This is not just a restaurant, it's an experience for your tastebuds. The food is farm to table and the menu is curated by season. They do not offer take out or delivery, it's a dine in only restaurant. They take pride in the food that is served and it is made to perfection. A reservation is recommended, reservations can be made on open table. Dress code is business casual not enforced. Diners are required to have a ticket to the botanical gardens for 30 mins before the reservation. They do not validate parking and it is charged separate from the ticket to the gardens. The ambiance is great for a date, family dinner or business meets. It is moderately quiet. I highly recommend their soups, risotto, and the peach cobbler which is served in spring. The coffees here are also amazing. You cannot go wrong with any of the items on the menu. They cater to most dietary restrictions, there are a good amount of vegetarian and vegan options. There is a kids menu as well. The presentation and playing is impeccable. The staff is friendly and courteous. The quality is consistent and I've been here with friends and family as everyone has something on the menu they love. A day in the garden and a meal at Longleaf will definitely nourish your soul. Was walking around the botanical gardens and started to suffer from the heat and I just ran out of water. Luckily for me I see Longleaf is close by and open. So I go inside and ask for water. The host told me that I could go outside or ask at the cafe. So I go to the cafe and ask for water. Just tap water. Again I was sent outside. So I stumbled through the door and spent another 5 minutes looking for water. The water I found was hot and barely dripped out of the faucet. The only redeeming thing about this place is the Thor looking bartender who offered me water when I came back inside. Don't eat here. read more

This is a hidden gem inside of the botanical garden of Atlanta. I ordered a beet and strawberry salad with salmon and it was cooked perfectly and so flavorful. My husband also loved his meal. Incredible chef for a restaurant that is only accessible when you enter the gardens. That being said, I have been to many of botanical garden and I have to say this is the best one we have ever been to. It is 30 acres of incredible beauty and stunning exhibits. Came to Longleaf on a busy beautiful Saturday in Spring! We did not have a reservation and were very happy to only have to wait 45 minutes for a table for 5. The food was fantastic, beer was cold, and air conditioning was surprisingly nice to relax and enjoy lunch it. It is a gorgeous spring day about 72 and sunny blue sky. You can see greenery from the restaurant but no real garden. The server was kind and attentive. The prices are what you'd expect for a nice restaurant in the garden. We got a flatbread that I forgot to take a picture of that was incredible. The broccoli salad was sooooooooo yummy. My husband loved his smash burger too. We stopped at Longleaf after a long day in the Botanical Gardens. We made a reservation on OpenTable for 5 (including two kids), which was fairly easy. The reputation of this place proceeded it, which was part of the reason I was so excited to try it. The food was really good, especially the kids meals, which were small and affordable yet interesting and well thought out. I got a Chicken Caesar salad and it was delicious. It was also presented very well and reminded me from of something from a much fancier restaurant than a botanical gardens cafe. The downside of this place was the service, we waited for over 30 minutes for our meal. This would have been less of a problem if we were not dining with two young kids. They did bring out the kids meals first and I appreciated this thoughtfulness. All in all, this a gem. It's a great place for a date or a fancy lunch. Don't expect good service though. INCREDIBLE dinner. We got stuck in traffic due to a busy night for the Christmas lights and showed up to our reservation almost 2 hours late. We were so stressed out with all of it but as soon as we walked in we were greeted with the sweetest hostess i think I've ever met. She reassured everything was fine and gladly led us to our table. The waitress was 10/10. She filled our waters when needed but wasn't overbearing. The food was INCREDIBLE. We got the tartare, beet salad. Squid ink pasta and duck confit. Last night, four friends and I had dinner there, and everyone was happy with their meals except me. I ordered a dozen of the oysters (they are sold by the half dozen on the menu, but I love oysters.) They were tiny, which is not necessarily a bad thing. But they were drowned in a "gazpacho" that really didn't taste like anything. The bland sauce drowned out any taste of the oysters. The pomegranate refresh cocktail was refreshing and I would recommend it if you want something light 5/5. I was debating between the cheeseburger and the steak and frites. My server recommended the steak and frites and sold me when she said it was "dry aged" "cooked medium rare" "you won't get this anywhere else." I love steak, but I was so disappointed after barley eating this. It was hard to cut through it with a butter knife so I asked for a steak knife and even then it was SO HARD to cut through. We ended up paying over $100 for 2 glasses of wine($10 each), a coke($3), fried green tomatoes($15), shrimp carbonara($22), spring veggie plate($20), cheesecake bites($12), Angel food cake($12). Pretty pricey but I went in expecting it to be high. The only thing I would change is that they charge $3 for a bread roll. We tried for weeks in person and on the phone to make a reservation for dinner for 9 during the Holiday Lights event. No one EVER answered their phone and when there in person refused to take the reservation. Finally a kind soul at the Gardens took our reservation. This is a huge RIP OFF. Dinner last night at the Gardens restaurant. Reservation for 5:30. Seated promptly and by 5:35 one of the entrees was "out". We ordered from what they still had and WAITED AN HOUR for the food to arrive. THREE entrees of lobster tortellini came ICE COLD and had to be sent back. And they have the balls to charge us hundreds and hundreds of dollars for the 9 of us. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY AT THIS RESTAURANT. Their service and food are crap. If Garden had any pride, they'd dump this restaurant and put in a Burger King. At least you'd get a hot meal in under ten minutes that didn't cost $300 for 9. read more

I've been going to Longleaf for years because I love the garden, but yesterday was absolutely horrible! They have a new assistant, general manager, Bryce, who was so unbelievably rude to me, and my friend, that even the people who work there were shocked. My friend told the manager that her salad was extremely salty and perhaps it was the dressing. She asked if they could make a new salad and put the dressing on the side and he said that if they made her another salad she'd have to pay for two salads. He then put the old salad in a to go box and proceeded to put it in a bag and said she could do whatever she wanted to do with it. I was shocked that we were being so disrespected with the things he was saying to us, and how he was treating us. I could tell that the rest of the staff felt horrible for his actions. They told us that he had only been there a few weeks, and they gave us the general manager's name to let him know how we were treated. The shrimp was really good but the creole bbq was just balsamic sauce on bread. For dinner, we had the chicken pot pie and the short rib. The pot pie was good and a decent size. The short rib had good flavor, but was a little on the dry side. The polenta that came with the short rib was very good. For dessert, we had the egg nog creme brûlée. This is a cute little restaurant situated near the entrance of the botanical garden. You can recognize it by the gorgeous pottery that flanks the doorways to this mostly glass building. The open concept of the restaurant really lends to the ambience of dining in the middle of the garden. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. I was hosting a tea party, and they allowed me to bring in my own plates and helped me plate the prepared food I ordered. They allowed me to leave the set up with them while my party and I enjoyed the gardens. They do require a 2 dozen minimum order for premade food; a huge setback for a smaller party like mine. I've been to Longleaf several times and each time is a wonderful experience. The venue itself is located right in the middle of the gardens, which provides a great view of the Phoenix. During the pandemic the gardens are even more enjoyable as parties are spaced out and respectable of the distance required. The menu changes frequently here with the changing of seasons. Upon this visit I chose the crispy chicken sandwich on ciabatta bread - very good! I asked for no pickled red onion and instead had just plain pickles on the side. The chicken was moist and tender with a thin layer of breadcrumbs and seasoned fried coating, similar to panko breading. The salmon was cooked to perfection and paired with the corn and dressed frisée. Both meals were incredibly filling! Additionally, our server was an absolute delight. He provided great recommendations and continued to check on us throughout the entire time we were there, and encouraged us to take our time rather than feeling rushed. The first meal I had out in public since February. Wonderful. I will note that my friend and I were here on a Monday on the members only day ... so that plus the less the optimal weather left us as one of two occupied tables in the restaurant. Regardless, the tables were spaced apart well and everyone had masks on. I was very pleasantly surprised w the food. When my friend said we could eat at the cafe at the gardens, I kind of assumed that it would be plastic wrapped sandwiches and cans of coke... happy to report that this is actually a nice sit down restaurant. The food was great! My chicken sandwich was clearly fresh out of the deep frier. The fries were yummy. My friend loved her sandwich and her side salad was beautiful. The Adobo Wings were just okay, I didn't try the oysters on the 1/2 shell but my colleagues were pleased. The cheese board was good but the cheese was hard to spread. The charred octopus and fried calamari was delicious oh yeah and the cornbread was good. For my meal I had the fried chicken breast which was pretty good. Went last night. We waited 30 minutes to place our order. At which point we only wanted to eat and get out and see the beautiful Garden Lights. Our meal arrived within 15 minutes. My beet salad arrived in a bowl that was a small soup bowl. Each time I tried to get salad out it fell on a dirty table making it inedible. My salad contained overly salted beets, mushy strawberries, it did no have any labneh cheese, or the promised nuts. I order tofu side which was not on the salad. I asked the waiter and he said he would talk to the kitchen as my salad was finished the waiter brought out what appeared to be tofu nuggets which were breaded and deep fried. I sent them back which I should have done with the entire meal. My husband hamburger meat $21 was worse tasting than McDonalds and bun was soggy . His order of french fries came in a cup that they were lost in because the cup was large and the order of fries was small. Whew!, but I didn't want to add to the situation by missing our table. Turns out, I got a million confirmation texts, but no choice to say we're running late. I hate sending food back so I kinda just ate it and didn't complain but I'd definitely never order it again. My boyfriend had the shrimp & grits & it came with 4 shrimp with very wet grits, not wet like they made a beautiful sauce accompaniment. No, it was wet like they added too much water. It tasted ok though, just seemed like something I could've done better in my kitchen. The cheese board was ok. Not worth $15 with dried apricots, what I think was fig preserves, and some candied nuts with a sheep, goat and cow cheese. The goat & cow were pretty good but the Bleu cheese was harder than I anticipated and the sheep manchego (I think that's what it was) seemed very acidic. Desserts looked pretty but we didn't get one. This was my second time eating at Long Leaf. Back in August I had the pear crab entree salad for lunch and it was fantastic. Saturday night we took two friends. There were four of us. Three of us ordered the crab pear entree salad on my recommendation, which was a mistake. The salads were make with a much lower quality of crab meat with a considerably smaller portion. It had no flavor at all. For appetizers we had the focaccia bread, which was great and the cheese board. The cheese board was good, but for $30 it should've had more cheese on it. The service was good. I will try them again, but it will need to be a better experience than we just had. read more

Our party of two stopped in for a bite around 1 on a Wednesday. We asked for a table, and the hostess walked off for a couple of minutes before returning and seating us. Our server, Lyric, acknowledged us about ten minutes after we were seated to say she would bring us waters before taking our order. She returned about ten minutes later, dropping the waters between us and immediately walking away again. They were out of the ingredients for the first cocktails we requested, so we got two others which were tasty, but took another 15 minutes. We ordered the cheese board and a harvest salad to share. These uncooked items took another 30 minutes to arrive. The menu says the cheese board comes with duck prosciutto, which is the reason we ordered it, but it came out with pepperoni. I asked Lyric about it and she said the cured meat rotates, although the menu doesn't state that. She did bring some duck prosciutto out separately. I had to ask for small plates for our cheese board and the salads - it would have been thoughtful of the staff to bring some when we are having shared items (and I did state we would share the salad when we ordered). The ambiance is great and the restaurant is tastefully decorated, so it gives off the appearance of higher quality than what you may actually receive in terms of service. I don't have much to say about the food since nothing we got required much seasoning or preparation. I would not return. read more

We had booked a time slot to visit the Atlanta Botanical Gardens in the latter half of July. We went in the morning on a Sunday to avoid the heat. We were wrapping up our visit around noon and had planned to make a short drive to a restaurant in midtown. After consulting my phone, it quickly became apparent that there were virtually no places open until late afternoon due to COVID restrictions, etc. We had noticed Longleaf was open a few minutes before, and since we were both hungry we opted for that. There was a short wait for a table since we had no reservations. We were seated but then had to wait a while for a server. I'm sure it is hard to match staffing levels with their socially-distanced tables, but they seemed to have underestimated that day. We placed our order and were at least able to people-watch out the window as other people wandered by in the gardens. Eventually the food arrived. It was pretty average; not bad, but not great. I think we both got sandwiches of different types. Prices were a bit higher than average, probably given that they can count on garden visitors not wanting to go to the trouble to leave for their meal. I'm not sorry we went, but if I had other options next time, I'd probably make a drive to someplace else. read more

My partner and I were excited to finally find time and use our ABG membership. We are having a "staycation" this Labor Day weekend and chose to visit the gardens and restaurant today. We spent two hours touring the garden and then became hungry. We dined at the restaurant when it was still Lintons and more high end dining. We were not aware of the changes in concept, menu and staffing until we approached the building and saw the new name and menu. We were surprised. The menu is no longer the creative fine dining food and prices are reduced but still a little pricey. Upon walking in the first thing that hit us was the noise. The majority of tables inside had infants or toddlers and it was overwhelming. We like kids but were expecting the quieter ambiance of Lintons. We requested to be seated outside and were seated in 10 minutes. We noticed that there is no art work inside and no fresh flowers or elegant decor from when it was Lintons. It's a nice space but it could have been a Panera had this been outside the garden. The floor inside had napkins and food debris that remained in place the duration of our meal. That made it feel even more like an order at the counter basic sandwich shop. The employees were nice but service was painfully slow. Our server Kendra was super friendly as well as the rest of the staff but there were not enough present to deal with the volume of patrons. I debated on three or four stars for the review and decided to be generous. We ordered cocktails of gin and tonic plus the Moscow Mule. Mark ordered the house burger and requested to have the bun deleted and replaced with lettuce for his Atkins diet. I chose the shrimp salad sandwich with fries. Drinks and food took a long time to arrive but were delivered with smiles and sincere apologies for the wait. The adjacent table was experiencing the same thing and we had to listen to them complain our entire meal. There is no music as there was in the past so it's possible to hear surrounding conversations. We did our best to ignore them and enjoy the beautiful plants and flowers around us. The food was delicious but the portion sizes were a tad small for the price. We are fine with that because it's obviously a great location and I'm sure that their operating cost are pretty high. It's "airport " prices but you are paying for the convenience of the location and surrounding garden. We might choose to dine here in a pinch next time but will probably dine somewhere else nearby.
