We finally tried this restaurant after they rebuilt from the fire. The new place is much larger, more modern and very beautiful decor inside. However the staff are not very friendly and the food is mediocre compared to many other surrounding Latin choices. I actually went once when it was slow and another time during peak busy hours. Staff were not friendly, hospitable and never came to check on us (even the time there were only 4 tables and lots of staff). Slow to greet, seat and never came unless we looked for them. It's sad because it's a huge beautiful place and would be a good place for large groups but I won't go back due to staff and also the food is not tasty. Solid Tex-Mex style food, huge renovated interior, and decently quick lunch service. I came in with coworkers and tried one of the lunch specials. I got the fried avocado with beef and the chicken enchilada verde. The fried avocado was good, and the beef from the fajita inside was even better. The enchilada was pretty underwhelming. The chicken was just okay and I really did not like the salsa verde on it. Beans and rice were well seasoned, no complaints there. Chips and salsa were good too, I'd recommend going with a full steak/beef fajita for lunch or getting the shared grill platters. read more

He took time out to speak to me about the restaurant. Great personality. Loves his job Carlos- kitchen staff- paid attention to important details regarding our food order. Dining area is a completely wide open floor plan now. I wish it was a little more compartmentalized. Having a conversation is a little difficult because you literally have to yell across the table. Still a great atmosphere for all. Great decor. Our waitress (Yuma) was very pleasant and paid attention to detail. We ordered guacamole as an appetizer and told her to make sure that there wasn't any jalapeños in it. Shortly afterwards, Carlos from the kitchen came over to our table to confirm that the guacamole would not have any jalapeños in it when it was brought out to our table. We really appreciated him confirming that the order would be prepared as requested. All food arrived at the same time and was hot. So glad that Los Cucos has reopened. I was craving beef fajitas, so we were thinking about different places to go. We decided to go the Los Cucos since we hadn't been by since they remodeled after the fire. It's modern and open inside. The fake trees are cute but make it a little dark to eat near. We were centrally located in the dining area, but it was difficult to get a waiter or waitress' attention since they're looking up at the ceiling or other staff members only. The servers were actually more helpful. The chips with red and creamy green salsas are complimentary. The creamy green salsa was refreshing. The La Bonita plate comes with (3) chicken fajitas quesadilla slices, (1) beef fajita taco covered with chile con queso, and (1) bean and cheese tostada. It comes with lettuce, guacamole, tomato, rice and beans. It all tasted very standard and good if you're looking for typical flavors. The thin green sauce for the plate was pretty spicy and unique. Los Cucos is BACK! We finally came through after they rebuilt and WOW! They really stepped it up. The ambiance has lots of natural day light, modern and that gigantic open bar is genius. They've always been great at getting large parties in but the only downside is because it's so open it's very LOUD especially when it's busy. They even stepped up the food in my opinion although my son was not feeling the chicken quesadilla, my tortilla soup was amazing! A giant bowl full of chicken and veggies. You get a side of rice and avocados. The flavors were fresh and cozy. I love that it's not a thick, creamy base. The queso and chips were so good we ate every last drop. Drinks were on point and service was so good. Drinks stayed full, even the kid's drinks. She kept checking up on us every few minutes and still took care of us after the checks were paid. I'm so glad to see them back after the devastating fire. We were coming here for years before that. Just a word of caution: this new build has horrible acoustics compared to the old building. It's extremely loud now. Not a deal breaker if you're prepared for it, but it could be an issue for people who have a hard time with loud noises. We still love this place! read more

TikTok made us go try this place after the new renovation, it's a cute place and the decor was really cool. We didn't have a wait time for a family of 5 on a Saturday afternoon, the chips and salsa were great the salsas had a great flavor and the chops were nice and warm. For the food we forgot to take a picture of the parrillada my family dove into it quick, I got the quesabirria with flautas the tacos were pretty good but the consomé of the birria was way too salty it overkilled the flavor. My sister had a large quesadilla which was indeed large and full filling, nothing crazy about a quesadilla. Overall we have been to other Mexican restaurants that really left us amazed. read more

You cannot beat Los Cucos! This is a beautiful, large location. Staff is friendly and very attentive; orders came out really fast despite how busy the place was even on a Saturday mid-afternoon. My wife and I went to the newly rebuilt (post fire) Los Cucos on SH249 for lunch, and I was very pleasantly surprised. Since a few years ago I stopped going to Tex-Mex restaurants - including Los Cucos) since I preferred genuine Mexican food. So, I wanted to go here for a re-benchmark of my preferences. As we entered, we were blown away with what they had done with the place as the open layout, and decor was very modern but still with a hint of the culture which it allegedly represented. The layout was also the reason I dropped a star on the rating, because the place is noisy. Voices carry and the ambient noise was almost bordering on irritating when the restaurant was about 70% capacity in the main dining area. There is a separate room that was unoccupied when we were there. The staff was welcoming and friendly and our waiter was quite good. The nibbles were brought out promptly, which if you know in a Tex Mex place is nacho chips with red and green dipping salsa (not even pico de gallo). It was fresh and the salsas were tasty but not spicy. We ordered Lunch Chicken Fajitas for my wife and I got the Combo Tradicional. Took maybe 15 minutes to arrive and was steaming hot. We both found the food delicious, and I was blown away by being happy with the taste of every thing on my plate, even down to the salad. There was a green mayonnaise (?) based sauce that was the best sauce on the table and I considered getting a refill! Nothing was spicy, however, and I had asked for some chopped up serrano pepper on the side but I guess our waiter forgot; I didn't remind him because he was so nice, and the food was so good. For drinks my wife stuck to her water but I wanted to test their Jamaica, which turned out to be good and not the most expensive I have bought. We initially were going to get Tres Leches to share (just to see how good theirs was) but the waiter upsold the Tres Amigos which included a big square of Tres Leches, as well as coated ice cream and some churros. Delicious! We had to get to-go boxes for some of the food and some of the dessert. Prices are not inexpensive, but for the quality of the food, the service and the decor It is okay value. Would I recommend this place - absolutely! Would I go back? Probably but I still prefer a more "genuine" experience. And some fresh pepper heat. read more

Our server was David and we asked him to put shrimps aside because of shrimp allergy and we asked all plates to be refried beans and once he came with our order the shrimp was mixed in the parrillada and all plates had charro beans. This turned out to be a disaster,it took them 1hour and 18 minutes to bring our food out. I ordered a salad so I really didn't understand. If you feel like wasting your time this is the location for you. When the food came out I was full of chips and didn't want my salad but did pay for my kids food because I couldn't have them to starve, do you think their was any compensation offered for the wait. We decided to try going today Sunday. It was so busy we had to Park the lot next to restaurant. Good to see everyone happy it's open again and supporting the company. We walked in and they took our name and cell# and they told us 20-25 mins wait but we got our text less then 10 mins. We were sat at the back right near kitchen but I don't care. We understand it's Newley reopened and busy so they are sure to still be working out the bugs and there would be delays. Place is huge and seems like double the size and space and tables as I recall from old place. Due to being newley re opened they are over staffed to make sure they can handle the first 2 months of extra busy as everyone wants to see the new place. I'm sure they will reduce staff after the initial rush goes back to normal They have a projector for tv, what a great idea not to have a tv hanging on the wall. Huge tree in center area and plenty of paint and fresh modern design. I don't go to Los Cucos to often being Tex-Mex as compared to an actual authentic Mexican restaurant. One odd thing that I did see on menu and never noticed before they have Caldo De Res, just wish they would also do Menudo or Pozole..but I understand it isn't really a Tex-Mex menu item. But if they did add this to menu a lot more customers would be reached..just a thought/idea Still really good service, prices are fair and portions are good size. Drinks were strong and tasted great. We've been back to this location twice since they reopened after the fire and rebuild. I wouldn't have come back a second time, except that my wife and son like the place. The location, despite being a new build, is far too noisy. At this point, there doesn't seem to be any way they could hang acoustic panels to help, either. The service was slow during their grand reopening weekend. On our final visit, the pace was glacial, even having given them a month or so to work out their processes and procedures following the re-opening.
