The food at Loqui is delicious. This particular and newest location is smack dab in the center of the Arts District. They have a large outdoor patio and we found ourselves here on a Friday night when everywhere else had a long line. We were drawn in by the large sign stating "$3 Mexican Craft Beers". We quickly got in the short line and ordered a bucket of 4 which came with complimentary chips and salsa. What a steal! Their chips and salsa are phenomenal here, with thick and crunchy chips. I had never heard of the brand of beer before but we ordered a mix of IPAs and Lagers and enjoyed both. I couldn't resist ordering a taco because I love that they use large chewy, handmade flour tortillas with super melty cheese and even beans inside. The shredded beef is tender and spiced well. The only downside? The one taco cost me $6. That's the price of 2 of their craft beers! I've tried many of their tacos before when work had them catered, but it pains me to think that if I want to come here and fill up on a meal it won't be cheap. I saw Loqui on Postmates and decided to try it out as a higher quality Chipotle alternative. I went with the Beef Plate, which came with shredded beef, rice, beans, guac, cotija cheese, onion, and a corn tortilla. Yep you read that right - guac is included!! The portions aren't quite as large as Chipotle, but the ingredients are definitely better here. The beef was super juicy and flavorful, rice fluffy and not overcooked. I also got a side of Chips & Guac, which was fine. Just through the Guac here lacked flavor...probably needed a bit more salt and lime. Oh man. So my experience with Loqui has just been via Postmates but I want to give this place a solid HELL YEAH after my 1st time trying it this weekend. (It also doesn't hurt that everything came so properly packaged I felt I was having my own personal gourmet meal! lol) I'm reading reviews where people are making the "elevated Chipotle" reference. I made the leap just based on photos and am so glad I did. Each taco eats like a meal. No meat filling slipping out of flimsy corn tortilla street taco shells or any of that nonsense. These pack a punch, and you'll only need a couple to fill you up. I feel the last time I had a hearty taco like this was Sky's. Call it Americanized, white-washed, etc....but I loved my meal. and as I am googling it, it looks like this is simply "Northern style" tacos. All I know is, these are fresh, hearty, filling, and tasting (and SO flavorful without being overly seasoned/salted), even after they go through the process of delivery. I feel most tacos have tortillas glazed with that melty cheese...chicken version has some guac smear and beef has beans. Yes to both. Pork, I'm coming for you too... I love this spot, as the name suggests it's a casual "low-key" spot. Came here during pandemic, and we just wanted some beers and snacks. At around 3pm on a Saturday there was only one other party. There are several benches outside, well distanced from each other. You go up and order indoors, get your food/drinks and come back out. We had beers and nachos and the vibe was perfect and chill. I do think Loqui is delicious but it does have two major drawbacks. First, its impossible to find parking in this area so there is no way that I would eat at this location unless I lived in the Arts District or if I was already there for another reason. Second, the bowl is almost $15 and not very big. Its not like Chipotle because they don't make it in front of you so you can't ask for more of a certain ingredient. However, the food is very fresh and delicious so if you want a quick meal I wouldn't hesitate trying this spot. read more

One of the best parts were the homemade flour tortillas and the salsas! The taste of the tortilla took me back to being a kid and grabbing the fresh tortillas from the kitchen as my mom and grandma made them! I thought the food was good, but not great. I have to be honest, my overwhelming opinion while eating was that this seems like a more expensive version of Chipotle, that isn't quite as good, and had less options in terms of both protein and veggie/toppings selections. I also ordered the chips and guacamole, which also comes with salsa. The guacamole and salsa are pretty good, but the chips taste a little like store bought ones. The service was very fast and friendly, and they have a pretty cool spot right tucked right next to Wurstkuche and the new juice place. I've come here for a long period of time already and I live in east la and I absolutely enjoy the atmosphere and quality of food here and staff does a great job with customer service, I always order the same thing 1 shrimp taco and 1 achiote chicken taco with a watermelon margarita but my last recent visits the quality of the chicken hasn't been the best as it was before due to the texture of the chicken was a little hard on the outside of the protein like it may be the burned texture of it and the shrimp can use a bit more time being cooked and I'm not sure why the pog margarita got removed from the menu but that was always my go to would be nice to bring that drink back, but I'll keep coming back because i enjoy the peaceful atmosphere from the outdoor patio and have faith that management will acknowledge my review, just a sincere honest review read more

I love this new spot in the neighborhood! I was initially doubtful about $6 tacos because there are a few decent cheap taco trucks in the area. However, I was proven wrong about the price tag. The tacos are generously sized, I'd be full with two of them. The ingredients are fresh and high quality. My favorites are the mushroom (it's a MUST) and the chicken, which are completely not what I'd order at a regular taco place. I also need to comment on their flour tortilla, I can seriously use it as a blanket, it's sooo soft and delicious.
