wife had Parmesan encrusted chicken...both entrees were excellent...the chicken was well seasoned with a lot of cheese on it...the steak was cooked perfectly to medium-Rare...the sides were good, mashed potatoes and broccoli...however the broccoli had a lemon spritz on it that did not enhance the taste at all.
