    Renegade Sirloin #1

So basically I went with my family hoping for good steak, due to high prices. Me and one other ordered the "renegade steak" first up, one steak was obviously much smaller than the other. Secondly, when we cut our steak (we ordered medium rare) all I saw was JUST rare. My other guest found the steak fine just to find a completely raw center. We would have liked to have sent it back but we already waited enough to even get served. Another of our guests potato's wasn't properly cooked either. Would not come back. By the way, the Mac and cheese was very good and about the only cooked thing.

Celebrated my birthday here and the service was great the food was good except the baby back ribs were very dry but my ribs were replaced so everything were taken care of so overall a great experience will definitely visit again soon

The portion sizes were amazing. You will get full quick here! The food and drinks were good. I would highly recommend the Wild West Shrimp, and the Dragonfruit margarita! Our waiter was also very kind and attentive. Had a very pleasant experience!

Service impeccable, food has flavor and seasoned to protection. I went with a friend for her birthday. Ambiance was nice and quaint. I would come back again and recommend to others. Casual dress, varies choices to choose from and nice wine selection. They offered a small sample to help me find the one that paired well with my taste pallet. Come here with friends, family is or by yourself. You can't wrong and you will walk away sated and please.

It feels classic, casual, and full of character. Inside, the space is small with limited seating, which honestly adds to the charm. The order counter is right in front of you as soon as you walk in, with the main menu hanging directly above it and the daily specials posted on a whiteboard off to the side. It's simple, easy to follow, and feels like a place that knows exactly what it does well. During lunch there's usually a line out the door, so coming early is definitely a smart move if you can. That said, the line tends to move pretty quickly, and the staff keeps things running smoothly. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and happy to explain menu items if you need help deciding. I keep coming back for the brisket and pork ribs. The brisket is unbelievably tender--true melt-in-your-mouth barbecue. The seasoning leans pepper-forward, building a beautiful bark and giving it that bold, distinctive Texas flavor. The fat renders down so smoothly it's almost buttery, making every bite rich without feeling heavy. The pork ribs are just as impressive. They're tender and moist with that perfect bite, pulling cleanly off the bone without falling apart. The seasoning holds up beautifully against the smoke, giving each rib a deep, balanced flavor. One of my favorite things on the menu is the Sloppy Juan, a flour taco loaded with chopped brisket and finished with their homemade BBQ sauce. This is a good-sized taco, definitely not street taco size, and the tangy sauce pairs perfectly with the brisket. It lives up to the name with just enough messiness to make it fun without becoming a disaster. My favorite side is easily the Hill Country Potato Salad. Served warm, it eats like a baked potato that somehow got even better. It's comforting, rich, and the perfect match for the smoked meats. This is arguably my favorite Mex-Tex barbecue anywhere. The flavors are bold but still familiar in the best Tejas barbecue tradition. Zavala's really nails that balance between classic Texas smoke and Mexican-inspired comfort, and it makes the whole menu feel unique without ever trying too hard.

I picked it up on Wednesday and on a Thursday after heating it up as I unwrapped it was a Turkey breast. We were all looking forward to brisket but ate it since it was the only main entrée. I say this because after my experience with the manager Erin, she made me feel we were not suppose to eat it and return it in whole. I called on Friday since they were closed on Thursday. The manager asked me to bring the turkey breast leftovers I had so she could replace it with the brisket. I got upset and explained it's 1/2 gone. She said I understand but you need to bring it. I told her I would be there in 30 mins and hung up. I was in disbelief but still gave them the benefit I thought she needs to see prove. I arrived and the whole situation went horrible on their part. I maintained civil but now I regret it. A young lady acknowledge me and knew who I was. She took my turkey breast leftovers. I waited for awhile and I could see that Erin didn't know how to handle the situation because she involved other employees. I started to feel uncomfortable like all Earles were on me. I maintained my composure. And then Erin and another guy walked over to me, they didn't apologize nor seemed concerned as if they were being inconvenient. They just asked "You have your receipt". I showed it to them from my phone, she took my phone and observed as she expected me to be lying. I told her " I only ordered brisket not sure how they could get this wrong". She just mumbled, handed my phone and they all walked back to the prepping area. Waited for a bit finally she come to the front register and I walked over to her and she says "Was this the only order you had that day". Now I got upset and got loud told her "Yes it was my first and last time I will order from here". She then proceed to explain why the amount of brisket was being given to me. I cutt her off told "Let's just get this over with". I grabbed the bag and told her "I will be calling corporate and giving a review". Mostly I was disappointed and pissed at their behavior. I felt as if I did something wrong. They kept my leftovers, I don't understand that part. An apology goes a long way....sure didn't get one from management.

But hey, I'm not fussy--I came for the food! From my deep dive into Yelp, I knew the loaded potato was the must-order item, so that's exactly what I got, topped with brisket. Hubbs went for the two-meat plate, featuring the "meat of the day" (sausage) and ribs--mostly so we could sample it all. Morgan, the one-woman show running the place, recommended coleslaw and beans as sides, and both were excellent. That loaded potato? Absolute perfection, and their special sauce is indeed something special. The ribs were a bit on the salty side for me, but overall, we left happy and full. Best part?
