Tasty, but sweet. You'll need extra ice. I ordered the house salad, sweet potato and of course a steak (new York strip). Packed but still great service for a peak holiday. People were enjoying themselves and the place was full of laughter and good cheer. I visit a local Longhorn yearly in honor of my mother, it was her favorite restaurant. Have been to this establishment on a few occasions. Even came with my daughter and her friend who both work at one of the other locations. They both noticed so many things being done wrong and the food wasn't prepared the way it was asked to be. This visit was much better, the food was prepared just as I requested and my waiter was awesome, which is always apart of my review. It was busy since they had two birthday parties going on at the same time, so there was a little wait. I was surprised that at 8:30pm people were still coming in. The soup was good, as always but it seems like everytime its less and less soup. I just had mouth surgery and can only soft diet. I went out for a nice lunch today and Longhorn did not disappoint! I ordered the Renegade Sirloin, medium. It was cooked perfectly..flavorful, tender, and seasoned just right. My company ordered the Strawberry & Pecan salad and she absolutely loved it! The fresh strawberries, crunchy pecans, and leafy greens made for a refreshing and delicious combination. Me and a group of my co workers called ahead to get a table for the 9 of us and they said we would be on the wait list then we get there and they check us in and now say it will be 25 minutes even though we called ahead and they texted us saying they were ready for us. While in church, I placed my order for 12 noon. I ordered a sirloin steak, sweetpotatoes and a side salad. I got here about 5 minites to 12 and had not recieved my code yet. I pulled into curbside parking #2 and placed a call inside the restaruant for curbside oickup. Within in minutes, my order was ready and I was off to my next destination. The sald was fresh ans tantilizing. The steak was cooked to oerfection. The sweet potato was warm and tatsy with the cinnamon and melted butter. It was a fitting meal just before NFL football. This is my 2nd review of Longhorn. I don't go often but am NEVER disappointed! I went with friends for a Christmas outing: we ALL enjoyed it immensely. I had the filet, a loaded baked potato & a Caesar salad. All excellent. People around me had ribs, shrimp, NY strips, sirloins. Everyone was delighted! Good service. Great relaxed atmosphere. First class food. What more is there! We'll be back for the next celebratory occasion. I suggest you follow our example. It's more consistently good than Texas Roadhouse--they too have good meat but they're quality is not consistently good like Longhorn! What a wonderful meal. I found a seat at the bar about 4pm. I was starving as I had missed lunch. 1st on the agenda an Ice Cold Blue Moon and a few minutes to unwind and swipe my phone. I decided on a 6oz sirloin mid rare. Salad with blue cheese and a loaded backed potato. Basic but so delicious The bartender Billy was personable. I have been to this location a few times before. I decided to go here today for lunch. Parking was a little difficult to find, being that it's a shared parking lot. Left evening Mass, and felt like a good ole steak and potato night. Went to Longhorn and had a really nice experience. Friendly and customer oriented bartender took great care of me at the bar. Started with a wonderful Woodford Reserve Old Fashion. Nice hot bread preceded a delicious salad with homemade bleu cheese dressing, an incredible 22 oz bone in rib-eye cooked perfect rare, and a full blown perfectly cooked baked potato. The steak was a very strong grade with excellent trimming. The quality and value were excellent. My experience was perfect. We were in Jax for an overnight visit and a friend treated us to his favorite Longhorn Steakhouse for a steak dinner. We arrived a bit before the usual Saturday dinner rush and were seated in a clean, roomy booth immediately. Our waitress was lovely and attentive. I guess bread is optional now, because she asked if we wanted it. We said yes, obviously. I ended up eating 1/2 of the loaf myself, having had a bout of low blood sugar and using that as an excuse to scarf down that soft, warm delicious brown goodness. Our host insisted we have the Wild West Shrimp as an appetizer. So glad he did. I've had it before and it was as good as I remember. The shrimp themselves were not very spicy unfortunately, but had lots of different hot peppers mixed in, so you could just pop a pepper on your fork with a shrimp and it made up for the lack of heat. Soon, the steaks arrived. Both our friend and my husband had ribeye steaks with baked potatoes. They were both very satisfied with what they received and how it was prepared. I had the medium rare 6 oz sirloin with their signature macaroni and cheese. The mac & cheese was cheesy and decadent as always. The steak was perfect and I savored every bite. The only reason I give this a 4 and not a 5 star is that near the end of our dinner, the busboy at the booth across from us was cleaning the tabletop and started flinging debris with his cloth into the air, narrowly missing our friend. I started to wave down the manager who was coming our way, when I realized that he had already seen what had happened and was cleaning up behind him. Neither of them appeared to be bothered by it. My friend had not seen it and I decided not to possibly ruin the evening, so I let it be. I do agree that this is an excellent place for steak and understand why our friend takes my husband here when he's up here on trips. read more

So I guess I devoured my entree before I nabbed a picture...rookie move lol BUT it's probably because the food looked and tasted delicious! This was our first time eating at this restaurant even though it's conveniently located so close to home! The shrimp and lobster chowder is a definite must! The flavors worked together so well. I ordered the salmon with a white peach sangria and my husband ordered a steak and lobster meal. The food was cooked perfectly and portioned to perfection, as in, I had enough for leftovers lol which, let me tell you, the food was absolutely delicious and salmon still flaky when I reheated it the next day. We visit here a lot since it is right around the corner from our place. Great steak for a great price! It is hard to find a better filet than Flo's. And their molten lava dessert is divine. They have a rewards program that you can sign up for to get perks, so make sure you do that ahead of your next visit. Also, you can make reservations online, which I highly recommend considering it can get pretty busy. It's close to the Avenues on Southside, so it is in a decent area. The decor is pretty typical since it is a chain. And the servers have been pretty helpful and kind during our visits. We tried the cheesy mushroom appetizer for our first time this week, and I think it is a new staple. Delicious!!! Yet, our typical picks are always good too, a loaded baked potato, Caesar salad, and steamed broccoli. We order the ribs every once in a while too, and they are very good. Since it is a dedicated steak place for us, it is sometimes hard to switch on that protein, but worth it. And as previously mentioned, the price is reasonable compared to some places. Probably the worst ran Longhorn I've ever been to. Poor service, it's 7:30pm and they are deep cleaning all the booths in our section (seats ripped out and all). Tonight's dinner was absolutely terrible! First off, my mother in law put in a call ahead at 10 till 6 for us to have a table by 7:50. Mind you, this was for my father in laws birthday dinner. And we were a party of 5 adults and 2 kids. We never were seated till 830pm. At which point, we had asked if our table was ready yet and the hostess said that they were just wiping our table off. While going to the table I couldn't help but notice there were numerous tables that were empty and no one else appeared to be waiting. Hmm? So we sat down and waited for our waitress. After about 10 minutes, someone finally stopped by and said I'll be with u in a minute. Ok.....I get it...you're busy! At least we were acknowledged. Another 10 minutes goes by and she finally comes back. Never really greets us or even says her name....just "ok! R u ready?!" Brushed that off as my family was ready to order. Didnt ask if we wanted appetizers, just right into it. So around the table we went...so awkwardly so as it was my turn and I had ordered my meal, but didn't even realize I hadn't ordered my drink.....at which point she then reminded me. Everyone orders and she's off again. Another 10-15 minutes...drinks and bread finally showed up. Now....I'm sorry, but it annoys me when I have ordered a drink...and the waitress can't remember who ordered what drink...so it just gets passed around the table. Finally to me, took a sip of my Mr. Pibb and u could immediately tell it was flat. Looked bubbly...but tasted flat.....no sense complaining as I know there's nothing she can do about the carbonation....so I rolled with it. We all had some bread and waited. At this point, I started to get cold. So I put my jacket back on! I have to say, I understand keeping it cool as the wait staff is walking around and is warm, but so cold to the point that I have to wear a jacket while I am in a restaurant eating......well that's just too damn cold! Salads came out and I noticed my kiddos were starting to fade. Thought, oh food should be out soon. It is almost without fail for me to get through my salad before my meal is coming out....tonight I finished my salad before my food arrived. In fact it was another 25 minutes that had passed before it arrived. Both of my kiddos were asleep at the table and we all started to make comments about cancelling our food order and just charge us for what we already had. Mind you, we're also feeling like POPCICLES at this point cause it's so damn cold!! FINALLY!!! Food arrives. We made a comment to the waitress about how cold the building was and how long the food took. Excuse, excuse, excuse. "I was back there waiting for it" " all my tables are saying it's cold" "I have no control" yeah! No shit! But u do have control to get your manager and let them know what's going on. Anyway, we start eating.. and the food is mediocre at best! Asparagus were advertised to have a type of lemon sauce...more like oil...and the filet had so much pepper it was spicy. Granted it was cooked correctly as far as the temperature. Oh yeah...asparagus were tough and semi "woody". Barely ate those. Also had a big piece of the tendon in the center of my filet, which was pretty disheartening to find in a FILET! Server comes to check and we let her know it's not the greatest. And that we're annoyed for how long it took to come out. Here comes the excuse train again. Followed with...is there anything else u need? At which point my husband asked for the manager. This man, never complains....so for him to ask for the manager...that's really saying something! Manager comes over and starts into the excuse train as well. "Were understaffed" "the air is either full blast or it's off" "I've been to almost every table tonight" " we had to hold the door as our kitchen can't keep up". Just awful!!! Thought about sending a message to the store but honestly....I just wont go back! $100 for myself, my husband and my kids food (that is currently in our refrigerator since they both fell asleep and didn't get to eat dinner tonight).....and for it to take the 15 minute car ride home with my seat warmer and the heat at full blast in order for me to get warm.....it's just not worth it. And to top it off....never got to do the birthday cake for my father in law as it was so late and were all just so damn cold. So that will now wait for tomorrow. Which TODAY is his birthday.....NOT TOMORROW! Morale of the story.....1. Get ready to wait 2. Make sure you bring a jacket and your own space heater 3. If u like excuses, then you'll LOVE this place 4. Buisness keeps running like this, it won't be there much longer....that's for sure! 5.
